  1. Hear (Here?) Here (Hear?)!

This man speaks the truth. Granted, many of the people making rumblings haven't been around as long as we have, so they couldn't possibly know just how dedicated the folks at DE are to making Warframe great.

The ladies and gentle(and even not-so-gentle)men at DE are UTTERLY DEVOTED to making a good game.

Let me clarify that- to making a good game above all other considerations. PERIOD.

Think Chris Roberts and his upcoming Star Citizen title, but Free to Play and with Space Ninjas of a Debatably Cyborg Nature.

As was mentioned, there have been bumps in the road before, but these have, to a one, been resolved to the satisfaction of most every concerned party.

I guess the bottom line is that I feel we can really trust DE to make the right call.

  2. My only potential gripe with the current zoom system is that depending on your camera position, you wind up having your Warframe take up 2/3rds of the screen, which, if it happens when you need either precision or during a particularly hectic firefight can be slightly annoying to potentially hazardous.

A possible fix for this would be to make (from the player's perspective) the players 'Frame translucent or transparent, so you can see through him slightly. Alternatively, the camera angle could be tweaked slightly, but that would mean having to change the firing angle as well to compensate.

Ultimately, however, I think that the current system is quite adequate.

  3. Honestly, this is a very good question. The number itself doesn't really seem to mean all that much, but I think it takes into account recoil, which the Snipetron has in abundance. Not really sure, to be honest. A lot of the numbers are, well, kinda fudged. They're better than they used to be, but not perfect. Take them with a grain of salt, I guess, or as a general guideline.

  4. I for one have been fairly against having PvP in Warframe at all.

However, between this and the Dark Souls-esque "Game Invasion" I am somewhat torn.

Warframe is a fairly unusual game, and I feel that IF PvP MUST be added, it should be done in a fairly unusual way. So the idea of having a "Tenno Olympics" really appeals to me. And I DO mean Olympics. Like, we'd need Skiing (slide races), High Diving (not even into water, just jump off a particularly high platform and try to land on, I dunno, a target), Curling. Or heck, Glaive Pinball. Silliness, all in all, but it would certainly be something unlike most any other game in the genre.

And of course as a lover of Demon's & Dark Souls, I LOVE the Realm Invasion mechanic, but there are balancing issues to be had. Maybe no more than one Invader at a time, and only against people of a very similar level. Or give him some significant disadvantage... Say, make him/her able to see a Bright Glowing Spot (even across the map?) that represents her/his target, but other than that and some of the architecture, is effectively blind- Can't see NPCs, can't see other players, but his target... his target is the singular objective, and he/she cannot be redirected. Much like the current Stalker, really.

EDIT: I dunno who here has a PSVita, and of those, people who have the game Soul Sacrifice, but I'd envision it to be more-or-less like the "Minds-Eye" view in that, but you can't see anyone highlighted but your target.

    Something like this: MindsEye.jpg

...Except more washed out and, again, only your target is Outlined/Highlit.

  5. Hmmm. I'm somewhat torn here.

On the one hand, they recently upped the overall crit-rate of just about everything, and I'm doing more damage than ever.

On the OTHER hand, it can be pretty hard to hit enemies whilst aim-diving, and it might be nice to be rewarded for doing that...

I suppose so long as it wasn't a GUARANTEED crit, and was just an improved chance as you said, that might be okay. However, that puts certain weapons, like the Snipetron and Paris out in the cold, in that regard.

It is an idea worth some consideration, perhaps.

  6. If you're that poor you don't have internet - thus he couldn't have posted that story here

...What he's saying is that when HE was a little'un, that's what he had to do. I too had to walk up the hill to work in waist high snow, AND I had to walk up the hill FROM work. Physics and geography weren't as easy as you young'uns have it.

  7. Hmmm. Are you shooting them in the head, specifically without any Armor Piercing Mods? If so, that's the problem: the Corpus are smart, and equip their Crewmen with heavily armored Helmets.

