  1. Alright, well I've gotten into a typing frenzy thanks to having to delve into the lore surrounding the Warframes, and it left me with a feeling that I wanted to share my thoughts on the Warframes, Margulis, and Natah, and how they might possibly be connected to one another.

I actually typed a tad of this up as a response in another theory-crafting thread a few weeks ago, so if you by chance have seen this, bear with me.  I'll be making use of Spoiler Tabs, simply to make this thread more readable.

    Margulis

    Spoiler

First, let's explore Margulis and her part that she plays in the story of the Tenno.  Margulis is first encountered(possibly, as it was never confirmed, and the original entry states that the character's name was "Kaleen") finding children aboard the Zariman 10-0.  She was afflicted by their Void Powers, blinding and scarring her face.  There is still a possibility that this was not Margulis, but most of Margulis's interaction with the Tenno and her ultimate fate seems spot-on for a link to be drawn to this "Kaleen" character, who has never been mentioned since the Ember Prime Codex Entry.

From what we know if Kaleen is indeed Margulis, she saw the fearful children aboard the Zariman 10-0, and despite affliction she was faced with, she pushed on and held the children dear.  Margulis was a mother to them after they lost their families, and she may have even developed an interest for motherhood, in a similar fashion to what we see in the "Natah" quest for Lotus.

Transference becomes a possibility thanks to the the scientific efforts of Margulis and the Orokin, but it doesn't take long to realize what this means for the Tenno.  The Orokin intend to build a super-weapon to conquer their enemies(ironically enough, the enemies that they themselves created) - The Warframes.  Margulis would naturally object to this, so it's questionable as to if she was even still alive after the creation of the first Warframes.  Saryn Prime's Reveal certainly suggests that at the very least, she was dead before Saryn's creation.

    Setting the Stage: Story-line Progression

    Spoiler

Really, the whole time frame is very fractured at the moment.  If you follow the Corpus Detron Crewman's Entry and consider the scientist being executed mentioned in the beginning to be Margulis, then this means that the events of the Zariman 10-0 occurred before the creation of the Sentients and Infested.  That really wacks with a lot of the possibilities of the timeline, but at the same time, would suggest that Transference came a good time after the Tenno were first placed in Cryostasis.

So if that's actually the case, then that puts the creation of the Sentients, Infested, and Warframes within a somewhat small window, assuming that the Orokin age like a human would be expected to.  I would personally expect no more than 30 years from the events of the Zariman 10-0 and the beginning of the Great War if that were the case, as I'm doubtful that Ballas could keep such a job past his 50s and 60s.  Executing people is hard work....  Ballas even mentions Transference's inception into the story-line, and mentions the "rejects" that were sent to Lua:

    Quote

"...it's about the other rejects we consigned to Lua a few years ago. They're calling it... Transference."

That still doesn't place a pin on the introduction of the Tenno, but if the consigning occurred shortly after the children came back, then that shortens the time-frame considerably.
If we make some assumptions for this story-line here, and say that Margulis was executed within a year's time of the return of the Zariman 10-0, and that was indeed her in the both the Ember Prime and Corpus Detron Crewman Entries, then we can assume that the creation of the Sentients and Infested occurred either before or around the time of the discovery of Transference.

Personally though, I believe that this individual wasn't Margulis in the Detron Crewman's Entry simply for the fact that shifting the Sentient and Infested timeframe ahead of the Zariman 10-0 helps flesh out a timeline that doesn't seem so crazily rushed.  It was mentioned somewhere, but I can't seem to find where, that the Zariman 10-0 was jumping to the Lua system as a part of the first wave of ships to arrive after the terraforming that would've been completed by the Sentients.  It could indeed be that the Sentients were waiting for them there, the Tenno actually "lucked out" that the jump failed, and weren't annihilated on arrival like the rest of the Orokin who arrived on the other side.

So to hopefully mock up a plausible timeline, we have this:
Items with Question Marks Can easily be adjusted accordingly to fit different storyline criteria.

