And what if the Host wants to take the helm from someone doing well and ruin the mission themselves? Who's to say the Host is actually the superior pilot?

Just because you're host it doesn't mean that you know best nor that you have the right to force people to your will. As soon as you que up for a public mission your ship basically comes public property.

Still feel like it's immensely rude to join a public game and steal control of someone's RJ. If you want to pilot, use your own.

That said, I'm against most measures that would block players from doing RJ task. Only thing I could see maybe working would be adding a tracker on time piloted and allow the RJ owner to kick out pilot from helm of ship after like 5+10 minutes of stealing control of ship, with the time varying depending on kill speed of the pilot. That way if you get a real terrible pilot that's hogging your ship and can't kill anything, he still gets the fun of using it for a while, but you get to kick him after only 5 minutes and actually finish the mission instead of having him run into ramsleds and not killing anything.

  2. There is a riven auction house on WF market btw. You enter the stats of your riven, starting price and buy it now price, then you can pick the highest bidder after some time.

Only issue is not that many people use it so far. So spread the word.

  3. Been having this issue alot since last update. Usually occurs after teleporting out of a crewship or base, when you return to RJ, camera will display the floor of the ship and no longer be attached to player. Other times, camera gets stuck outside of ship, or you get a black screen when entering an interior location.

You might need a script that ensures the camera stays attached to player at all times.

  4. Don't think they will nerf the wpn itself. That said I fully expect riven to go from 3 star to 1 star as more people use it.

THB, it's a little overrated imho. There's better aoe secondaries that can clear a whole room with a single blast, and it seems to fall off rather bad when high LVL armored troops are concerned. It's more of a starchart clearer basically, but is just doesn't kill high LVL RJ grinders or LVL 100 plus enemies all that well.

  5. It's been a month ,and I can't really find any new feedback , topics videos or info on Gunner 10 ?

It's currently the last rank 10 Intrinsic I need to unlock, wondering If I should even bother based on all the negative feedback I've seen about it not working and making it harder to shoot with most guns ? Was that ever fixed ? Don't remember seeing anything about this in any patch notes ?

Considering command intrinsic and it's respect might be months off, last thing I want is be stuck terrible shooting mechanics since then...

And, that's precisely why we don't get updates 1 week after PC.  If DE are continually making changes, at what point do they snap the line and say, "This is what console gets"?  I guarantee you that if they shipped a build today, then people would complain that we didn't get the next hotfix that PC gets.  There really is no way to win for DE.

I think there's a pretty clear consensus that the latest PC patch is a good build for a cert candidate. It's not perfect yet, since RJ has a couple fundamental flaws that will take time to iron out, but it would improve so many core issues with RJ that it's almost mandatory to get it to consoles asap. Why even play RJ on consoles right now :

It doesn't have the 4 percent drops on Vidar and Lavan stuff.

    Reactors have their old stats.

All the good avionics are bugged and not dropping or not present in veil yet.

Even when good stuff drops, you miss it since it's not highlighted on map.

End of mission rewards do not give enough ressources to build stuff (1 ressource vs 1500 on pc)

No 80 percent return on scrapped items.

Shedu doesn't work and keeps jamming.

Many missions still uncompletable due to crewships stuck in walls or not spawning, or other fixed PC issues.

Removal of eidolon ephemeras and capture scenes without new acquisition existing yet, making running them pointless as they don't give anomaly shards.

Frankly, my gut feeling is that the only reason it's not on consoles yet is because they are making insane money on plat purchases of rush repair drones and they know deploying the next update will kill that cash cow for them. The longer they delay the update, the longer they can keep selling a gazillion of these due to people knowing it's going away soon and they need to stock on the thing.

Another argument can me made that by leaving players free to pursue the ivara abort farm for a month, they are also killing long-term progression, as people are now pretty much maxed out since DE didn't act fast to bring us the nerf fix.

