  1. Its not particularly hard but can take some time which is fine imo, bugs ofc should be fixed.

Me and my brother once chased one of the flying birds with archwing and tranq rifles for 10 minutes while trying to hit it while screaming at the top of our lungs, rarely have that much fun in warframe nowdays. This challange in particular can atleast be fun.

No NW challenges are not even remotely hard or time consuming really, they been adjusted to take less and less time for no other reasons than "i cant be bothered" can we just keep em as is please? (Not the forma and gild "challange" they where just awfull)

  2. Rapid fire ogris pulse rifle with amazing crit stats for hunter munitions with rockets that wont arm untill out of harms distance and set to become an absolute monster with a riven mod. Its a good cannon fodder killer and hunter munitions helps deal with tougher opponets but this gun falls short against units that favour precision over power such as Ruk, Noxes and whatnot. You compared it to a kitgun, kitguns are hoplessly unblanced into the overpowered levels.

As a answer to your question, its the aoe on the gun that makes it amazing in most players eyes.

Very good and very illustrative post!

Couldent be bothered to check and edit for typos, mostly because i went to get dinner and forgot about it.

I will probably take up archery again later but havent found anything that captures my full attention yet like your friend did 😛

I rather pass on that talk, would take way too much time and pose more questions than it gives answers, been there before hehe.

  4. You originally asked why people keep playing the game despite done everything of worth for the time being in the game. A lot of your responses lean torwards instead finding accomplishments in real life that could provide you with emotions and personal reward. However everyones real life does not always look the same, it could be vastly diffrent to each others and sometimes following whats good for you biologically and neurologically does not always guarantee psychological well being, in some cases this is not even possible. A lot of your responses have been orbiting around this so one could take it as if youre telling people how to live their life without knowing them. Sometimes harmless help can be hard to take in for some.

Explaining  why somone can stay in the game for so many hours and have fun can be really hard so il try my best without making it too long.

I overhead pressed 100kg, and you have no #*!%ing clue how amazing that feels - it feels beyond ANYTHING, it's complete domination, the ultimate atom bomb of emotions of every kind overwhelming you - at least for me. Why do you have to fly, how is not the feat of going beyond your limits enough? Have you tried something like this?

You have a good description here so im going to use it.

I work as a carpenter, i tried judo and i done archery for a while, i like bicycling and moving around but have no interest in any of it to for example gain muscles or become really good at putting arrows in one spot to the point where you could call it an major accomplishment in life. Have never really got that bomb of emotions of feeling of reward doing any of it either. I thought about maybe putting my imagination to work by writing a novel or a book or something but never got to that point, i just have no interest in writing a story, maybe that will change in the future. I got some social anxiety and aspergers syndrome which makes social interactions with others challanging at times on top of having little interest in social interactions with others. I care very little of what others think of me yet i have a strong sense of discipline when it comes to work and doing things for others sake, pretty self contradictory.

Your description of what you feel there is something i can relate to when i invest myself in stories, the emotions you get when you traverse somone elses fantasy and ideas, your own fantasy that starts running rampant and adding, changing or creating new ideas as you experience these ideas. Im a natural dreamer with a vivid fantasy who highly enjoy exploring the story telling ideas of others so from younger years i got heavily invested in cartoons, movies, music and of course games. I looked up in the sky during night at some point in my life to see all the stars with the knowledge of what could be out there  but not why, it had quite an impact of how i see life and its something i will probebly never recover from. I had and have an extremely hard time reading and writing unless i have a interest in its involvement. Games had a large impact on me since you got to explore this idea with a story by yourself, explore the world somone created which gave fuel for my own imagination so i got stuck in it. Naturaly i got invested in pushing limits and taking on challanges in games too.

