Y'know, I've been thinking about the problems on effigy and spectral scream, and it's been a while since I've last played but the changes of vex armor applying to both of those skills are very welcome. There are a few glaring issues on it still, and I wanna point out some things: First of all, Effigy doing the displacement wave feels... completely out of place. Effigy has a small AoE which if you clump enemies up you get rewarded by doing "exponential" damage, which in term makes him viable for SP. Then there's the thing that if you do things to clump up the enemies as close as possible to the Effigy, instead of being rewarded with huge DPS, it just keeps spamming that wave over and over again losing a LOT of DPS for it. Second of all, on the same note, while Effigy being a "point defense" turret being really nice, the stun roar could be more controlled, much like Atlas' Titanic Rumbler augment. Sometimes you just want the damage, sometimes you really want the CC for some clutch moments. Having no control on this feels terrible. The change on the vex armor interacting with both effigy and spectral scream are really nice, but that also beckons that interaction of Effigy with Spectral scream itself would be nice, or with Elemental Ward: The primary target hit by spectral scream could force the effigy to focus on only using the breath attack. You could put the bonus of dealing some sort on damage bonus, or having some elemental interaction. But at least using spectral scream as an AI control, while I think wouldn't be the ideal way, it would solve a problem as a minimum. About interacting with elemental ward, while being a little less necessary, it could be VERY welcome. Have some effect on the effigy like stat change, or just apply the elemental aura on it regardless on where it is. Not necessary, but it would be a good bonus. Last, by DEAR GOD, rework those augments. The only augment that is worth investing is everlasting ward. Afterburn having a maximum damage makes it useless on PvE. Make it a conclave only mod and give something else for PvE :c Nezha's pyroclastic flow is literally that mod but objectively better. I'd prefer to soften up my words on this matter, but I just can't. :c Vexing Retaliation is counterintuitive for Chroma builds. Stacking strength is all the focus for Vex Armor to give the best bonuses, but the range becomes minimal if you do that, and Vexing Retaliation depends on range, so it rarely is considered a choice. And while I get the point that Puncture and Blast are procs to reduce the damage you take, you will rarely deal with enemies for that long. Most of the time the focus will be better CC or killing the enemies, so just debuffing them isn't really worth it. And the can of worms keeps getting deeper, because there isn't much leeway to buff it in a way that is meaningful, because as stated before, you'd need to sacrifice strength or duration to put more into range for the mod to be interesting. Changing it to give 10 stacks of both puncture or blast when either proc would be a good change, but not entirely sure it'd be enough. Guided Effigy has a good idea on giving control of position without needing to recast, but that's it. I feel that giving control of the effigy should be a base skill, but regardless of that opinion, the control it has is reaaally clunky, while I feel it adds very little to the gameplay. And on that one, I gotta say I'm stumped on what could change. The moving the effigy around feels like it should be a base thing like Rhino's Iron Shrapnel resetting Iron Skin, but that'd remove the need of the augment entirely, and I can't think of any way to change it properly. At least make it feel more responsive I guess, because right now using it feels clunky af as it sometimes just ignores the movement. And a small afterthought, since Chroma loses half his armor to cast effigy, making half of the Scorn bonus be added to the Fury, at least for the Effigy would be a very nice addition too. Would keep the concept of the skill and make it a risk-reward thing. And since min-maxing Vex Armor also gets efficiency on low priority, it could become a bonus setup for a Nuke with Chroma. Anyways, the biggest problem I feel that we have is that effigy's lack of control makes it really frustrating to play with, and that spectral scream feels like a placeholder ability given that the damage isn't that good even with the vex armor buff, and it lacks any interaction with the rest of the kit to make it compelling. Even worse that you don't wanna subsume it because you'll lose the element swap mechanic. So giving more control for effigy and have spectral scream at least interact with the Effigy would be very good. The augments can be kept for future moments. 😅
