    P.S. Please DE, consider adding more domestic decorations to the dojo. Things that would transform these large alien rooms into actual livable spaces. Please consider adding furniture, clutter, domestic detailing like rugs, intractable items, even sitting emotes so that we can interact with our interior surroundings. Please consider the vast amount of people I am sure would enjoy investing into their own virtual homes, there is an audience for design, crafting, building in the industry. (Just look at the housing community in FFXIV for just a single example!)

    Perhaps to engage the clan, why not have decor that is donated to the dojo unlock blueprints that can be funded much like weapons in laboratories, that can then be built as decor endlessly? Grinding 50,000 Cetus reputation to purchase a single basket of fruit or cup seems impossible if an Interior Decorator is trying to stock their built restaurants in their dojo. So is purchasing endless groups of market decor for platinum to then donate one by one.

    It says that you can Teleport to the Black Hole using Reap, does that mean that it Overrides the directional Teleport mechanic of Reap and just moves you to the Black Hole?

    (This is less a Criticism and more a subjective opinion) What if the Black Hole worked almost like Nyx's Absorb, or if instead of Teleporting to it with Reap, you swapped places with it.

    This is also subjective, but i like stealth gameplay, and a stealth, invisibility fly ability with a loud Explosion at the end seems counter intuitive.

    (Midway through writing this and i just realized that almost all of it is subjective, so consider this just an opinion/question post.)

    So with Tombstone, you cast, then you recast to respawn, I feel like it would make more sense (To me) if you cast it, and then if you die (go to Bleed Out) instead you respawn at the Tombstone, at the cost of Souls.

    Speaking of Souls, how does that work? it adds additional cosmetics (Like Nidus) the more you get, but whats the limit? is there a limit? What do you mean by it "Powers" his abilitys? does it do something other than determine how his 4th works? does it add Power Strength, Range or Efficiency to his first three abilitys? maybe it gives an armor bonus? (like Nidus).

     

    As a general personal rule in design we don't like to include too many hard-line statistics or numbers, as we want the point of the concept to be the idea and not technicalities. Technicalities can easily be changed while the idea or concept is what matters first. 

    That being said, I didn't want to restrict the concept to an arbitrary number of Soul capacity or how exactly his abilities are empowered, that would be up to DE who best know how their game works.

    To answer some of your questions; If you aim towards the Black Hole using Iron Sights in the same room or one/two rooms over (depending on tile size) and then use Reap, you would teleport to the Black Hole. That way no accidental teleports would happen.

    Given the nature of Warframe and its game-play, I didn't want to restrict him to stealth. The silent flight is counter-intuitive yes, but imagine it more as a sudden initialization of combat in some circumstances. Perhaps if used that way "surprised" enemies could be stunned longer for example. Or a method of advanced movement like "flying" to second floors in some tilesets.

    The Tombstone is specifically a utility power that I want to leave in complete control of the player's needs. Its not specifically supposed to be used as a "second life" but rather a creative use of a....save point of sorts. Perhaps maybe to extend the time of the Reaper form for example or whatever else a player could come up with. That is why I didn't want its respawn to be automatic, especially if the player accidentally saved at a bad point because it could totally revert Wraith back to low health or no ammo if done so.

    The Souls are supposed to be a unique resource similar to Nidus's stacks, to help with some scaling. This inspired me because I believe Nidus is one of the best, well designed, enjoyable Warframe concepts in recent times because of that scaling, and I wish more Warframes were flexible like that. The more Souls Wraithe collects, it is visually shown on his body with the "ghosty clothing" you can see in the passive section of the main image. Now, I would like it to make Wraithe stronger in some way, both himself and his abilities. Perhaps he does get tankier, or more shields, or his abilities do more damage, more range, etc. Those things would again be a technicality that I do not want to strictly establish, other than yes the Souls empower him.

    As for his Reaper form, its sort of like an exalted mode where the player can not use their weaponry, only Reaper's abilities and melee. He would use his claws in unique melee combos and motions, with great extended range. Imagine a lot of spinny slashes and elegant movements that make the best use of his long, bendy arms and claws. As Reaper you have advanced mobility, so like bullet jumps are longer, farther, you can double or triple jump, "slides" are longer and damaging, etc. In this instance, Souls determine the duration of how long you are in Reaper form, but his strength and scaling is determined by how many Souls you had upon cast, and perhaps some stats pulled from your equipped melee weapon as he is also a Melee form technically.

  4. I have a hopeful question to this update;

     

    In terms of per-requisites to the Plains of Eidolon, will all types of players be able to access the level regardless of their completion to quests - however only specific events are locked behind question progression? It would seem unfair to lock an entire level and world behind a quest, but more realistic to lock events and progress behind it. For example, ill-prepared players who have not completed the TWW can not fight the night-time bosses and have a 100% failure notice?

