  1. Yeah, that's an Archwing related bug.

A cute one that happened to me yesterday was when I spawned in a big pool of water, flying around at normal Archwing speeds, then instead of transferring to Land when leaving the water, was just flying around through the tunnels with Archwing kit. It was pretty great while it lasted - it stopped after I got hit with a knockdown shockwave.

  2. I clarified this with Steve ON twitter last night, and he told me I was correct! :-)  I am @Rgkelly87  -- Basically here is the deal with the maneuver:  You need to push forward, trigger a slide and then jump to do this.  Here is the catch:  You no longer need to be sprinting for crouch to trigger a slide!  :-) :-)  RIP in Pieces to my Left joystick, but now I can rejoice!!!!!!!!!

Also - Merging with a topic regarding the same tweet!

Hm. I'll be interested to see how Sliding without Sprinting works - if we still get the "Booty-Scoot Speed Boost" from the Slide Initiation animation, we'll be able to have a faster base movement speed. It might also remove the more obnoxious aspects of Crouching, like where you come out of a Slide poorly and are crouched moving at turtle speeds (generally only occurs if you're using Toggled Crouch). I mean, if there were some kind of Enemy Accuracy Penalty that occurred while crouched, that'd be one thing. As it stands, crouching is only occasionally useful, like if you have to dart into the open while Stealthing, or hiding behind cover in Conclave - and even then, odds are you're gonna be seen and/or shot regardless.

As far as I can tell, this maneuver replaces Slide Jumps, but has similar-to-comparable horizontal movement without the massive vertical hang time. It also looks/sounds like it's directional, so you can use it to reach greater heights if you aim upwards.

Well, we shall see. Pretty excited to give the new Movement system a go - hopefully it comes soon.

  3. Very nice! My guess based on the description and looking at it for a bit is that it might be performed by doing something simple like tapping the sprint-key in mid-air. That'd dramatically reduce the carpal tunnel factor while still allowing us to do a distance covering airdash maneuver.

As mentioned above, however, the real value won't be easy to determine until we see how it interacts with other animations.

That said, pretty optimistic for this dramatic overhaul, personally.

  4. Ordinarily I'm on for at least a little while every day - I haven't been lately because my computer is getting a drastic overhaul.

That said, I think you'll see quite a few more Excalibur Primes around once the Excalibur rework hits.

Me, I might be that guy that tries to shoot people with a Lato Prime in Conclave. It doesn't generally work out (I'm rubbish at conclave about 80% of the time - the remaining 20% is me going all Musou Tensei up in the hizzle, Raoh-style).

  5. If you are really going with this kind of starchart (a very veeery dangerous rework if you ask me) I can only see this work like that :

You have all "regions" (Mercury,Erff,Saturn,Uranus.Mars,Venus,Ceres,Eris,Pluto,Neptune,Sedna,Phobos,Jupiter,Europa,Void,Orokin Derelict).

You choose Erff?Ok, what tier or difficulty setting? - Low level. (depending on the planet selected)

                                                                                   - Average level (depending on the planet)

                                                                                   - High level (depending on the planet)

                                                                                   - Veteran level (to make old chaps visit Erff again without falling asleep) picto-cadenas.png

(nightmare & alerts are still there, bla bla blaa...)

Level 5-9 huh?Cool. Mission types then. - Extermination

                                                                    - Spy (needs Stealth 2.0,but it isn't the question)

                                                                    - Defense

                                                                    - Survival

                                                                    - Sabotage

                                                                    - Mobile Defense (it needs its 2.0 but it isn't the question)

                                                                    - Deception (it needs its 2.0 but it isn't the question)

                                                                    - Assassination (the boss will still scale with your conclave etc...& foes are in the average level)

Erff,Level 5-9 & Spy? Okay man, let's go to Suisei. Happy hunting.

What about the good old progression we lost after the Mad Cephalon update? Well, you can't play the level range abov if you don't have unlocked all the difficulty settings below. (the thing would be grayed out, with a picto-cadenas.png icon next to it) Same for assassinations AND there's a hint to the location it'll unlock upon completion ("Road to Venus")

This is the only way I see clearly working without messing with nubz & veteran players. It's classical, I know, but at least anyone who played a Mario game can find his/her way with ease. Even the guy who grew up with Sonic can feel like home!

^^^ This I could really get behind. It would keep the ability to have some degree of Progression, while also maximizing and optimizing player choice, all the while streamlining the process of getting into a game you want to be in considerably (assuming it kept your settings between mission runs). You'd also have a bigger pool of people in general to work with in terms of hopping into PUGs, so if you wanted to be in a group, you'd pretty much always be able to get one. Additionally, it'd work out well for Premade groups going for specific things, as you'd get a more variable experience that still caters to what your group is aiming for, at least ideally.

The problem is that that is not what I'm hearing from DE in this instance.

What I'm hearing from DE (apart from Rebecca, who was pretty much openly against it) is the desire to return to a Warframe Mission Structure circa November/October 2012, where you had a more randomized "Mission Card System." It feels like regression to me. Heck, it kinda feels (and the implications of this statement are not lost on me) like it's going towards an Asian Free To Play Action Game model, like Ace Combat Infinity, or Gundam Battle Operation - the analogy would be even more appropriate if you could only run so many missions at a time before waiting an hour and a half to run one more mission. I'm hoping against hope that this ISN'T the case, but there is a bit of concern here.

