  1. There is a problem?

Yes there is; the big time-investment needed to progress in this game. The players are good at coming up with solutions to this problem, this is just another one :)

DE may bring on the next "problem", the players will solve it.

  2. Quiette Shy and Mogamu. :3

Quiette Shy for a sarcastic view on Warframe news and features and smart humor, and Mogamu for of a general overview or commentary.

  3. Well, the success or failure of the "GOTL" relies enitrely upon the way DE chooses who are eligible to partake in it. Unless DE holds potential "GOTL" candidates to a sufficiently high standard, it _WILL_fail.

The community is hardly a factor here.

EDIT: I will clarify my opnion here:

By "sufficiently high standard" I mean players who truly wish to assist other players and are driven by their desire to do just that, and nothing else. DE needs to do their research on those chosen to participate (I have no doubt that they are), and if they do that, the only limiting factor that I can see is lack of exposure to new players.

  4. So we learned this about people in general:

A: Some may have a different taste than you.

B: Since they are in fact not you, they react in ways you maybe would not.

Just for the record, I have no idea what this thing looks like, but people act like people do, nothing special about it.

Hopefully you had fun at Tenno Live! :D

    Cya in-game, blut ;)

  5. Make sure you have the correct mods in their corresponding polarity and keep in mind that the higher drain a mod has, the more you save by putting it in a mod slot of the same polarity. It reduces the drain by half, and it rounds up on uneven numbers, so a mod with a drain of 11 will have a drain of 6 (11/2 = 5.5 rounded up to 6).

  6. This deserves many more ups, even if its not going to be jackpot and we get a different lore its nicely explained.

Altho its worth remembering that "Ordis seems to have misplaced those memories." so I dont think he should be considered a reliable source/argument.

Yeah, you're right about Ordis not being a reliable source, I put more confidence in his quote "Operator, have you looked at these codices? They're absolutely beautiful! Composed with such elegance and grace, I have never seen anything like them! Is there even an operator capable of writing anything so perfect?", when refering to the Arcane Codices.

To me this may indicate a somewhat divine or more advanced origin for the Codices. Again, pure speculation, but seeing as Ordis is an AI and gives this much praise to a machine code is puzzling.

I love the vibe of this new quest though, I love the mystery!

  7. Hello!

I haven’t seen any threads discussing the possible lore implications brought by the most recent quest line “Stolen Dreams”, I am sure there are some, but here is my take on it. Mods can merge if they find that necessary of course. My theories borrow heavily from other games’ lore, Mass Effect and The Elder Scrolls to be precise.

    Alright, here we go.

    Foreword.

The Technocyte virus always sort of bugged me, according to Warframe lore the Orokin created the Technocyte virus as a means to combat the Sentients. However, DE has also stated that the lore from their earlier “Dark Sector” games are also canon in Warframe . To clarify, DE have made conflicting statements about whether the Dark Sector universe is connected to the Warfame universe, this theory is based on the presumption that parts of them are. In the Dark Sector games the Technocyte virus just sort of appears after what appears to be an American WW2-era submarine being raised from the ocean on the coast of the fictional state of Lasria (check the wiki if you want to know more).

To me, the Technocyte virus is the key to understanding the lore in Warframe, it seems to be the red thread, I will get back to it later on.

SPOILERS FOR THE STOLEN DREAMS QUESTLINE AHEAD!

The recent questline “Stolen Dreams” has you chase down something called “Arcane Codices”. What are these Arcane Codices? I assume Ordis to be an AI of Tenno design, I find it plausible that he is based on original Orokin tech like most of Tenno designs are. Ordis have never heard of these, which strikes me as odd, seeing as he is likely Orokin tech with Orokin memories (I realize this is all speculation, but bear with me). It is therefore reasonable to assume that either these Arcane Codices were an Orokin Secret, or perhaps they are not of Orokin origin at all.

In the last part of the quest, on the Derelict ship, the Arcane Machine says: “All is silent and calm. Hushed and empty is the womb of the sky”. This is a translated quote from a Mayan Creation text called “Popol Vuh” and this particular part relates to the creation of the earth.

If you have played any Elder Scroll game you may have heard of the “Elder Scrolls”. Basically these scrolls were written by gods that contain all the inner workings of the universe. I think these Arcane Codices is something similar to an Elder Scroll.

Alright, that was the Elder Scrolls part done, now back to Dark Sector and the origins of the Technocyte virus. As I mentioned at the beginning, the Dark Sector universe is the same as the Warframe universe, this has been confirmed by DE. In the Dark Sector games the Technocyte virus just appears out of nowhere, its origins are never explained. What if the knowledge to create the Technocyte virus, or perhaps discovered alongside it all originated from the discovery of the Arcane Codices back on earth? A codex containing vast amounts of knowledge about the universe, advanced technologies, biology, perhaps even they key to life itself. Invaluable knowledge, powerful knowledge, powerful enough to build an empire on…?

It would explain a number of things that are still somewhat unclear in the Warframe lore.

First of all the technocyte virus doesn’t fit the setting, it is too… complex, too advanced, especially considering the virus was first encountered on a rather old submarine (1940s-ish).

Secondly, the circumstances surrounding the rise of the Orokin Empire are largely unknown, but from what little we do know we can tell they were a highly advanced civilization consisting at least partially of humans. The existence of a codex containing massive amounts of information about advanced technologies would help explain how such a cold and unforgiving empire rose to power.

So who are the authors of the Arcane Codices, why did they show up on earth and why create them in the first place?

To explain that, I will borrow a concept I found on the Bioware forums regarding the Reaper’s master plan.

MINOR SPOILERS FROM MASS EFFECT AHEAD, BE WARNED!

If you have ever played a Mass Effect game, chances are you are familiar with the mass relays, the giant tuning forks in space that allow for near instantaneous travel across great distances between relays. The relays are of reaper design, utilizing advanced manipulation of “eezo” or element zero as it is know as in the games.

The reapers built a widespread network of mass relays throughout the galaxy for one purpose; to make the harvest more efficient, to control. By leaving behind pieces of technology the reapers knew would be reverse engineered by young space faring species, they already knew in which direction that species would take technologically.

By planting these Codices on many planets capable of sustaining life, present or in the future, the Sentients have effectively established total control over the space of their choosing. If the Technocyte plague don't eradicate a future civilization, the Sentiens would still have the upper hand by knowing their tech inside out.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Fast forward to the Old War, the war with the Sentients;

The Orokin try to combat the Sentients using their technology, the Sentients can easily manipulate Orokin tech seeing as it is in fact based on their own designs.

The Orokin release the Technocyte virus to combat them, it also fails for the same reasons as the technology did; the Sentients have total control.

Cue the Void, yadda yadda, and the Tenno saves the day! YAY!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you made it this far, thank you for reading! Remember that this is all speculation and I am sure there are many, many holes in my theory. Feel free to point them out or leave input below.
