  1.  Heya pdx.

    Hello Old Friend, Sir.

    reboot?! we stlil exist! kinda.

Yes, and I obv remember u bruh.

I think our clan is pretty much dead, I honestly quit because the clan split really confused me and stressed me out.

But I think its on the agenda that we kinda push it back up again.

  2. Been lurking for a while still.

Starting to like the direction that DE is going.

On behalf of me, and everyone else in my position, I would like to say thank you for putting some focus into end game, and hitting some of the points that have been bothering people.

A lot of people say that you do not listen to the community, but you are proving that wrong.

Everyone makes mistakes and I still believe that this is a great game, and has the potential now to be an amazing one.

  3. I have not been playing for about 4-5 months now.

Leaving asuro behind in the process.

However, unlike my last post, This one requires no negativity.

Because now I feel like this game is on the right track.

If anyone else is taking it easy like me, and if you still feel burnt out. I suggest giving the game a second chance.

It runs better, feels better, and looks better.

And with the addition of the trading post, I can see the potential again.

    Good job DE

I feel Like I'm ready to start playing again, and I hope that the rest of you feel the same way soon.

  4. Sorry guys,

Lately I have been focusing on my art work, I have been going around to a lot of art shows and galleries.

Have not had any time for video games, and I guess I let the clan down.

Although the clan is dead, But not because of AsurO.

Our good players, stopped playing the game, and I cant really change that.

We can either kick people who have been with us for ever and invite new ones.

But I don't really see the point.

Once I get my art down, I will come back, and try and push asuro back up again C :

  5. I disagree to an extent.

Competition, and being better then others is a ambitious desire that most players have, to set goals and to build upon.

Without a better player, then the worse players wont know what to work towards.

The game is not exactly balanced, and their is a meta right now, Which gives players direction.

And if you take that away, and remove the concept of winning. Then the only thing we have left is the gameplay.

Because if grinding is the core element of warframe, then without winning, It makes grinding obsolete.

  6. Also I want to throw in the idea.

For most threads, Their is a point for you to agree / disagree upon.

    The main idea here.

Is not to bash DE or argue about topics.

Its to build upon an initial topic and turn it into something constructive.

Its obvious that DE knows about the inherent issues here.

But without threads like these, that generate great discussion, DE would have nowhere to look for inspiration, or for ideas.

Sure nothing here will remedy any issues directly, but as a community this is almost the most we can do to help improve the game and give DE our feedback.

    Just for the info

  7. You keep using that word.

DE already thinks of the story. Mynki once posted some insight on Nova's creation and how her appearance reflects that. Warframe lore isn't spelled out for us through cut scenes and lore drops, but it's there. We just need to perceive it.

Subtle stuff like the presence of a Jackal-like machine in the Grineer Galleon counts for more than a bunch of scripted events.

    True

But a little guidance in the big black open space, would do warframe a lot of justice.

To add a little structure to the star map and meaning.

Am I saying we need something like borderlands story, to make the game truly coop.

    No.

I'm saying there should be a little bit of lore, and some simple linear progression to give players guidance.

It could be as simple as having lotus voice over some missions, and telling people where to go.

Or to have maybe one or two scripted maps per planet, to complete and finish off the lack luster boss fights.

This is not the biggest "issue" here

And to not over think it,  I am just saying we need a little more to finish off this aspect of warframe.

Not to make it the main focus of the game whatsoever, because its too far into development to go that way.

  8. I agree , and they can do this easy , warframe have unlimited way to get expanded / get lore , just need to think a bit...

they just need to hire a writer, and start scripting the gameplay to follow a simple campaign.

    So that we have direction.

Because even for new players, the map is illusive and confusing.

    There is no true direction.

    Warframe feels too experimental

  9. I think there is a bit of a misconception of what the players actually want.

TL;DR - We may have requested lore, but that does not mean we just want a couple page turners with cut scenes.

The lore needs to be incorporated into the gameplay, to be intuitive and compelling for us to actually relate to it.

And I wanted to clear up what I believe needs to truly happen.

These cut scenes, and simple walls of text are no more interesting then the background stories on league of legends champions.

We don't exactly want this, "Only"

Some want it, but that's not really going to make the game any more personalized.

We actually want a story, or a campaign.

Something to make use of this gigantic redundant star map.

I hope that you don't expect us to accept throwing a done sticker on lore, with just a few cut scenes here and there.

Because that is not the direction we want this to go.

Just to express what I actually mean by this, I will go into a little creative story intro myself, not saying we should use this.

