  1. The servers are RAID10 configuration, 2TB each, 32GB mem. 7 of them for the api/database. Most of our problems are poor data organization in the face of global write locks. That has changed now. We do SSD for dev drives but our DBA directives were favor memory over disk (since the db is memory mapped with scheduled disk commits). We are going to try SSDs next though (and building another rack of servers)!

Its not hardware (ok it was once) but the primary problems are data organization. That, and listening to Fire Woman by The Cult too much. :)

Thanks for the support! I appreciate your notes and trust me, we are pulling out the stops to make this better.

Sounds like Hamster talk to me!

  2. So I haven't played since update 7.5 because I'm waiting for Update 8 to hit for the reset so I can experience the game at a more complete state.. So I really have no idea what difficulty level the game is at the moment, but what they really should implement is a system that caters to all players solo and group.. They need a difficulty that if someone joins your game, it gets harder, if another person joins the game, it gets a little harder again, if someone drops.. the difficulty goes down..

  3. Is anyone else having a hard time getting certain resources, to finish that blueprint for the weapon you've been dying to have? And you friends just seem to have an abundance of it? Well what if there was a market where players could sell their excess resources to other players? I personally think that it would be a great idea.

    Your thoughts...

Definitely a big no in my book, I dont even think they should have in-clan tradeing.. the whole game right now at the moment is fixed around gathering resources and pushin out blueprints.. kinda would ruin it a bit imo

  4. Oh you bet your damn &#! that i agree with you. Scott said on the livestream that DE wants to make the game perfectly balanced for both coop and solo players. And Scott is the guy that makes the things we hate in the first place.

But you have to give something to their rethoric... it actually looks like DE is balancing the game to us, which indeed might be making it too easy for them. Matches need to scale according to how many players there are and up the difficulty accordingly.

This would fix the solo issues right off the bat I think you should post your own thread about it so more people pay attention to what you just said.

  5. LOL @ this post.

Level up, mod everything out with mods you find, and then talk, especially melee weapons I guarantee your gonna shred everything up.. :) as of right now the end game of warframe is crazy OVERPOWERED, you just dont die with the passive shields and the mods you find..

  6. Mr. Quayle, it's potato.

Yeah, that's why so few people played Diablo 2. Because it's too hard. Made them cry. Diablo 2 was a total failure because it was so hard.

    No.

    GGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!! @ THAT COMMENT

It broke the guiness world record in the year 2000 for fastest selling video game with 2 Million copies sold within the first 2 weeks, that was unheard of then.

and people literally played this game for 10+ years.

Your statement is null and void, obviously "YOU" thought it was too hard, so you say its a failure.

  7. I went dual heat swords as my very first weapon cause I wanted something fast and really wish I had gone dual zorens once i got them later... Dual zorens so op if your looking for faster attacks. But Fragor owns all.

  8. TF2 ? Why would you even mention TF2 or put Warframe + Path of Exile into the same sentence? :P

    I should smack you lol

But all jokes aside TF2 is not a prime example of what I was saying for all the reasons that you mentioned.

    TF2 Is strictly PVP

TF2 Is owned by Valve who is rich beyond belief

TF2 has ingame tradeing (that is one thing i agree with, Ingame tradeing should never be implemented)

TF2 Is a gateway as you mentioned for people to discover steam

You should look more into Path of Exile as the prime example, they are doing fine with strictly cosmetic items because of the support they get from their dedicated community and happy players that will be there for years to come! They have stated that they want to spend 5 years building the game and 5 years maintaining, and they started with "founders packs" just as Warframe did. It's extremely possible to get the support needed to do these kinds of things nowadays with websites like Kickstarter + Founders packs + Cosmetic Items its absolutely plausible even with a tight budget, it comes down to if the game is good or not, which this one is no exception, its awesome and obviously has a dedicated player base that can support the game without having to pay for convienence and giving everyone a level playing field.

  9. Sound advice there Hero, but for the record let it be known that I never said Warframe was p2win! Not that you said I said that, just throwin that in there haha.

Anywho if they ever do implement pvp environment like Gunz or other P2W games like that, having just cosmetics in the item shop would give everyone a fair chance at getting whatever they perceive as the "best pvp warframe and weapon set" because everyone would have the right to grind for said equipment of their choosing.

Its just a better system all around for almost every aspect of a game, and allows the them to implement things without giving people an advantage when they pay outright.
