  1. Ahh but you see, when I use my soul punch on my allies, it revives them (well, when they're downed at least). Nekros' soul punch is a versatile tool of soul manipulation then, not only can he punch them out (sometimes), but he can also punch them back in, or maybe just infuse an ally with his own.

p.s. Nekros probably isn't in conclave because like, all of his abillities except for his first are sort of very NPC interacty.

  2. Good for Hek during LoR, where you can do a prisma/twin grakata setup and flick back and fourth between them.

Another good use is for high-RoF secondaries for shield poping when you've got a low RoF primary. F, unload the mag, F, shoot negator.

A number of weapons can reload faster, sure, but there's also those that reload slower. Akmagnus is a good example, and really benefits from it, as it's high burst can be used on a heavy, then switch back to main for sustained. All the LMGs also benefit quite heavily from it.

Generally, you get the best benefit out of it if you have two weapons both with it equipped, or one weapon with a niche and fast reload, and the other set up to counter that niche with the reload mod equipped. Good example is having the sancti-tigris as your main weapon, then a Lex-P or some other long range secondary with reload mod. Most of the time, you'll be using your primary for the heavy lifting, but the secondary will always be at the ready when you switch.

The damage loss can impact the effectivness though, and it's not exactly a cheap mod to slot. I see no issue using it with the current unmodded switch speeds (though I'd happily accept a increase in holster speed).

The big thing is that you rarely ever need to sustain that much continuous firepower.

  3. -snip-

That's pretty cool actually. Ruk sees us as treasure hunters and mercinaries as well, which matches up with this.

That being said, some people enjoy discussing this lore stuff or debating about it. If you don't, then you can probably avoid threads like this anyway.

That being said, generally I go with the "Tenno are souls" Theorey. That is, tenno are former humans who were exposed to the void, resulting in a state of life independent of their body. They can't go from body to body freely, and need to have a neural system close their own original body's. While they can revive the body they have using their space-magics (Oro based revival), they can't exactly escape from containment in any other way, meaning if they don't have another body attuned to them, they can be trapped and eventually killed.

Unsurprisingly, this means that the warframes themselves are quite human physique wise, but consist of a composite of engineered infested flesh and technological based implants and chassis to both enhance the capability and to keep the infested flesh under control, rather than the reletavely harder to manufacture 'pure' flesh. Stuff like Valk are like that because we don't have the original blueprints, which have been lost to time (well, technically germsi skin, but yeah). Tenno aren't exactly well versed on the creation of warframes, which are significantly more complex than the guns that we design. The exceptions are Volt/Banshee/Zephyr, who are in the tenno lab, but it can be inferred that we have enough original copies now to reverse engineer the design. The number of original valkyrs running around is probably too small to reliably create the original warframe blueprints from, whereas the altered design blueprints are likely more completely recorded because Alad V was almost certainly taking notes when dissecting Valkyr.

That being said, it's really only a theory, and there's no evidence really stopping it from being body morphing suits like Guyver or such.

  4. You haven't seen gigantic ammo drain until you've seen synoid gammacor.

Actually, Galaxion drains ammo even faster and does less damage. Flux rifle isn't as efficent per ammo count either (does 22.5 compared to 28, though it's not magnetic damage), but does shoot slower. Neither has a signficantly better status chance than the synoid either.

I mean, the beam secondaries aren't really in that much of a better position, and the continuous beam weapon calculations has been gimping all beam weapons for a long time.

  5. Actually, there are four competent beam weapons: Opticor, Atomos, Quanta and Quanta Vandal.

Everything else is underpowered because DE is unintentionally discriminating against lasers.

Opticor isn't really a beam weapon in the traditional sense.

    Atomos is a sidearm.

Quanta and Vandal are quite good yeah, not as high damage as other guns, but crazy ammo efficient.

Hell, even the synapse is workable, and the Amprex with its crazy high damage. Phage is strong, but has its its drawbacks.

Then we have stuff like the Convetrix, and even worse, the Flux Rifle and Galaxion. Both of which are clantech items with gigantic ammo drain, yet both deal a pittance of damage and are terribad at any decent combat role.

  6. Fun but nah. Flying around in it can be plesant, but the grind for weapons is worse than void grind most of the time. Pewpew is hard though, which makes doing the missions more of a chore at times. Needs more intergration though, flying from ship to ship would be badass, but hard to transition on.

  7. That's because those are the three big fears.

Others (The empire), yourself (The greedy) and the Environment (The wild). Well not really, but you can see how well rule of threes works.

Orcs, Dwarves, Elves is another trio. It's just a really common trope.

Regardless, as you've noted, it's exceptionally common because of the nature of writing anything. Being creative isn't specifically hard, but being original is. Warframe does it mainly via its asthetic, using very organic and flowing shapes against highly ordered shapes. Good fiction is rooted in expectations to allow a viewer to make connections and immerse themselves, before you bombard them with complex ideas. That's why preconceptions exist.

As people earlier in the thread have noted though, practically everything has been done. You just weren't there to read it. Like seriously, go ahead, give us an example of a race that isn't overdone at some point.

