    Just turn down teammate effects

Target acquisition is made more difficult by the fact that frames can have different silhouettes and color schemes.  I'm not struggling as it is, but it'd be nice if I didn't have to deal with any of that bullS#&$.  Turning down teammate effects limits the glare, but does not solve the issue.

I could see the value in a "default appearance" option, but really only in places like Conclave where stuff like target acquisition and knowing what other people are using is actually important. And even then, plenty of competitive games (I'd say nowadays most) allow for a lot of cosmetic options so it'd have to be like a really hardcore e-sports setting for it to really matter. So while this is well beyond the scope of this setting, like with hiding spoiler content and content with a lot of performance costs/vfx mentioned a few times earlier if they have the ability to hide an item for one reason then they have the ability to hide it for any other reasons as well.

I'm a fan of Conclave, as new to it as I am, and I'd greatly appreciate it as a feature.

If only they could "hide" the Ignis Wraith as well.

  3. I feel like the easiest implementation of this feature, for DE, at least, would be one which strips all frames to their base versions, devoid of any cosmetics whatsoever.

Given that this would be an optional feature, I'd wager that the number of people using it would not negatively effect the motivation for others to make their frames fashionable, especially because much of the attraction of a third-person game, in the aesthetic sense, is seeing your own character.

This I strongly disagree with. I barely play the game any more, and it's not because I ran out of "things to upgrade." By this point, I buy most of my stuff with money because the issue is the exact opposite - I ran out of stuff to DO. Grind is not content. Throwing items at my head isn't content. I'm trying to be as explicit as possible here, so - I couldn't give two S#&$s about what else Warframe has to reward me with, because I don't give a rat's ass about rewards and never have. Playing for rewards - treating this game with a transactional relationship - is precisely what's burned me out every time I've walked away.

The problem is that a player trying to play Warframe for fun will quickly realise that there's really not very much to this game. There are a thousand variants on maybe three mission types. We have a litany of tools for fun action combat, yet gameplay comes down to bringing enough of the right numbers and ideally involves us as little as possible. There's plenty of visual customisation, but there's next to no gameplay customisation, to the point that I have to use Liches as a ghetto-difficulty-setting. Almost everything that releases does so with next to no substance to it. DE almost never go back to add substance to existing systems, instead ploughing ahead with new ones.

Mechs were the thing for a hot minute. I love those things, but I still can't use them in missions. Archguns were a thing for a while, but they fell by the wayside. Operators were supposed to be a thing, but the less said about them the better. Railjack is about the only recent addition that's received persistent support, and the closest we've had to a compelling new feature. That's just about the only thing I still care about, because it manages to give me new things to actually DO. I get to use my Necramechs, I get to use my Archwing, I get to use my Operator on occasion (due to using the Necramech), I get to do more than grind the same mission over and over again. Hopefully there's more stuff coming with the Sisters of Parvos.

Warframe's problem is that - with very rare exceptions - DE prioritise grind over content. Here's one new mission type. Now do it 300 times so that you can earn this thing that has a 5% chance of dropping on Rotation 20. I still have nightmares about the Granum Void, and now I'll be dealing with it again for the Sisters. NOT looking forward to that. This game has such a massive body of content it's staggering, but its own progression system funnels us through only one piece of it at a time. And for those of us who defy progression, there really are no features on offer since the majority of content is too low-level to be fun, or too hardass hardcore to be approachable. If you would just let me run any node of my choosing at level 80-ish without the ridiculous Steel Path buffs or Acolytes, I could do that all day.

Game rewards are just bits of, well, bits, why play if the content itself is dry, sparse, and padded out through grinding?

  5. Jesus, Warframe players are spoiled as hell.

They're cosmetic offerings exclusive to Prime Gaming members, this is a common occurrence in terms of promotion across many games.

They're free for Prime Gaming users, the same policy that exists for the Prime Gaming offerings in, say, Valorant.

  7. It would be nice, in my opinion, if more forms of player influence over the story and real reasons to cooperate with other players were added back in, even if it means a return to the inter-clan conflicts of old.  Imagine if the Fomorians still *meant* something.  That's what I'd like to see in a vision for Warframe; more reasons for players to try to influence the story and the game's universe, and a game robust enough to accommodate community-driven story development.

Putting all that aside, the game should probably come out of beta first ;D

  8. To be honest, as long as I'm having fun, I don't mind "AFK" players, it just means more enemies for me to kill.  I don't even get irritated, I just leave the squad happy that I dealt the most damage, and earned top stats.

Friendly reminder that this is off topic, and as such topics don't have to pertain to Warframe.

On topic: I enjoyed what I played of No Man's Sky, but the VR is incredibly poorly optimised last I checked, put me off the game a bit. When that's fixed I'll probably get back into it.

My bad, I apologize.  I forgot which forum this had been posted in, no rudeness intended,

  10. Reputation grind is no worse a form of grind than many others. Heck, at least there are defined goals aside from "play MOT 34 times for three hours each until you can build a chair out of your control modules".  Personally, I find reputation grind one of the less mind-numbing things in this game we call Warframe.  Consider the fact that Solaris United and The Ostrons allow you to grind in a variety of different ways in beautiful, open world environments.  Is the grind long? Yes, it is.  But, this, being a looter MMO, is a game where grind is expected.  There is an argument to be made that grind should be reduced, but isn't having something concrete to work for more exciting than rolling Void exterminate missions for the possibility of an Ayatan?
