  1. Doesn't a roll help? Like I know rolls will prevent you from being knocked off your feet against Heavy Grineer slams... and it works against Shield Grineer bashes... I can't recall if I've ever done a roll against a Scorpion, but I imagine that would work.

When a Scorpion's about to hook you (and if you play Warframe enough you will become so used to exactly when and where a Scorpion will launch a hook), try doing a roll - either you'll dodge it or you won't be knocked off your feet.

  2. When you remove all armor, the enemy no longer has armor, so it no longer is effected by damage multipliers against that armor.

For example, a Heavy Gunner would take +50% damage from Puncture (and that damage would ignore 50% of her armor). But when you remove the armor with 4x CP, they no longer get the +50% damage. Slash, on the other hand, has +6.25% damage against armor, but is mitigated by 115% of the armor value... but when you remove the armor, you end up with just +25% damage.

Would you mind linking me to a source of this info? I've looked at the Wiki pages for Puncture and Slash, I can't find anything about the +6.25% dmg against armor & mitigated 115% armor thing.

EDIT: oh wait, was that just a completely hypothetical example - nevermind, thanks.

  3. I've kinda been confused about something that's been bugging me, the Wiki doesn't answer it and anyone that's mentioned this hasn't really elaborated.

Some people have said Slash is better than Puncture in end game, especially if you can make all enemy armor 0% (four times Corrosive Projection). That, by getting rid of enemy armor, you lose the need of Puncture's supposed armor-piercing damage type.

What confuses me, is I thought Puncture is just another element, just like Slash, and Heat, and Corrosive, and etc. Every element has its pros and cons versus different enemies because enemies have different armor types.

Slash does more damage to fleshy types because they have the 'fleshy' armor type (whatever that's called, I don't have the armor names memorized), and Puncture does more damage to armored enemies because they have the 'armored' armor type (again, I don't know the names off the top of my head). And these armor types are completely independent of a target's armor value right? Like, Valkyr's 600 armor has nothing to do with the fact Warframes have "Alloy Armor" type?

According to the Wiki, all the different elements just have different damage multipliers tagged onto them versus different armor types.

But the people who've said Slash is better than Puncture in end game is because if you can use Corrosive Projection to remove all enemy armor, Puncture becomes useless. That concept is completely independent from my current understanding that different elements just have different damage multipliers to different enemy/armor types, because I believe you should still do a lot of useful damage to a target that's vulnerable to Puncture, whether or not it has 100% of its armor value or 0% of its armor value.

The Armor stat, i.e. the one that has a magnitude number to it has nothing to do with the Armor Type correct?

TL;DR: does Puncture have innate armor ignore? I thought it was just an element just like any other element.

  4. I definitely really like Limbo for his strengths... He's not the kind of Warframe I would choose as my main and default to him for every mission... But when I do use him, he really shines in the situations he was meant to shine in.

Sure I can say he's situational and then you could say every Warframe is situational... But some Warframes' niches are more specific than others - Limbo being one of them.

For example, I like Limbo as an alternative to Valkyr as a team reviver while still being able to use guns.

    ---

But I would definitely like to see Limbo's abilities get improved or maybe become more versatile...

Rather than just banishing 5 targets individually, maybe depending on how you hit the #1 key, it would be either a quick single cast, or a channeled nonstop beam of Banish. I think Rift Walk should be changed to have no animation; it wouldn't really make him OP, it would just make Limbo (who is such a spell spamming Warfame) feel a little more fluid. Personally I want to see Rift Surge added as a base effect into the Rift Plane itself and have him be given a new ability... because if you have enough Energy, you're going to keep Rift Surge up 100% of the time anyways, and now u'r just casting more silly hand motions that make Limbo less fluid. I think maybe Cataclysm should be given some sort of mechanic to customize its size... Maybe after hitting 4, you can stretch out the size of the Ult using your aimer? And the Ult would no longer shrink in size. Ofc adjustments and balance is needed but these are just my ideas.

  5. Futuristic, parkouring, superpowered, space ninjas.

I guess another specific favorite is I really like seeing new Warframes come out. Because this game is all futuristic (compared to being medieval fantasy, etc), I like seeing the new themes of new Warframes. A lot of the themes are easily comparable to class archetypes in (mmo)rpgs that are typically medieval fantasy.

In other words, I like to look at Warframes like Ember, Volt, Frost, and Saryn as a futuristic ninja reimagining of a medieval mmorpg mage.

Like... take my pyromancer from who knows what game... Give her guns, a futuristic suit, and parkour... and you have Ember :)

  6. Do you constantly play with like... all rank 30 equipment?

I've never been able to confirm this (I guess part of the reason is I haven't actually gone looking this up), but I think the Stalker is way more likely to come after you when you have low ranking equipment.

