    Guys, don't do this.

Give away free stuff, fine, but NOT NEW, otherwise unaccessible stuff.

This reeks of desperate triple-A, mainstream FOMO tactics.

Want people to be interested? Deliver good content, don't bait with "exclusive" BS.

Part of me thinks that it may indeed be exclusive in the short term, with their actual plans to make it accessible thru other means (BP in Market, Baro, etc) later on. Just doing it to hook players in the short term.

    It is indeed odd, however.

Umm you copied pasted without formatting. Also pretty sure stuff like that will be answered at Tennocon itself during panels. So don't expect an info drop in the forums until after Tennocon is over.

Fair enough. Suppose I'm being slightly impatient. Time to channel the inner wait I had for The War Within.

And I think I fixed my formatting. Thanks for pointing that out.

  3. What about Railjack expansions, New War Quest, etc? Don't want to be promised more stuff from a teaser that won't be anywhere near what we'll get in the released patch. I.E. Railjack reveal in 2018. Railjack was supposed to unify the game, and it still hasn't done any of that and remains a content island.

Don't get me wrong I'm okay with you guys trying other things, even to this day. Had to put up with released content not being fully fleshed out for many years now. But the priorities seem to be hopping around quite a bit lately. I'm just sort of not okay with teasing new things without finishing up the old things. Corpus Liches, Corpus Railjack Missions, Squad link on a bigger scale, Command Intrinsics, New War Cinematic Quest, Duviri Paradox, unification of game mechanics instead of more content islands... I could go on.

Will likely watch the Tennolive stream anyway, as I'm sort of interested in what you guys are thinking currently. But I just hope this is a small-medium sized update instead of something big enough to take focus away from what has been cooking since TC 2018.

I ended up just making a dummy Warframe account while connected thru my Steam account, sped my way to the Plains of Eidolon and hijacked a Dargyn and got it. Sucks I had to go to that extent to earn the achievement but, it did work.

A one-time fee for long-term data storage is not very efficient.  It costs DE upkeep to store data, usually monthly.  Either renting drive space or running your own, both cost monthly or so.

Well, guess it's time to introduce a Riven Enthusiast's Bundle of $5.99 a month or something to give you unlimited Riven storage.

    xD
*obvious sarcasm but yeh, subscriptions for something like Rivens would make me laugh even harder than Rivens existing in general*

  6. But with the platinum cost of Riven slots, wouldn't they have the potential capacity to at least support a Riven slot for each unique weapon in the game? Around 550 or so including Archguns/Melee, and Companion weapons.

With a bundle of 3 slots costing around 3-4 dollars, and the number of players that would like to possibly collect a single Riven for each weapon (since they don't seem to be going away), I don't see it as a bad thing.

Not sure how much I believe the "internal server stress idea", especially since you have to pay for the slots in the first place. Granted, you can trade for it as well, but someone has to put in the money for the platinum somewhere up the line.

I've completely switched to using the djinn these days with how often I find my sentinels exploding. Even without weapon precepts the first shot fired from any moderately high level enemy obliterates any sentinel I have.

Dragging a kubrows corpse around gets real old quick.

Maybe make companions scale with enemies like specters do? This would be a bandaid but it would at least stop them from flopping over every two seconds.

I know the feeling. Carrier Prime has the highest EHP of all Sentinels and is still tissue paper at levels 50 or higher especially from Sentient Disco Dance Parties or Bombard Missiles.

Perhaps some innate evasion stats for the mobile companions (Kubrows / Kavats / Infesto Doggos etc), and something else like just flat damage reduction or just access to better Health Shield / Armor mods for Sentinels and Companions at large. Perhaps even some base stat buffs?

Lots of things could be done to make them not tissue at middle to high levels. Not saying make them invincible (cuz you can kinda do that with Invisibility while solo), but just better defenses to coincide with our Warframes being more tanky across the board thanks to U 27.2

I can agree with the change pass being applied to them as well.

But lets not forget that the changes made to our Warframes are just the initial part, we don't know if they're going to do the same thing on the rest of the factions on top of the changes they've already suffered.

Can't tell you how many times I've seen "the first of many" sort of updates come out to leave several aspects of promised stuff in the dust. Nothing saying they won't get to it eventually, just thought I'd write about it.

Also, if I recall correctly all enemies were changed in some regard when Warframe Revised deployed. Grineer got reduced EHP and accuracy changes (pretty sure that was game wide, for all A.I.), Corpus got pseudo-Shield Gating, Infested got Damage buffs. Did Sentients get anything? I still feel like they're about the same, but they may have gotten EHP changes too.

