  1. Its not fun really. The enemies apawn and follow you around as you hit them with whatever rubbish weapon you have. Its not "fun", more of a chore you get through. I'm certain the undercroft was an add-on to Duviri when they thought "we'd better put something warframey in there or the players will complain there's no warframes in warframe any more". So they bodged in this pretty poor mission node that doesn;t enhance the Duviri open world at all. I wish it was optional too.. I'm beginning to worry about their whole game design approach now. As for the Jackal, it is trivial but only when you arrive equipped for it. On SP circuit, I wonder if it will be a hit-and-miss affair where you just won't be able to hurt it enough. Still, operator can cheese it and I think that'll be how most players will beat this mission.
  2. when I did it you had to forma the weapons and then build all the other bits you tend to ignore - like kdrives and I even had to get the infested board from Deimos. That is a hard race. Today its a lot easier as there are 3 LR levels to go, so you have many more options. I would think you don;t even need to forma any for the L40 rank. Though, I would recommend putting the archguns on a mech and hitting Thermia fractures to level them up easily. Also, if it helps there's a mastery tracker someone made and I keep up to date now. It was useful when I was ticking off the trash.
  3. I can't see any dev being able to stop a host from disconnecting because the PC crashed or the power was cut, or even if the internet went down. You cannot cater for these catastrophic events, so tyou must deal with the consequences./ The onyl realistic way is to fully migrate the host state to a different player. And the only realistic way that can occur is if the host is blocked while the host migrations occurs. I think DE tries to let the host go away and rebuilds the state from whatever they have around, but as we see, its never good enough. Its still something that would have to happen as a fall-back if the host really did disconnect forcibly but it shouldn't be an issue for the majority of cases when the host extracts and remains connected. Copy that data and then let the host continue, let him see the "host migration" screen as well. That, in itself, might help prevent the need for most host migrations anyway.
  4. TNW was a mess. Most story quests are deliberately easy to allow you to focus on the story, but this one decided to cash-grab mechs and railjack and then give you really hard archons to fight. The Mars one is easiest, Boreal though was a flipping nightmare - I did beat it though, so you can too! His biggest problem is the screech bubble he uses to heal that you can bypass by going invisible. Yes, you can avoid sound by being inv... I don't want to know who came up with that nonsense, but they're the same ones who came up with the orowyrm fight where you have to fly into the big missile the wyrm shoots at you in order to go faster. They lost the plot on so much stuff since TNW. I'd stick with it though, it is possible. But it definitely was a mistake to put the hard difficulty boss with a hard-to-use charge trigger weapon in a story quest. You want challenge, the game should provide it later, not the trailer.
  5. DE won't change Liches. But... they could do this for Orokin Liches: A new node appears in the void, you go in, do the sabotage mission but instead of the usual sabotage target its a cryopod with an old Dax in it. You kill off the corrupted guards, he wakes up, fights you, runs away and then he (or his death squad of corrupted thralls) appear in random missions similar to Stalker or Wolf of Saturn Six. Kill them as usual, get murmers (as they won't change this either, your idea isn't much different to killing thralls anyway) to eventually track him down in his hideout once you know all 3 words. You can go and confront him then. Quite cheap for DE to implement as well as besides the new "dax" weapons and a sabotage control room, its all existing stuff. Could even be made less grindy by putting the lich's weapons in sabotage caches, each one has a different lich weapon in it, find the one you want and then wake him up so he has that weapon (defaults to a random one if you don't choose any cache) I did think the weapons should be altered so that you get, not a token, but a "powerup" that you apply to an existing weapon of the same type to turn it into the kuva weapon, or upgrade its stats, but I think DE won't change the weapon selection system. But there's no reason this couldn't work with infested liches if they do them - variety is good after all.
  6. Many times I've been joined to a squad that is in progress. Once I joined a team that completed the objective seconds afterwards. I simply ran to extraction :) Plenty of times too you all load in together but there's enough lag that the starting screen cannot be skipped. When you do get to play, the rest of the team will be doing the mission.
  7. Of course the SP aspect is not where this should be. Using old weapons for a refresh of fun is one thing, but that should be happening with normal enemies and guns modded appropriately. Instead they tried to make them SP capable and sent you in to grind incarnons. That's the opposite of what is needed here as it means they're overmodded for normal mode making that too easy. So they failed at both modes: neither case has you using the weapons for fun. Of course, they also paired them with endless open-maps where any concept of tactical play with the weapon is irrelevant. If they'd made the SP version one where you navigate a maze, slowly shooting and making your way through hard-level enemies, then the weapons themselves might have come into play more. As it is, just melee them instead. To make you want to try the old weapons, you need them to be used in the context of their power. Taking a stug for SP enemies doesn't give you that, it just makes you rely on the 1 random weapon that is most powerful or you do your best to complete the round and then exit. The weapons are not exactly being used, more you're there despite them. If they wanted this to work as a random fun mode, it should have been a Simaris mode with some simaris tokens, minor rewards or some other leaderboard using tiles similar to grineer galleon corridors and a plain frame like Excalibur to make you use a different weapon. eg. would you ever pick a sniper rifle in current circuit? No way, as the enemies charge and spawn at you. But I have run a grineer mission using a sniper rifle back in the early days, it was quite fun.