A teammate confirmed to me this is true, but then again it's only 1 other person, so I'm not sure. But it definitely feels like the Stalker comes after me only when I'm weak, equipment-wise.

  7. Alright... so you're making an announcement for how you like to run your private missions... on the forums? Shouldn't this be in your Recruiting message?

No one in the forums is going to memorize you and see you in Recruiting in-game and be like "okay, I remember that specific guy I totally memorized in the forums, now I know what's expected of me if I play with this one specific guy."

Neither will this announcement reach enough people to somehow revolutionize the entire Warframe gaming community into compliant non-complainers.

Also you just said 9/10 times your random is chill. And you said there's always that one guy, 1/10 times, that complains. You're making a forum PSA, for your specific group, for your specific private missions, for the 10% of randoms that you don't like for what they type into the chat box?

  8. What? OP wants this game to not be about standing stationary spamming single keyboard keys? Preposterous.

I want to stand in one spot, playing a game so complex and challenging and strategic I need to hit one key the whole time to win the whole game mode. So strategy. Much pro. Very skills.

Don't worry guys, I'm working on a montage video of my pro skills with Gmag, hitting the [1] keyboard key. 420 blaze it 360 no scope... 420 no scope 360 blaze it... Guinness World Records will be all up on me about my Greedy Pull skills.

Ninjas in space? No, I want to be an automated turret.

Parkour? No, I want to be a couch potato.

Engaging gameplay of technique, skill, and teamwork? No, hear my button mashing skills of one keyboard key.

In Update 17, I hope they release new features in the Gameplay Options menu allowing for auto-walk, auto-attack, auto-pick-up-items, auto-play-game-for-me.

When you show your friends who don't know Warframe some gameplay, make sure to show them the thrilling edge-of-your-seat excitement of Gmag + Mesa + Nekros.

  9. Excalibur because he was the first one I tried and he's so basic and well rounded I'm used to it

Braton Prime because hit scan, decent damage, no accuracy problems

Sicarus Prime because that's the best secondary I have available

Kogake because knockdowns, but I may switch weapons since everyone's using Handspring now

My playstyle usually revolves around zero energy gameplay, I don't rely on racing for all the energy spawns and blowing everyone up, just moving around very well with basic parkour and good accuracy with the Braton prime and knocking people down with the Kogakes when they get close is all I need to perform well.

Do Xb1 people have Conclave 2.0 already? 2.0 is what I'm basing my preferences on.

  10. As for me I'm only sort of complaining that the Karak Wraith is just mastery fodder... Mostly complaining that we got the Karak instead of the Dera

Karak Wraith: mastery fodder, boring assault rifle

Dera Vandal: mastery fodder, not like any other gun aesthetically that I already own, cooler than a boring assault rifle

  11. I don't like Banshee because

    - I don't like her Sonic Boom, Pull reaches farther and it doesn't matter to me if the enemies are closer to me because of Pull versus pushing them away with Sonic Boom, CC is CC

    - I don't care for the radar effects of Sonar, and I have to go waaaaaaaay waaaaaaay deep into some sort of survival or defense to actually take advantage of the ~7x damage boost

    - Silence apart from stealth is just a large radial blind without the blinding and has a cooldown defined by the duration of Silence itself, I can find better CC than that

    - Quake I never look at for damage so if anything it's just a huge channeled CC, I don't like kneeling on the ground kissing dirt all day just to make enemies around me dance... I'd rather just take out a Loki or Nyx

Sometimes I play her just cuz I feel like playing her, but I don't like her premise in general which leads to me playing her even less... Ember isn't a 'top notch' frame either but I like fire so I play Ember a lot.

  12. Guess I'm gonna have to spend a Forma to craft the Dera now or wait for another event...

Gosh not another boring bullet-based machine gun/assault rifle.

I can't imagine a situation where I'd be like, yup Karak better than Soma Prime, Boltor Prime, or maybe even Braton Prime for this situation.

Sure you could easily say that for Dera as well, but I wanted the Dera because compared to the Karak it would be more unlike any other weapon I already have. Wanted the pew pew pew lasers :(

  13. I think the Devs mentioned in a Devstream (forgot which one, but it was a recent one) where in response to the Excal Radial Javelin LOS nerf, that they're not done looking at other Warframe's Ultimates for similar changes. Whether that means just adding LOS requirements on a bunch of Ultimates or nerfing them in individual ways, for the most part, I'm okay with it.