    Spoiler
    • Creation of the Sentients - Sentients sent to Terraform Lua
    • Zariman Jump to Lua(Zariman 10-0 incident)
    • Sentients begin travelling to Terminus
    • Tenno Placed in Cryostasis
    • Margulis Executed
    • First combat encounters of Sentients(?) - Technological Improvements
    • Infestation Created(?)
    • Tenno subjected to Experiments on Lua
    • Warframe Creation(?(Possibly hinted in Rhino Prime Codex))
    • Sentients arrive in full force(?) - Infestation uncontrollable(?)
    • Great War Erupts - Tenno and Warframes show great Success
    • Natah sent through Void to infiltrate Orokin Empire and manipulate Tenno
    • Great War Continues, exhausting Orokin Empire - Natah Successful
    • Supposed End of Great War - Sentients hide away - Tenno Betrayal
    • Moon placed in Void by Natah - Tenno in Cryostasis - Warframes scattered across System

Now with a plausible timeline in place, I'll begin covering the topics of Warframes, Natah, and Margulis a little more in-depth.

    What are Warframes exactly?
This is copied from a response to another post earlier.  I'll be revising it to make it fall more in line with this post here.

    Spoiler

Pretty much all content in the Codex that talks about the creation of Warframes suggests that they are some kind of culmination of the orokin's 3 most potent technologies, or at least 2.  Sentient and Infested technology, and possibly even Grineer Cloning seem make up the Warframes.

The thing that seems most likely have caused the events in the Second Dream quest(breaking War without the assistance of the Operator) is the infested flesh of the Warframe.  The infested is a Hive-mind, as shown by both codex entries and gameplay.  What this means is that infested flesh shares a will across all other forms of infestation.  If you've ever seen the movie "Edge of Tomorrow", which is based off of the novel "All You Need is Kill", the enemies there are also a Hive-mind.  Infested flesh lives independently of the main source of consciousness, but essentially follows the "Queen's" will(Queen being the main source of consciousness).  That flesh can also communicate to other organisms that share similarities with one another, which is shown by Infested bosses communicating with us in dialogue, and referring to us as "one of us."  Another thing that you can find in the codex, and also by listening to the operator, is that the older infested entities that have fed on creatures are more powerful, and possibly posses more of a consciousness than younger, weaker infested bodies.

If the Warframes are indeed made of infested flesh, then it is possible that they do in fact contain a form of consciousness within them.  But the question has to be asked - How does the Warframe not simply join the ranks of the infested Hive-mind if it is made of infested flesh?  For one, the operator when talking about the infested suggests that we are "immune" to them, but they still attack us.  Infested attack for the purpose of spreading their infestation, and expanding their ranks.  They're essentially a virus or bacteria.  Every action is for the sake of survival and expansion.  There is something that separates the infested flesh found in our enemies and the infested flesh found inside our Warframes.  This starts moving on to my personal theory about the Warframes at this point, which are two potentially conjoined theories as well.  Sentients continually adapt and build, while Grineer flesh rapidly decomposes.

What if the infested flesh inside of our Warframe is continually decomposing, like the Grineer, and then being rebuilt, by the Sentient technology, making it an entirely new substance?  This would allow a fairly potent regeneration factor while being incredibly resilient to damage.  All the while, the current infestation cannot affect the flesh nor conscious if adapted by the Sentient technology, and the flesh cannot continue to age and build a progressively complex conscious, essentially stunting and freezing its intelligence to a similar level that was displayed during the Second Dream quest.

This could be a possible explanation for what we witnessed in the Second Dream Questline, and if the Rhino Prime Codex entry is mentioning the first attempts at creating a Warframe, that as well.

    What about the Void?

    Spoiler

My theory on this is a fairly simple one, considering what we currently understand of the void.
The void is essentially a dimension that contains immense energy, and defies most standard laws of logic and physics.  This can be seen in a multitude of ways.  The new Moon Spy missions allow traveling through time and space.  It's possible that through this, we could even travel back in time and interact with characters in the story-line, but personally, I believe that DE will show some restraint in using the Void as the catch-all excuse to get away with weak plot-holes.
Another thing that is suggested through a few points of lore and game-play is that the Void somehow connects or possibly bombards the consciousness of individuals that have an affinity with it.  Vor, after being afflicted with void energy, suddenly becomes a wacko.  Is he just a nut-job, or has he possibly transcended his original level of intellect and consciousness?  Is it possible that The void, much like the Infestation, eventually inflicts a very Hive-mind-like state on its victims?  This could also be hinted in the Second Dream, where Margulis mentions voices.

    Quote

"This will stop the voices from taking hold. You will have to dream, my angel..."

What voices could possibly be "taking hold" of the Tenno?  Could the void even be something much like a dimension where the consciousness of the dead gather?  It would be comparable to Heaven at that rate.  A gathering of lost souls if you will.

Now with that segway rolling right in: Margulis and Natah.