I was pulled into warframe by a friend over the net and its sci-fi theme cought me entirely, the game kept going forward and you could see the developers care for their game and evolve this idea they have. They built on the story, they raised and set new limits and added more content and mechanics to explore and master which gave room for my own ideas and imagination, in turn i got even more invested. I stayed around for a long time during the years, left and came back frequently as i explored other games and whatnot but at this point im just too invested in the game to just not quit. I reached a point where i mastered warframe and it holds a value to me to the point where i dare link it to somone who for example mastered archery and just does it because they simply like doing archery, it just feels right, maybe because of emotions or another strong reason. Theres a lot of reasons one could be so heavily invested in something that they cant stop doing it, it is not always necessarilly a bad thing and can be something relly hard to explain to somone who do not share this interest or relate to what they feel.

Warframe became a part of me you could say, its the game i probably stayed the longest with among all the games i played and today i just dont have the energy to seek out new games like i used to, todays gaming industry is a mess too. So warframe became a safe heaven i always find myself back in, i do not hate it though, it is from my point of view simply fun.

If you truly want to know why people keep playing the warframe for hours at end you will have to seriously imagine yourself in their shoes so you can relate, something that can be very hard as everyones reason for playing it could be vastly diffrent.

Games are as you say, a virtual world and happens to hold no accomplishments for real life so one could see it as a potential waste of time but what if you have absolutely no interest in accumulating accomplishments in real life? One could find limits to push within games, training reflexes, strategic thinking, puzzle solvment, pushing through challanges with immense willpower, sometimes self inflicted challanges just for that feeling of accomplishment for yourself.

I am awere theres a lot of people who play games which could be a factor to ruining their well being, some play games to relieve stress or for example deal with depression where latter is sometimes caused by sitting infront of a game all day long. Theres a lot of mental health issues among people who cronically play games but also worth noting that theres people who for example spend too much time at the gym that can lead to mental health problems too. Too much of anything isnt good, whats important is to find balance.

Hope this helped to put some illumination and give food for the thought, maybe an answer to your question.

Communication isnt my forte so now im gona sit here and look for typos and things to edit even though i read through this 10 times before posting >_>

The problem is how would you achieve this?

    • Noxes and Bursas are not immune to abilities and often end up unable to fight back.
    • Stalker, Ambulas, G3, Zanuka, etc do not survive long enough for them to ever present a worthwhile threat.
    • The infested Juggernaut is really just an optional roadblock that can be ignored.
    • Even if enemies are more accurate, 99% damage reduction and ridiculous levels of EHP means that they're never a threat until they do an absolutely broken amount of damage.

    So what you have is,

    • Virtually everything needs to be immune/resistant to abilities/knockdowns, etc to be able to pose a baseline threat by prevent players from disabling them.
    • They need a ridiculous amount of health to prevent them from being trivialized from brute force, resulting in slow and annoying fights for everything outside of the pure DPS chasing meta.
    • They have to be able to chase you down so rapidly that ignoring them would obstruct the mission, or completely lockdown all doors to force a fight like Stalker.
    • Do so much damage so that they can actually scratch Inaros, which also means killing half the roster instantly.

Sentients in Lua's Mobile Defense actually encompasses this to a fair degree if we weren't killing them with so much brute force and making their Adaptive armor moot, have ridiculous defense options making their laser disco a tickling lightshow or completely bypassing their ability resistance with a barrage of CC abilities. If you went up against an unavoidable group of Sentients without our busted energy economy, without a meta weapon and without multishot's exponential jump on any frame that doesn't have a busted amount of EHP, the fight is actually quite well set. However, with all our broken mechanics, no matter how much you scale the levels, the fight will always be busted by taking advantage of a few mechanics.

Could give special units immunity to some dramatic ability effects such as Garudas <40% hp instakill, Inaros lifesap ability or Nyx mind controll and then resistances to for example CC abilities, dots, stat changing debuffs with increasing resistance into ummunity on a cooldown for hard CC and heavy stat changing abilities such as equinox calm ability that reduces the damage they deal. Tie damage resistance and immunities to defensive moves they use and have them left with less damage resistances and immunities once you cc them. Give them attacks that have windups and animations in unpredictable behaviours and combos that will punish you heavily if you get hit by them while also being able to stop said attacks by CCing them in the right moment to prevent random cc spamm. Could add flat damage and a %hp/shield damage on their heavier attacks for frames that have hillariously large shield/health/armor pools. Give some attacks they have the ability to dispell sertain abilities and even debuff to make the fight more interesting.

