  1. Abused? Its by design! Look at Gauss' Kinetic plating. 100% DR for a set amount of time (liek a minute with duration mods). You are always at 100% DR because its so easy to get 100% battery. And you get 100% slash with his 1, and you get energy from being hit and immunity from stagger and knockdown! This isn't some side effect, so I'm sure they knew the other abilites that give invulnerabilty too, and they don't care.
  2. lol. no. You propose a solution that can be bypassed by exploiting the problem you're trying to fix in the first place. This is stupid. A cap on damage and/or drag would be more appropriate, or better: simply making them fixed strength traps. Many of your other ideas won;t make any impact: armour as shields for example, while they're broken, changing it all to a simpel "more health" system woulnd't fix the problem as our massive damage would still one shot so many enemies, just more of them than before.
  3. Mods are a tricky topic until you understand them. What those symbols mean and how you cannot put some in but can others. Josh Strife Hayes famour warframe review described this. All it really needs is a tutorial. Oh wait... what it really needs is to highlight the big tutorial button on the bottom for new players. As for "what to do after Vor's quest", again Josh shows the way - by not reading the email Lotus sends that tells you to go out and kick ass under your own steam. Maybe this too needs highlighting in a "read this and click "yes mommy" button" manner too.
  4. This. We need a female frame now. A Librarian frame with books and a tight pencil skirt and those spectacles and ... I see why they've made him male now.
  5. The launcher has an option to set up a dedicated server instance. But unless its changed, its for conclave only. Perhaps they could extend this to allow for other game modes, even if its to allow players to run a host for themselves if they have slow clients or for a clan to host servers for their members, or even just for the dojo instance itself. Alternatively WF could enrol you into dedicated host servers, if you pay for it. 100p and you get a week's worth of no host migration, guaranteed. Personally i'd like to see the requirements for a good host. I think it is upstream bandwidth requirements rather than CPU power, but I'm ready to be wrong on this.
  6. Its not just that, add in warframe elemental damage, lich elemental damage and innate elemental damage and the mod approach will not work (unless mods are created specially to represent these extra elements). Probably the best way of doing this now we have so many different elemental additions is to add a element mixing UI to the weapon screen where all added elements are shown and the user can mix them up as required. Maybe then we can have a few more triple-element types too! hmm. elec+heat+tox= plasma? heat+cold+tox = bacterium? elec+heat+cold = static? elec+cold+tox = acid? all of which add DoT mechanics or something fun to spread to nearby enemies.
  7. can you not get 2 and evolve each differently.
  8. I think the 2 that are not used are magnetic and blast (and I use rad all the time for its effect), but DE has made magnetic useful v sanctum enemies, and blast damage be useful synergise with the shard so I think they are heading this dorection already. What might help now is a better way of combining elements. In the old days you just had to put 2 mods together to get the combined element. However, today we have warframes with added elemental damage (eg an emerald shard option) and lich weapons that have elemental damage too,m and some have innate elemental damage too. All this makes it tricky to build the right combo sometimes. So a new way of combining would be much appreciated, and perhaps would be significantly easier to understand (as I found a warframe with elec damage added to it now shows on the weapon stats, but put that same weapon on a frame without elec and the elements all go wrong. This is not fun or intuitive to players who don;t recognise where the new element is coming from as its not a mod) So maybe add a combiner UI to weapons where you rearrange the elements you have equipped separately, or maybe add the kuva and frame and innate damage as extra special unremovable "mods" that can then be rearranged with the rest of the standard mods (obviously as extra mod slots for these) PS. Its great that the element damage from frames are shown on the weapon stats, but it appears that they remove the damage as it always shows in red. Did someone muck something up with their l33t maffs skillz?
  9. you need 266 to build everything that requires it in total according to the wiki. Still, you can buy 5 at a time from Nora for 15 creds. So just get it there. Don't even bother trying to farm it. First reward from it gains you 150 creds, so that's 50 right there.
  10. probably are though, the cheap and easy solution is to have a toggle "new" or "old" open worlds. I personally hate the stone doughnuts scattered about the plains and although the Vallis greenery has grown on me, I can happily go back to the old one. I doubt the devs will take the trouble to have a half and half solution particularly as they will want the damage to remain (eg the Unum's broken tower) but might be persuaded to have a toggle like the creator mode. It is a problem of their own making and I'm sure they do not want to return to any of the old stuff, they're to busy making new content islands.
  11. Some work, some don't - but the acceltra, for example, will shine with a +ammo stat on the riven when most people will roll and re-roll until they see +cc/+cd which will be pointless stat numbers. The riven with several QoL stats on these low-dispo weapons really is worth a lot.
  12. I se. I was thinking of checkpoints in other terms - the concept is vague enough to refer to many aspects of "must do something to get something". However, in a free to play game, 99% of those checkpoints can be bypassed by paying. Need a necramech for orphix? 90 plat, checkpoint skipped. Need to do the starchart? Buy a top wepon with catalyst, buy the best mods, buy a riven... walk through everything. Not much in the way of skill or grind needed. And this is by design, nobody (else) gets hurt if you skip the grind to get to the end content. It was certainly an annoying quest, with a couple of harder-than-they-should-have-been sections. And went on way too long, 2 stealth sections when 1 would have been enough, 2 archon fights, the necramech and RJ sections could have been cut and it would make no difference to the quest at all.