    Spoiler

Margulis is clearly dead well before the events of the Great War.  Now, glancing back at the questions  about the Void, this is where my theory on these two starts moving into the picture.  What would it be like as a consciousness in the Void?  Would you be in a Limbo-like state (pun intended)?  Would it all be a haze?  Could you even possibly connect to the minds of others that are under the influence of Void energy?  It's no secret that Sentients are weak to the void.  Codex entries, including the Detron Crewman's entry, suggest that the void is like a "poison" to them.  But it could simply be that Sentients begin to notice the effects of the Void at an accelerated rate.  This could be something that happens to any and all living beings with a conscious.

This argument, while somewhat weak, could lead to the explanation of many events that we've seen so far.  Returning to the topic of the Void being a "gathering of souls".  Margulis was afflicted by Void energy, but survived her encounter with the Tenno.  Vor slowly poisoned himself with his Janus key, and was eventually killed by void energy as well.  Basically what I'm getting at, is that Margulis's conscious may still very well be or could've been alive, but trapped in the void.  The void may take on a role where it always reclaims what belongs to it in the end.
Natah, to come back to the Terminus and facilitate the betrayal of the Tenno, had to travel via Void Jump.  Doing this made her sterile, but what if it did even more than that?  What if even inhabiting the Void exposes your consciousness to those "souls" that are forever linked to the Void?  My theory is that while Natah was traveling to the Terminus, Margulis, or what may have been left of her consciousness, noticed Natah, and was able to see her intent of manipulating, and eventually ultimately killing the Tenno, by invading her mind.  With what energy Margulis may have had, she planted a seed inside of Natah's head.  It was the seed of herself.  Her desire to protect her "children."  It may even be possible that Margulis planted a portion of her own consciousness inside of Natah to protect the Tenno.

With this, Natah arrives in the Terminus, intending to manipulate the Tenno, but she then becomes torn by an unexplained maternal instinct or "desire" of motherhood.  Remember that Sentients are born with a goal.  The entirety of their existence is built around following through with their goal.  Do you think that an intelligence of this level would just inadvertently develop and interest in children, and betray its kind so readily?

The final events of the Great War and Natah's deception transpire, leaving the Tenno in Cryostasis on the Moon, and Warframes scattered across the Terminus.  And now here we are, playing Warframe.

TL:DR, because it was super long:  Margulis while in the Limbo of the Void after Death, plants seed in Natah's head, protecting the Tenno from her plan to kill them.  AKA Space-Ghost-Mom saves the day.

Super long post.  Feel free to talk, comment,  flame, or do whatever.  I'm just glad to type it for the hell of it.

Some have walked these desolate worlds while you have slept. Some like me. I remember what you did. I remember the day.

The Tenno appeared at the Terminus, gleaming and victorious. Our cold and gold Emperors, breathless, bathed you in savior's silk. Then came the sound. Across all our worlds, all at once, the ceremonial Naga drums. A royal salute to the honored Tenno. Ten solemn beats to declare the suffering was over. I watched from a distance, with the rest of the low Guardians. With each beat terror began to crush my throat. The Tenno were not stoic and silent. They were waiting. They were poised. I tried to call out but only a strangled whisper escaped.

When the ninth beat rang a torrent of blood filled the stadium, loosed by Tenno blades. The drums, the Empire, fell silent forever.

Now I hunt, dividing your numbers. Watching from that dark place, cataloging your sins, I am the ghost of retribution. You may forget but you are not innocent.

Nothing you've stated has really explained your belief of how the Tenno, the children, the OPERATORS are NOT in control of the Warframes.  The only parts of the lore that you've touched on are the parts that everybody already know, and do not touch on the topic of the relationship between the Operators and the Warframes.

Fairly certain that it was said multiple times that the Lotus manipulated the TENNO - not the Warframes.  Hell, the word Tenno is suggested to be a play on the name of the ship they were on during the Void Jump accident - The Zariman 10-0.

While DE hasn't directly explained things while holding our hands, it's almost undoubtedly likely that the Tenno are controlling the Warframes through the means of Transference, which was developed to allow the Tenno to make use of their powers that they obtained during the Void Jump accident.  The void power was too powerful and dangerous for the children to use directly, but it was believed that if they had a conduit(the Warframe), they could successfully use that power while being out of harm's way.  Transference was explained as a way to project one's "conscious" into a "puppet" that could be controlled.

