I mean a big machine that just hops around hoping to crush enemies it fails to shoot isn't the most practical thing. I imagine it's main purpose would have been mining and seismic surveying for things.

Points taken but on Thumper's Rare Gem drops are far more better; wouldn't be atleast 1% (in respect of rarity) drop rate/chance for cetus wisp on thumpers? Ostron Standing got away on Kuakas & Condrocs w/o using lures... so wouldn't it be such a bothersome deal?

Farming toriods would argue that the drop chance booster is the worst. Credits is easily the worst booster. Regardless the fact that the double resource booster isn't a sortie reward is a long standing "issue".
Some weeks I get resource boost on logins and rare rewards from sorties, surprised me that resource drop chance boost exists... really???

Sure its not a bother only focus hunting for it in the plains but having rare fishing & mining resources on thumpers already, why cetus wisp still discluded on thumper's drop table?

My favorite case so far, Round was not updating starting at round 2. By round 4 (still showing round 2) half the players had quit. After several more rounds completed (Round 7 still showing 2), new (different) players were allowed to join mid game. 2 rounds later round updated to 9. Round ceased to update at this point. Received 3 rewards.

Lag, enemies standing still, Saryn spores floating in the air everywhere. I saw a mirage, flanked by 4 headless dolls instead of duplicate images.
Often encounter this (if I'm not a Host) as Ping Hazard situation...

It takes time to melt an armor especially on Sentients possibly avoid your attacks with that hot torch weaponry stuff, so how is it going to work?