It's sad when you can close your eyes, rest your head on your desk, and still get Affinity and Reputation in the fastest most efficient way because you just need to hold down Left Click or press one keyboard key. . . in a game with NINJAS, WALL RUNNING, and MELEE COMBOS.

  14. I'm trying to imagine what Warframe would be like after ~2 months if people got what they wanted... Powerful Primed Mods and new remixed weapons every Trader cycle.

    Primed Streamline

    Primed Stretch

    Primed Intensify

    Primed Serration
    Primed Split Chamber

    Primed Hellfire

    Primed Stormbringer

    Primed Infected Clip

    Primed Cryo Rounds

Mara Prisma Prime Boltor Prime Vandal Wraith Prime

Mara Prisma Prime Vaykor Prime Marelok Prime Vandal Wraith Prime

    and Dragon Galatine (Prime)

80 minute survival becomes the new 20 minute.

Each Trader item will be ~300-500 ducats and 300k+ credits, so people will complain it's too much and people will grind the void endlessly for 2 weeks which is what DE said they wanted to prevent.

And people will rage that they missed out on new items because they just gotta catch 'em all, and then people will demand repeats.

  15. Everything is wrong with those kinds of combos. In the intense heat of a battle, Its quite irritating when you have to focus on button mashing times instead why not just implement a better mechanism. Combos that doesn't use just 1 key.

I'm a big fan of games like DMC, Bayonetta, etc... hack n slashes in general... I don't know what it's like to come from a non-hack n' slash gamer background. But I don't find any combo a problem, even if I'm 40+ minutes into survival and I have Fury and full Berserker stacks.

But the combos and how they're inputted (especially the pause combos) come from Hack n' Slash games. So, the problems and challenge of those games will be here in Warframe in those same combos, including being unable to do non-default combos in an intense situation.

Actually the only problem I have is the Glaive's been designed to throw the Glaive after holding down the melee key... But if you get your attack speed way ramped up, simply holding down the melee button isn't enough and you have to tap melee once and then hold down the button to get the Glaive to launch - I guess this shows what happens when you try to mix the old Charge system with Melee 2.0.

  16. Why don't we add a hefty damage resistance, and make it so his attack speed and damage increases with damage influx!

    Also DE please:

    NO PAUSE COMBOS!

    PLEASE! OR BACK COMBOS!

    PLEASE!

When I see these two dreaded types.....

    I crie everi tiem ;_;

What's wrong with pause or back combos? they're not hard to pull off, and I prefer back arrow combos over forward arrow combos because it's annoying to do the default combo vs the forward combo while charging 'foward' into the enemy... an easy workaround is to just hold the right click button while meleeing... if the weapon doesn't have a right click combo.

What I really do want though is for Excalibur's new Ultimate stance to not have as rigid animations as Valkyr's Hysteria. Because Hysteria has this rigidity to it you can't turn your Warframe very easily while doing non-default combos with Hysteria (and any other weapon stance in the game allows you to turn normally). The only workaround for Hysteria is to turn on the option of autoaiming which I don't like.

  17. I'm fine with the Trader not bringing anything pushing power creep.

I don't want my Soma Prime, 4 months from now. To have: Primed Serration, Primed Split Chamber, Primed Point Strike, Primed Vital Sense, and Primed Heavy Caliber... Did I mention Primed Prime Serration? A mod that goes up to rank 15, takes 5000 Rare 5 Fusion Cores to max out, and instead of being Gold or White, twinkles rainbow colors?

  18. My Warframe profile says:

    Warframe: Zephyr (11%)

    Weapon: Soma

But my favorites and what I use now most of the time are:

Warframe: Ember Prime (~10% usage, close to Zephyr)

    Primary: Soma Prime

    Secondary: Hikou Prime

    Melee: Bo Prime

    Difficulty: 2

Back when I only had non-Prime Ember I probably would've said 4 or 5 because of the learning curve of dealing with glass cannon Ember (started playing Warframe after Overheat was removed), but I love fire so I kept playing Ember. Now I've become so used to Ember, combined with her armor/stamina buffs, any level content is easy to pull off.

... unless I get hit by magnetic and lose all my energy, because I depend ALOT on energy as Ember. Dealing with Nullifiers is also a pain because I can't stun them with Accelerant and have to not just stand out in the open to get shot at by their Lankas, especially high level Nullifiers that will 1 shot you.

  19. I have never knowingly taxi'ed.

When I host Cerberus, or Draco, or the Uranus rep grind map whatever that's called... Idk if the people I invite if they unlocked the map themselves.

I don't waste my time taxiing and the only thing that really irks me is when I see mercury taxis... LIKE HOLY MOLY that's one of the starter planets!