  13. A free-to-play game should have NO checkpoints. the whole point of Warframe as a buisness model is to have as many players as possible playing it. That's how they implicitly get their money. Locking anyone out, especially those who won't have the time or inclination to grind for everything and "git gud" is the dumbest move ever as those players are the ones most likely to spend money.
  14. wouldn't surprise me if there is Wally is 1 per viewer - there's a lot of "twins" narrative going on with DE's story now, and Albert did mention his twin in the void and so on. The Wally in your orbiter could be a creation that was your alter-ego in the void, something the viewer make by virtue of looking. That's a strange concept that kicks around a lot, like warhammer 40k's void creating the chaos gods from the emotions of the people who know of it (sortof, you get the idea) Because Steve got bored with space ninjas and wanted to make something else- hence Soulforge being Celtic/fantasy.
  15. That will be when it was built, not when it was packaged up and released to the servers for download. The devs who made that screen didn't know when it would pass QA (lol) and be released, so its the last day they worked on it.
  16. Fair point about nataruk and sirocco being rollable back, I was just using it as an example of any other aspects they might let the player keep that they shouldn't have and how its not important. Even the Drifter - its just a skin for operator anyway, once you start TNW the "big reveal" is broken so the only part that mattered is already gone.
  17. Nova for me. Took 32 runs, thanks to the RNG and DE's decision to make 1 part a 1/5th drop chance. Defection, Disruption and even Infested Salvage were all missions I avoided past the 1 time to unlock the node. When I went back to farm the frames with more knowledge and better equipment, turns out those missions are the most fun. Maybe not defection that much though. Getting the final Harrow part for the squad I was with did result in cheers and whoops from the team though. The worst frame was Protea though, took a long time to figure out how to beat those spectres. Sure now I can cheese them, but back then it was a different matter for the hardest part.
  18. As a dev I know there is always a way round these things. Even if you have to make compromises such as allowing existing state to exist - eg if you get a nataruk in quest and then decide to quit, you keep the nataruk. That's not optimal but it is still a valid way to deal with the problem. You assume the player will take the quest again later and will end up with a spare nataruk that they cannot trade so all ends up good, or you just don't care they have a nataruk as so many are about now. DE absolutely could do this, but they choose not to. I think the reason is simple: they've looked at the cost of allocating a tiny dev work to it against its importance to them, and they have decided they have better things to do like "Made improvements to the background placement for in-game Market purchase screens".
  19. garbage. Those other quests were trivial, the examples given were there to teach the mechanic, not use it. I refer to the Excal umbra fight - zap him with your mote amp until he dies. In that quest, you can die a thousand times, but every time you will come back and Umbra will not have regained his health. You will always win. Its like that because those quests were written to showcase the new stuff, highlight the story, and your skill was irrelevant. The only reason you had to do it was to pretend you were involved in the storyline. TNW was the only one that had the quest have actual gameplay. And not even warframe gameplay at that. The number of people who were hyped for TNW who went and purchased a necramech solely to unlock it should tell you everything you need to know.
  20. The warframe of today is very different to the warframe when Sentients were introduced. Your guns today have arcanes, extra mods, special mods, special alt fire, lich enhancements, operator buffs, shard buffs and so on. I think they tried to reset it to make it more challenging. Hence the "not warframe" Duviri.
  21. I still see people insta-shooting the vents during alchemy runs. Kids these days are just dumb. Absolutely this. You got a problem with someone, tell them what they are doing wrong. Chances are they didn't even notice until someone gives them a easy heads-up, might have accidentally hit the wrong key and are too engrossed to notice the aura (opr cant; see it with all the particle effects there is nowadays).
  22. Say it as many times as you like, it is not informative at all. Imagine - you're a player wanting to do TNW, but didn't bother with a railjack. So you buy one with plat. And then the quest unlocks and off you go, only to find its next to impossible to complete with a bare-bones level 1, non-upgraded, newly purchased Railjack. Did the warning mention that? No. Did it ionform you of the requirments? No. Did it prepare you? No. DE is all about player retention, and yet here we have them deliberately kicking players away. For a long quest, it absolutely makes sense to allow a player to roll back to just before starting it - its not like your arsenal is updated in any meaningful way. It would make much more sense to nerf the quest to the bones though, cinematic quests are not gameplay. So removing 1 archon hunt, removing the fortuna "stealth" puzzle, nerfing the railjack requirements, and other aspects would be hugely beneficial. Why did it need to be so long anyway?
  23. I'm certain tht Duviri was supposed to be "warframe, next chapter". We see that in the way TNW was structured - like Marvel's Engame, it was a series of homage cameos to a lotr of old characters you were supposed to say goodbye to, and then Duviri drops and everyone would play the space wizard stuff instead, you can see how they set up years of updates with the lost islands, every year they'd bring back a new one with a heap of updates and new stuff. You can tell because they put the start play with Duviri as the brand new player start option. They've been pulling back from this disastrous idea (which isn't bad implementation, they should have released warframe 2 inst... oh they will - soulframe) ever cince, but they have no story to replace it with and this is where the problem lies. They should retcon it away, say "you did TNW from Drifter timeline, now we're doing it again, but this is the Operator timeline" and give us the new war and a starchart to play through for the next ten years. But they won't, Instead we got a spellbook.
