  1. Hi DE! I’m very excited for this devstream - any 1999-related news makes me want to vibrate through the ceiling, lol - but I have a particularly niche question: will we be getting any more info about Voidtongue, especially how it works grammar-wise and what some more of the words in it mean? Even just some confirmations of how you spell those Voidtongue song lyrics? I’m sure I’m not the only feral linguist who has been going nuts over this since Whispers in the Walls…
  2. @Tiltskillet Yeah, that could also be a thing, instead of my attempted explanation with the Prime-related UI bug. I don't remember exactly when rollover happened, but I think it was in the middle of the second mission? That would be consistent with the amount of rewards I ended up with at the end. No way to tell which potential issue is the one that actually happened, but I don't think both could have happened at once - with only 2 modifiers and one mission completed before rollover, I would have ended up with 3 points and no rewards at all.
  3. Yeah, you two make a good point - it makes more sense for a “practice mode” to be one mission at a time rather than all three in a row, as long as you can still practice all three missions one by one if you want. Less lost work that way if you do fail the mission, which this entire premise expects to happen with some regularity.
  4. I tried last week’s Deep Archimedea just in the nick of time on Sunday night. I was in a full squad, including two friends, and I was not the only one to have this problem; I was a client, the other one who did was the host. Before the mission started, I double-checked my kit in Loid’s mission details screen (as one does), and was pleasantly surprised to discover that my Orthos Prime apparently counted as a regular Orthos for the rewards calculation! Having the Prime versions of my Scourge and Pandero as well, I swapped the regular versions out for those and went into the mission. Full loadout: all three weapons matching, plus Lethargic Shields and Knifestep Syndrome (I was playing Kullervo with Arcane Grace, lol) for a total of 18 research points, a good buffer in case I couldn’t finish. It went pretty well, all told - only one person (not me) got a single Mortis Strike, we all made it through to the end. Reward popups appeared at the end of the first two missions, everything seemed to be fine. But, at the end, I only received a single Archon shard, not the two shards that were in the popups and 15 Lanthorns that should have shown up after the last mission. I figured out what had happened pretty quickly: none of my Prime weapons had actually counted. Ergo, 9 research points, one reward drop. In hindsight, I really should have known better. Everything I’ve heard from documentation and community rumor has said that Prime variants are invalid, you have to use the original (and the reverse is presumably also true if you roll a Prime weapon/frame, although I’m not sure if that’s actually a thing that can happen?). The gamemode itself seems to be working as intended; the bug is in the pre-mission UI, which erroneously counted Primes as normal weapons and led me to believe I’d be getting a lot more rewards than I did. I’m sorry I don’t have screenshots - I didn’t think to take any before the mission started and by the time we finished, weekly rollover had happened and the whole mission setup was different. I’d be willing to try for a reproduce at some point…but maybe in a week when I actually own any Prime variants of the suggested kit, lol.
  5. To preface, my perspective: I've been playing normal star chart 99% of the time since 2019. In other words, I am a proud "filthy casual" (lol) but not an inexperienced one - a somewhat old-hand player with plenty of builds in my arsenal, exactly one of which can reliably hold up to Steel Path. Oh yeah, and my computer's also a potato. I'm legitimately not sure whether the trouble I often have with really-high-level content comes from poor modding, poor play, or just trying to fight enemies and performance issues at the same time. (Most likely it's all three.) Deep Archimedea is hard. That's not a complaint; it's supposed to be hard, and it does its job really well! I enjoy approaching it as an engineering challenge of sorts, crafting and fine-tuning every detail of a build to survive punishingly high levels within exactingly specific parameters, that change from mission to mission with no chance to swap builds in between. (I've liked this kind of challenge ever since my very first time running Razorback, when I purpose-built my Rhino to play revive duty while standing on the shock-floor at the edges of the old arena!) However, therein lies my main problem with DA: the engineering design process is iterative. Design, test, see what went wrong, repeat, emphasis on test. It's near impossible to practice Deep Archimedea, or test a build for it in a lower-stakes environment that's even remotely similar to actual mission conditions. I've personally run the numbers with calculations found on the wiki, to the best of my knowledge. To spawn an accurate copy of level 275 DA enemies in Simulacrum, you would somehow need to generate: level 95-98 Steel Path to simulate EHP for armored enemies (yes, I know that's not a thing on the star chart, I don't remember if it's a thing in Simulacrum either) level ~600 Steel Path to simulate EHP for unarmored enemies (definitely not a thing unless you stay in an endless mission for several hours!) level 155-156 Steel Path to simulate EHP for armored enemies Overguarded by a Severed Warden level 173 Steel Path to simulate EHP for unarmored enemies Overguarded by a Severed Warden level 111-121 Steel Path to simulate EHP for armored Eximera level 163 Steel Path to simulate EHP for unarmored Eximera level 175 Steel Path to simulate damage for all enemies So uh. Yeah! A bit tough to get that anywhere else! (Especially since I am MR22 and the highest level I can manage in Simulacrum is 165!) And this doesn't account for things like Demolisher damage attenuation, Guardian Eximera from Fortified Foes, or other modifiers on individual DA missions. Or personal modifiers that might change your entire playstyle if you take them. My proposal is this: make some means of playing missions in the style of Netracells and Deep Archimedea, but in a "low risk, low reward" state. No search pulses used, allowing infinite replay, but no rewards beyond normal mission drops either. I know that already sort of exists...after you've used up your reward chances for the week. I'd love to be able to practice and build-test beforehand as well, without worrying about losing out on Archon shards or arcanes or other nice stuff. I know this is an odd opinion, wanting a version of The Thing With High-Powered Drop Tables that doesn't have high-powered drop tables, but in a mission type where preparation is everything and failure is a real and punishing option, I'd like a way to fail that's no more punishing than the "Mission Failed" screen. The rest of Deep Archimedea could easily remain as-is - in order to get The High-Powered Drop Tables, you still have to spend your search pulses and take the full plunge. tl;dr I like build engineering, so let me engineer my build by adding a "practice" version of Deep Archimedea, with unlimited replay but no special drops
  6. What do you mean by "totally unfair"? This might just be me thinking highly of DE in general and wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I don't think there's any malice or adversarial-ness in how Voidtongue is being presented. Sure, translations are few and far between right now, but the more seemingly-random words we get and the more examples we get of how to string them together, the more we can deduce about the language and how it works. That's the whole point of this thread; it's a fun challenge! (And it'll be even more fun if and when we actually get a full-sentence translation!)