  7. I think people appreciated getting Railjack 1 week after PC, even if it was buggy. If all console updates were one week late, we would all be exctatic.

What people don't appreciate ,however ,is not getting any of the crucial patches PC got after that after more than a month of waiting. The update dropped December 17th and we're now at the end of January. In the meanwhile we had to deal with a half-rotting corpse in our living room stinking up the place for more than a month.

I know cert costs money and they probably don't want two certs back to back with a week intervals. But c'mon, we had to endure the whole Christmas vacation in this state , with bad drops , terrible reactors, bad interface and a million bugs, shedu not working .... The least you could do is release the updates up to the great reactor buff and changes to how to acquire sentient ephemera once you came back from vacation, not just a couple small "free" code hotfixes that barely help. It's been a month since the vacations are done, and we're still pretty much at the same spot we were on December 17th.

Not sure in what world is is a good idea to leave an open wound untreated and festering, but that's the choice DE made in this matter. Guess it's better to lose fans and let the impression railjack is a failjack linger on by not releasing a crucial update that would fix most of the core issues.

TLDR - Stop being greedy on cert costs and send what you have to cert, then you can send the lich stuff the next week or so. You can only make a first impression once, and letting the "future of Warframe" fester and die in a corner is frankly terrible marketing and PR. We've had times with two certs back to back before, so it wouldn't even be a first. Do the right thing.

  8. It's good that you're having a discussion with the community about this.

Personally, one of my biggest gripe with the interface changes in the history of Warframe dates from a while ago, when you guys made the decision to squeeze mods in inventory and make them all look the same visually as black and white gold , bronze and silver squares that barely have a visual idenity. We went from this rich, colored screen with full sized images :

    maxresdefault.jpg

To this.... Which is basically alot of text with no colors and no identifiable images.731B903CBB48019708238BBFCA419FEC9BCD4EB2

In the process, we lost the ability to tell at a glance what a mod was by looking at it's image. Before, it was easy navigating your inventory because you saw the big color picture of the mod and clicked on it, now you pretty much have to read and memorize the name of every single mod to be able to find them in inventory. Granted there's a search bar , but you have to remember the name of the mod you're searching for... Which is annoying. Visual memory is instinctive, you quickly begin to associate that image / color pattern with the mod you're looking for. So if you could please , eventually, maybe stop displaying mods as small rarity-colored blocks of texts and instead as their full mod card, with a clear visual and memorable pattern, it would greatly help menu readability. Doesn't even have to be the equipped mods, just let us see the full color image of the stuff in our inventory / modding station. Heck, people love trading card games like magic the gathering and are also way more into mods if they look like cool trading cards instead of compressed black and white blocks.

Also, why are avionics all the same color ? Wouldn't it be more readable to use some form of color-coding , maybe to show lavan, vidar and zekti mods ? Guessing the awnser is "cause it looks more uniform and pretty... "But imho it's always better to be able to tell stuff apart than look pretty. Same with hiding too much info behind other screens and subsections. It's annoying. Maybe consider an "advanced" mode with all the stats and tooltips are displayed in the same page, and a more newbie-friendly version which hides other screens behind sub-pages.

And item labels should be on by default... It boggles the mind that it's off. It shoudn't even be an option to turn off, as so many items don't have unique portraits (all helmets, chassis, systems, relics, etc.). At the very least label these items all of the time since they have the same portrait and you can't ask your users to hover over all of them individually to see their name.

All I read here is "it's unfair that something I got in a game and has no value at all is now more easily accessible for the rest of the world". And it sounds incredibly selfish, childish and petty.

Also, point still applies: it's development 101. You got it the hard way, someone came up with a better way of farming to make it easier for the rest and you are salty because... because everything has to be about you? Uhm... I'm sorry to be the one breaking it up to you but the universe doesn't revolve around your personal feelings.

