  1. DE's goal has always been to make gameplay more "fluid" and intuitive-- it's why Parkour 2.0 was introduced, to straighten out the fluidity of movement.  Its why Melee 3.0 has been introduced, to increase the fluidity of melee combat.  This 'feature' completely contradicts everything that they've said they wish to attain, because it adds a literal random chance element to something that- initially- did not have one, and to something that does not NEED one.

As far as I'm concerned, this is gamebreaking.  I- and many others- are not going to resort to macros just to avoid this issue; if DE is going to have to make us resort to macros- something technically against their TOS- just to circumnavigate a poorly implemented feature, that's an extremely poor decision and choice of development on DE's part.

  2. I made a similar thread at here:

.. and it seems, thus far, DE has not taken notice(despite it being one of the most complained about wide-spread issue since that one hotfix that reintroduced this 'feature').  A simple workaround that I found is using Sword n' Board melee, such as the Silva & Aegis Prime.  It's unfortunate, but this is what we have to do if we want to be able to use melee without wanting to tear our collective hair out.

  3. I shouldn't have to completely change my buttonset to circumnavigate a poorly-integrated ''feature'' that feels like a bug, that was apparently re-introduced when 'people wanted it back'.  With the last system, I never had issue with my attack button causing heavy attacks.  Now?  They happen nigh-instantaneously, seemingly dependent on both FPS and attack speed.

We have these two binds for a reason.  Why re-introduce automatic heavy attacks if it removes the purpose of its own hotkey?  It needs a toggle to avoid this confusion.  Some may say I'm overreacting, but Warframe is- quite literally- unplayable for me right now.  The fact that I need to block-cancel just to avoid wasting my combo stacks, which causes its own set of issues, is infuriating.  I don't want locked into a permanent state of gap closers.  Just now, I exited my game, because I was on a Lvl 5 Kuva Lich Capture Mission where I block-canceled to melee attack the target.  What happened?  I got catapulted into an out of bounds gap, and when I re-spawned on valid ground, I instantly got one-shot by a Bombard because my damage reduction ability was removed(since I fell out of bounds).

I respect that this change was re-introduced for the people who wanted it back.. but it either needs fixed, or those of us who do not want this system, should have our needs/wants respected as well, and have a toggle introduced.

I have never had this happen at all since the new system was introduced.

Heavy attacks are bound to a completely separate key, so if you're doing it automatically then... I dunno, but sounds like you're hitting the wrong key

No, I can just see by forum posts that other people are having this issue.  In one of the recent hotfixes, DE make it so that holding your attack key(like Pre-Melee 3.0 Phase 2) will cause a heavy attack to be performed(without use of the specially-designated heavy attack key).

I feel the issue, personally, is due in part with the fact that I have a lower-end PC.  When your FPS drops, that can cause inputs to lag on and be prolonged, which I feel is why that I- personally- have such a problem with automatic heavy attacks being executed, and in such random frequency.  This is especially solidified by the fact that the holding of your attack key to execute a heavy attack is extremely touchy.

  5. Just as I mentioned in the title, I believe that automatic heavy attacks upon a standard attack's press needs removed, or changed to a toggle.

I very well could be in the wrong about this, but.. here is my experience as follows:  I started up the game after this update first launched.  I had a blast with the new system, with combos being streamlined to only a couple presses of buttons, all of which were easily accessible to my fingers and easily quantifiable in my brain.  This, coupled with just a single button to execute a heavy attack, felt like a good change-- I had my heavy attack button out of the way, since I personally like to build up my combo counter and only execute heavy attacks on large targets, or a very large group of enemies.

Fast forward to today, when I booted up the game.  I began playing.. pressing E to execute my attacks and-- I performed a heavy attack, seemingly without holding it.  I tested and figured out, "Oh, if I hold E it'll do a heavy attack again.  Alright." so I just figured it was easy as not holding E.  Wrong.  As it turns out, heavy attacks- somehow- appear to execute automatically and randomly, completely mitigating the combo counter that I spend time to bring up.  Playing with melee was frustrating and like Russian roulette, because it appears that automatic heavy attacks are completely random.  I'd have a bout where I'd have zero automatic heavy attacks.  Then, my next string of attacks, are nothing but automatic heavy attacks.