  8. Did you put Stabilizer or Vile Precision on it? I fire it fully auto, so it kinda kicks like a mule for me. This is weird.

Of course not, thing needs all the damage it can get. It kicks about as much as the karak or soma do, which is mild shake that doesn't at all affect accuracy. If you want to see real recoil, take the buzlok out for a spin. Or a latron prime with RoF mods.

  9. Why don't you try using the weapon lol

Having four forma'd the normal tetra, the gun has recoil, but nowhere near the scope of "High" recoil. It's closer to a dera with slightly more recoil. And the dera has no recoil.

Quick test pending, but I'm pretty sure the recoil hasn't changed since I last used it.

Yeah, the recoil is still tiny.

  10. Has the fix hit already because I still have my mod.

The fix will probably hit the next time your game gets an update. Which means at minimum, a week, though probably a bit longer. Assuming they can't script it out somehow in the mean time.

    what about ps4?

    Same deal probably.

  11. Grab a friend and do your daliy quests worth 6k. You can't get it all out at once, but generally there's about 6-12k of easily farmable rep in em. Two matches will get you a significant amount, and about 4-5 days will get you up to max rank. If you're not concerned about maxing out the rank, most of the usable mods are in Tier 3 anyway, and only cost 15k, plus you get one for ranking up.

That being said, doing average in a Annhilation only gets you around 500 or so rep. Doing average as a starter is pretty decent, but 500 rep is a bit of a downer for anyone starting out. Higher rep rewards would make people more inclined to try it out if they were usually only PvE. These are the sort of people who would only want around 1/5 or less of their playtime to be PvP. And if you are just playing conclave for the thrill of fighting other conclavers, I don't imagine you should really mind. I mean, higher rep will help people get started out anyway.

I feel it'd be good if they upped it by 2 or 3 times, but that's personal opinion, and I've already grinded out the two mods that I was really after (the pistol and rifle holstered reload mods).

  12. The only coincidence is he loves weapons no one else does. Prisma Panthera next lol. I mean hes gonna upset DE if he offers a Prisma Boltor or Prisma Carrier, people buy plat just to get those ;-)

Grakata was very much loved by other people as well, even prior to twin/prisma variants.

Detron was another relatively solid gun. Lots of outrage about mara detron, since it is literally a better detron.

  13. Sadist confirmed?

I only like strong weapons that have recoil. Weak ones just feel... weird.

    Consider the boltor prime.

Now consider the boltor prime with strong recoil. A manly gun, shooting golden darts without a care. Brutal weapon of a charging golden warrior.

Seriously though, recoil can make guns feel nice, just like the sound. The hek is another good example.

  14. Dont like PVP anyways even if i pwn noobs still dont like pvp in general (nothing to do with WF)

But i do feel like players are being forced EXILUS is example

But nothing compares TO ARCHWING grind (reasons so many of my good friends left game)

Oh hey, AW derail. That being said, both XP wise are pretty bad, not enough kills. AW has the benefit of not having its own rep associated with it.

On the other hand, Conclave has dailies, which makes it much more managable, if you can convince a friend to come be a target for the harder ones (seriously, 12 primary kills in a cephalon capture doesn't seem like much until you remember that it's mostly some dude speed running back and fourth).

Holster reload mods are pretty cool. If you despise trading and have a pal, you can get two of them over the course of like 3 days (grab one from ranking up, then one with rep, they're only 15k)

  15. This is Brave New World is a novel written by Aldous Huxley. Awesome.

Yeah, realised a bit earlier today when I was grinding that BNW was what Orokin society reminded me most of, after reading some of the content in this thread (mostly about the now clearly defined caste system). I mean, it's a bit less "Utopia/distopia"-ish, but with the advent of "Orokin Era Grineer", they seem a lot more simmilar, with very strongly defined caste roles from birth. It's curious as to whether there were non-caste citizens of the Empire though. And there's the Archmedian, which seems to be an earned title, I think.

  16. While it's a long shot, Vay may also be linked to the idea of revolution or change of power. I mean, it's grineer we're talking about. I mean, it doesn't really make sense for Vay Hek, unless he was being dramatic when naming himself (or something?). But My guess would be Vay-kor would be roughly equivalent to "the freedom corps", and Vaytok might be "Taker of Freedom" (as in, taking your own freedom for yourself). That being said, that's based of pretty questionable evidence.

The sudden uprising by the grineer seems like it was arranged by a third party though, or instilled in them somehow. That being said, as Vaytok is (probably) the same Grineer from the Evisorator article, I guess it might not be the case. In which instance, Vaytok is really bad-!, if somewhat brutal. I mean, he may have just realised that the Orokin had been shattered by the state of panic in the tower he was working in.

That being said, if the twin queens were responsible for the uprising, I imagine it would've been brought about by careful manipulation of those overseeing the grineer cloning, allowing more intellegent individuals to slip through without being terminated or removed from the 'pool'.

  17. Because the syndicates are well aware the tenno are functionally immortal. Most of the Syndicate assasins are more of annoying enemies than legitimate threats. They're trying to get you to screw up, because they know that killing you literally achieves nothing.

