Blink is dead. Long live unavoidable enemy lock ons.

There is no point to playing solo anymore. It's just not worth the frustration of so many failed mission.

Void Traces.
Grindy Mc Grind face of the house of Grind in Grindville, Grindtopia: Has had enough of grinding for void traces and she has WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY mor patience than I do.
I have just spent 5800 VT on the relics for Ash, Vauban, Carrier ETC before I got them all.
I have so far spent 3300 VT on 33 relics trying to get Atlas Prime Neuroptics and still no success.
(I have the WF now But I still have an IOU to a friend for the Neuroptics)
Now I'm Looking into the Kuva Dich and find out that the only actual useful crap in the relics require radiant for it to even be worth while!
Seeing DE has Forced us to do Kuva Missions to get requiem relics so the mods can decay and disappear, wouldn't it make more sense to upgrade the requiem relics with Kuva instead?
Oh, wait, that wouldn't add to the frustration of players, so there's no way in hell DE would even consider it.- 1

Since Kiva Lich and Empyrean have been released I have failed nearly twice as many missions as I had in the preceding 1400(ish) hours of game play.
This has gotten to the point of ridiculous! Since I accidentally activated the first Kuva Bich I have tried to remove it from my game. Since it hit level 3 I found a way to kill it solo and just as it was starting to work, the mission times out and BOOM! MISSION FAILS!!!
The new immortal ancients and their immortal following heavy gunners (Who can survive 11 point blank head shots @ over 18000 non crit damage per shot) Rip away all armour, shield, health and Iron Skin before you can lay down a squad health restore and BOOM! MISSION FAILS!
I'm also losing resources from 5 Planets right now. 'But you get them back when you kill the Kuva Lich' I hear you say and I answer "I CAN"T KILL IT! every time I get close BOOM! MISSION FAILS!" so I guess I'm never getting it back.
Don't even get me started on the Empyrean Strikes Back, where loading into the FIRST mission, yes that's right, during the loading screen, BOOM! MISSION FAILS! This I have suffered more than once and it gets worse from there in that crap hole disguised as content.
I'm barely even able to help newer players anymore because I can barely help myself.
I'm at my wits end trying to play this game. I thought that WAY before hitting MR26 (where I am now) I'd have the ability to play with some force, but no. It's just getting more and more frustrating. But then again, as far as I can tell, Frustrating the hell out of the player base is DE's only current objective.- 1

Greetings to all,
Note to readers: Please read the following in a 'matter of fact' tone as that was the way it was written 🙂
To start: At the time of this post, for context, I have 303 Days, 1274hrs of gameplay and am MR25.
So the easy one is RNG. To quote Ford Fairlane: 'It's like masturbating with a cheese grater. Slightly amusing but mostly painful.'
Recently on Prime Time one of the hosts claimed they hated people speed running missions. It was then I realized that DE don't actually deal with the the vast majority of the RNG. Speed runs are the only way to even attempt to deal with it when it comes to getting gear. Anyone who actually plays the game instead of (in what seems to be DE's case) getting everything handed to them on a platter, knows this within a day or two of playing the game.
Suggested Fix: No employee (outside of testing of course) gets any gear or item unless they grind it out like the rest of us.
I'm sure I'm not the only one to point out the difficulty in getting the Axi A6 relics, let alone trying to open the gold. This is another issue with the RNG. It is also my experience that adding void traces to a relic is how you guarantee a Bronze item. Too many times to count have I been involved with a group with 4 radiant relics and we've ALL only received bronze. So for the weeks of nothing but grinding A6 relics, (with the occasional nightwave mission to try to maintain sanity) I have RNG'd 10. I have made them ALL radiant, and the best I have RNG'd is 1 Tipedo ornament. The rest have been bronze. As I understand it, it's actually possible for the gold to NEVER pop.
Suggested Fix: Every time you run a relic, a certain percentage (say 1%) is permanently added to that relic for odds of success for silver / gold. So yes, after opening 98 of the same relic, that relic only gives you gold.
Alternate Suggested Fix: Void traces are added to a relic on a 1 by 1 basis (as we do with focus but: Axi Tree, A6 Relic, Add Traces) until, when full, gold is guaranteed. eg: every 10 traces added equals a permanent +1% chance for gold.
I like the bonus Standing now added to the Cetus bounties. I don't see a lot of it because in any mission where a 'Defend the Area' with bonus of 'Stay above 50%' is included, it fails because the RNG doesn't provide enough actual enemies to complete the bonus. This then fails the overall bonus which just leads to more frustration.
Suggested Fix: Remove the 0% enemy drop chance from the RNG for that (and any similar) missions.
In Short, the RNG is just DE's version of school yard bullies playing piggy in the middle with your favorite hat. You could go buy another one but they'll take that too and start throwing that to each other, keeping it just out of reach.Speaking of which, I have to wonder if someone has swapped the definitions of 'Frustrating' and 'Challenging' in the DE dictionary. It certainly seems that way from here. 😉
Cephalon Simaris hunts are all well and good I suppose but they are, for the most part, really just meh. Even with the addition of a Riven, still just meh. The Simaris research on the other hand was worth doing because it actually added to the universe. Back story, logs, general info. Now THAT is worth seeking out targets for. It should also be said the making the Simaris Console decorations actually function when placed would be really cool and I would certainly check in on it more often.
Nerfing the Catchmoon. WHYYYYYYYYY? It's pretty much the only weapon in the ENTIRE GAME that makes the upper echelon grinds mildly sane. If you want people to use differing weapons, improve other weapons up to the Catchmoon standard. Nerfing it only removes playability, not increases it. Hell, if the Cassowar did that sort of damage I wouldn't use anything else because I usually love playing melee. If it wasn't for MR, 99.9% of the weapons and probably 85% of the warframes in this game serve literally no purpose whatsoever. The more you nerf, the more useless you create.
Melee. As I said, usually my preferred mode of combat. This game taught me to avoid it though. Mostly crap mechanics eg: any movement was filmed by an epileptic 3 year old during a seizure so will more often throw you over an edge than it will send you towards a target, let alone allow you to hit them, and no actual damage to speak of. I developed a system for testing usefulness of melee weapons: If, with minimum mods, at level 0, it can't one shot a container in passing, it's useless. Guess where that left melee?
Suggested fix: Play the Cassowar. If a melee weapon doesn't at minimum work that smoothly, it's only MR fodder and people won't play it.
In closing, I do like the game, the hours I've put in should show that, I can see a lot of room for improvement though and I'd like to see the game grow.
If you made it this far, thanks for your time, 🙂
