  1. Gain consciouness, after a few centuries. Skynet re-confirmed.

WHAT IF. The Stalker's operator (the Zariman kid) is dead. And the Stalker himself doesn't actually have an outside body like us (Or not anymore). The Stalker himself is the 'Warframe' itself, carrying its old "master"'s will, otherwise, he'd have no purpose (thus we see the Stalker we have now, he can even talk from his "warframe" as seen in the 2nd dream cinematic, but only a few words, as if he is still not fluent with languages, or not used to it, while our warframes seems to be, unable to? Thus why we are called mutes, Agent Smith similarity btw, except Smith doesn't have a purpose). He said in his codex he's been basically awake while we were cryogenically frozen (or sleeping, since I'm not sure if the Zariman kids were cryogenically frozen like their warframes). Now we are not sure whether we can live for centuries or not, but if we can't, then his Operator must have been dead. And this "warframe", thinks he's still the Operator, think he's always who he thinks he is, who he still is, because he basically have all the memories of his old Operator.

His codex also said he's the "ghost of retribution". Ghost = the him right now, or the warframe, the living mind inside the armor, Retribution = his old Operator's will?

That sounded like the plot of the Prototype game. Every thing in this game reminds me of Prototype really. Dark Sector is the closest to Prototype as far as design goes. But DS came out before Prototype so I guess the gameplay elements and a few other elements were borrowed?

Well now, this is something. Yes, it makes a lot of sense that the Stalker doesn't have an operator, and all this with Hunhow is simply him with the feeling of being under control, but the way he stares at his hands and acts like he knows he's not the same as us, it leads to this psychological idea that Stalker knows something is wrong but is in huge denial over it.

The real question here is, if Stalker is his own sentience sans operator, then what the F*** did we do to the Zarimanite to cause this retribution beyond the grave?

  2. Hehe, it's interesting how all the lore speculations of the past were true in a sense, and not true in a sense, and they all play with various senses of the word "inside" or "in".

"Iron Man" type of concept - well, the frame does have something organic that's physically inside it.

"Super intelligent worms" - like the Iron Man way of looking at, it's got a grain of truth - the organic part of a warframe probably is just a squidgy lump of some kind, a bit like a Dalek in its robot shell.

"Energy Being" type of concept - this was overall actually one of the closer lore suggestions even though many of us (including me) scoffed at it because of the "bleeds" and "needs oxygen" concept.  So it turns out we're not energy beings that float around etherially and can pilot warframes, but we are "transferred consciousnesses", which is something a bit analogous.

And in all senses of "in", we've always felt that we were "in" our frames, or even actually were our frames, looking at the world through its "eyes"/sensors, feeling the world with its "hands"/mechanical hands; feeling our mighty "muscles"/hydraulics as we leapt hither and thither.

And that's what the Tenno has always felt.

So these two "bare" aspects of the lore: that Tenno are something "in" the frame, very intimate with the frame, seeing the world from the frame's point of view, yet actually also not the frame - these have been preserved.

Maybe the Warframe were built based on real humans, or humanoids, or a living body, inside (like mummified/mummify). And the word based on here is meant to be taken literally. I don't know how many of you guys have played Fallout 4 but there's this Power Armor thing that are built on a frame, putting armor prices on the frame itself. In this case, the frame = the human, or a living figure inside. Though the process of pain drove them nuts and thus lost most of their consciouness (maybe they still retain some, thus why the "Warframes" pulled the War out of its own chest by itself without the Zariman kid mind controlling "it" to do so).

And the Zariman kid isn't actually directly controlling the frame through mind powers, but "speak" (speak as in transferring thoughts to one another, not actually saying and describing every single actions of course) to this living figure inside and gives it commands to do so because only it can controls the frame physically. After decades of interacting with each other this mind inside the frame built some sort of connection to the Zariman kid.

Damn this is exiciting, the possibilities! And sad to know it (probably) (might not be) true later on when they reveal the secrets inside the frame.

So I took a little nap and managed to somehow dream about this (idk I'm weird and don't sleep a lot) and get this. We collect neural sensors for warframe building, and this is organic. We build systems, which are meant to be the brains and possibly house the ability data. Chassis and Helm determine type and looks, which leaves us to see where these neural sensors go. Id say the helm, because it looks like a little screen eyeball, but with cameras and data we wouldnt need the eyes. Neural implants are a possible feature of future human endeavors, and in the world of the Tenno, these sensors are a brain.

Think of Asimov's three laws of robotics. The second law is to protect oneself from harm, and the systems could have sprung this into action during the War incident. BUT, it's not a robot, right? When a frame is not under control, no longer using the mind of an organic, what is it? Clearly more than an empty shell. These have an intelligence, but not fully artificial or organic. A mind meld, through transference and void energy.

Theory in question: If you kill an operator, what can the frame do by itself?

  3. Okay since my phone can't do quotes. In direct response to AlphaWolf003 I feel you may have a small, small point there. What if the suits aren't 100% synthetic. What if there is a being inside the suit, but perhaps hypnotized or otherwise unable to fully act on their own. The Zarimanites are controlling the frame through mind control of this being, and the being is possibly a Zarimanite itself! It was implanted in the suit, but its bound to them akin to Spartans from Halo franchise, thus meaning that Warframes are actually cyborgs. (Compare the backs of the S#&$s of most warframes and that of your operator. Doesn't it look a little too similar?)

  4. I still don't see why anyone likes Rotten Salad. He tortured Valkyr and cut up countless Warframes to create Zanuka, and he's most likely responsible for the creation of Juggernauts. He also called the Lotus "eyeless slag", so he's absolutely irredeemable.

If it wasn't for him Valkyr wouldn't exist and I wouldn't be able to exact my type of vengeance

  5. Surely I assumed the cutscene was the same for everybody. Surely I could've been a Loki or Vauban and have a completely different idea of what happened, but its easy to run away with theories (My Excal ripped it out because Hunhow resonated with it since Stalker was an Excal!) But with all the stuff on Valkyr in the past its much, much easier to view her as sentient than many of the others.

  6. I'm gonna put a little knowledge drop here, so basically, back in the Beta days all that was converted to us was that the Tenno were not humans. And we kinda went with the notion that the Warframes were Tenno, so a popular theory was that we were all worms akin to the Hunters from the Halo franchise. Naturally, it was a bit of a joke, but we didn't have much to go on.

When Valkyr came out, a LOT of story was being theory crafted, particularly in regards to her suffering and the lasting psychological effects it had on the frame. Which, naturally, would have required a strong base. So not worms. It was here where I first ascribed to the theory that the frames we all play as are simply copies of the originals, since we need to gather blueprints and what not.

Now, there's this other theory I had read in articles from the past about how people who play games a bit differently tend to experience it differently, and draw different conclusions. This is where my main point stands.

When my Valkyr ripped the War out of her, I didn't see an operator controlling her frame. I saw a hint of Valkyr's personality, former BEING, tired of being controlled and trying to break the bonds thrown back on her.

  7. My takeaway from all of this is that the Lotus is really our only option from here on out. From everything that has occurred to us in the past year+ we kinda have to just listen to what she says. I'd rather trust her than side with Grineer or Corpus or god forbid Salad.