"This is just an idea, not really the point of the thread. I added this to just sorta put into perspective of what I mean by story.

But the game should start off with an intro, Not a tutorial.

Something more personalized in the warframe universe.

Maybe a meeting with the lotus?

The lotus is a GREAT character, and I don't see why you don't capitalize on her.

But there are so many potential options, like maybe we are the childern of the lotus, and we serve her.

and the whole point of playing is to subject our obedience to her by doing what she says, and following her orders.

Then a big *Ending boss fight*

the lotus turns out to be corrupted, and we have to actually kill her.

I won't go much into what I personally think would work, Because that is not the point of this thread.

I want DE to understand that its wrong to half &#! what we want, and to cut around the desire of a true campaign or goal in warframe.

Writing up a bit of lore for us to read, is not very intuitive, and is not going to add much to the experience at all unless you integrate it with the game play.

In my clan, we have had so much lore, and fan fiction. And I have seen so much of it on the forums.

and to not capitalize on what your sitting on is a mistake.

The illusive mystery you have built up with the tenno, and the inspiring universe that sits around it.

You say that you like to keep the mystery,

But you are sitting on a fictional masterpiece, and if you spend some time to turn warframe into a work of art, instead of just a ftp shooter.

You have the chance here to leave some memorable opportunities that we can take from this game, and truly be gratified with the time we put into it.  Allowing us to appreciate the other game modes / pvp more.

  10. The combat is so addicting but yeah the only thing to do is level things over and over. i'm like 2 more weapons away from mastery 12, and though everyone says it's pointless what else am i supposed to do?

I'm scared imma bored quit at 12 lol.

Also something small as the grineer language thing added so much to the game for me. makes it feel like a real game and way more immersive. Now i crave story content. i want game modes with life.. i want to immerse in my "character" and run around doing random things like in mmos

I had this idea a while back.

That instead of selling warframes seperatly.

We could start out as the pure, tenno inside the frame.

Like a plain naked body, and you can choose from a male or female.

And you can level this tenno and evolve it into different paths, which then slowly start to make it look like other warframes.

and that way you can become attached to your frame, and switch out your parts or whatever to really go deep with customization.

Right now just buying stagnant warframes, and putting stagnant weapons on them give no connection.

Color options and cosmetic options are a good way to cover up these apparent issues.

Other then that, making them like actual suits, and allowing you to level your individual tenno as a whole, adding base stats, etc.  Underneath the warframes you have to buy would also allow people to somewhat connect to the character they are controlling.

and in a game like this, personality, and having a specialized character is really important considering how boring the gameplay is.

There are a lot of options, But its just something we will have to wait and see.

Meanwhile I suggest just playing another game, and coming back to warframe at a later date.

  11. I don't know if the issue is with lore or having a motivation for your character to do things. I get why people want to know why they are slaying hundreds of thousands of enemies and all, but if there was lore from the get-go, people would have the same complaints more or less, it's that there's no endgame. There's no incentive to get everything, or level everything, etc, all the incentive is self created, and in that sense, yeah, it is a sandbox game. In a game like WoW there is plenty of lore, but most players (AFAIK) don't care and will just do whatever is needed to get the next loot item, because there's always a carrot on a stick they probably can't quite achieve before the next expansion. Things like PvP keep the game constantly challenging, which is why Call of Duty and LoL don't need a story either. But Warframe is a game where players can get all the loot and don't want to PvP (despite how fun the conclave actually is...), so there's kind of this weird incentive gap I don't see in other games. There's nothing hard, so gearing up doesn't mean anything, and the core gameplay isn't exciting or emotional like it is in other PvP games, or difficult like it is in Left 4 Dead or some other coop game.

So two things I think could fix these problems:

    1. Move the carrot further. Add planets with level 300 enemies, make missions which DEMAND cooperative, skilled, tactical, communicative, and geared players. No wussy casual stuff here. If people master it and it becomes a joke, make crazier areas. Get to the point where there are maybe one or two clans who can actually clear the content and barely do it. Make gear progression feel meaningful and allow it to grant access to previously impossible places. This might get a bit too close to the WoW tiered-raids sort of idea, but at least it sets more visible concrete goals for players.

    2. Add a competitive metagame. In livestreams Steve talked about clan vs clan which was a system which I do believe is akin to the event happening this Wednesday, where PvE activity would be used to push-pull territories and clans could fight over the star chart, with the successful ones passively getting resources or credit for holding their territory. Planetside 2 style, but meta, not PvP.