Pretty much all content in the Codex that talks about the creation of Warframes suggests that they are some kind of culmination of the orokin's 3 most potent technologies, or at least 2.  Sentient and Infested technology, and possibly even Grineer Cloning seem make up the Warframes.

Now that we've taken that detour, we can start to talk about the possibility of the Warframe having a consciousness.

Anyways, that was well off the beaten path of this thread.

TL:DR, Warframes are probably controlled by the Operators through the form of Transference, and the Warframes are practically empty husks.  Infested Flesh in the Warframe allows it to have a consciousness that is overpowered by the Operator, but has some level of survival instinct, which is why it broke War.  It could've been to either protect the Operator, or remove what was hurting it.  Probably the latter though if its consciousness isn't very strong.  Your theory that the Warframes are their own entity and only need the Operator as a source of power has very little to stand on considering what has been divulged in the lore, gameplay, and storylines that we currently have access to.

  3. I like a fairly balanced build, with the intention of using all of his Abilities (no matter how pointless RJ becomes lategame)

    Excal BuildExcal_Build.jpg

I'm not a huge fan of Corrupted Mods unless they are for very specific builds (EV/Bless Trin, RJ Excal, etc).  Furious Javelin with this build gives pretty much the equivalent of Arcane Fury for 18 seconds.  As a note, I do have the Arcane Pendragon Helmet on.

Exalted Blade energy drain is affected by both duration and efficiency, for anybody who doesn't know.

    Broken War Build

    Broken_War_Excal.jpg

Rainbow build for EB.  When in doubt about a faction damage mod, just grab Fury instead.

.but i think that depends, does he hate us more or the sentients more?

And don't forget that the lotus looks like Margulis. Would he hate her more because she took on the face of someone dear to her or would he help her because thats what margulis would have wanted?

Well if my theory is correct, and don't take this very seriously on account of it's kinda pointlessly crazy to begin with, then he could definitely side with lotus if he is reintroduced to the storyline.  Besides - look at what we see now of the void.  The new void spy missions show that the void is certainly something which is not entirely logical, allowing for just about anything to happen.  *cough cough* time-space warping *cough cough*.

Skipping the nitty-gritty of my theory, Lotus might have a portion of Margulis's conscience inside of her, since she traveled through the void with the intention of manipulating the Tenno.  The Tenno afflicted Margulis with their void powers, but she lived, forever linking her with the void.  Margulis after dying enters the void in a limbo-like state.  Natah is noticed by Margulis while traveling to our system from Tao, but Margulis doesn't want her "children" to die.  With whatever amount of energy she has, she plants a seed in Natah's head to protect the Tenno from her schemes.

Pretty crazy sounding, so I don't put any chips on it.  But it would definitely be interesting.

At the same time, as a few have pointed out, Ballas does not regard the Tenno as "people", and even resents them.  He blames them for Margulis's death.  But the reality is that the threat posed by the Sentients, Infested, and Grineer is fairly real.  If he intends to survive (if he's still alive at all), then those threats need to be extinguished.  His best bet?  What he already knows and built with his own hands.  He's a crafty individual though, and he most definitely doesn't seem to be a person that would just "help" the Tenno.  If he plays a role and helps the Tenno in the future to eliminate these threats, I would suspect him to betray us along the way somehow.  Possibly something like provide frames with great boosts of power to combat our enemies, but when the time comes, those frames backfire and permanently sever our somatic link, leaving us vulnerable.

Typing that made me slightly concerned for the first time about what Umbra frames really are.........................................

  5. A lower MR should not restrict new players if new players are capable of taking on the challenge of higher-leveled content.  This point has been expressed by a large part of the player-base.  All this does is turn off a lot of new players.  what SHOULD happen, is higher level players should have benefits(naturally) for being higher level.  Even having a cap on syndicate earning that increases with MR is rather annoying and should be revised.  Cap Syndicate Earnings at 15k a day for everyone.  Keep the Focus Cap where it is.

I would suggest a small increase of EXP with each mastery level.  This bonus would affect Syndicate and Focus Earnings.  A base increase of 1% for every level would be more than enough to entice players to level.  This, coupled with *free* weapon and warframe slots along the way, would make players happily level up to MR21.  A total of 5 free Warframe slots and 10 free Weapon slots would be great.

Did you read my post fully? I don't see how it would fit the lore. There was a little spoiler so I tried to warn readers, but it hid a lot of my post.