  7. You could be right, although we don't have enough grammatical info to say for sure yet! "Yoda talk" is basically English but shifted into OSV instead of SVO word order (sort of; it's a little more complicated than that, due to auxiliary verb shenanigans lmao). Voidtongue could very well be OSV too, who knows??
  8. You're right, that is a little strange - semantic categories tend to be different across different languages (leading to stuff not translating perfectly), although not always. It's possible that the English translations are inexact or incomplete, or that these specific words translate pretty well but a lot of other ones don't?? No idea lol
  9. OKAY SO! Massive update time! Matt tweets and login music and Dante Unbound, oh my To start with, we've got a whole bunch of new vocabulary: vak - tweet by Matt Chalmers (https://twitter.com/mattchalmusic/status/1737225781229896102), song lyrics uu - Matt's tweet, song lyrics ivbok - Matt's tweet, song lyrics shotarat - Matt's tweet, song lyrics theorized same word as unconfirmed shattarah by several people on the wiki possibly also same word as unconfirmed shotala from WitW login music? murum - song title vull - song title jeliira - song title There have also been several additional attestations of yara in unrelated places that appear at the start of a sentence 3 times out of 4. (The fourth is when it appears twice in the same sentence!) That could mean about a zillion different things, but "word order matters" seems to be a fair conclusion in general, given both this and the logographic-writing-system theory, which would make analytical structure more likely (cf. Chinese). Taking a hard left into phonology, I'd also tentatively theorize lexical vowel length based on the double vowels in iire, uu, and jeliira. Very tentatively. There's no minimal pair here yet as far as I know (the only minimal pair I can find is mara and yara), and even if there were, we have too few confirmed translations to prove different meanings. And I have no idea how phonetically consistent the Voidtongue romanization is or isn't, especially given the presence of 〈ou〉 pronounced /u/ or /uː/ in at least one place. (My native-English-speaker ass is not very good at parsing vowel length distinctions in speech lmao) More updates to come once I manage to get Dante and some Gruzzling quotes go up on the wiki! Or when DE actually pUTS THEIR LYRICS IN A VIDEO DESCRIPTION LIKE THEY DID FOR THE DUVIRI OPERA, PLS DE
  10. +1 to this question! I don’t play much on iOS myself anyway (can’t wrap my head around the controls lol), but I’m sure some of my friends would also like to know.
  11. (ETA: saw a couple questions about how to make images show up on the forum, so: 1. Upload your image to an external hosting site like Imgur, Google Drive, etc. 2. Get a link directly to the uploaded image (should have an image file extension like .jpg or .png at the end of the URL) 3. Go back to the forum, click "Insert image from URL" in the bottom right 4. Paste in your image link 5.
  12. To start with: this isn’t a bug report. I understand what happened here, and that it involves systems working totally as intended. I’m just a bit disappointed with how that intent was handled, since I’m sure I’m not the only one who lost the iOS Day 1 rewards as a result. I created a fresh account on iOS today, and it worked great! Yay! The 3-day booster and syandana were in my inbox as soon as I finished the tutorial. However, I am far from a new Warframe player - I have a long-standing account on PC. I was finally able to link accounts earlier this evening (after some shenanigans with an infinite login loop, but that’s not the point of this thread), with the PC account as my primary. I successfully logged into said PC account on iOS after the link, but I checked my inbox and the booster and syandana weren’t there. They apparently got overridden with the account link. I did see all the warnings during the linking process about how all items, progression, etc. on the non-primary account would be lost. That’s a risk I chose to take, perhaps foolishly, but who cares - that’s on me, and it’s not that huge a loss anyway. I’m not asking for the rewards to be restored to my account or anything; it’s not worth the support ticket, since there really is no bug. I’m just disappointed with the fact that, if the rewards only show up on fresh iOS accounts and not on a second login - say, with a newly linked cross-save account - that seems to screw over all the returning players from other platforms who want their progression to carry over onto iOS. If the Day 1 rewards were meant specifically for players who intend to use iOS as their primary account for cross-save purposes, that would have been nice to know in advance.
  13. Worked for me, using phone number instead of email address for the Apple ID! I have no idea why email address doesn’t work, but hopefully other people can find this thread and know not to use it.
  14. +1 to all this. Trying from Firefox on an iPad Air, neither signing in with passcode (I have biometrics disabled) nor “Use a different Apple ID” works, it just logs me into my new iOS account on the website without linking accounts. Same with hitting “Yes, I have a PC account” in Account Management with iOS logged in - it just signs me into my PC account instead, no link.
  15. Yeah, same experience here with the accounts endlessly switching back and forth without actually linking up. (For bug squashers’ reference: trying to link a PC account that’s existed since 2019 with an iOS account that’s existed since today. Alias is visually the same on both platforms, idk about ID numbers but those are probably different. The iOS account hasn’t yet finished Vor’s Prize. I’ve been attempting to link accounts in Firefox on an iPad Air)
