  1. I posted some comparisons myself in another thread:

I believe they literally only consider light sources and shadows from the two windows now and nowhere else. Given the performance issues (I've personally dropped about 30 fps in the Orbiter and Drifter Camp) I think they rushed this out for some reason. If they're going to try to retrofit the new Soulframe lighting (at least I think that's where it's from) into Warframe they need to give it more time in the oven.

  2. I agree 100%. They definitely overdid it. The only light source in the entire orbiter is now from the two windows, it's as if the indoor lights are completely non-functional. While the new shadows are technically more impressive, they're not visually more impressive. Everything is too dark.

Some examples from my humble Orbiter:

    Spoiler

    bnZXHZ7.jpgjcYOB2v.jpg

The spotlight in the center of the arsenal is completely gone. This was there so that you could get accurate arsenal previews that aren't in the dark, it's just gone now.

    Spoiler

    Z4nkTJX.jpgHUwiHLc.jpg

In deleting all the other lights, they forgot about the Railjack docked above. It's in total darkness now, and if it wasn't for the Tempestarii skin it would be invisible.

    Spoiler

    2N7HP36.jpg2cC71S8.jpg

Worst of all, my Plains of Eidolon vignette that I paid platinum for had its light source and sun shafts deleted. Which ruins the entire look.

    Spoiler

    rMwHP8h.jpgRecEPWH.jpg

I've gone through the Drifter Camp as well and different planets and the light is always about the same; too dark because of the absence of indoor lights. I run Warframe with everything on High, by the way. I've also suddenly dropped about 30 frames with this lighting update.

DE, please revert this until you've gone through and added indoor light sources and optimized it.

  3. Couldn't you at least separate the bundle? Or make a separate version without all the platinum and regal aya etc that's inflating the price? People want more options instead of being forced to buy the current overpriced version. Trying to retroactively add more platinum to the bundles doesn't fix that problem.

People who already bought the bundle wouldn't be burned if you could say, buy half the bundle for half the price if you just wanted the Frost skin or something. Or less than half the price if it doesn't come with all the fluff. Please consider adding more options.

  4. Congrats Reb! I've been playing since 2014 and you've always been very good about listening to feedback, so I'm interested to see how things will change under your leadership.

Even if this means less big ambitious updates like Steve always wanted to do, doing things like going back and revisiting the core of the game and reworking things that have gone desperately untouched for years would be good for the game.

  5. More bugs! More shiny bugs!
    #1:

    • TYPE: In-Game, Orb Vallis
    • DESCRIPTION: While doing a Tier 3 Orb Vallis bounty (Network Collapse), I arrived at the location for stage 3/4 of the bounty in my Archwing, and was informed that the bounty had failed. The bounty continued to be tracked in my HUD so I thought it was a visual bug, but upon completing the bounty's requirement, nothing happened. I have no idea what exactly happened to cause this, but I think it might be Necramech or Archwing related. I have uploaded a video to provide the most information.
    • VISUAL: https://streamable.com/hk81t3 (Contains Rank 5 Fortuna Spoilers)
    • REPRODUCTION:
    1. Start a Tier 3 Orb Vallis Bounty from Eudico while playing Solo. The tier may not matter, but that's the tier I did.
    2. Complete stage 2 (defend the drone) in a Necramech.
    3. Leave the Necramech after the bounty stage is completed, then fly to stage 3 (Eliminate enemies) in an Archwing.
    4. The bounty should automatically fail.
    • EXPECTED RESULT: I expected the bounty to progress normally.
    • OBSERVED RESULT: The bounty automatically failed.
    • REPRODUCTION RATE: Not entirely sure.