Your lore isn't accurate at all.  In the Second Dream Questline, Alad V even admits to not knowing exactly what a Warframe is.  Valkyr is the result of an original warframe being pulled apart, probed, and experimented on by Corpus Scientists, which yes, are supposedly (hinted at by what Hunhow, not Stalker, said during the Second Dream Quest) the descendants of the Orokin.

Being an Orokin isn't a title.  Orokins were a race.  They were the oldest beings that we officially know of in this system, and they had intentions of expanding onward to new systems like Tao through the use of the Sentients to terraform them before the Orokin arrived on the Zariman Class Ships.  Most notably, the Zariman 10-0(Tenno), the ship where the Tenno were "born" during a Void Jump accident.

  7. Step 1:  Grab Excal

Step 2:  Grab Rainbow Elemental Crit Build Melee Melee Weapon (Corrosive/Blast is usually best)

    Step 3:  Press 4

    Step 4:  Let Sentients Spawn

    Step 5:  Press 2

Step 6:  Walk up to Blinded Sentient

Step 7:  Proceed to Melee Sentient with Exalted Blade

Step 8:  Hear Lotus say "They've adapted to your damage, hit them with something new."

    Step 9:  *EB Intensifies*

    Step 10: Watch Sentient die

    Step 11:????

Step 12: Pray for Vengeful Revenant

Step 13: If Step 12 Succeeds - Profit

In a slightly less-jokingly manner, Excal is a pretty solid counter.  His Exalted Blade damage is insanely high to begin with, and when directly meleeing targets with it, you have your 3 base damage types equally dishing out damage, along with your two Combo Elements if you build a Rainbow build on your melee weapon, all the while waves are continuing to do 80% Slash damage, coupled yet again with your Rainbow Elements.

The big thing with Excal isn't the damage though, as much as it is getting the Blind out before the Sentients get to start butt-touching you all across the map.

Naturally I'm expecting a wave of "EB is for braindead nubs" comments.  Let them come.  At the very least, EB can be somewhat fun, instead of the dreadfully boring Radial Javelin, Peacemaker, Irradiating Disarm, Miasma, Shield Polarize, and any other "Hit 1 button and things either go *poof* or become baby food" Spammage that has made up most team comps in Warframe since their inception.

  8. I don't think endurance modes are supposed to get easier the farther you get

Most endurance games give the players more gear as you go as a method of countering enemy scaling (both stats and numerically).  e.g. Treyarch's Call of Duty Zombies, and Infinity Ward's counterpart.

I would like the idea best if it were something along the lines of a Crossfire.  In fact, it could use the Invasion Tileset and include all 3 base Factions fighting one another.  Give the players incentive to kill as many enemies as possible (Quotas that increase team rewards per "wave"), and you've got yourself a good endurance game mode that I would happily play.

Hell, go the extra mile and make the mission much like the Hunter Escape mission when you're captured by the Zanuka Harvester.  Our weapons could be locked in Spy Vaults or new Weapon Vaults across the map that show up as objectives at specified intervals.  This would require a mixture of Grineer AND Corpus Vault clearing.

  9. 1.  Are there any intentions to rework the "Buffing" Process for frames that have a buff augment?  Currently, buffing with mods like Freeze Force on Frost is somewhat tedious and at times can be aggravating if your teammate is on the move.

As a tiny note, my idea would be something comparable to The Witcher 3's alternate cast for the Igni Sign, found here:

    https://youtu.be/YjPC7gYrmkw?t=1m

In The Witcher 3, you cast Alternate signs by holding down on the sign casting button.  This method seems like it would be applicable to abilities like Freeze, Fireball, Spores, and Shock, not only as methods to allow for easier buffing, but even giving the abilities more flexibility in combat - rewarding the player with higher status chance, at the cost of energy drain and a huge range loss.  This could be balanced even further by locking down the player's mobility while casting, in a similar fashion to Chroma's Spectral Scream.

    2.  Are there any intentions to revisit Finisher attacks?  The current Finisher process, as noted for a while now, is somewhat slow and clunky.  It severely inhibits stealth gameplay as enemies will detect you while you are caught in a finisher animation.  Are there any intentions to make the process more fluid, and possibly even implement a "Chaining" system that allows players to quickly dispatch small groups of enemies without being detected?

  10. Sentients were orokin's creation to colonize the Tau System. But in the process, the sentients could have developed some kind of a conscious, able to think and feel... they started to understand that the Orokin were a f*** bastard society and sent them to a very very long system to start a new Orokin empire. We all know what happens after.

I believe the Zariman ship was an objective to send people to start a life in the Tau System, terraformed by the Sentients.