EDIT: Perhaps I should elaborate- You ARE doing some tiny, tiny damage to them, but it's very little. Ordinarily, on any other enemy you'd be getting Damage #s to show- however, or Corpus Crewmen, none display if you hit them in the head without any AP mods or weapons with innate Armor Piercing (such as the Bolto, Akbolto, Boltor, or Paris. Basically any gun that shoots a slower-than-hitscan projectile). So, basically, they have Super Heavy Armor on their heads. However! If you DO equip AP mods or use an innate-AP Weapon, you'll do TONS of damage to their heads. Something like 2000% damage. Huge.

  8. There is always one golden rule that you should follow in any game that requires or contains copious amounts of farming (those of you who have played Monster Hunter should know it):

    "Don't want what you need."

Stop thinking about it and stop worrying about it. The more you focus on obtaining it, the more you're going to burn yourself out by disappointing yourself every time you see a mod drop but it's not the one you want.

^^^SO much this. As a fellow Veteran Monster Hunter, I can vouch for this personally, and it really helps.

My experience in getting the Multishot mods is... quirky. Pre U7, I got very VERY few, and that was after considerable time. U7 hits, and I go to Uranus, did the 2nd available mission (I believe) and got 2 OF EACH. This however isn't really applicable now, as they've rebalanced the drop rates a lot. Also note that I've gotten about 5 more since then, and none of those were in the past 2 weeks. Take from that what you will.

  9. For shooters: Command and Conquer: Renegade. Has what is my favorite team-based multiplayer setup, to this day I go back and play a few rounds. And that was in 2002, pre-Battlefield 1942+exp/Vietnam/2+exp/2142, etc. Only game I've played that got closest would be the original Crysis/Crysis Wars. Nuclear Dawn and Natural Selection are fairly close as well, just with added base-building. That cold day when the original servers were shut down, just after christmas all those years ago was one of the saddest I've endured.

For Scrolling Shoot 'Em Ups: Axelay. Probably one of the most impressive games in the genre (at least for the SNES era), both visually and in terms of game mechanics. Even has a "Stay Tuned for Axelay 2" after the credits. A sequel never came to pass, however, which is saddening.

Jeeze, I could go on for ages. Like how just hearing a snippet of the Chrono Trigger soundtrack will make me start itching to play it over for the umptijillionth time. Or the largely un-sung majesty of Legend of Dragoon on PS1. The list goes on.

  10. Same here!

Haven't been able to put in QUITE that many hours (19 here), but my wife and I have been absolutely hooked since we tried it.

Running up walls. Ninja flips. Sliding and sniping. Jump Kicking people and punching them to a pulp while they try and get up. Hitting speed on VOLT, charging across a field and gibbing people with my punchy death Furax fists. Shooting them with my bronco after I miss with said fists because I'm going WAY too fast...GOD DAMN, I love this game!

It's stuff like all the above that keeps me coming back. The game goes to great lengths to make you feel like a complete and utter badass 60/60/24/7/~30/365. Just... just AWESOME.

  11. Not a big deal tbh, I use the craft time to farm the mats I just used up for the next item

^ Very much this. There is ALWAYS something you can be doing while an item is building- farming for more items, grinding up levels, etc. If you somehow managed to get all the starting gear up to level 30, and are only just now crafting things, well.... you're gonna need a lot more crafting mats, so farm for those. I dunno what to tell ya- the system works quite well, to be honest.

I mean, yeah, at first I was like "wait, I have to wait a DAY for my Hek to craft (pulling an arbitrary weapon out of thin air)? Bollocks!" but within about 180 seconds realized that I'd been killing just fine BEFORE the weapon had started crafting, and could easily afford to wait the required time, passing it by opening up a few more areas.

  12. A Latron prime, huh? That would be cool- a slightly improved, awesome gilt-embossed version. unless it was some kinda typo regarding the Lato Prime. Well, I'm not gonna get my hopes up, but will remain optimistic.

  13. Just a few minnits ago, I did Uranus-Mab and got not one, not two, but ALL THREE MULTISHOT MODS (Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun). In JUST. ONE. RUN. I don't really know how far to read into it, seeing how fickle the RNG Gods are. Probably shouldn't even post this, but here goes anyway. I figure that maybe they're rewarding my patience after doing 3-4 15-Wave defence missions where the reward was a Cipher...