Theres a lot to work with and mixing and matching to get a wonderfull rooster of enemy units among the usuall cannon fodder for more interesting gameplay. Combine it with better AI and youre set. Make them an enemy you have to deal with instead of skipping.

I don't think we need nerfs, other elements need buffs or missions catered to higher geared players.

Enemies just need better AI/accuracy and that will immediately make the game more challenging

20 heavy gunners will spawn in the simulacrum in front of me but only 2 or 3 end up shooting

I'm still in favor of a "hardcore" version of the starchart which has the same missions/nodes but enemies starting at level 150 with more elemental damage resistance, that would really challenge our arsenals

Hes right, introducing interesting enemies with differing and unpredictable attacks could help a lot too.

That would be the case if the builds on YouTube were actually meta, while they most likely aren't.

Hmm, you might be right, i never checked builds on youtube for obvious reasons. How did i not think of that.

Looking for builds instead of learning the games mechanics sounds very casual too me, youre right.

If we're going off the Skana buff we've seen, the base damage was buffed nearly 3.4 times over.  That's far higher than most people get their combo counter unless they set up a build to do just that, and even then, getting the combo counter into the hundreds takes a long ass time.  Everything is going to be fine.

    ^This, so this.

Any melee that isnt a omega-range meta slide melee is going to get buffed, we also get a new heavy attack that we havent even tried yet. Too many players jumping the gun already, i say chill and just try it out. It will be a major improvment unless youre a dedicated meta slave.

  9. Im fine with casual gamers but warframe suffers from a large number of the bad type of casual gamers.

This type of casual gamer im talking about is the one that grown too comfortable with the diffculty presented in the game and goes on a angry fit whenever anything remotely challanging shows up. They demand rewards without having it tied to any challange and get hoplessly offended if somone would have anything they cant get due to challanging content. DE has been catering to this type of casual player for a while now. I even seen experienced, veteran players and hardcore players ask for challanging content without rewards at all just to get talked down by the exact same bad type of casuals iv been describing.

Theres nothing wrong with being a casual gamer in warframe as long as youre not above described type.

What's with the warframe community and trying to redefine common game slang terms?

First people arguing "There is no endgame" in warframe (hint: just cause you don't like a mission doesn't stop it from being endgame), now you ask what casual player in warframe is.

The only answer that matters: Google "casual gamer". That's it, the definition doesn't magically change in warframe. Words have set meanings.

This is true, the definition of "Casual gamer" has not changed, id argue theres diffrent types of them just like theres judging or helpfull veterans.

Casual is a player that copy pastes the first build they find on YouTube and runs through content with the brain on autopilot.

We call these players "Meta slaves", you can be a casual player without having to only use metas.

  10. Acording to the wiki patch history, Garudas Dread Mirror havent had any changes to introduce the multiplier to the Dread Hearth damage, its a wiki though so could have missed adding that. If i recall right it always had that dread heart damage multiplier.

Its a cool ability though, love the synergy, shes suited for a melee playstyle too if you like to live dangerously. Trust me though, shes far from broken considering everything else thats available in the game.

  11. No, the ground finnisher on enemies lands wrong 8 out of 10 times and deals no damage. They are changing the finnisher system to a universal wristblade later on so i did not adress the ground finnisher matter due to it probebly being resolved with the new system. They showed the wristblade in the Empyrean update with the kuva lich so we could see that new finnisher as early as then. Its a valid point though.

I usually execute a ground slam on grounded enemies for maximum fatality.