Time will tell, I suppose. Until more information is available, I can't make an informed opinion one way or another - and anything else is just gut reaction with a hint of knee-jerk on the side. I am calling it as I see it, with the hope that I'm proven wrong some time soon.

  6. the frame that doesn't get touched would be "normal".

    ...So, Ember, I guess?

    Zzziiiiiiinnnggg.

EDIT: Actually, come to think of it... Saryn, Hydroid, and Zephyr haven't been altered in any way, as far as I can remember. Maybe tweaked immediately after launch, but not since then. So I guess those are "normal"?

  7. ...Alternatively, they could just make it so that Turbulence works reliably against Hitscan guns (with bullets, at the very least. I can accept it not working on, say, the Quanta/Spectra etc.). Good, innovative ideas (I do really like the Divebomb change - that's how I've thought it shoulda worked from the get go), but I'd think it'd be easier if they just de-borked Turbulence against Hitscan. It used to work more reliably than it does now, and I'm not sure why.

  8. This has happened to me as well - I believe it's the game "restarting" because other people finally finished loading in. And yeah, the Ceph was lost (period - it simply didn't exist anymore) for me as well. We (all 8 of us) spent the next 30 mins to an hour killing the unholy Void out of eachother. Was actually pretty fun.

Then whoever was the host bailed, and everything reset - apart from our scoreboard kill counts. At the end of grabbing 5 Cephalons, the board said I had 50 Kills. Didn't get any of the Affinity/XP credit, but it didn't matter. Ah, the times I wish I'd had Fraps up and running...

  9. Yeah, that's the Horsemen alright.

Aggrevated Swarm = Famine (Locusts eat the crops)

Hungering Encroachment = Pestilence (I forget the biblical word for that one, I'm not religious)

    Raging Conflict = War

    Eternal Fall = Death

Flip the ones for Famine and Pestilence and yer golden.

Roaring Drums is what all the fist stances call the Ground Finisher, if I recall correctly.

  10. I think that ideally, this is the system they will want to strive for, but they're in that awkward transitionary period where they have more Prime stuff floating around than is healthy for the drop system, and not quite enough to have a full-blown rotation. If that is the system they wind up adopting, I'm okay with it.

  11. I like the Dragon Key method myself, but I would handle it slightly differently:

The planets are divided into tiers. Lets say, for example, Pluto, Eris, and Ceres are all Tier 4. Now, when you access an Exterminate mission on Pluto with a Tier 4 key equipped you can run around and have a jolly good time looking for the hidden Void gate. Enter it, progress through a smaller map within the map, and find the Prime Vault (no, Frost Prime will NOT be within it, settle down), take the Prime loot inside, and then doubleback out of there. You get a Volt Prime helmet, Braton Prime Barrel, or Rhino Prime BP from that.

Do the same thin on Eris Exterminate, though, and you get either a Nova Prime Systems, Ember Prime Chasis, or Loki Prime BP. So the loot tables are for the planets, not the key itself, but the Void in those planets is accessed by keys of the same tier.

I count the "changes how the void is accessed and spread out" as a plus - there are a HUGE number of planets to choose from, each one with the potential to have their own drop tables and yet be accessed by the same "Tier 4 Key" method. Make it less "start a new mission in the Void" and more "access the area like you access the Dragon Vaults" and it's good.

Something essentially identical to this has been my operating assumption of what we're getting. Hoping against hope that we don't need some additional unbelievably-obnoxious-to-farm gizmo to actually open one of these vault/cache/loot-matroyshka-pinata's, but not holding my breath. Hopefully U16 makes the method for getting Mesa less intolerable as well - not counting on that either.

  12. Newly MR19 myself, shoot me a PM if you have any questions or need any help with something, or even if you just want to hang around, or need someone to fill a slot for a mission.

Would actually really enjoy doing a big Solar System Grand Tour, unlocking Planets and Nodes for newer players.

  13. Give it a gold chain and two of the Color Vomitors, and you have yourself a deal.

Design it like, oh, say... John Travolta's character from "Saturday Night Fever."

Highly approve of the Moonwalking being primary form of movement.

  14. Most of it is bonus XP though. It'd be maxed as soon as they extracted. The best part about that image is that that's probably the first Elytron drop they got the whole damned run. Caelus can take a long walk off a short dock.

That aside, I have no problem with Primed Archwings. I mean, I think we all knew it was pretty much inevitable. What I feel Archwing needs most is some more actual integration into the game at large - right now, it's essentially a separate game entirely. What this would entail, I don't know - maybe a limited-time-per-mission summoning of your AW, where you can hover around shooting/cutting/what-have-you-ing things for a while in a regular mission, or it just does it on it's own, under Ordis' remote control, or a Spectre AW - I dunno. Or some kind of open world integration. Adding more AW Mission Types is a START, but definitely not enough. If they add Void AW I'll be happy, since it will be more AW missions. Hopefully if/when they release the Odonata Prime it will have some kind of significant buffs or changes (to the Odonata at large, as well as the Prime variant). We Shall See.