Remains to be seen if anything happens to our space buddies, it won't break the game for me if it never comes, it's just an annoyance I've had with it for quite some time and I thought I'd write about a way to make it better.

Game on, and stay safe friend.

  9. On the topic of EHP, to reference the changes to Warframes we saw when Warframe: Revised Update 27.2 rolled out. I had a few things to talk about with respect to Sentinels, Kubrows, Kavats, Helminth Chargers and MOA companions.

    Spoiler

    Sentinel Health/Shield/Armor Types:GHB8UWk.jpgKubrow Health/Shield/Armor Types: ue2g2UN.jpgKavat Health/Shield/Armor Types: ZHjRUUQ.jpg Helminth Charger Health/Shield/Armor Types: aKPS8UN.jpgMOA Health/Shield/Armor Types: Y7zKzo7.jpg

As you can see from the above screenshots, all Shield types for the listed companions are the normal "Shield", Health is either Flesh, or Robotic (odd that Sentinels aren't Robotic Health bearers, but MOAs are), and Armor is Ferrite Armor across the board. So obviously, it could be concluded that Companions were totally left out of the Shield, Health and Armor changes that Warframes got across the game when Update 27.2 shipped.

So let me ask: What if Companions had the same treatment, Shield Gating and all?

It would totally benefit Sentinels, which flop immediately into death if you're not running the Regen or Primed Regen bandaids (and yes they are bandaids). This issue is made more odd by the fact that MOAs and Sentinels should both logically have Robotic Health types, but MOAs can bleed out and be revived (being robots, somehow) with no outside requirement from Mods. Sentinels obviously cannot be revived in this manner.

So I propose that Sentinels upon receiving lethal damage, fall to the ground and await revival, instead of immediately exploding. This would obviously negate the need to have Regen or Primed Regen and they could instead act like Medi-Pet Kit or Loyal Companion, reducing bleedout time by adding seconds to the revive-me-before-I-die-for-good timer.

On top of this, if Shield gating and the changes to innate 25% Damage Resistance Warframe Shields was applied to all Companions along with changing their Armor and Health types to something more in line with what was given to our family of Warframes, it'd make Companions especially when paired with low EHP Warframes quite a bit more survivable and they wouldn't be prone to getting one shot if you go down to start awaiting revival. Can't tell you how many times I just revive myself because my Carrier Prime kicked the bucket and exploded while I went down and awaited a teammate to pick me up.

So... yeah, that's all I have to say on that for now.
I'd really enjoy these changes if they made it into the game, and I can't see how it wouldn't be anything but a plus to our favorite little vacuum cleaner space pals.

    Thanks for reading!
    And stay safe everyone.

  10. Not going to lie, it was the last thing I even thought about buying and then realized I only use a few melee weapons from a few select classes, all already with the polarity I need or the capacity to hold everything I'd need in spite of an incorrect polarity because I forma'd each one 3-4 times.

Didn't even wanna buy it for collections sake, I'd never slap it on anything. Unless like the guy above me said they're planning to add a crap ton of new stances for melees with different polarities. Even then you could just run fissures, earn a forma, slap it on a normal mod slot and call it a day.

Stance Forma is completely useless. Personally tired of all the different flavors of Forma as it is to be honest. But at least Aura, Umbra, and Reg Forma actually fulfill anything you could ever want to do with a build.

If you failed, you failed. It's supposed to feel like a punishment.

Except in Railjack where if you fail, you're awarded any Intrinsics you've gained before doing so.

Versus aborting a mission in Railjack where you aren't awarded anything.

  12. They made Archguns in Empyrean all projectile based, and took away Archmelee auto-targeting, and didn't even bother touching them for the most part.

To this day, almost 3 months after Railjack launched out of the torpedo tube and landed flat on its face, I still believe that they made Archguns less appealing in comparison to Railjack to encourage players to use their Turrets instead, because two of them are still hit scan. (Pulsar and Photor)

Doesn't help that until you get basic MK III items (because building any of the other tiers isn't worth it), you're stuck to flying around with the Amesha / Cyngas, and parking your squishy as heck Railjack behind a rock or at the edge of the map until you win.

  13. While I'm all for the Arcane meta being shifted around a bit, top contenders being re-balanced, and a single set of Arcanes being (on average) better than a set we had before this patch came out. I'd like to reiterate a few things discussed here by a majority of players who've posted.