    #2:

    • TYPE: In-Game, Orb Vallis
    • DESCRIPTION: If you repeat an Orb Vallis bounty that has "Enter the Secure Area" in the Enrichment Labs twice in a row, the second time the Spy console will remain open and uninteractable, as will all of the related consoles that would normally lift the "shield" around it. Therefore the bounty is not able to be completed again unless you reload the Orb Vallis completely.
    • VISUAL: N/A
    • REPRODUCTION:
    1. Complete an Orb Vallis bounty containing "Enter the Secure Area" in the Enrichment Labs.
    2. Repeat the same bounty, ensuring that it has the same stage again.
    3. The Spy console will be uninteractable, and the bounty incompletable.
    • EXPECTED RESULT: I expected the Spy room to reset.
    • OBSERVED RESULT: The spy room had not reset and the bounty was uncompletable.
    • REPRODUCTION RATE: Not entirely sure.

    • TYPE: In-Game, Orbiter, Art
    • DESCRIPTION: The Volt noggle is missing the cloth around his waist.
    • VISUAL: gpHPNZR.jpg
    • REPRODUCTION: Buy and place a Volt noggle.
    • EXPECTED RESULT: It should have the cloth around his waist.
    • OBSERVED RESULT: It does not have the cloth around his waist.
    • REPRODUCTION RATE: 100%

    #4:

    • TYPE: In-Game, Art
    • DESCRIPTION: Gallium resources are missing their specular/reflection map textures. As a result, Gallium deposits and bars appear as a dull dark blue-green, instead of the lustrous white color that is shown in its inventory and market icons, and its previous appearance in older versions of the game (about ~3 years ago). A prominent example is Otak's mining display seen below. This bug has gone unfixed for 3 years so I'm resubmitting it (more info: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1193186-rubedo-and-gallium-deposits-and-decorations-are-too-dark-and-dull/)
    • VISUAL: How it looks in-game:XoWspQm.png
      BDVOTzT.jpg
How it's supposed to look (note the white lustrous hue):
      latest?cb=20160922151832
      (Video credit: Zilaria on Youtube)
    • REPRODUCTION: Examine any Gallium deposit or bar model in-game, such as the orbiter decorations, resource containers in missions, or mining displays in NPC hubs.
    • EXPECTED RESULT: I expect Gallium to have its shiny white appearance, not a dull, dark blue-green appearance.
    • OBSERVED RESULT: It has a dull, dark blue-green appearance.
    • REPRODUCTION RATE: 100% - Every Gallium texture is broken.
    • TYPE: In-Game, Codex
    • DESCRIPTION: Fan Art when viewed in the codex has broken transparency. The game appears to make any part that's pure black transparent, causing artifacts as seen below:
    • VISUAL: TeVA1LC.jpg
      kqcxO8V.jpg
    • REPRODUCTION:
    1. Open the Codex.
    2. Go to the Fan Art section. (Universe -> Art Gallery -> Fan Art)
    3. All Fan Art is affected in the viewer.
    • EXPECTED RESULT: I expected the Fan Art to display normally.
    • OBSERVED RESULT: The Fan Art displays with the black areas being mistakenly made transparent.
    • REPRODUCTION RATE: 100% - Is always broken in the Codex.
    • TYPE: In-Game, Corpus Railjack
    • DESCRIPTION: In a squad, if your teammates enter the Corpus objective and the auto-teleport timer begins, and if you then enter the Archwing slingshot and get teleported while being launched out of the Archwing slingshot, you will remain permanently stuck in the slingshot animation with a complete loss of functionality. The unstuck command does not fix it. Having your teammates complete the objective and then teleport you to the exit point does not fix it. Having your teammates return to the Railjack and have you auto-teleported back aboard does not fix it. As far as we observed, the only fix was aborting the mission and returning to the Orbiter.
    • VISUAL: REJwC4t.jpg
    • REPRODUCTION:
    1. Enter a Corpus Railjack mission that has the "auto teleport teammates to the objective" condition.
    2. Wait for your teammates to start the auto teleport sequence (where Cy informs you you will be teleported).
    3. Enter the Archwing slingshot with only a few seconds remaining in the sequence before you are teleported, and fire yourself such that you will be teleported while flying through space.
    4. You will be permanently stuck in the animation until the mission is aborted.
    • EXPECTED RESULT: I should have regained functionality after teleporting instead of being stuck in the slingshot animation.
    • OBSERVED RESULT: I was permanently stuck in the slingshot animation, even after being teleported elsewhere.
    • REPRODUCTION RATE: Afraid to test it again, but I believe this will happen 100% of the time.

can it get even worser. that's already beyond trash.

