If it was up to me, Rivens wouldn't exist.

If it was up to you, a good portion of us vets would be long gone. Rivens are wnat made some of us stay in the game by making some weapons we always loved, who were lackluster at best, finally shine. The more players there are, the more this game continues to exist.

Nice to have an opinion, but sometimes maybe, just maybe think of the broader implications.. The more options we have the better.

. I'll just have to wait a few more weeks to have my 27.

Wow, 27 is possible.. I finally got cured around the time they introduced 50 pvp only mods in a single update from having to have everything and have it max rank.

I am rank 22, ready for test to 23 but I just never take it.. No shame in just being a Dragon, + ever since I stopped obsessing with being max rank, WF has become much more fun, much less work.

    HI

Mischief says smeeta is cloaked for 9s every 7s

Does that mean the cat is cloaked permanently? or until the decoy is dead

    Thanks

If it was permanently that would make for an immortal kitty. So no, but it does help it survive a bit more, keep the mobs occupied and by extension help you take a bit less damage too.

But keep Charm  first to make most of smeeta..

  4. It might be impossible this time my friend.. While it was still in 25-65 range.. 2 years ago.. sometimes you would see someone.. But with Iwaj and his 180k offer that stood for so long (dunno if he even got it in the end, i hope he did)..

You might have better chance hitting the lotto..

  5. I copy/pasted and nothing.. Nice to know exactly what the stats are.. Especially if you want to try and sell it for some good price. You could just write the exact stats in chat.

Since nerf, a lot of 3+ Rubico became borderline useless for gas builds because it just leaves too much impact. Mine riven went from -99 impact to -87 or something, and you can really feel it. Now it's just shines for Eido or HM.

  6. Dear lord, will I ever find Arca scisco with -puncture, -recoil/+dmg/+tox and +ms +cc..  Same deal for Akmagnus but with -impact.. Like rolled 20 of each already.. Bought both, but I got:

    +CC +MS +ammo max -impact Akmagnus,

and unrolled +CC +MS -67 puncture Arca Scisco.. need 3 + stats for close to -100 puncture, but only riven I ever almost bought seller wanted 6k for it..

Seems like mission impossible..   Can those two become more popular, so I can find and buy them but not for millions?

When I first started playing, I was an idiot and bought a couple of Prime Access packs from someone other than DE.

Once I discovered he was doing chargebacks on everything he sold, I stopped spending any plat, and largely stopped playing, as my account felt tainted.

I began playing regularly again a couple of weeks ago, and upon logging in last Saturday, received a message that items obtained from Steam were removed from my account. My plat dropped from 7k to -3.7k.

I knew why this had happened, and understood completely. I immediately bought the Mesa prime pack to bring my plat back up to 260 so I could play again

The problem is, I don't feel that I want to. I love the game, but having read various stories of people going negative plat, just from selling items, or receiving gifts, I'm afraid to put any more time or money in.

During my time in the game, I've bought, sold, traded and gifted various items. How am I to know if any of those trades were tainted? It took 8 months for DE to remove the stolen Prime Packs from my account (again, not bitter they removed them, understand completely), so anything I do or pay for the next year could be wasted if somewhere along the line, tainted plat entered the equation.

To clarify, I have no intention of buying plat or packs from anyone other than DE, but I do enjoy trading, and that could get me locked out again, which leaves me cold.

Sorry for the long post, just not sure what to do. And yes, I opened a ticket, 2 days ago. But now that I've paid to bring my plat into the positive, I'm not sure there's anything DE can or will say.

Just don't buy anything from outside of DE. As for trading, most vets like myself keep on playing exactly because we can trade almost anything. I am not even talking about trying to become a plat billionaire, just the fact that I can jump into game after a few days/ weeks/ months, and if there was something out I like, I can get it right away..

I can play what I like, while buying other stuff I want that's hidden behind a grind I am not willing to do anymore.. So I can make plat while having fun, and get with it stuff I want that I don't want to grind for..

I would go as far to say trading and especially rivens are what kept me in game last two years.

I have yet to get scammed and I sold and bought without exaggeration 100s of rivens.. You are only at risk when receiving plat.Just use common sense.. And never sell something for more plat then you already own. Getting cheated with charge back is so damn rare. If you come to forums, sure it will seem like it happens a lot, because only the people that it has happen to tell about it..

You just don't hear about millions of trades that went fine.. Don't be scarred.

  8. About 90% of my game play is pub. 10% is solo or with friends. If there is an afk person in mission (and I don't encounter that often) - that just means more spawns, more loot and more exp for the rest of us. Can any of you explain to me in plain English why do we have this topic almost every week for the last 5 years when you can always go invite only and play with friends?

       Such a non issue..

Rivens aren't a "tad" better, it's in a league of it's own. Not just 2 stats. Not 1 postive and 1 negative stats (ever wonder why Nightmare modes aren't played now???).

It can be 3 positive stats and 1 negative. It takes the place of *2* mod slots worth of stats.

THAT's the definition of power creep.

    Again, your point being?

We came a long way from Hind to Tiberon Prime, did we not?