"Why don't you just block-cancel it so the heavy attacks don't happen automatically?"  Some may suggest to me, and here's what it is.. I tried.  It does indeed work- it doesn't do automatic heavy attacks.  The issue with this?  Simply holding block and hitting your melee button- without a forward input- is very ineffective and often slow in such a fast-paced game.  The moment you add a forward input?  It turns into a distance closing attack.  While it's a moderately exclusive issue-- I don't have the best PC.  I can average standard Warframe gameplay between 15-45FPS, depending on the action, and this works for me.  However, when I am forced to block cancel every single attack just to avoid an automatic heavy attack, and moving while executing a block cancel attack pingpongs me all over the place?  It's demoralizing, frustrating, and somewhat nausea-inducing.

If this change could be reverted, or have a toggle added to it, it would take the 'random chance' that seems to persist with these automatic heavy attacks.  It is very off-putting to me when I can't use melee, without spending my hard-earned combo counter prematurely, or without sending myself flying across the battlefield, completely missing droves of enemies.  I'm sure that others experience this same issue, and it's something I'd appreciate if changed.  Thanks for reading.

TL;DR -- Automatic heavy attacks are frustrating because of their seemingly unpredictable execution, and that the way around them is either an inefficient or nauseating endeavour.

  6. I'm not sure for the rest of you, but as for @s3pultur3ro, one thing I can say for almost-certain is that DE auto-flags any account that has a different IP signature than original.  Their systems use this as a precaution for if you 'sold' your account, or are account-sharing with people(which I believe is against the EULA.)

  7. One of the issues I've found is this:

On all species I've used sleep on, I've only experienced this issue on Plains animals(so far).  Essentially, the issue I see with Condrocs, is that the 'sleep' from frames like Equinox or Ivara causes their animation cycle to cut short, effectively immediately sleeping, instead of going through the animations(like Sawgaws do).  This strange rushing/skipping of the animation causes them to clip into the ground, and teleport beneath the floor.  At least, that's what I believe is the cause, but it's the only thing I've witnessed that sets them apart.

  8. ((Since this is such an oddball issue, I've tagged this with 'Performance', for lack of better term.))

As I'm sure most of us have been, I've recently been enjoying conservation on the Plains -- it's rather easy, doesn't really limit us to looking at the ground while we track hardly visible footsteps, and overall.. just relaxing!

    Except when this happens.

A bug that I've recently encountered is: animals(predominantly Condrocs, I've noticed) on geometry that isn't perfectly level will fall through the floor, to the 'sub floor' beneath the main painted terrain.  When the duration of the Tranq/Sleep is up, the animal will either teleport to its prior above-surface location, or it will spontaneously die.  It is less common when the Tranq Rifle is used, but I've noticed it to occur predominantly when using Ivara's Sleep Arrow.  I've not tested other warframes with similar sleep abilities, such as Equinox, but I'm certain the bug still applies.

    ((IMPORTANT EDIT))

On the problem of "not being able to get to the animals you've taken the time to painstakingly subdue", I'm sure one that almost everyone has encountered has been the 'floating animal' issue.  Essentially, it happens(observably) only to the types of animals that are capable of flight.  They go through the animation of being subdued, but proceed to fall only a few feet, and then hover in the air.

  9. Earth is a grineer-occupation planet.  It makes sense, because they can fly under their radar without triggering their orbital 'alarms'.  A ship going in and out that isn't of tenno origin probably can't easily slip past their scanners, and thus, a base in the heart of the forest is safer than risking taking to the stars.

I hear you man, and I sympathise. Please try to enjoy the game as much as possible and maybe this post will get some noise and something can be done back end to help your problem.

Yeah man, of course.  I'm nearing 2300 logged hours for this game -- I ain't giving up my roots.

@UnknownShifter Dude its your CPU, that CPU is not very good. That's why you have issues running earth, but I will say that Earth could do with some optimisation when the devs get the time.

Yeah, I know it's not good.  Unfortunately, there's nothing I can currently do about it with my financial status.  I bring this up because, most of us in the potato community have that colloquial problem.

Do you have a software for your graphics card? It is possible (I have this issue without the software) your GPU's fans aren't running optimally. The generic settings keep it from melting but not really 'optimal' in most cases. If you don't, get one and adjust your fan speed to be higher at lower temperatures, if you have the software see what temperature your GPU gets to, I'm not sure for your specific card but generally 80 C is too hot.

Yep, I have my Radeon Settings on my dashboard.  It automatically kicks up and runs at the best settings, provided the usage level.