  5. PC TennoGen authors receive revenue from the Steam Workshop directly, it is 30% of the price split between the author(s) in question. If there is a collaboration, the authors can split the 30% however they choose.

    Theoretically maybe someone gets 60%, someone gets 30%, and someone gets 10%. But end fact is that the authors get a third of the sales price.

     

    However this is different from Consoles, because XBox and Playstation can not calculate and pay out individual sales. So technically they can't, or won't, pay authors at all. However to make up for this DE is generous and just enough to pay the author in advance.

     

    That's about the jist of it, I'm not sure how much detail we are allowed to share on the matter.

  7. The proportions on Oberon Prime look ....jarring. The weird hoof/shoe hybrids, the small forearms, the oddly shaped robes, the big shoulders, the thick neck, hunchback, all of Oberon's normal weird anatomy was just accented with his Prime. I am sorry I dearly love Warframes and your Primes but this one is a hit and miss design. I'll just be using the Oberon Deluxe skin on top!

    Given there are many TennoGen authors, many pieces to be looked over, and a very small crew within DE tasked with curating TennoGen, it is unreasonable to expect them to give critique and feedback to everyone, or even most of them. (Remember they have to look through the files and test it out to see if the entry holds up, not just presented with fancy renders and images - that takes time too.) I believe that the general practice is that TennoGen items that are close to being accepted receive feedback. If the entry is perfect as is, or unfortunately entirely unacceptable, those don't receive any feedback at all. This is my personal understanding of the practice, I do not know of DE's judgement or curating process on finer decisions.

    They absolutely are giving feedback. There are private developer comments that only authors and developers can see on entries. There is no way to see them otherwise.

    This is our entry for Warframe's Melee Creation Contest due on the 30th of this month (Tomorrow!) We wanted to share our art and design seperately from the main thread.

    The Buzdovan utilizes the "whip" stance as a flail. Alternatively it may be a hybrid weapon that also can be equipped with a "Hammer" stance and used as a traditional Kanabo.
    The studded head changes physical appearance based on modding more of either Impact, Puncture, or Slash damage that give it a reinforced status. Reinforced Impact damage grants slower attack speed with powerful knock-back effects with a larger slam attack radius with knock-back. Reinforced Puncture increases Critical Damage, attack speed and strips armor permanently from enemies. Reinforced Slash increases status chance to 100% Bleed proc with increased proc damage over time.

    When sheathed, the chain inside the body of the weapon is coiled around the ring at the bottom which is visible on the sides.

  13. We have to trust that DE has the final say about TennoGen, and it goes without saying they know their own game best. There are so many technical and artistic decisions going into picking and curating TennoGen that we can't expect DE to justify every choice. TennoGen creators have the freedom to explore and create at will, on their own, but that freedom comes with the risk of overly ambitious designs being rejected. Not out of poor quality of course not, but technical issues.

    While we would love to create full body skins such as the Incubus, we can not do so without our Collaboration partner Syncrasis who now works for DE. As such, they can not participate in TennoGen any longer. It was a bitter sweet first, and last collaboration.

    Perhaps in the future we may expand our skills into sculpting, or come to find another partner.

    I would like to submit a painting in a more traditional showing of romance if I may, as opposed to a more commercial Valentine's Day card. I am afraid I had no time to ask if this is okay, but at least the same sentiment and intentions are there. Regardless of outcome, I enjoyed creating it, and sharing its significance.

    Our valentine's day gift, or painting, is an ode from myself, as Frost, to my dear friend Anatolius the Loki. With whom I have been playing Warframe since open beta just under 4 years ago. Coincidentally it is also a celebration of the release of the Incubus Loki skin, which Syncrasis and I have been working on for a long time all of 2016 and it is a joy to see it finally live after so long.

If I could expand on the discussion or confusion above me, the way I understood is the reason we are discouraged to make Sentient/Syndicate/Orokin based items is because those aesthetics are quire lore-heavy and intertwined with DE's own storytelling and market in their game. We don't want creators making Prime Access-type items, or skewing the story pacing in the game by taking Warframes and making false Primes, or Hunhow/Stalker types, injecting certain lore where none exists (yet or at all).
    What if I were to make a skin whose lore specifically explained it was a...Operator rebel Warframe who gained sentience and slew their operator and went rogue/free? That could entirely conflict with the world and intentions set in Warframe, maybe it would go against whatever DE was planning.

    In the end, we creators were asked to create quality items that adhere to the Warframe aesthetic and lore.
    I do apologize for interjecting myself into the discussion, I wished to share my understanding of these guides/limitations.