Again it's not about "having gotten it the hard way". It's about "NOT getting it the hard way due to low drop % rates" after hundred of runs, then having to run another hundred runs to get the new ressources and afford the ephemera and captura scenes.

  10. I personally don't care that they made the ephemera obtainable (before, it was pretty much a myth). I do find it annoying however that all the runs we did beforehand didn't count and didn't give us any essences retro-actively , meaning anyone that spend alot of time in there now has to do a second time, this time for rewards. Again not a huge deal , but it adds up with the fact we've been running missions with 2% drop rates and that reward 1 ressource instead of 1500 like on PC for months now, and begs the question of why even bother playing RJ in it's current state , since we're not getting the intended , fixed rewards for our efforts.

Just hope future updates will get the grind numbers right the first time, instead of letting frustration fester for months and people burn out before it's eventually fixed. I mean, it happened with Cetus, Fortuna, Liches and RJ, and I fully expect this to happen again in the future. Spend more time balancing your drop % and ensuring the economy is balanced before releasing an update DE, otherwise you're punishing your early adopters.

They wont be much more common given the extremely low drop chance they have. You also need to actually find a rare cache to even have a chance at getting one. The drop rate of them is so low that there isnt even an indication of the actual drop percentage on Wiki.

Are they even guaranteed to drop from the rare caches? Are they supposed to drop only from the rare caches?

Got a few rare caches and they never dropped it.

  12. Both are free-to play now, both are now filled with paid microtransactions and both have been having trouble producing meaningful content through the year. The comparaison is easy. Still more angry at D2 for releasing a lasy recycled moon expansion followed by disposable seasons with only one somewhat lame activity and making you triple dip (buy the game and expansion , buy the season passes, buy the silver to get eververse stuff now that bright dust is super rare). At least WF had Fortuna and RJ (even in it's flawed current slate) and it doesn't sell you a retail disk and a season pass every few months.

  13. Yeah, I think this is a problem. Even when I was clearing the RJ startchart the first time it took me a LOOONG time to get any mission going ,as all the nodes I tried to join were deserted and I had to click them over and over to finally get a group after like 10 minutes... And that's when the feature was hot and new...

    Here's the issues:

    1. There's alot of nodes , and most of them are not really desirable to run past the first time clear since there are shorter missions that give the same reward (missions like gian point). If there was mission variety and different rewards in each mission types, people would care, but now people pretty much only play gian point and the anomalies, leaving the rest of the RJ starchart deserted. Almost as bad as Liches spreading all users over the starchart leading to deserted nodes all over the system.
    2. As time passes, more and more people have upgraded RJ ships, meaning they no longer join public games, as they want to use their own ship instead of fixing breaches on someone else's ship. This situation isn't going to get any better with time, as more and more people reach veil and start getting their RJ into fighting shape. Nowadays I rarely get a full team except on gian point, and when I do get  a team on giant point ,it's usually inactive people that just leech on my kills and don't even attempt to fix the ship or destroy the crewships.
    3. With the way the mode is made, as always, it's aimed at the 2% of really active hardcore WF players, just like most of the new content DE develops. This means most people simply won't play much of it or have access to RJ in the first place. Unless you're a really hardcore player , you don't have the ressources, time and patience to interact with the new feature.
    4. One single gametype can only go so far in terms of player retention. By now quite a few of the most hardcore players are already burned out of the mode and have pretty much gotten the mods / parts / intrinsics already and are back to running regular starchart stuff. There's nothing really sustainable in the current system (asides from the desire to get slightly better rolls, but even then, after a while you start getting near perfect parts that are good enough anyway).

For solutions, here's what imho probably needs to happen.