  12. Alright so lets start with Garudas ability, the damage capture multiplier on her Dread Mirror is 2.0, she steals 10% of the enemies hp and adds it into her dread heart multiplied by 2.0. Her dread heart damage captures 20% of the enemies health as damage as intended, this multiplier is effected by power strength.

    eevoolk.png 8VrukT1.png

Above are two pictures of the Dread Mirror ability description, left one uneffected by any mods and right one effected by Blind Rage giving +99% power strength for a total of 199% power strength, effectivly double the strength. You can see that the capture multiplier is 2.0 (capturing 20% of enemies health as damage) and its 3.98 (capturing 40%~ of enemies health as damage). Dread Hearth doubles the captured damage upon instant kill which would mean 40% with default values and 80% with 199% power strength.

Your first post in the topic is literally explaining that your Garuda is working EXACTLY as intended with 200% power strength. Adressing this in bug section of the forum in the manner you wrote it legit looks like a troll post. Please read ability descriptions and possibly wiki them too. Now it would be diffrent if you get those values with a default 100% power strength. Remember that Void Fissure buff yields 2x your current power strength and range, some frames buff abilities can also raise ability strength, Nidus and Equinox for example.

Below is some examples with pictures in a spoiler to reduce text wall.

    Spoiler

    xmLvN6a.jpg

    ziGeeLM.jpg

First pic is with default power strength and second is instand kill with default power strength on a corrupted heavy gunner wich health at level 100 is 89 572 (acording to wiki calculator). The captured damage value follows whats described above.

Below here are pics where 199% power strength was used.

    R3Klfr4.jpg

    tfPfYVJ.jpg

    The numbers checks out.

    CQXwzLY.png

And dont put the word effort into this, Garuda recuires more effort to pull this off while putting herself into the danger zone in higher diffculty missions where other frames could do the same job faster and with less effort. Not to mention all the weapons and combo strats with gear doing a better job for less effort and cost.

So asking again, did you do any research on the matter at all before posting? Because to me it looks like youre the one who have no idea what youre talking about.

  13. Please construct your topic in a better manner adressing the issue with more information rather than what legit looks like a troll topic.

As for your claim, i have not noticed anything like what youre describing and i play Garuda quite a lot. I will see if i can recreate this in simulacrum and see if it really does steal more than intended.

  14. So Octavia isnt broken with scaling feedback damage while invisable with a regenerating energy buff after casting abilities?

Maiming strike leaving most frame abilities irrelevant?

Catchmoon literally stronger than any other secondary in almost all areas?

Saryn stronger than any other casterframe?

Why is this is in PC bug thread?

Did you make any research at all prior to posting this?

    Is this a troll topic?

    ugh9OC0.png

Dont answer any of the questions, i pretty much know the answer to all of them.

  15. Most of you viewing this expects its about the weapons gimmick but thats not it.

All melee weapons change your momentums direction upon executing a slide melee wherever it is on ground or in-air, but tatsu is missing this part.

Heres a clip showing how every melee weapon behaves while executing slide melee in air to change momentum direction, it behaves the same on ground, changing your direction of momentum following your aim.

    KyRUOYT.gif

Heres a clip where i am using Tatsu to execute same actions.

    ewsQg6O.gif

Tatsu just seam to miss this feature.

I tested with following melees: Skana Prime, Glaive Prime, Mios, Arca Titron, Gram Prime, Scoliac, Sheev, Sarpa, Fang prime.

I assume this is the same for all melees apart from Tatsu, it has been like this from day one of Tatsus release. Some clarity whatever this is intended as we move into melee 3.0 or if this is just indeed a bug and could possibly be fixed would be awesome.

The melee slide in-air can be a big part for momentumstacking and soaring through maps and tilesets as it allows you to change direction in-air if you miss a doorway right after you bulletjumped or executed a bulletjump + double-jump + rolldodge which locks you from most other movment actions in air as you keep going into whatever direction youre currently going in. I know this since i do this a lot and since i started liking Tatsu this really hurts.

Would love to hear if anything could be done for this.

more accurately he lost the popular vote but that's beside the point

Just using the blanket notion everyone is dumb as a defense for why we should or shouldn't do something is just an entirely meaningless and nonconstructive response. If you disagree with what people want, use your words to explain why, rather than making sweeping statements that are impossible to actually file logic onto much less create a discussion off of.