Sounds like the Orokin had a notable interest in leaving behind a perfectly inhabitable system.  What if they intended to leave because of the arrival of something else in the future?

  11. It's not about wanting short missions, it's about wanting fun missions. 15 waves of button mashing isn't very fun, neither is dealing with a lobby with jacked up derptacos triggering alarms harder than a frickin feminazi.

0 to 100 real quick there bud.

But yes, in all seriousness:  Warframe will always be cheesed.  The game's roots were planted in this concept of "Mitigation" rather than the ability to withstand and overcome a challenge.  Nearly every warframe has an ability built in that does this.  It's something that will likely never go away, sadly. These mission-type overhauls need to come faster.  Spy and Rescue(Spy more-so) really hit the nail on the head for creating a challenge that requires the player to be fully engaged and alert, rather than spamming an ability.  Can some vaults be cheesed?  Yeah, but most newer vaults require a decent amount of activity to do it well - not just hit 2 on Loki and win.  Defenses and Survivals really need to be pushed into a realm, like Spy and Rescue, that requires a diverse skill-set with engagement to be done efficiently.

Short of the long,  Defense/Survival/Interception is a drag in sorties.  I would rather them be shortened, and in return, throw harder enemies at us for that shorter duration(that is if they really need to stay).

  12. Got bored with a lack of friends being able to get online with the current issue that the launcher is having.  I decided that I was tired of looking at this low-res icon on my desktop for Warframe, and went to work.  I have both the steam version and the stand-alone game on my desktop, so I took the liberty of pumping out high-res dark and light versions, the base of which being bokuwaten's alternative icon found here:

    https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/183402-default-icon/

Unfortunately for me, this base icon when scaled down suffers from hard pixelation, so the main adjustment I made was mostly a blend/blur to prevent that for higher-ppi displays on Windows 10(like mine, running 3440x1440 here).  So yes, as a note, when blown up, they do look really blurry.  But when scaled down to icon size, they turn out quite nice on my display in particular.  Use at your own discretion I suppose.

Simply drop these PNGs into a browser-based ICO converter like this one:

For the uninformed, changing icons is a fairly simple process, but can take some poking around.  Here is a tutorial if you feel that you need guidance doing so: http://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-change-icon-shortcut

  13. The Dual Decurion doesn't necessarily need to be capable of long range engagements.  in fact, it needs to become a weapon that is much more lethal at close range.  The recoil enforces that to a degree.

The Velocitus' projectile is fast enough already.  Sniping with projectile speed makes the weapon a fun challenge that cures the boredom of sitting there twiddling your thumbs on Erpo and Caelus.  The problem is that it ends up being compared to weapons that are hitscan.  Comparing a projectile that has travel time to a projectile that essentially teleports to the target - kind of obvious where that goes.  The Velocitus is in major need of a high-quality scope.  We need as much information as possible to make the experience feel somewhat "high-tech" and realistic, IE Range meter, Mil-marks to make leading easier, and possibly after holding the scope on a target for a period of time, a basic lead indicator (only accurate on a target traveling at a constant speed) that appears.  I also believe that the Velocitus either needs a Crit Chance buff to make it nearly 100% crit, or the Crit Chance should just be knocked down to nothing, but buff the base damage to reflect the loss.  I'm not a fan of flipping a coin for doing enough damage to sometimes kill an Ogma or not at higher levels.  I want my sniper doing optimal damage at all times, as long as a land a consistent shot to center-mass.  Similar issues I have with multi-shot on Velocitus concern me, making me feel that Dual Rounds is not a viable mod for it.

Imperator is currently the "Go-To" archwing weapon, and for blatantly obvious reasons.  Its damage output is good, and its damage fall-off is negligible in most situations save for grineer archwing intercepts.  Its high rate of fire, combined with its crit and status chance (when built to capitalize on those points, which will probably happen, since archwing mods are few and far between) make this a great weapon.  Wrap that all up and put a bow on top called "Starter Weapon" and "Hitscan", and people will more than likely stick with it for just about everything that they ever have to do.

Imperator SHOULD be a run-of-the-mill weapon that covers all bases fairly well, while not necessarily excelling at any.  The Accuracy needs a nerf, but the damage fall-off that becomes very aggressive beyond what feels like 600m needs to be reduced.  Think something along the lines of the current shotgun change.  I honestly think that this weapon needs a projectile speed rather than to be hitscan.  That alone would make the Velocitus stand out over the Imperator when engaging enemies in Grineer Interceptions.

