  1. I think if anything this event should set the standard for others like it.

Don't reveal the rewards before the end, otherwise we get all these conspiracy threads, people complaining left and right and alad strongsiding one event at the beginning so hard because of the weapon not the story implications which the team wanted you to make.

But then obviously the whole battlepay reward system needs to be looked at to because of mercs, maybe tiers of contribution points to one side of the event like 1 win, 4 wins, 8 wins, 12 wins for alad/nef consecutively etc.

  2. You have not seen the beauty of a Braton P than.

This, people who go "LOL SOMA/BOLTOR OP" have never felt how fun a Braton Prime with event mods for Viral/Heat is, ontop of them the slash procs and tearing everyone you shoot in half.

But obviously most of the upper tiers of T4S is Torid spamming, T4D is a mixture with heavy CC or dubious Mesa tactics.

  3. Butchers, Scorpions and Prod Crewmen are just absolutely pathetic enemies. While they charge you, you can just shoot them in the face before they can ever get you. They're simply no match for anyone with a gun.

You think you can outmatch a Tenno in melee combat? Think again. But wait, you won't have time to reconsider, because you're already cut in half by a Tenno's blade.

To survive, you need to be able to deflect or block incoming damage long enough to get close and strike them with your weapon, should you somehow be able to prevent being shot to death at point-blank range. Something like a shield. Or if you're a Tenno, with the same melee weapon.

This is what to can be done:

Give melee enemies a shield or the ability to block damage like Tenno can.

    OR

    Remove melee enemies completely.

"Listen to my idea or remove them"

Bit of an ego on you there.

  4. Because for some reason those were chosen as the most powerful frame and weapon a long time ago. Now a days Rhino isn't even close to overpowered, and there is a good case that other some weapons surpass the Boltor Prime, but they are still the by-words for overpowered gear. They have remained a part of the vocabulary since then.

I have no idea why this really is, but to really establish your cool-kid cred you have to loudly talk about how much you hate Rhino and the Boltor. Maybe it's something about them being boring, but that's really a matter of opinion (don't tell some people on here I said that, though. If they ask, tell them I think that the Boltor Prime is awful and, like, the most boring thing ever.)

So much this, the BPrime isn't anywhere near as good as other options including some secondary's we have available to us nowadays.

Rhino was never good he was just a crutch players used on starchart missions, and we all know the hardest missions/enemys are on the starchart and t1-2 missions..right? :^)

  5. I can't belive I have to spell this out.

Now lets say IF OP's idea becomes reality, what happens to the starchart? It becomes redundant. Because of that, you remove it.

Now whatever little progressive this story had is gone.

Where do players go? Well, no point using the starchart seeing as theres no challenge left there, go to the void - you know? The place where ALL OF THE GRIND IS.

You've now pseudo-decreased the grind. Congrats.

    This, is my point.

How have you come to this from saying that players picking an assassination mission they want and reducing the levels to 1-3 and complaining about perceived progression in a game where the actual nodes currently have little relevance outside of a handful of missions spread across for resources and or certain drops?

    Literally moving the goalposts here.

Ontop of that you keep bringing up story like the games current missions are absolutely brimming with lore and not all contained in codex entrys and simmaris scans, and you're not exactly bringing your point home because the new starchart is just going to be a more stripped version of our current one, or is appearing to be that way with the possibility to craft the missions you're after.

And no the argument that "oh you find this peice of paper on a dead guy that tells you Vay Hek is about to steal a bunch of kittens and heres the location" like others are suggesting is also counter intuitive to the same point before you bring this one up.

  6. You've proven my point.

And how is your point relevant to the idea the OP is trying to put across? You've cherry picked a small example that doesn't even work on the CURRENT starchart and tried to use that as an arguing point. Bosses scale and they need to be made interesting and challenging from a mechanical point of view, the story and 'immersion' (lol) is already there in the form of quests and events (which will be reintroduced in the form of quests if I'm not mistaken.)

And in the new proposed idea from Steve of say, corrupted vor floats through the starchart randomly now and then, how is that working towards your point either?

"Tenno, vor is having a vacation on europa this week, go stop him."

    2deep4me story right there.

  7. Again, the point has flown straight over your head. A change like this would reduce grind to the point where there was absolutely no challenge in any aspect of the game. It would just be grind. There would be no player experience.

And how is it not currently? The bosses have never been a challenge any less than they've been bullet sponges with invincibility mechanics (Most of them.) The challenge has always been derived from void content and endless missions past a certain wave/time.

BESIDES THE POINT - Because bosses have always scaled to your level and conclave of your warframe, so your point confuses me to no end anyway. Go fight Vor right now on Mercury report back to me what level Vor is in comparison to the trash mobs of the planet are.

  8. The biggest fallacy in this logic is the fact that higher level players will always be a present factor in low level to high level missions, far out-scaling what the mission needs. So now you have a new player sitting there at MR4 with the regular boltor when he could've had the boltor prime as a safety net and looked towards more mastery options to progress his >>LEVEL<< instead of feeling a detriment to the team whilst someone with an amprex blitzes the mission in seconds.

