  1. I think the main issue for me is that most limbo players I have run into weren't in sorties, arbitration, or other high level content. I mostly see them on lower level missions. The problem here isnt that it makes me change my play style or anything. The problem for me is that they slow missions down to a halt. On any regular mission below lvl 80, or even sometimes higher, enemies die so dam quickly that you don't need cc for the most part. Damage is king in warframe currently. I suppose this is a problem with cc as a whole, but limbo slows things down much more than other cc frames. And this is coming from a vauban main(I actually rarely ever use Bastille/vortex).

Just to show I'm not biased in any way, I like having limbos in arbys, steel path missions, sortie defense, and sometimes in open world content.

  2. I main booben and I'll be the first to tell you the an all around build for him is annoying and somewhat ineffective. Yes the tether coils can help, but it's not worth it. You can always just put a little power str on and use repelling Bastille augment. But other than that, bastille will always feel too small, and when its not, it doesnt hold enough enemies. I use 2 main builds for vauban.

The first is max power str and decent duration. I run this for flechette orbs. You can put 4 flechettes down at once for a good 30 seconds or so each, and they can handle your CC just as efficiently as Bastille, but instead of suspending them in the air, it kills them. Flechette do not need any range either.

The second is max range with decent duration. This is my vortex build. A max range vortex will be just as effective(more-so against infested) as Bastille, and you dont need any power str for it. Plus, you can throw it high up on walls, which helps sometimes when the enemies are getting stuck behind stuff as they get pulled in.

These are the only 2 builds I use. I never even touch bastille anymore. I take vauban to all content except high level spy and just use flechettes 90% of the time. Then, i only really switch it up for infested.

  3. I did a mars spy with max duration Loki. Then I put sprint and enemy radar mods on. I failed it a couple times without understanding why as I didnt engage a single enemy, and didnt trip any alarms. I think that as i bumped into enemies physically(while invisible), it alerted them and they hit the alarms. I'm not sure if this a thing though. Anyways, I took off the sprint mods so I wouldnt be accidentally bumping enemies and i got it on my next try. Again, not sure if thats what was going on, but it seemed to explain my issues.

Personally, I really enjoy Serro as a polearm, since it has a base Electric damage and good status chance when modded with Condition Overload and Heat/Viral damage.

you can't do heat and viral on this weapon. The innate electric would make it viral and radiation . Or wait, am I doing something wrong?

  5. Hydroid is worse off. Granted, he does what he is used for okay, but for most content in the game he's not good. For low level farming, he's okay(with high enough power str). I would even consider him for mobile defense or interception, only because you can mod for mid range(not max range) and the tentacles can CC(this is basically useless on any high level mission where you actually need to kill things, unless youre using a strong aoe weapon to kill the enemies being flopped around by the tentacles). His other abilities always struck me as lackluster, even undertow(again, possibly CC but the damage is meh and takes too long to kill). Yes, I know youre invincible while you're using it, but you're also stuck in place or moving incredibly slowly. On top of all that, he is squishy as hell. I would love to mod for better survivability, but his abilities need such heavy modding to even be effective in lvl 40-50.

All this being said, I love hydroid. I think his theme is great and the abilities themselves are cool. I love his look, also. It's just that he's garbage in everything other than low level farming, or so-so CC when you don't need to kill to move forward in the mission.

Also, if I am wrong about any of this, or if I'm maybe just not playing him properly, please let me know. I love hydroid and I'd appreciate any advice or anything about it.

  6. I like the mara detron. I take mine to sorties and any other content I play. The radiation from it provides great crowd control once the enemy levels get high and they start becoming bullet sponges. Then i run viral and heat, in addition. I dont have a riven for it or anything, but it still performs well upwards of lvl 200 enemies. Now eximus units make take a lottle longer once you get up that high, but I love this thing. Now if only rng could bless me with a +status chance riven

  7. Unless it gets a huge damage buff and increased base range, photon strike will not be good. Flechette is so powerful that with just blind rage equipped, 1 flechette orb can take out enemies at sortie level 2. Built for max power strength, a single flechette orb can handle enemies up to the level 120-130 range. Take that same max power strength and put more than 1 flechette at a single location and it will kill anything that gets near it up to level 150. How can photon strike ever possibly compare to this? You dont even need any range for flechette orbs. Adding a CC style effect to it would not help either as vauban is already chock full of CC