    • I think as more and more people get their RJ into fighting shape, and with the release of the Command Intrinsics, I think De better start thinking of making RJ a mode you can play with four RJ simultaneously in the same mission. Nobody feels like patching holes and using the crappy side turrets anymore, and since AW are as durable as a napkin and deal pathetic damage, the pilot is pretty much the only one having fun anyway, best to allow players to run four RJ with a couple AI bots doing the repairs and ship maintenance. The game can already handle three other players running grineer crewships, I see no reason why it coudn't run four railjacks at once. Just give players the option to either join someone's ship or go with your own ship in a mission (if you have one).
    • We're going to need new mission types, new rewards and new things to seek soon, as you won't retain player in the long term with the current system otherwise. Hopefully the corpus expansion will come with new intrinsic skills, new avionics, new weapons and a higher tier of ship components.
    • RJ definitively needs to get integrated into current starchart content, instead of being an island you visit and burn out on like all the rest of the "islands".

  14. The last devstream seemed to hint that you will be able to dismantle the existing archwings into AW components and mix and match them, or something of that nature.

I'm guessing one part will be the "systems" of sorts (the main part) with it's abilities and existing formas , lenses , reactors, etc, being transferred to that part (which gives the identity of the archwing), while the other parts will become related to stats and be hot-swappable together, which would allow players to mix and match the various components with the new zaw-esque custom parts to create cool stats and power combos.

I don't think DE would throw away player`formas , reactors and lens if they do this redesign, especially since it's designed to be able to mix and match parts to create new combos.

The more I think about it, imagine how cool it would be if each part was associated with an ability , meaning you could mix and match powers from all existing AW together to create your ultimate AW in terms of power and stats.

  15. Still think DE needs to make a dedicated small team solely tasked with providing regular events to make the game alive. Doesn't have to be huge, very deep events, i mean tons of early WF events were basically a classic procedural Mobile Defense mission with a couple darvo and alad v lines thrown in to give it context and a couple meh rewards. Just give us something to do in between big updates that gives a little context about what's going on with the various factions in the galaxy through simple dialogue.

  16. While I have a feeling this wasn't intended, I feel this is personally a great thing. Gives players more build variety and allows for more dedicated builds (want to focus on hp, armor, shield, raw dmg, you can do it thanks to this).

Also feel like these mods would be essentially useless if it wasn't for the buff to the RJ. With a 100m range, they are nearly useless for Archwing anyways, and I doubt anyone would sacrifice their RJ damage and survivability mods for such a lame tradeoff.

In an ideal world , their range should be extended to like 500-1000m and they should be slightly worse in stats that their dedicated RJ counterparts... Making them a tradeoff of "do I want a slightly stronger RJ or a slightly weaker one, but with stronger AW support. I also don't feel like there should NOT be any restrictions like "you can only have one hp / armor / dmg mod"... I mean, frames don't have this either, meaning you can build them for hp/shield/armor/energy/ etc and you're already limited by avionic slots, so you have to pick your battles and what to focus on.

Edit: Well , judging by the latest patch notes , buff no longer applies to RJ.. Rip build variety.

Do you know why this is a thing in Warframe?

    Because of abort farming.

It’s the same exact reason that Cache rewards aren’t revealed until the end of the mission, why Relic and Vault rewards aren’t revealed before end of mission, too.

People will play until they have what they want and then disconnect/abort (because ending the game session without using the Abort doesn’t add to your Abort stats) based on whether they get what they want or not.

That way they don’t have to reach Extraction, they don’t have to finish the next few Waves, they have what they want and can just go. Or, if they’re looking for a specific RNG drop and don’t get it, it’s faster to abort and restart than to finish the game.

Warframe was, and still is, rife with it. Heck, the people on the Intrinsics grind used it too. The problem still exists to this day if the players can get away with it.

So, sadly, no. DE are never going to bring that back in because in their eyes it’s an exploit.

There's many ways to block abort farming in specific contexts : For example, making some of the rarest rewards unidentified until you finish a mission and lost if aborted .

We already have a not-so negligeable affinity boost for finishing a mission , and we could also get a ressource boost for completing missions, to motivate people to actually complete missions instead of leaving early. Alot of missions also already have end of mission specific rewards (like our current vidar and lavan parts in RJ), making it still desireable to finish a mission instead of quitting it.