  9. I think you're missing the point. It may be easy for us, with our vast selection of warframes and weapons, but the point of the end-of-starchart bosses is that you need good gear to deal with them easily.

If a new player can just walk in and experience all there is to have in less than an hour, whats the point in anyone challenging themselves with high-level maps when they can get the same rewards for any level of difficulty?

Sorry, no it is that easy. there are plenty of easy to make weapons at low MR ranks nowadays that could easily carry -anyone- through the starchart once they've finished the first two nodes properly, to say otherwise shows how out of touch you are with what is available to new players as a whole.

  10. I think there needs to be some synergy between Desecrate and Shadows of the Dead, but at the same time the idea of desecrating a body to give you 'ammo' to use in SoTD takes away alot of the 'I want to kill only heavy units with a bow or something and summon them instead of 12 low grunts'

So maybe it's time to give Nekros his own little minions!

And of course make Desecrate tie in with SoTD and Soul Punch.

I can't believe i have to be that guy but if you are playing nekros with only desecrate, you are playing it wrong since terrify is a very good CC.

And about the SotD, having 10 recastable shadows with no duration at any time seems a little bit OP.
Cause the shadows atrracts enemies attention and with no duration, kinda kills the need for the augment mod itself. Enemies near you will target the shadows instead of yourself. Hence the damage miration don't even matter much anymore

My suggestion is to change the max amount of shadows to 2/3/4/5 instead of 10

To play a proper desecrate build is to have no power strength, like it or not you're either effective or a mishmash of mods that's less effective for groups that are after Nekros for one thing, loot.

  11. Begins warframe.

    Sets mission to assassination.

Sets planet to whichever warframe is most wanted.

    Sets level 1-3

Players now have whatever warframe from the starchart they want with no challenge or story involved. Progress is deemed redundant.

Yes because warframes were -SO- hard to get in the first place :) Minus Mesa whom isn't behind a hard boss, just behind a grind.

  12. I think there are far more elegant solutions to the new player problem of having all these planets and no direct sense of progression and direction than nuking it all so that the people that hold your game together could potentially suffer.

If you're going to condense things down you can't say stuff like "oh this boss like vor might be a random event." That just takes away choice from new players and pushes more towards a greedy agenda - Oh a new player wants Rhino? shame that boss might not be in rotation or appear for another x amount of weeks. Better buy him from the marketplace instead!

And if you're seriously going to go through with this there needs to be clear choices for mission types and level ranges. Lowest/Low/Medium/Intermediate/Hard (Being the level 28-30 nodes) and have to contain all the mission types within these category's. You could shave SO much from the star map by just trimming away all the repeat missions from certain planets and then making sure the remaining ones can generate the tilesets from the ones you trimmed away. (Since you brought up Draco you could easily add 2-3 more iterations of the map.)

  13. Limbo. I think situationally, it's got to be Limbo. Simply because of his trolling potential. A player can render another player useless which in a team situation makes the overall team more useless.

Just this morning before I left for work, I was on Akkad playing with a Limbo player. Things were going just fine and then all of a sudden I believe in wave 4 he banished me for like the entire round. And then did the same thing in round 5. Keep in mind it was just me and him.

So here I was for two rounds, and couldn't really do anything. Which sucks, but ultimately is fine I guess if you are going to be able to carry the team yourself. And he did pretty much that in round 4. But in wave 5 he banished my ! and then proceeded to get downed. Long story short, we ended up okay, but the point is things could have gone south. So the potential for Limbo to troll his teammates and make them useless makes the overall team more useless and therefore I have to give Limbo this honor.

You realize you can roll out of Banish, right? also your warframe abilitys that do actual damage still kill whilst banished so its more of a positive on say, Mesa who gets crazy energy regen and made immune whilst she rains down on everything around her.

  14. From a highend gameplay perspective

Saryn, Excalibur, Hydroid, Limbo, Zephyr, Ash, Rhino & Oberon.

These are warframes you never want to take to a 'cheese' group for T4D/S/Inter/Raids. Basically their either selfish classes that offer nothing but to themselves or incredibly outclassed by another warframe or just flatout fall off too early to be anything of an inconvenience.

But outside of those 4 missions and particular keys? Perfectly fine and player knowledge and a proper build (Because that's not kid ourselves about the game being 'skillful') will take you where you need to go.

  15. so on the forums and in gameplay i personally have never seen any other valkyr player use paralysis to one shot high value targets. i have also never seen anyone use synergy by using a unranked life strike and channeling counter attack from paralysis, i mean being able to stagger enemies and also select one to deal over 10K instant kill damage with ANY melee weapons that are modded with over 300 total damage (40K on my galatine) not to mention when going hysteria the same applies.

No, it's just situational. And most valkyrs for whatever reason just make full duration hysteria builds so the need to use it becomes even less.