Fluctus is a fun weapon that really stands out in situations where you have a number of enemies travelling long distances.  It's a very common pick on Caelus if you can round up the enemies and get them to chase.  Maybe reducing fire-rate and increasing the wave speed a small amount?  This weapon feels like a weapon that really has its benefits, but also problems, which is why I think it's a great example of giving a weapon "character."

Grattler.  Dear god the Grattler.  This thing looks like a monster of an AA gun.  I couldn't help but think of the 20mm Oerlikons when I grabbed this weapon out of my foundry.  To my dismay, it delivered nothing of the sort.  The total range is lacking to the point of making this weapon really just feel unviable.  These rounds already have a fight-speed, making it very difficult to hit targets towards its maximum range.  Why not allow this weapon to barrage an Intercept point?  All it takes is making a projectile that travels indefinitely with a proximity detection for round detonation.  Make this thing feel like it got ripped off of a WW2 US Destroyer and turned into an Archwing weapon.

I agree with the points on the Melee weapons.  They all feel the same.  Centaur definitely does more damage, but in terms of feel, there isn't a difference.

  14. It's probably been said enough, but really, taking away syndicate mods from EB is a bad decision.  Yes, it is true that players gravitated towards weapons like Prisma Skana, Dual Cleavers, and the like.  But just take a step back to consider what this ultimately means in the long-run.  You're changing the Excalibur Meta by making these weapons less viable, both for EB and the weapons themselves, rather than making other weapons more viable.

By making these mods obselete, you are taking away a potential damage increase from the used mod slot by these mods.  If the weapons themselves without EB are to be viable, they generally need these mods.  Without these mods, those weapons won't be carried to end-game content.  What you're ultimately doing is simply shrinking the pool of weapons that excalibur can bring, rather than increasing it.

Anybody who tries to cover all his bases will see that to increase your damage with EB, you want True Steel, Berserker, and Fury.  This means that just like the weapons mentioned above, the player will gravitate towards weapons with considerable crit chance, so that the weapon AND Exalted Blade will benefit together, rather than one over the other.  That will be lost by taking these syndicate mods away from EB, meaning players will move along to Scindo Prime, Dakra Prime, Galatine, Gram(most won't, but I would, since this thing was my cherry melee), Dragon Nikana, Yada yada yada, which were already entirely viable without the syndicate mods for EB.  All that will happen here with the removal of these mods is that you will obliterate the top-tier weapon selection for Excalibur, leaving him with a larger weapon pool in comparison, but ultimately shrinking the amount of weapons that are truly viable for Excalibur while also being viable for end-game.  At the same time, it's really just a general EB nerf.

Personally, I liked to look of how both Excalibur and Frost have been changed.  They've been given kits that help them scale further into the game without entirely mitigating enemy scaling.  Isn't that the problem that people complain about in warframe?  The problem where teams gravitate towards damage mitigation through the casting of simple abilities and removal of interaction (IE Loki Disarm, Limbo, Mesa, Old Excal)?

Covert Lethality was definitely OP.  It should NOT work in tandem with EB.  In my honest opinion, the fix for daggers should not have come in the form of a mod that doesn't actually solve their problems.  It made daggers viable, but for all of the wrong reasons.  There should never be a mod that simply bypasses any form of scaling or armor/health/shields.

My 2 cents for a potential fix should come in the form of a very large damage multipler, specific to finisher attacks listed on Stance mods.  People are obviously upset over the change to finisher attacks for the mod, but a big portion of the concern is because of how clunky and time-consuming finisher attacks are.  Isn't that a clear indication that finishers need an overhaul?  There needs to be some kind of method that allows for quick finishers, that could even potentially include multiple targets within a small area that could be affected by both attack speed and range mods.  Finishers like this should also be able to be performed by players that are capable of repositioning themselves without being noticed, invisible or not, to enemies that are engaging others, or are on the move.  This would require a big overhaul to the enemy detection and identification system, which already needs to happen in the first place.

For the people thinking that you should be able to go loki or ash and spin-attack/ground slam for years with bodies dropping left and right, just stop a second and ask if it's even remotely logical that such a small weapon cutting you at your shins, or even just smacking the ground next to you, should be able to instantly kill you.  It makes so much more sense that an accurate, well-timed attack to a critical portion of the body would be enough to kill an individual near-instantaneously.