Open task manager and see if your CPU is maxing out (100% usage) that can cause huge FPS drops. Try and end any processes that aren't necessary using your CPU and see if that helps.

Ctrl+Alt+Delete and pick task manager or Ctrl+Shift+Escape to open it directly if you didn't know.

I've checked before, and I typically run about 60%-80% CPU usage.

I see no “my specs are:” so DE could try optimising anyway. For all we know, you are running Windows XP, with a single core processor and 512 MB of RAM.

  15. I feel I'll be speaking on behalf on the whole of the potato community here.  So, when U16 shipped years back, it rendered Warframe unplayable for me.  Something with the changes rendered me unable to play multiplayer, and made my performance tank -- I ran on a potato at the time.  Since then, I had went into a prolonged hiatus until I got an upgrade, and could enjoy the game -- and I did.  I successfully went from a potato to a toaster.  I can run almost every map on every system above 40-60 FPS, and it's smooth.

However, let me address the elephant in the room here.

    Earth.

Something needs done about it.  It's not even the Plains that are a problem, I can get decent framerate there so it doesn't turn into a complete hindrance during gameplay.  However, normal earth tilesets, they are a killer of my performance.  Like the drop of a coin, my performance tanks from anywhere from 60-80 usual FPS to a whopping and soul-crushing, less than 15.  Something needs done, like a certain set of config options that disable foliage and whatnot, even on the plains, for that extra framerate.  It is not enjoyable to lack the ability to aim when your game turns into a slideshow.

This could very well already be an option, and I may just be overlooking it like an idiot.

So, please DE, consider a set of changes that allow you, the player, to disable it -- even optimizations would help.

P.S:  I'm not sacrificing the quality of every other planet and tileset by turning down my just fine options just to facilitate the power needed to run Earth.

P.P.S: I'm not going to go through the arduous task of turning down my settings every time I go to Earth.

  16. So, this topic that I'll be writing is in, no way shape or form, antagonistic.  I won't be targeting anyone in particular, but rather voicing my opinion about something that has become rather excessive.

That, of course, would be maturity.

I've been with this game for a good amount of years now; have over 4k hours collectively, gone through three accounts in that time, and haven't become tired of this diamond in the rough yet.  I've seen the game go from being genuinely P2W, to the developers literally putting a system in place to stop themselves from making profit(you know the one).  I have never seen a more cooperative community, and more friendly one, in my lifetime.  However, there's a problem that plagues the public chats, and those alone, and that's of course the censoring.

I understand courtesy, respect, and tolerance is an essential thing when it comes to cooperative, and most importantly, public gaming; however, one problem I see is that it's enforced a bit too harshly.  With this being a M-rated game, with age verification being necessary in order to even obtain it(albeit easily circumventable), there should be liberties involved to express certain profanities.  The bots that are installed in the chats feel a bit too much like Auschwitz prison guards.  People shouldn't be getting chat suspensions, kicks, and bans over saying trigger words and sentences.

You shouldn't get a kick for saying a sentence involving 'trap', 'gay', and others.  You certainly shouldn't get one for saying the ever so infamous line: "Nezha is a trap."

Now, those words in of themselves are genuinely harmless; sure, they can carry some negative connotations, but typically they're used in an expression of speech, or for something disconnected.  So, here's my thought: Make reporting in-game actually worth a damn.  We all know that when you right-click on someone's name, and hit 'report', it goes in through one ear and out the other, unless you report them through the forums/website directly.

Negativity, disrespect, etc, of course shouldn't be tolerated, but there being 'trigger words' ultimately just dulls the player enjoyment.  There should be no reason for you to get a chat kick, disrupting the flow of a conversation you may have been having, all for saying a trigger word; one of the Guidelines is, after all, respect everyone's opinion.

With this in mind, there shouldn't be name restrictions on nameable items either.  We shouldn't be restricted with words such as 'Arcane', or 'Primed' when naming a zaw.  We also shouldn't be restricted from words like 'Tits', 'Ass', or as obscure as 'Vaginismus'.  For this being a Rated M game, it sure seems like we're catering too heavily to censorship.

All in all, that's just my two cents, and I'm interested to hear if anyone shares these same gripes, or have any additional and constructive info to add to this.

(P.S. I'm pretty sure this is the right section, but #*!% if I know, I might have it all wrong.)
