  1. About the new Melee Changes

    1) Melee Mode Removal: No! It's a complete inconvenience.  Here is why.   WASD granted us free range of movement while in Melee Mode.  Now that melee is simply 'hit the E key', we no longer have that free range of movement, because we can no longer use left mouse button for full-melee mode.  This in my opinion and experience, pointless, and is sadly biased to playstyle favoring the use of guns.  The way things were prior was better, though i do appreciate the improvements made with the use of guns.

    2) Melee Toggle: Why? You claim you are working on adding something that was already in the last melee system.  We were able to hit F to switch to melee mode.  Now we don't have that.  what was the point?  Do you not want us to go 'melee-only' in this game?  We still need to hit F to switch weapons, so why not put melee back into that sequence?  Everything else about the changes are fine, but this is really an irritating inconvenience for players (like myself) that normally use melee only.

    About the Event

    3) Coolant Timer: There is none.  Needs one.  Never mind.  I see it.

Thank you for reading this DE devs, if possible.

  2. Hey Rockwolf, this is really good.  Well thought-out feedback.

You made a lot of good points here.  This was something I thought they were going to do when they revamped the melee system the first time.  I always thought that the result was terrible and it never fixed the "spam-E" problem like they intended to do.

I distinctively remember the Devs saying that they do not want to mimic DMC at all, but I always thought that maybe they should, or at least get inspired by it.  Dynasty Warriors is another good example.  I don't think Warframe is a game that can have a similar melee system to those two games mentioned, but it can certainly benefit from inspiration by those games.

With Warframe melee, it always seemed too difficult to actually focus on particular targets while performing moves and combos.  I am not saying it's hard or impossible to land a hit, but it does feel clumsy and that makes it tricky to focus on targets.  I'm a Warframe player that is almost strictly melee only, and i always felt like melee needs something special.  Melee has always been frustrating.

Maybe things will turn for the better soon.

You're quoting bugalien there dude, Gin never said "nobody has to buy plat", in fact he says (in Bold)...

And bugalien did follow up this...

    with...

I don't believe bugalien's intent is to claim that nobody buys plat, but to point out how the player trade economy currently allows for players to obtain all items in game without paying for Platinum themselves. Also Gin brings up the Blueprint option for equipment, which the OP clearly has overlooked.

Thanks.  I must have gotten the quotes mixed up.  I know what his intent was.  No one said anything we did not already know, including you.  I was just pointing out a mistake.  I guess he was just being lazy about what he wanted to say.

you do know you can buy the BLUEPRINT of the warframe, farm up the parts and then build it without spending a single plat right?

this excuse it getting dumber everytime I see it. you don't spend anything, someone else does. maybe because they bought the PA, love the game, gave up on farming something...etc. in the end it doesn't matter, you're not paying

ofc someone has to pay, whether that someone is you, that's what counts

you're basically stating how f2p games works which pretty much all of us now

also, lemme correct your thread title, OP:

    "my wrong thoughts"

    ftfy

I really don't understand why anyone would upvote this mess but, whatever.  it's not an "excuse".  it's fact.  So let me highlight your use of the word "dumber" by using your own quote.

you do realize nobody actually buys platinum with real money right

    "dumber"

(Though it has my name on the quote, i never said this)  I'll use my quote again down below.

You do realize that this makes no sense right?

In order for this to work, somebody has to buy plat with real money.

This is me correcting your logic, one that you even proved to be wrong with your own words.

When you say "nobody actually buys platinum with real money", you really show the condition of your thought process.  Explain to me how i am the one lacking in intelligence here.

Now, if your advice to him/her is to never buy plat, and instead do X, Y, and Z... then fine... but please, don't try to insult my intelligence.  I only pointed out where you made a mistake.

you do realize nobody actually buys platinum with real money right...... you trade for it in game with other players, thats what literally everyone does.  You can have tons of stuff from the market without ever having to spend a dime in this game.

You do realize that this makes no sense right?

In order for this to work, somebody has to buy plat with real money.

Out of all of the warframes in the game in need of a rework/update, why in Baro's name did you decide that Saryn was the most in need of an update? Saryn currently has a fully functioning kit with no real useless abilities, and there's a few builds for her that can make use of all of her components. That being said, there are several frames in this game with only one or two viable abilities that lead them to having only a couple (at best) usable builds. So why does Saryn receive priority for a rework when there are warframes with severely worse kits?

So I finally was able to review the video where Pablo explained his reasons.  I honestly don't think that Saryn was considered a priority.  I think Pablo simply decided to correct what he thought were mistakes he made with Saryn and that was all there was to it.  As far as having a useful kit or not, I think that the way she is now for the rework was much needed.  Saryn used to be one of the warframes I would use often for hard-farming endeavors in the past, and after the changes, I just could not get into her much anymore.  I think that with these new changes, she will fit her role better with a bit of something extra.  The two concerns I have is how this new rework will affect everyone's playstyle in positive and negative ways, and how this rework may lead to a much needed Ember rework (with scaling considered).  I actually hope Pablo will be the guy to have a look at the other warframes, especially because it sounds like he actually plays the game and understands it from a player's point of view as a developer.  I will always welcome and appreciate that.

Look at the developer workshop tab. Saryn is getting reworked.

Ember isn’t very useful anymore. Her Damage should scale like Saryn. However, people will then complain that she’s too OP and then she’ll get nerfed again. But they Saryn, a frame that does way better than Ember, gets a buff... Balderdash!

    I looked at it.

Most people don't have the sense of rythm, making Octavia usable only for people who can play Theatrythm or Guitar hero. To avoid that, most people just mute the sound, put a minimal ammount of Mallet and Metronome notes and the whole same note just to spam and fast proc invisibility... That is the only buff they use.

The more/less notes is based on quantity/quality : Less notes more damage with long proc, more notes fast spam of small damage. In the end, damage output is the same if you put one note on the Mandaccord or the whole ring of it.

My Metronome lasts for a minute, I usually get my buff in 10s as I know my tunes and use appropriate weapons to proc my buffs. You can fail a proc on someone else's tune but with training your own procs can come easy. Recasting doesn't remove the active buff, just the rythm puzzle, if you're not familiar with a tune, reset it sooner so you have time to proc it again.

Octavia is tricky to get to use. But once you get your habits, she's reliable.

Thanks.  I never figured her out.  I only play her to listen to my own music.

  9. I remember the devs saying something about their plans to enhance the body models of the operators.  They were never specific on that though.

However, i imagine what people are talking about are boobs, butts, and bulges.  I have no idea what the devs were talking about though.  Something will come up eventually.

I like my Operator, but i'm not into this as much as i would like.  I don't really care what the operators look like too much because i'm more interested in Warframes.

  10. i could swear i saw this same thread up a couple of days ago.

I guess a lot of people really want Valkyr to change.  The only thing i have a problem with is Ripline.  I think it should be replaced with something better, something more fitting for her power kit.  Maybe she should have had a whip instead of Khora when she was first made.  Oh well.

Paralysis should not rely on her shields since her shields are near to nothing.

Well, to be fair, I played skyrim every day and it took almost 2 years for me to start to understand and then I started watching only in English (better YouTube content), but after all, I can't say that I know how to properly write or speak because I don't know the proper grammar but I can speak fairly well and understand almost anything

you have nothing but respect from me about this.

    i'm impressed.

It all comes down to what DE always intended for the game mode to be, a short(er) arcade mission.

Onslaught was never intended to be the new endurance mode, we have known this ever since the first time it was announced. It is/was supposed to be a short intense arcade experience.

I read everything you said here.  My question is, why did they constantly advertise this as a "new endless" mission?