  10. 18 hours ago, Kevyne_Kicklighter said:

Problem is the power creep it caused. Now most +stat mods BUT a Riven are worthless. That invalidates most of the mods out there, which honestly is taking up too much space as it is (especially if you add the Riven count to it). Hope DE revisits mods as it's a shame seeing the rare one stat mods being transmute fodder.

Oh please, if you find some rare weapon mods as fodder, it's usually because they are.

Power creep is here with rivens or without, by simple fact that every new shiny needs to be just a tad better for people to want it. Removing rivens is what would make my type of vet leave warframe for good. Rivens brought new life into this game for a lot of us.

Dunno what is wrong with people.. try some, don't just complain. You don't need perfect stats on a riven to make it very, very good. Some with just pure QOL stats make for a totally different feel to old weapons, which might make you use them to great enjoyment.

  11. 23 hours ago, trst said:

Then what becomes the point of Rivens besides making them a +damage, multishot, elemental damage/crit stats -negligible stat mod for every weapon?

If it was easy to get this mod then Warframe's progression grinds to a halt once you reach the "Riven wall" where you need to do nothing but farm Rivens and Kuva until you get the weapon Riven you want and still rng the stats out. This 'Riven wall" does not exist currently but it'll need to if Riven mods become this easy.

I'm not saying that they don't need changes at all but that stat locking is not the change they need currently.

Yup, only thing I would change is make them a bit cheaper to roll pass 7 or 8 rolls. Whole kuva flood on a booster + another kuva mission just for one roll is crazy, It's the reason I try to buy as many as possible of rivens of the weapon I want to trick out, for as little plat as possible..

Just so that I could endo them without much remorse once 9/10 times I don't even get something to upgrade what I already have.

If we get stat locking, it would need to be something crazy. Let's say 100-200k kuva per stat seems reasonable to me.. It would still make for a flood of near perfect rivens, but knowing days of farming kuva went into every single one of them, they would keep their price somewhat still..

I literally hate the whole thing about the Eidolons. I'm MR22, and literally have every mission completed on console and still have been avoiding Eidolon fights. They look clunky, and like a giant pain in the rear and I was hoping i wouldnt need them.

Then i looked at the mats I need for rep to my next amp I want (dont even get me started on the rep on this crap already) but it appeared I had to kill some. Then i checked the mats on the item from the end of the chimera mission or whatever. Just ugh...

You are like me. I avoided them for the longest time because after all the thousands of hours I've put in this game, I never force myself to grind for anything. If I can't passively (but efficiently of course, with booster, smeeta, the works..) farm some fun mission for me, I will not bore myself grinding anything. I don't have to have all.

Only exceptions being kuva floods and Index from time to time, but those never feel like grind. Doing eidolons with mote amp is beyond horrific. It is so agonizingly slow, that after my first try solo and getting just two limbs down for the whole night, I didn't touch them for next two months.

I advice if you got plat, are a vet etc, to buy with plat all the resources you need for first better amp then basic mote. Then get someone that likes plains to help you with farming wisps. In the end, one night I meet a guy, we hit it off right away with jokes, next night he helps me get all the wisps I needed and some other mats that he knew where to find in plains. We finished the farm in one night.

Now with my (NOT MOTE) amp, I suddenly can do 2 eidloans per night, the fight is still a bit dragged out (the shield part), but it's also kinda fun, and just that switch from basic to first upgraded amp made all the difference.

It hurts only a little at start. I still don't have a single zaw and don't plan on getting them. Thankfully DE made it possible to buy random finished kit guns, yey!

No. That riven is good. Status procs all the time and damage gets two boosts.  Crit-build the vulkar, and it will be somewhat useful up to around level 60 mobs easily.

Heh, how else would he build it? It's a keeper for personal use, but would be a hard sale.. Not worth much more then unrolled in my eyes so 200p..

Also, you can do forever scaling HM build on snipers and with it, they stay usefull and 1 shot with first slash proc for many hundreds of levels.. I took Vulkar W to about lvl 450..

Not be able to afford it.

I consistently get 75% offs, and I just stare at them as they tick down and I can't use them. I watch, in between missions, as the number roll down, second by second, and remice all the things I could do with plat, trading simple produces small amounts of 20 plat, imagine what I could do with 3000. The thought shivers down my spine, though tempered by years of being poor, I watch sadly, as the hour switches, one hour, lost, only to repeat 23 more times before disappearing once more into the void. Each time I return from a mission, that small icon is still sitting there, white starkly contrasting the dark space, clean lines, unlike my life. I shake my head, I've already spent too much time looking at it, I load up another mission, and I once again begin the grind for plat without needing money, a few more missions, and I've only made 40p. Logging off, I head over to my bed and seek for the embrace of sleep, hopeful that I will be able to work more, lest I see the flashing icon taunting me one more time before it expires, though I know it is futile, I need to play, I need to make plat to buy my things, this is the last chance for me to enjoy the game, before the constant system requirements finally beat my computer, one that has held on with me for years. Will I buy another computer then? I doubt it, not something I am willing to do, too much investment. What will happen when I stop playing Warframe? Will I disappear onto the shell I once was? What will I lose? Warframe has been there for me since the beginning, it has taught me a new life, and I shudder to think what will happen when it is gone.