I can agree to a degree DE does have an issue with trying to appeal too hard to casual players, but in that same sentiment I don't think the issue is the general notion of appealing to casual players, but just how far DE seems to believe they have to go to make this game facilitating for a casual crowd, and in that regard I think they've gone overboard. Casual or hardcore players still want to have an engaging experience when they play a game, they want to be pushed into some kind of involvement that makes the experience memorable, and DE have gone so far in watering down the difficulty of this game that even for a casual experience the engagement this game has falls off immensely fast. You do the first few planets, unlock a few weapons and frames, and then you're already at a point where you can aoe splash through the rest of the game with minimal involvement as near everything dies before even registering as alive in the first place. Assuming you aren't hard carried (voluntarily or not depending on if you have public matchmaking enabled) beforehand. Then as you progress further the game becomes just less and less interesting as everything becomes more and more self handled, and even team play becomes redundant outside the most niche of instances.

They aren't really even appealing to casual players, just the very newest players. Everyone else gains little from the direction we have been going.

I could make a lot of examples in carpenter terminology why somone inexperienced insisting to do things their way and thus fail or screw up and ignoring the advice or teachings of experienced carpenters would legit have the new guy on the job fit the description of being a dumbass. What differs them from a non-dumbass is somone listening to and improving instead of complaining.

New/Casual player takes on challanging and hard content, fail, complain its too hard instead of trying to improve, research, try again, learn and grow then i will legit see that person as either somone venting their frustation or a dumbass. Neither of the described players should be a deciding factor of what content should look like.

I dont have much to say for the second part as i agree with it besides the new player and casual player part. New players can be hardcore players eager to learn and improve, casual players usually do not devote as much to the game and thats fine. The issue is that the bad spectrum of casual players are complaining they cant get rewards or do hard challanging content the devoted/experienced players can so DE listens to them and suddenly we have no rewards for devotion nor any hard or challanging content.

I see it as lazy players wanting same rewards and being part of same thing as heavily devoted, skilled and experienced players, that imo is an issue.

"-Why is Jared getting a higher pay than me? We are both carpenters."

"-Jared worked as a carpenter for 10 years and hes highly skilled and devoted to his work, you could start by atleast coming to work at time"

    Good for EA.

    DE is not EA, however.

Also, again, if a practice is "bad" in the majority's eyes, then the majority will stop funding said practice, and the game will fail...and no more will be made.
Since this game is still going, clearly the majority enjoy it, and thus whatever DE is doing is working just fine to keep the game alive....otherwise, they'd change or close down.

    I don't know why that isn't apparent.

The majority also said Trump is good but we all know that majority are usually as dump as rocks :^)

The majority of gamers today are casual gamers who play games because its cool to play games, its "hip". Games are easier to get into today and thats great but when devs starts catering to the casual gamer only they lose the more hardcore and devoted players. The players that stay around for the longest dissapears and the casual players in question arent even comparable to them in terms of devotion.

You can solve this by listening to and create content for both groups and thats what DE is currently failing at, they cater to the casual side only. The experienced players looking for hard and challanging content complain theres noone while the newer/casual players tell them to go to other games if they want a challange. The reversed situation is where new/casual players ask for easier diffculties or complain the game is too hard and the experienced players tell them to git gud.

Noone of the examples are ideal but if i had to pick one id be on the git gud side.

"If you first fail, try again, nothing is impossible for the working man."

Stop with the doomsday prophecies.  "Casuals" are not bad for the game...they often help keep the game funded.  DE is a business first and has been doing fine, and even improving, for 6 years now.  Warframe is not going to suddenly die just because you can kill a boss with your op guns.  Chill.

Thats part of the thinking EAs top managment likes, its what made EA to what we see them as today. Guess we all have our preferences :^)

If you dont get what i mean, research up on monetizations of video games with microtransactions and reward shortcuts directed for more casual costumers/players, literally EA in a nutshell. Business before absolutely anything.