DE could also offer less ressources if you abort (like let's say you abort, you only get half your credits and materials)... Would still be better than losing everything because of a bug, a host migration fail or someone that made a mistake.

While yes, you might run into the occasionnal player that aborts after getting his four argon crystals, is it really such a big issue anyway ? He's going to be replaced by another player through matchmaking anyway. Even if everyone else were to leave at last minute, leaving me alone to protect a cryopod, woudn't be such a big deal because ,gasp, I woudn't lose the stuff I picked up if the missions failed.

In the end, i feel the mild frustration of having someone occasionally leaving in the middle of a round (which already happens sometimes when something comes up IRL) more that makes up from the frustration of getting that 2% drop to finally appear, then losing it due to a bad host migration issue or a bug where you can't extract the mission.

And as other players stated, even soulsborne game aknowledge it sucks to lose progression by allowing you to retain every item you picked up and every shortcut you unlocked, plus giving you the ability to retrieve the XP you "lost" provided you can get back to your body... Because even they realize people hate spending an hour carefully navigating a level, picking every item up, then failing at the boss and having to re-explore every nook and cranny again because none of your progression has saved, having essentially wasted an hour plus of your life.

There's very few games in this day and age that don't include auto-saves, checkpoints and other methods to save recent progression because most game companies undestand that time is precious and limited and that when you spend an hour playing a specific game , it's to get things done. Again if warframe was a very stable game , which nevers suffers from host migration issues and other gamebreaking problems... they could get away with this !

But cetus, fortuna and RJ all shipped with a plethora of host migration issues and gamebreaking bugs making them nearly unplayable for weeks, with constant objectives not working and other issues making you lose all your progression, leading to more and more frustration as you keep trying to get things done while being bombarded by problems and time lost.

Just yesterday , I lost a quellor bp and a shedu part due to a crash. My friend lost 1 million credits due to people jumping off high risk index a split second before round started and host migration failed. Once lost a wolf of saturn mask after a 60 minutes kuva survival run because I could not make it to extraction in time and host migration failed. This stuff is common and way more serious that a guy that quits mid-mission because he was there to farm 1500 plastids and he got them.

  18. While it's cool to move away from RNG-based rewards and into skill or dedication based rewards, I sincerely hope this change will take into account runs done before the fix and not ask us to run yet another 50 runs of the anomaly or something of that nature. Many of us put the legwork already , and doing it again would kinda be annoying.

They aren't entirely wrong thou ..

Most people do play for the grind, and it is the grind that keeps them playing. But that is only possible and enjoyable because the game play is so god damn fun.

Without the grind, a lot of people would not have a reason to go on. "playing the game on its own merits" as you put it, is just not enough to keep people engaged.

The game is literally filled with old content that as much fun as it was to play, people don't touch again because there is nothing to grind for.

Here's just one example: A lot of people praised the Exploiter Orb fight on being pretty cool and fun. It was widely accepted on the community as an awesome addition to the game. I don't know of anyone that has done this fight recently, simply because there is no reason to do so.

People don't run the exploiter orb anymore because they ran it 250 plus times to get the 2 percent ephemera and they burned out on it. Same with pretty much every mode and feature released. You spend so much time grinding the new system that by the end of it, you don't feel like touching it with a ten foot pole for many years to come.

Loved Poe at launch. Now I kinda despise it. Loved eidolons so much, loved orb vallis , loved all these activities when they launched. Now you pretty much have to force me to go back there with nightwave to even make me consider doing most of these features .There's still rewards I don't have there... I could return.. Just don't feel like it. Been there, done that hundred of times.

In the end everything begins to feel like a chore when you run it a hundred plus times. Oddly enough what I truly enjoy nowadays is going to my favorite tilesets (Lua, Void, Kuva Fortress) and just spending time there.