    1.
You specifically said multiple times that "we're not looking to increase the grind here" in reference to the Arcanes being changed. If you truly meant that, the previous Rank 3 Arcanes we had could've easily been buffed to Rank 5 values without having to even increase the rank at all. In current form, it feels like an excuse to get players to grind for power that they've already spent hundreds of hours or dollars to attain by taking away what they had and saying they have to farm more to get it back. Not to mention that some Rank 5 Arcanes do exactly the same thing as their Rank 3 counterparts for more than double the required copies. How is this respecting a player's investment via time or money to grow in a game that's all about wading through terrible RNG and drop rates to finally get that sought after item? Isn't that the entire basis of the game?

    2.
Cooldowns on certain Warframe abilities or companion precepts I could understand, but why should something as rare as Arcane Energize / Grace, or as useful a tool for squish frames as Guardian have cooldowns attached, completely randomizing their usefulness. Items that are not easily gained in a game all about looting and searching for the next best thing should not have cooldowns. Energize is by no means game breaking, and encourages a variety of builds and playstyles because you're not stuck to modding for Efficiency / Duration in most cases. Diversity in modding and playstyles is what you wanted from Arcanes isn't it? Which was the whole reason that duplicate Arcane stacking went the way of the dodo. If that was really the case, why instead of making lower-tier Arcanes (like single status resist ones, when Rolling Guard exists) more beneficial and maybe even worth a slot, do you insist to limit the usefulness of the Arcanes that have become commonplace in most builds? They're commonly used for a reason, because they're useful and are a just reward for a player's time or monetary investment.

Devaluing that investment by lowering the top end, with the soon to be introduced (and likely dead on arrival / just to dilute drop tables) status resist Arcanes, instead of giving less used Arcanes some love is what is leaving a sour impression on me from this update.

Don't get me wrong, a lot of good is in this update. And I'm loving some of the changes I've seen so far, and I'm okay with the "best" thing changing every now and then. Change is good in a living game like this. But I can't shy away from feeling that yet again, my time and my progress as a player is of no matter when it comes to an item that is "best in slot", and that even if it's not game breaking at all, is primed for attention because it's actually useful and is what I'd consider a proper reward for time / money invested.

If anything, I hope that status resist Arcanes eventually not only provide Status immunity to a specific type of damage at some point, but that they also offer innate damage resistances to specific suites of damage. Gas Status Resist could offer reduction to Heat and Toxin, Magnetic Status Resist could offer reduction to Cold and Electric, etc. (The child types that build up to the status you're resisting)

Please reconsider some of the changes you've made to the top end Arcanes. Cooldowns are completely unnecessary, and I feel that some actual love given to all Arcanes, rather than just the rarest / most useful in a general sense would make the entire system much more worthwhile.

  14. 250ms and below is the sweet spot for me.

Just last night while speed farming fissure missions for Ducats, ran into a few missions where the ping was averaging 500-1500ms with a full party. Typically unplayable all by itself, there were segments where it would lag for 4-5 seconds straight and everyone but the host was basically stuck in a single room until it stopped.

Just also got an internet bandwidth upgrade and tested my speeds while that was happening just to make sure it wasn't me. Definitely wasn't. Hosted a few games myself and asked players in my session how their experience was, and it was between 70-150ms and little to no lag or obvious connection hiccups.

Moving from .5 to 7.7Mbps upload made all the difference.

Most games I enjoy are 150ms or below, the most ping you can have to actually play the game is around 300ms or lower. Anything higher is asking for issues.

  15. Maybe because of the release of the Bramma, it's taking them a bit longer for QA. d:

    . . .
Or they just want it to remain DEv exclusive (for the most part) along with Stalker Mode.
It's really hitting me in my completionist feelz tho, having just one mod greyed out in the Codex. 😕

  16. If they just made self damage across the board for weapons that have it deal a flat percentage of damage to the user (say between 30-50% of your current EHP), you wouldn't have a need for bandaid mods, and you wouldn't have to worry about one-shotting yourself. Thus leading you to be a bit more careful instead of the game slapping you in the face for stuff that's sometimes out of your control.

That way it wouldn't one-shot weaker frames like Loki or Ivara, and it wouldn't one-shot tanks like Inaros, Hildryn or Nidus. even tho hildryn would be fine anyway cuz shield gating

    EZ.

if ur last weapon was a bramma you wont get another one in row, cause the mechanic is still live, so you first have to get another weapon :)

If that mechanic is still active, it needs to be deactivated because we can actually force which weapon we want to go for now.

Didn't know that was still a thing, kinda sucks if you only want to spend your time upgrading one weapon at a time until u hit 60%

  18. The tried and true "park ur jack in an asteroid" or "immediately after spawn fly backwards till you hit the end of the play area" and do the rest in Archwing (Amesha / Cyngas with 100% status) is still a thing.

If you can't find any squads or willing players that is. Because farming Earth after completion is highly irrelevant if you aren't there for resources.