  8. The best way to solve the host migration issue is for the host who leaves to be stuck in the host-migrating screen until the migration (ie all the game-state data) is copied to the replacement host. Then we might see impulse-control-deficent players start to have a little consideration for others and wait for them to arrive at extraction. right now, they just bail and the whole lack of patience is certainly something Warframe needs less of in every aspect. So make them suffer the host migration too, ensure they cannot do anything until the entire state they carry is copied to another player, and only then release them to go their way. This should be the way the game is coded anyway as I swear half of the problems with host migration is the data only being half copied across to the remaining team.
  9. A lite version of all the skins might be a good option, subdue the danglies and bumpy bits and have something more understated. Shoulnd't be too much work to duplicate and remove parts of existing skins - and easy plat for those who want skins. Also more generic weapon skins. We had the pistol skins that can be put on the more ugly of the kitguns. I'd like to see more generic polearm, dual sword, axe, rifle etc skins.
  10. Finally, we have an end-game content ready to go. Albrect and Wally fighting each other, in giant mech robots.
  11. exactly the problem with it, surely. Its not the gun itself, its that it takes those incarnons to OP mode instantly. though I'm not sure it'll get a nerf, DE does seem to have completely given up on balance and is just in a "release more OP stuff that people will grind any trash gameplay pay plat for", so they're happy.
  12. I swear Duviri isn;t a multiplayer game really, its a solo one that they munged in the usual host+peers warframe has simply because people are used to it. My experiences in Duiviri have always been far better when playing solo and the concept of wandering around farming. doing puzzles and the odd random side objective all points to a solo-based game design. If it is a beta test for Soulframe, I think this says something, Soulframe will lkely be a solo game.
  13. No, you just fail to understand. Comprehending that games have different goals and different game designs are obviously lost on you. If you can't tell a F2P game has to be built with a different way of motivating players to pay compared to upfront paid-for games yet think it should be balanced in the same way then you have no clue.
  14. Ah, but you forget that games are designed differently. For example, most games played for fun are indeed as you say. However, some games become more of addiction drivers, and for those, the challenge is an obstacle to overcome to obtain those dopamine loot hits. Challenge here is something to be avoided because it actively interferes with the true gaming experience (tm) of obtaining loot. Hence all the players with OP meta weapons complaning of even the smallest nerf (eg less ammo!) This is what many don't understand, while the early game is based around enjoyment and challenge and progression... after a while, all you have is cheeseing your way to more loot. More lootz. Moar!! Few would play SP circuit to test themselves, they play it because of the incarnon adapters. And you can hear the complaints that its too hard with random frames and weapons anyway. They want their cheesy kit to cheese it to get the incarnons quickly. They've become conditioned to this. and I think many subconsciously don't like it. But rather than blame the true cause, they instead say "its a lack of challenge" (or "true" challenge) which is often meaningless. Maybe you didn't express that well? I say restart, simply because once you have everything, there's nothing else to do, and this encouraged DE to keep on adding more content with more OP weapons to drive you to play it. If you could restart, it would probably be a decent option for most. I play Stellaris, for example, when I conquer the galaxy. I start again. Its not exactly a MMO, but then should they really be different? Play for fun, not as a lifestyle choice you can't stop. DE isn't going to manage end game balance while they offer ever-more potent kit. And they cannot stop offering ever-more-potent kit because that's the addiction driver that is the basic oif keeping older players returning. Its not a good situation, but it also isn't going away. I did think a new progression based on the new war would have been an ideal opportunity, resetting the balance in ways that cannot be achieved without breaking the early game, but a new war starchart would allow them to do so. But they went for Duviri.. and guess what - it has OP decree power system from the start. I wonder if they will ever achieve balance. But I also think they don't care. more power = more player time = more money. Job done as far as DE is concerned.
  15. Much of that will be due to networking. Ever see enemies jump down from a ledge and then jump back up? That's network issues resetting the position as packets get lost to the host. similarly, an enemy will appear to walk in circiles if its gets reset too. There's a lot of optimisation that has to be done in games like this, where you're trying to keep the state of every enemy in sync across 4 players and the easiest way to do this is a "assume correctness but fallback" method. Walking into walls shouldn't happen, unless the map layout is broken, and that would be a bug they never noticed.
  16. The AI in Warframe is good. If you didn;t run past nuking everything you'd see them hiding and taking cover. They shoot you from good positions and only a few charge towards you. The trouble is two fold - one, you never notice this because theyr'e all dead before they have a chance to run the AI routines. two, even if you did, real-world military style manoevers depend on fire suppression, which only works if the target cares about being hit. In warframe, you can stand in front of them and tank those shots. The AI can be performing full fire-and-movement tactics and you still woulnd't even notice because you're standing there without a care for getting hit blasting them as they move to you. If the enemy bullets took you down with 2 or three hits, you'd notice the AI tactics quite differently. Perhaps the AI needs to update its combat though, its designed for combat, not terminate units coming at them. If should be a lot more grenades, smoke and claymore mines to take the warframes down as the enemy units run away from you. But I think you'd find that a lot less enjoyable of a game.