Daggers should be the go-to weapon for stealth gameplay, with the intention of killing enemies that that are unalerted to YOUR presence, not necessarily always the entirety of the team.  Spamming a dagger shouldn't 1-hit KO 100 enemies in a T4 survival.  Thinking about how to approach your attack on a small group of targets should reward the player.

  15. Well for starters look at what you said you typed.

If you can explain to me as to why what I said is potentially a threat, demeaning, discriminatory, sexist, etc. etc. in any way other than the fact that I am potentially threatening MYSELF rather than others, then I would gladly accept that point.  The only things that to me makes any sense is that what I said could be viewed as openly negative, and as such, could potentially affect others in spurring negativity; Or just the fact that it touches on the subject of suicide, which is a potentially touchy subject (but you know, what isn't a touchy subject when the emotions of human beings get involved?)

But no, it's ok that region chat is spammed to death with U17 OR RIOT and HYPETRAIN posts for over 50% of its content.

Depends on exactly what you said...and how you dramatically paused. It could've also been a herp derp.

What i typed in quotes was exactly what I remember typing.

IIRC, the first two posts were this:

    1. This was in reply to a person saying "U17 is kill."  A purple-text then replied in region chat "......U17 is not kill......"  I typed:

    U17 is kill.........no...

    2. People were discussing Windows 10 in Region chat, saying that people should get it because of the performance boost.  I replied:

Here's a computer that I would install Windows 10 on, IF MICROSOFT NOTIFIED ME IT WAS READY!

    3.  To make this easier for everybody to read, i'll simply copy-pasta the third line from the original post here:

Well then I might as well go and take my own life.

Those are my posts.  I can most certainly understand that Kickbot could pick up on the first 2, but that last one seems like it would've had to have been by a person, but they were ALL automatic.  These times are my first offense in Region chat, so I'm not entirely sure how kickbot works there, but the ONE time that I posted a trade advertisement by mistake in recruiting,  I instantly received a message from kickbot, stating "You have been suspended from the Recruiting channel.  Please use Trade chat next time."

Maybe it isn't the case, but I would think that if a system is in place in one type of chat to respond to a player that breaks a code of conduct, and then respond to said player, telling them what they did was wrong, I would typically expect a system that resembles that in all chats.

  16. So I was taking part in the insanity in Region Chat regarding U17 about an hour ago at this point.  On 2 separate occasions in region chat, I typed comments in reply to other people in chat, and then suddenly the chat stopped scrolling.  Both times, nothing in these comments could be potentially perceived as harassment or anything even potentially hateful.  These comments did however in the case of the first one, consist of quite a few "periods" to create space to drive a dramatic pause, and in the case of the second, had a section of the text that was in all caps, but was not entirely all caps.

Nobody was posting, but everybody was there.  There was no message in my chat window from Kickbot, So i assumed that on both occasions, there was some kind of issue with the chat server.

I logged out and logged back in, to see chat back up and running.  I continued talking for a while, and then a player made a false quote, stating something along the lines of "The team is tired, and after a good rest, we'll be back on U17 tomorrow!"

My response to this was "Well then I might as well go and take my own life."

Chat stopped once more with no response from any DE-labelled bots or individuals after minutes of waiting, so I chose to log once more.

I came back to find messages stating "Your access to this channel has been suspended" in my Region, Recruiting, and Trading Chat windows.

Does this happen on a regular basis?  Is banning an individual without any form of explanation as to why, nor any form of warning, common practice in online chat?  These are legitimate questions, not rhetorical ones, so please feel free to comment; and I would like to see if others have had differing experiences as well.

  17. I don't really get why people enjoyed this level of coptering.  I mean yeah, it's fun to do at times.  But what parkour 2.0 will provide is slowing parkour down to the point where you can actually use your brain WHILE doing it, and still traverse the map in a speedy manner that makes sense.  Tell me, is every move you make your intention and under your control in the situation of coptering?  Most people will answer no.  That's the idea.  You move across the map, and you use your brain both before AND while moving, rather than planning it, spamming keys, and hoping the result is what you want.  That is what parkour 2.0 is ultimately bringing to the table.

  18. I just checked on the main site:

    https://warframe.com/

Check the bottom right, in the update listing.

The PC build looks like it's halfway done, while the others seem to be a 3rd of the way done.

As CoRRh said, that bar doesn't reflect anything other than the fact that it is currently still being worked on.  That bar has been in the exact same place for the last 24 hours.  Still hoping for a mid-day release, but one can never know.

The progress of the bar is not actually representative of the progression of the update.