Red Veil has literally a swarm of parastic exima. Steel meridian sends a swarm of rollers (Stagger for days, though they usually don't get close enough). New loka sends a bunch of big damage sponges with CC. Cephalon Suda hits you where she knows hit hurts (By hoovering up your drops). My guess is that Perrin just sort of cheaps out and Hexis is insulting you (in a roundabout way) by sending what they think you are, a mindless warrior.

  18. You sir, please leave and come back with a friendlier attitude.

Just because they weren't able to fully fulfill that role, but could still mostly complete the role, they should be given the chance, and if they can't do one role, but can the other, then LET THEM!

The host was asking FAR to much of the OP, saying that he HAS to do a 99% damage reduction blessing or they just, couldn't play. NO! That's NOT in the spirit of the game. If the OP can do a strong Blessing Build, that's good enough, even in Nightmare.

It's a GAME. Treat it like one, not like a life or death situation.

NM raid is a pretty intense thing, especially without voice comms.

Host was needing a specific role. OP wasn't informed and didn't know at the time. Host probably figured that recruiting someone who knew the role would result in higher success rate, and would plain be faster, so they booted him. OP now knows that 99% blessing trin is.

Honestly, from my experience, a good core of 4 people in a raid can wing it in a larger group easily on a normal raid. Nightmare raids are a significant amount more difficult, especially given the degree of ability jamming in play, so you really need people to be on point with their roles.

  19. nerfed so much and still so powerful? She must have been absolutely broken before

Yeah, near permanent invulnerability before the age of the Nulifier. Two trinities could chain it together for functionally non-stop.

  20. It's not actually a glitch, that's the intended function. It gives damage resist based on what maximum percentage you heal.

The method of use, exploding yourself and then casting a duration based blessing is an exploit. You're using the mechanics in a way that's sort of not intended.

Would sort of be fixed if we didn't have so much easy self damage, but y'know. That being said, whether it needs to be 'fixed' is a highly debatable topic. It's seen as the legacy of the old Blessing, that used to just give your team full invlun. to damage, but somewhat harder to use.

  21. Pyra prime has always been a bit wonky. That being said, they fixed the positions to be quite a bit nicer a while afterwards, but seemed to have reverted back to the more floaty, abiet, less clippy with back weapons position with the addtion of cloth physics to the pyra prime. Which leaves me with mixed feelings. I mean, it's still sorta decent on some frames (Frost, Rhino), but the change did screw over some others (Loki P is a good example, even if it does clip less with his actual model. Now it seems way too far back and detached)

  22. I just got a gaming PC, however I've been playing Warframe on my PS4 where I'm currently MR11. My question is, is it worth starting over on the PC, since we cannot link our PS4 account with the PC version? I do find the PC experience being a little better, but I the downside is starting from scratch. What do you guys think? Would you just keep playing on the PS4 or start over on the PC?

I'd honestly base it on the plat/prime/exclusive gear you've gotten/missed out on. And syndicate rankings by extension. That being said, while PC does get the more awesome end of stuff (if somewhat more, volatile), personal progress can be a huge timesink, and really, you might not want to migrate over.

  23. No one fraggin' cares whether it was intended or not. If it's fun, it's fun. Combos in fighting games are now a staple of the genre, but they too started out as an unintended behaviour.

Plus, it was kind of nice having a frame where modding for her wasn't the same brain-dead, cookie-cutter affair you have with the other frames.  Lowering duration would seem like a bad thing at first glance would seem like a bad idea, but it actually benefited her.

It was a nice change of pace. I was hoping to see the Devs embrace it and give us more of that style of gameplay where you could build to opposite ends of the spectrum to benefit different skills so that builds would actually have a reason to be varied.  Instead they are wiping that out (e.g. Saryn, Trinity), so that there is basically just one best build for over 90%  with just minor variations.

This viral gimmick isn't even that important since you can just put viral on your guns, and unless I am mistaken, Viral can't even stack any more so being entirely based on Viral is pointless.

Which'd be fine, were it not for the fact that it changed corrupted mods, which are supposed to be tradeoff mods, into pure, extremely powerful benefit mods. There was one build for maximizing sayrn's Damage output, and that was full reduction of duration. No other build for miasma comes close.

Reducing total damage to amp up on a single tic, sure, that's fine. Reducing to a single tic and amping up even greater damage than would be possible isn't, because dealing all your damage in one huge AoE burst is more effective than dealing that damage divided by 5 over time in the same AoE. Except the single burst also did more damage, which made it superior in every mechanic.

Also, if you don't think that viral stacking pretty much breaks the elemental balance, you're a little loopy. It stopped stacking because it literally made it the best proc in the game by leaps and bounds. Even now, it's actually still a very potent proc, especially if your team is stacking corrosive projection.

Viral stacking was much, much too potent not to remove, especially with the very rapid fire proc-guns in play like grakata and twin wraith vipers.

  24. So, apparently, it's available for both. Which is weird, to say the least. Shows up in market as plat, but in buy screen as credits, and gives the option for both. Why you'd want to waste plat on it is beyond a mystery.
