It is obviously true in the live build, but it sounded like that will not be the functionality in the rework. Maybe that's why I am bringing it up and discussing it.

Same answer as above. I have no issue with how Vulpas work now, but based on what Pablo said, every companion will lose the vacuum and radar functionality when downed. Unless he was mistaken or it changes, that will be a BRUTAL nerf to Vulphas and will render this rework a useless waste of time. Nerf Vulphas and make everything Vulpha sounds atrocious.

they won't lose it when downed, chill

  2. TYPE: Ingame

DESCRIPTION: Firing an empty Catabolyst doesn't cause it to reload

    VISUAL: n/a

REPRODUCTION: I only tried it with the Catabolyst so far, but just empty your magazine ammo bladder and then left click when empty.

EXPECTED RESULT: Left-clicking should trigger a reload (or in the Catabolyst's case, a reload and grenade throw)

OBSERVED RESULT: The gun clicks but doesn't reload

REPRODUCTION RATE: 100% when attempting to use the Catabolyst

  4. realistically tho if the only thing scaling to enemy scaling is his flechette orb and photon strike, its not a gamewide thing that every frame has access to and it's a niche thing on vauban because those two abilities are damage-centric abilities on a cc/utility-oriented frame that tends to choose range/dur over straight powerstr; im not gonna agree with you saying that adding that mechanic totally defeats the entire idea of enemy scaling in the first place since its really not game-breaking levels of scaling anyway

also wanted to point out that photon strike and flechette orb are both limited by their deployment and are completely overshadowed in the damage department anyways by other frames, so if your argument to change enemy scaling is gonna stem from anywhere it'd probably be a better choice to start with the frame that can wipe away enemy armor across the map in about 5 seconds or the fact that most of our weapons completely negate most damage abiltiies, or maybe the one that can spam execute enemies and cut off 25% of their maxHP through resistances instead of the mechanic made to allow a ccframe to deal relatively mediocre damage in a relatively small area once every few seconds

i agree with the modding idea, if everyone puts on the same multishot/basedmg mods why not cut out the middleman and just bake those stats into the weapons themselves or remove them entirely and compensate through reducing enemy armor scaling (which was the reason we needed to pile on so much multishot and basedmg in the first place) to add more slots for meaningful utility-centric mods

  5. Warframe is just not mechanically built for pvp.

Our parkour is gross. We're basically rabid bunny-kangaroo hybrids with guns.

Weapons and abilities are unbalanced. I mean, how CAN you balance the heaps of weapons and abilities we have? We've got too much stuff that does too many things. We could limit the pool of weapons and warframes that are PvP-allowed, sure, but then we'd spend the next entirety of our lives wading through "i'm angry, my favorite [warframe or weapon] isn't allowed in pvp, de add it or im suing >:(((" forum posts. And nobody likes those type of posts. And then players would establish a meta. Play with THIS warframe, and THIS weapon, or you're trolling and don't deserve to win. And that causes players to be unhappy with other players, which breeds toxicity, which makes PVP in warframe seem elitist and- yeah. I'm not sure about you guys, but I'm only toxic in league and black desert. Warframe is supposed to be my happy chill game.

    so, wat do?

Nerf parkour? Great! Now we've taken a system of movement- one of the most basic fundamentals of the entire game; something that we've become accustomed to and gradually improved with over the span of months/years- cut a small part of it off, and doused the rest with gasoline and lit it on fire. That's a nono.

Maybe, ehh.. slow down the game time? Now we're all living in this sloggy, molasses-feeling matrix game. We're all accustomed to the inherent speed of Warframe, and everyone would be pissy about it.

To make PvP in a game like this viable, it would have to either unbuckle from the main game, or be indirect PvP.

Unbuckle - In PVP, we'd have to no longer be those rabid steroid gunbunnies I was talking about earlier. Parkour, movement, warframes - nah. Make us play as something entirely different, so that we could properly implement new mechanics for a new gamemode wherein we play as new things. Bonus points if we make it tie into Warframe. I was thinking maybe grineer vs. corpus crossfire where we control the grineer and corpus. Each side has classes+abilities+weapons based on different types of units, and maybe you could add some weird sport thing into it. "Capture the Datamass and bring it to home base" or "King of the Control Point". Maybe if we do some special objective during a match, allow a player to change into a warframe for a limited time to fight- kinda like how it's done in the recent star wars game where players can become a jedi for a while.

Indirect PvP - We wouldn't be fighting eachother directly, but we'd be doing some sort of challenge against the other in order to win. Destiny 2 Gambit is the obvious choice here; as someone who loves Warframe, Destiny, and stomping plebs, this is probably the best thing to do if Warframe really wanted PvP. We get to keep our ridiculous gameplay but we don't use it against eachother (directly). Of course, I'm not JUST saying we could do with something like Gambit. The gist is that players could be given a goal, a way to reach that goal, and ways to stop the opposing side from getting to that goal.

  6. spoils pretty much up to the latest warframe quest, careful:

    Spoiler

you play as a void demon-child who has an ai capable of flying ships, building foundry items, deploying a fuelless jetpack attached with a gun that has infinite ammo- not to mention sound in space- who fights against 1) generationally inbred clones that are ruled by basically a giant snake and a little gekko girl, 2) space tax collectors, 3) a living virus capable of creating huge manifestations capable of speech and destruction and 4) living robots that were made by old people that died ages ago, while wearing dead people (well, alright, recreations of dead infested people whatever) that can use various powers such as: throwing fireballs, mind controlling enemies, playing music so hard it kills everyone around you, crashing into the ground so hard it stops time of those affected, whatever the hell limbo does, and MORE

lets also talk about how many of warframe's weapons are crazy:

-electric laser beam that jumps to enemies and stuns all of them

-a gun that literally shoots slugs made out of glass and detonates on impact

-scythe that shoots out toxic sludge

    -rocket powered hammer

    -glass hammer

    ------

stronger/more blatant spoilers past this line, careful

not to mention we literally just 3d printed a living being in one of the latest quests, also we had a dream and came out of it with a blueprint for our 3d printer that is automagically powered btw

...but that's what you want to talk about? are you sure about that?

why start now? why start worrying about likeness to reality now???