  17. Though, with the Late Vandal, there are 3 parts. One drops on rot A and is ten-a-penny. One part drops on Rot B and is still not worth mentioning. But the last part, that drops on Rot C (the barrel) is super rare and requires you to run 8 rounds of ESO. There's no real point to continuing after 8 rounds, so if that was the rotation reward, then that sucks but its not surprising the host left. 8 rounds, leave and repeat. if it was one of the other ones, forget it. You'll get them in abundance as you try to farm that barrel.
  18. The single best place to level up the mech is Thermia Fractures. Get yourself a grattler/kuva grattler, set the can going, sit up and away from the mobs and just blast away from a distance. Kuva grattler has a better AoE and projectile speed than the ayanga (which is the best in space) so the grattler will just slurp up affinity without any effort.
  19. Players don't actually want challenging content to challenge them. They say they do, but in the end all they want is challenging content they can cheese through as before. If they wanted a challenge that was fun, enjoyable and engaging, they'd create a new account and start over. in many ways I think this is how DE should manage end-game, allow players to reset their account (keeping plat, slots and other purchases) give a very fancy bit of fashion to mark you out as someone who has done it all and is now doing it again and allow players to experience the progression all over again. You want a challenge, take on the infested with your MR5 vanilla frame without the kuva weapons, 10 forma and the primed mods. You remember, the days when a heavy gunner appeared and you thought "oh S#&$"
  20. People hate Moas because: 1. they have that shockwave attack that knocks down enemies you were shooting. 2. they have that bubble that deflects shots (esp rockets) that you were aiming at enemies. They're not so bad otherwise, and damage from sentinels is fine once you have verglas. I've not seen this to be as much of a problem as a summoned spectre, but it really is something DE should address to mark non-enemy enemies in some way. I always put the "ally" marker on any summoned I summon, but you can only do 1.
  21. so true. I think the problem is the loot aspect here, create a new game mode, put loot behind it, say "its for end game content" and then listen to a horde of whiny players demanding it be nerfed because their MR10 builds cannot do the content, but still really really want the loot. In a way, its the same with people complaining about Capture missions changing to exterminate - annoyed because they cannot grab the loot in less than a minute and repeat. So get rid of the loot, create end-game content that challenges players and give them a different reason to play (besides it being what they asked for...) like leaderboards and bragging rights and youtube content. I'd say that means more Simaris, not more standard missions. So ESO, only this time its ranked enemies in increasing levels, so you have a sanctuary with level 100 Grineer. Who can clear the map in the shortest time, or who can stay longest, or (which squad) can deal most damage per second etc (if you do individuals then you discourage team play and will get kill stealing whining). Then do it again, level 200 enemies. Then l300 etc. Players can complete which set they can achieve, or test themselves against the ones that are too hard for them. No revives in this, its Simaris challenging you in his games. Then change it up, give the enemies double health, double armour or double damage modifiers. You can rotate these stats hourly or daily and show the leaderboards weekly (or monthly, probably be better). This is different from the usual "end game" content because it has no loot, its pure challenge. That will keep the low level players away. If you want to give something to aim for to make players intrerested in playing it for greed reasons, then give away fashion, a sentinel skin or a glowing medal to wear to say "I'm special".
  22. Many clans have discord groups, and I'd say all of them would have some form of LFG channels.
  23. What do you think "an unchanging" means? Its all there, presented to us as if we were effectiving it, but realy just replaying the pre-ordained script. Its tricky to get your head around, and it makes so little sense to us that others have proposed "get-out" theories such as infinitely splitting "timelines" as we create them with our choices. These are no real theories, but the one where the future is laid out already is. Here you go, explained in terms of real physics. Pay attention at the 5 minute mark. And then watch the follow-up episode "Is The Future Predetermined By Quantum Mechanics" because the weirdness gets weirder and he talks more of Eternalism, and many-worlds theory too.
  24. can't you just mash E like everyone else? 😃 Kudos though for a well thought out post. Not for me though, give me a polearm every time.
  25. No, you are doing exactly what you claim, calling the parallel worlds theory "eternalism", despite it not being so nor the word "eternal" having anything to do with multiverses. Devstream 129 said it, and the Twin Paradox is the means of havbing an older version of yourself. It wouldn't have been exactly this, but they said its what inspired the concept of an older operator. In the Zariman. That never got rescued. Admittedly, it was 2019 they showed all this, including the tigirs-in-the-hole put there by younger you. So its all changed, but howq can it be about you but older and not be about time dilation or travel? The NNW, the one where they introduced Drifter in the first place. The one where trhe hand gets chopped and lands in Duviri to disrupt the spirals? Nothing to do with Duviri? Are you mad? Mind you, you can tell they're making it up as they go from this quote from Rebecca. Your theory of multiple worlds splitting off is bunk, if one influences the other and vice-versa simultaneously. "In the chronology, technically The Duviri Paradox happened first. But it also didn't. Because then The New War couldn't have happened. So it's a very fun paradox."