I hate this so much. Whose bright idea (pun intended) was this? Every time I think, "Well, they're just going to ignore all of the feedback in this thread (including my post), so I might as well get used to it," they actively make it worse with things like this.

we will be vigilant to add additional options giving you the flexibility to tune the new system’s performance for the best Warframe experience possible.

Please tell me this will include an option to toggle Auto Exposure off again. It's been a massive detriment ever since it was made non-optional and literally dozens of players with light sensitivity have posted in the feedback thread saying that they can't even play the game anymore.

Can someone clarify for me. Im currenty using  Nivdia Filter that give alow me to reshade the game color and fake bump some texture. Is that count as EDITED?

The rules clearly state that if you use anything outside of Captura's features then it counts as edited. So yes.

  9. I don't like Autoexposure being required now. A lot of us don't want the brightness to be constantly fluctuating and find it distracting. Plus, a lot of times it either makes the game too dark or too bright. This used to be an optional feature so it's disappointing that now it's forced on us. I immediately noticed how much darker my orbiter and my star chart were with this option forced on and I wish we could turn it off still.

Edit: Here's a comparison of how dark my star chart is now, even on the default brightness setting:

to be clear its not her new kit, or her rework i have the problem with. its the 4th seemingly having little to no relation to fire. what ember is based on, yes it sets them on fire IF they survive, but even still they tried to fix the problem with people only using her 4th.,.. multiple times... and failed on each one, this most recent rework is the best attempt so far but its still not quite there yet.

they should change her 4th only slightly to rain down fire balls, or cause fire eruptions from the ground beneath the enemies. it would function more or less the same, and appear more fire based then a hunk of rock falling from not the sky.

I'm aware, but I also wanted to address some of the complaints people had in the thread regarding her rework at the same time.

Regarding just the aesthetics I mentioned my opinions regarding it fitting thematically. I consider Ember a "spellcaster" frame (she has the typical "Fireball" spell and now "Flame Armor") so having something similar to the fiery Meteor from Final Fantasy feels fitting to me. They don't just look like rocks either, they look molten in appearance and are also on fire. Then when they land they do create fire eruptions.

    ?cb=20191103151458

I would be fine with them changing the meteors to be fireballs like you're suggesting but I'm also fine with it the way it is right now and think it's thematically appropriate.

  11. I'm someone who's mained Ember since 2014. She was the first frame I built and the first Prime I built. I actually really like her rework.

Addressing some of the things people have said in this thread: Immolation was something she desperately needed to survive in higher level missions (before I had to run the Knockdown WoF augment just to stay alive, but even that only went so far and I'd usually have to switch to a tankier frame anyway), and is basically a better version of her old Overheat ability since at the lowest heat level it's giving the old max Overheat reduction (40%) and at max giving 90% reduction while also increasing ability strength. The reason why it's not a set and forget ability like other DR abilities is that it's also giving you that damage increase. I've always run max efficiency on Ember (especially because of the awful nerf they originally gave WoF) so I don't even really notice the energy drain when it reaches 90% and just press 3 whenever I need to.

Speaking of which, Fire Blast replaces my reliance on the old Knockdown augment since it always knocks enemies down now, and she doesn't need Accelerant anymore when Fire Blast will be getting rid of 100% of enemy armor and Immolation + her passive bonus allows her damage to scale much higher than it did before with Accelerant. I can actually kill things in level 90+ missions whereas before her damage fell off hard outside the star chart.