  7. Why not literally anything else? When DE announced that mode, I didn't want to play a polished turd version of 'survival but khora and the tiles change'. I was thinking there'd be something attractive and fun about the gamemode. I l like the idea of dynamic tilesets and enemies, but the fact that it's really just 'kill enemies to progress the timer never before seen gamemode haha' feels really bad to play. I wanted to fight against enemies, not a clock.

Now I know the efficiency counter isn't gonna be changed because DE, but if you guys could change the counter to any other type of mechanic, what would it be?

I'd probably do some type of modifier for each conduit you go through.

  8. Point of my post wasn't to insult you. I'm just praising your art. Sorry you feel that way, I'll try to make it up! :^)

Anyways, I came back here to help you out:

If you go to that room in the bottom of your ship all the way in the back, you'll see a big chair-looking thing. It's hard to miss, I think you'll barely be able to spot it if you're lucky.

Hit your interact button when you walk up to the chair, and a cool looking screen pops up! Click the one that says "Zenurik" (zeh-nyur-ik), and you'll see a screen that looks a little bit like a ton of little balloons and sticks.

You wanna click the balloon that looks like this one:

    Try not to miss.

    Good luck!!

I have a few concerns about the bard frame.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding all this stuff about sound affecting damage, but I wonder how much of an effect the music we create in the step sequencer will have. If it's literally just "more music=more damage" then a lot of players will just fill up there step sequencer with as many notes as possible. Even if you guys limit the amount of notes we can place, it shouldn't take too long before players figure out the "best" music in order to maximize damage output, as opposed to just making music that sounds good. Again though, maybe I'm just not properly understanding this mechanic. Will have to see/try the actual abilities in order to get a better idea.

Another concern I have is how many songs we can have saved at once. You guys mentioned being able to share our music with other players with some sort of "fingerprint", but it'd be nice to be able to immediately switch between at least a few songs without needing a word document or something up at all times. Just being able to switch between song A, B, and C should be enough.

Finally,  for the less talented/interested musicians out there, the bard frame should come with a default song. Doesn't have to be incredible, just something basic that can get the job done.

Don't take my word on this, but if I understood correctly:

The music won't affect the AMOUNT of damage, but the way in which it's allocated.

So for example, if you put a single note in a step sequencer and your ability does, for example, 1k damage, the singular note will do 1k damage.

However, if you put 5 notes, each one will do 200 damage, still equalling to 1k.

Now, I could be wrong, and if I am right then I don't see a point in making an actual song if I could just make a single note do the full damage.

Pls feel free to correct me @anyone

  11. 1. Once I get the Ayatan Sculpture, the 55 thousand more that I accumulate over time are gonna be useless. I don't need endo and I don't care about ship cosmetics.

    2. Looks like fodder tbh, need some idea of the stats. Looks really fun to screw around with though.

    3. I just run dark sectors.. never even bothered with the Secta. Gonna fodder it whenever I buy it.

    4. Seems awesome. I just hope it doesn't ever get monotonous.

    5. Can't wait to bring an Inaros and play sandstorm.

  12. Hey guys! NovusNova merged all related threads here.

We're aware of the issue with Scorches and will be working on it soon :) -[DE]Danielle, 8/4/2016, 11:02 PM

It's been 4 months since this was addressed by a member of DE, but 4 months of firey BS clipping through walls and killing me from across entire tiles.

Please. I'm begging. Fix it already.

Not only do they do crazy damage, but they don't respect LoS and they have tile-length range. Like, come on. Please.

Dang it.I meant arcanes shouldn't be tied to cosmetics.

Extractors don't really gather enough resources.

Well I mean all they're used for is just blueprints and trading, other than that no one really use's them.I don't really get the point after that.

Eh,all relays are the same, nothing is different about them among the planets.I'd be nice if each relay had a different look.I mean it would be nice if each relay matched the typical environment of each planet.Like if Mars had a relay it would look desert-ish.

I see the potential problems much more clearly now, thank you.

Personally, since arcanes were only designated to replace the classic helmet-tied arcanes, I think they're fine the way they are. I think some of the lower-class arcanes could use some tweaks to make them atleast able to compete with the higher ones. If they were unrestricted from cosmetics, I feel like they would become pretty overpowered. But again, this is just my completely uneducated opinion since I stopped using arcanes.

I agree that Clans are only used for blueprints and trading, but I don't really see any other way to improve them. Perhaps add an incentive for clanmates to play together, like a small +10% affinity boost or something? Anything that rewards players for playing with their clan while not punishing those that don't. Honestly, anything that just gives clans a use outside of trading and blueprints would be nice.

Ehh, extractors are weird to me honestly. I've never really relied on them, and to be honest the only reason I ever remember using them is for getting very small amounts of plastids (back in my noob days lmao). I guess in retrospect they could use a touch-up to make them a tad bit more important, or even a constant and reliable source of resources.

And finally, relays. I think I remember DE saying that they would like to add some type of variety by changing the warframe statues and some other things, but perhaps that's not their priority just at this moment. I'd think it'd be pretty cool though to have planet-themed relays. I personally want Maroo's Bazaar to become an auctionhouse instead of whatever it is now.