What are you on about? If being poor tenno upset you that much, you would be making platinum by trading like most do.. If you don't have money, you got time.

I never understood the "just remove your mods" argument.

Removing all your mods will not make the game harder (because it's the same difficulty it's always been). It's just making yourself weaker, which no one wants to do. People are asking for more difficult content, and artificially limiting yourself is not providing that. Again, because the actual content remains the same. It's like playing golf with a handicap. You do that to give your opponent a chance. But any good golfer, if asked, would almost certainly say that instead of playing against lesser opponents with a handicap, they would much rather prefer a better opponent on their own level.

Hence I do not control the difficulty at all. It's set in stone. I just control how powerful I am when confronting that difficulty. And that is not what people are asking for. They are asking for higher difficulty, which is something completely different.

You control game difficulty in what frames you bring. Taking mods off is stupid, however try and reach  1h of mot with a fun group of frames. Bring no CC frame and difficulty goes way up. It's the way how I still have fun in this game after almost 6k hours. Run and gun, and as little crowd control as possible.

I thought "bad platinum" resulted from the good old "stereotypic chinese gold farmer" issue?

    - Farm platinum through in game means (run fissures, sell prime parts, play the market)
    - Accumulate a large amount of platinum
    - Sell platinum for real life money to another player
    - Do this long enough and on a large enough scale that it's being detected by DE

-> The platinum you have sold to other players has become "bad"

That's not how Chinese farmers go, as much as I understand. You get in posession of a few stollen credit cards.. You wait for the 75% discount then buy all the platinum you can afford. After, sell it at 50% off to entice sales..

  18. 36 minutes ago, AEP8FlyBoy said:

Because you could only trade for one set at a time, you really should've waited to trade him the Riven until the 2nd trade. This has happened to me before as well because I offered a complete side of my trade, when the other only offered half (before running off).

This is why I prefer a one-and-done approach to trading, and if the transaction requires more than a single trade, give half or a third of the original value offered (in platinum) or wait until the end to give the single item or set.

Also, might wanna remove that guy's name and report this to Warframe Support.
I'm sure they'll be able to help you out.

Exactly this,,  also don't name and shame.. you will catch more flak then the "scammer" OP..

  19. Looks great. Beside that, my experience today was:

1  - ok, this is super usefull, and you can damage/kill your new friends - not bad at all.

2 - hm, so like a layer of added safety, not bad again..

3 - kinda a long cast, slow and feels like it needs that mod to cast faster for which my no forma build has no room. meh.

4 - What??!!! Just turn on ulti that is damage AOE during which time you can't jump, run, use guns or other abilities.

I thought we were past such stale ultimate abilities..

Back to the drawer to see light of day, someday, just not any time soon. To 30 with booster is all I needed to get bored with him. I did kuva farm missions, I didn't just go defence mission and max affinity and I still god bored in a mater of hours.

If anyone is interested, my prefered style of play is run and gun. The less abilities you got to use, the better. Perfect examples.. Wukong with defy + snipers,

Or Peacefull provocation Equinox, or Chroma..  One or two abilities, to survive, none to CC and none to kill, just pure run, aim, shoot..

So are you saying to never update Dispositions?

If that's the case, how might you define Dispositions?

Imagine this. Lanka wasn't that favored for everything before but it wasn't really unknown so it got nice 3/5 if I am not mistaking.

Circumstances changed, Eidolans arrived and all of a sudden, Lanka's usage for that specific mission went up. (It would be interesting to see if Lanka usage over all missions also went up, I don't remember seeing it much in normal missions at all.) So because you can squeeze nice bit of damage out of 3/5 disposition because of sniper mechanics, it has become meta for chasing the big ones). Now you go and drop it to Tigris level, 1/5.

The result is, it's lot less used and some other weapon takes it place. Now you have rarely used weapon with weakest disposition. So a year goes by and time for another disposition reexamining, and you get it back to 3/5..

In the end, you changed meta for a year only to return to the same point. What you lost is rivens going for 5-10-20k since no one want's to spend that much plat and get his riven nerfed.  Lanka isn't the only weapon with extreme prices for perfect rivens, Vectis is in this club also Kohm.

If you can suggest how to do riven dispositions so that we avoid market instability, less profit for DE (there are whales there just drop cash and get what they want, not everyone grindes trade chat for a year to have some ching ching to spend), only to in time return to the same point, I would like to know.

I don't see rivens dispositions changing, what is more likely is if we ever again get a Prime weapon who's normal counterpart is totally obscure, has 5/5 disposition, but since powercreep and everything new has to be top tier to be interesting, they will probably do it then, I don't see it happening any other way.

As for defining dispositions, we all know it. Usage before rivens were a thing is how they made them. Less used - higher disposition.

Lowering dispositions once weapons are being used precisely because some of them become so good with rivens defeats the point doesn't it?