As for Inferno... I think it's really cool. It's really satisfying, has a fast cast, and it's much more active of an ability than WoF was. Instead of leaving WoF on as much as possible I actually have to consider where to aim Inferno (not that much because it's auto-target, but still). The trade off of it not hitting everything through walls in a 360° area is again, it can actually kill outside of the star chart now. Which is a huge change. Aesthetically, I think it's fine. It reminds me of the Meteor spell in Final Fantasy which always looked more like raining fireballs and fits in with Ember being a "spellcaster" frame. In-game it's the same way where they look like hunks of molten material rather than actual meteors and they cause fiery eruptions from the ground rather than "explosions." In that sense it fits really well thematically.

The only things I don't like about the rework are that they removed both the lingering fire effect from Fireball which was the only utility it had and also removed the lingering fire wall from Fire Blast which provided some area denial capabilities.

  12. Currently, both Rubedo and Gallium Deposits and their respective smaller versions/decorations appear dark, dull, and matte - irrespective of lighting conditions. They both appear to be missing specular or reflection maps that used to make them look shiny in previous builds of the game. Screenshots for both are below.

    Rubedo:

    V1NYG7Y.jpg

    o98mlWW.jpg

How it's supposed to look (bright, shiny reflections):

    Gallium:

How it's supposed to look (white, lustrous hue):

    latest?cb=20160922151832

    (Video credit: Zilaria on Youtube)

Note how especially in Gallium's case, the trademark white luster it used to have is completely gone - replaced by a dull, blueish green color - even on the surface of Mars which is outdoors and very bright, or even after moving the decoration into direct light at the front of the orbiter. This is what makes me think the bug is caused by a missing specular or reflection map that would normally define the shiny part of Gallium and Rubedo.

I should also note that this bug has been in the game for over 2 years now, as reported by examples here, here, and here from January 2018 that have since been archived, and a more recent one from November 2019 here. My screenshots are from the latest build of the game (May 2020). As this issue is still present and affects purchasable decorations I would like to see this fixed.

  13. Title basically explains the bug. When I tried to claim a completed K-Drive part from my foundry from within the app, I got a popup about my inventory being full and needing to buy extra slots as if it were a weapon and not a component (see screenshot below).

    jrJQICdl.png

I then verified that I was able to claim the item normally from within the game itself without buying any slots.

    sNoB8r0.jpg

    rsxbQwn.jpg

Oddly enough this didn't happen in the app with other "modular" components such as Kitgun parts, which I also claimed from the foundry at the same time.

    • TYPE: In-Game
    • DESCRIPTION: While playing as Garuda, if you use her 2nd ability (Blood Altar) on the new Sentient enemies, they will not get impaled correctly and the talons will float in the air, or the Sentient enemy's model will be stuck somewhere else near the talons.
    • VISUAL: 45gXuOk.jpg
      LCfXxUp.jpg
    • REPRODUCTION:
    1. Enter a Scarlet Spear mission as Garuda (Condrix or Murex Raid, the bug is present in both.)
    2. When a Sentient enemy appears, cast Blood Altar on them. This bug seems to happen more often if the Sentient is in the middle of attacking or floating in the air.
    3. The talons will appear but the model will not be impaled correctly.
    • EXPECTED RESULT: The Sentient's body should be impaled on the talons like other enemies.
    • OBSERVED RESULT: The Sentient's body is instead left somewhere slightly away from the talons, or the talons will be left floating in the air separate from the body.
    • REPRODUCTION RATE: Happens 100% of the time, but effects vary between the talons floating in the air (if the Sentient was in the air) or the Sentient's model being off-center or somewhere else from the talons. This has confused my teammates on more than one occasion when they didn't realize the Sentient was supposed to be impaled.
  14. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's intended in order to make the test more challenging, but currently Mastery Rank 20 is covered by a thick layer of blinding white fog which you can see below:

    nZy1Usv.jpg

I was still able to clear the test because I could sort of see the rings, but it made it harder than it needed to be.

For reference, the Warframe Wiki shows a video of the test which doesn't have any fog at all, which leads me to believe this is a bug:

In addition, the Simulacrum (which uses the same tileset) displays fine without any fog.

If it helps reproduce this bug, here are my graphical settings:
