  1. Slowing enemies down with spores would make since since they suddenly have these giant exploding sacs on them. I mean if I suddenly grew some balls on my chest I'd be slowed down, too. I mean not as much as nova's MP, but just a bit. So the balls don't touch. Saryn's poison balls I mean, of course.

Just give molt regen automatically; everyone is going to use the augment anyways and it's only gimping builds by having three slots taken up all the time for Rage, Regen, and Molt. (Why isn't rage an exilus mod? Why not armored agility? Someone was asleep at the wheel on that one)

Just change out toxic lash for something more fitting for the kit. Auras seem to be popular. Why not just have saryn spread spores where she walks. Like some sort of toxic trail or poison path or some other alliterative attack. Melee needs to be burned down and rebuilt before more frames get shoved into the melee slot.

Miasma needs utility, if not damage. A knockback, extra spores, something. Just...something. I mean miasma's supposed to be a gas, so maybe a toxic "bubble" like the nullifier orbs. Pops spores when it touches them, hurts enemies inside of it, makes saryn a little harder to hit.

  2. No.  Excalibur, the name is from folklore, but the design, powers, have nothing to do with it except sword theme.  Loki is trickery yes, but looks nothing like any Loki interpretation  (For many good reasons, but doesn't change the fact).  If you have no idea what his powers or name is, you couldn't tell what he is based by.  The same with Banshee, or any other Warframes.  Their looks fit their powers and theme, and use the names that connects them to previous created materials, but they aren't truly based on them.

Nezha and Wukong literally take the most obvious parts of the deities, add a bit Tenno spin, design their theme and powers around them.  That is a huge departure from previous Warframe designs.  That is why I think OP's point about Smite is valid.

But honestly, I don't really think it matters too much.  It is a bit jarring that we have such unique Warframes, and then there's the promotional Warframes.

I sort of get this. Like the water-themed hydroid being pretty much pirate-themed to the point where it's hard to see anything else. A lot of the older frames had nice, abstract themes to them that still managed to tie in with their powers somehow. Rhino didn't look exactly a rhino, but he was still a beefy lookign guy that looks like he can take a hit. Saryn wasn't 100% Snake or plant, but the little growths gave her a more organic look than other frames. Lo and behold, she deals with poisons. Mag had coils around her arms but wasn't Red and Blue with a big magnet on her forhead or something. The newer frames have been a bit to on-the-nose as far as where their inspiration comes from. I mean you look at mesa and think "Yeah, that's a cowgirl", or gett right off the bat that Limbo's supposed to be a stage magician.  I wouldn't mind going back for a while.

  3. To keep this short.

Saryn needs more energy. MUCH more energy. You know Volt Prime? That much. For a frame that NEEDS to cast most of her abilities to even be considered remotely effective, not giving her an optimum energy pool is dumb in every possible way.

Armor or health needs a boost. With toxic lash being the only energy recovery method for her that doesn't require an external mod, it means saryn will be wading in to a hail of bullets more often than not. This is not good at all. She needs more survivablility and not everyone will have access to the rage/regen combo.

Spore needs more damage or some sort of utility. You might say viral proc is enough, I say half health doesn't hinder enemies you haven't shot yet and they're still able to shoot you. Even somethign like lowering speed, which frost can do with his 1 as well as outright STOP enemies, is reasonable. But overall boost the damage. Because spore tickles anything beyond pluto. Which is where most people play anyways when forming parties (draco is piss easy so I won't be counting it.)

Molt needs everything. Health (and not duration), as well as a range increase. When it pops, usually only melee-range enemies are effected and they're usually the weaklings, and die anyways. Or, baring range, a snowglobe sort of invuln phase that everyone and their mother has been mentioning.

Just get rid of toxic lash: saryn isn't a melee frame and it's laughable to put her on the frontlines as-is. Since there's as good a chance of that as exalted blade getting nerfed, instead make toxic lash into a skill that isn't exclusive to melee weapons. Honestly I've been using my torid instead because I'm sure as hell not going to get close enough to hit someone for a measely 2-6 energy. The risk isn't worth it for the "reward"

Miasma needs a damage boost or utility. Now before the salt mines start up I just want to toss in that I've been testing this in the same T3 exterminatiion missions I always test junk out and it's just not good. Not with the ideal conditions of poison and toxin and everything with spores. If someone's had better luck I'd be more than happy to see the screencaps because I don't feel like I'm doing anything more than tickling the rear ends of enemies and that onecorruptedgrineerwiththegorgonIcan'trememberthename is having a chuckle while I pose and make an easy target for him...her...whatever. If not damage, then a utility of the corrosive proc it used to have, or SOMETHING. Maybe also spreading spores, since that's apparently the thing now, or area denial. Because as a pure damage skill it's Silly, Hindering, Inferior, and just plain Terrible.

That's my two cents on it. Again. That isn't very short.

  4. DEs only response has been that they will let the saryn changes marinate and that they wont do any kneejerk changes. They will also check some data on how she is used aka they will make use of tracking tools to investigate how she is played.

Exactly what they can track and not track we dont know.

So in other words she's getting the ember treatment and in "a good place"?

  5. Just trade out toxic lash for something else entirely. Modding my melee weapons already outdoes it, and any buff/block bonus isn't worth wading into a sea of gunfire when I could get something like a mine or trap that pops into poison/spores/confettiagainstanythingafterpluto

  6. Don't move this to the feedback thread: I want it to be actually seen and the feedback thread is where good ideas go to die.

So there's plenty of people that are not at all satisfied with the damage of not only miasma, but spore, Molt, and even Not Contagion. Simply put it's just not up to snuff for an average round of play and veteren players are feeling the difference, because you'd have to be blind to not see it.

While my opinion on molt has been the same as it's always been, (press 2 to summon that squishy thing I use to distract enemies for half a second before it dies. Why don't they make it tougher?), and my opionon on Contagion has been the same (I have mods that do this better, anyways), I do have an idea on how to make Saryn's two damage skills, Spore and Miasma, useable again in an interesting and unprecedented way: precentages. Have those two skills scale off of enemies by dealing damage equal to a certain percent of their max health, rather than damage against health.

I know what you're thinking: it sounds overpowered. Well that's just rude because I haven't even said any numbers yet.

Spores: Mechanically this skill is alright and pretty straightforward. You press 1 while targeting an enemy, they get infected, and popping the spore spreads it. But anyone that's tried that in later  game areas has realized that it does pisspoor damage even for a 1. While on other frames this lackluster damage is mitigated by utility, spore is a purely damage-based skill with no real utility beyond the viral proc.

My suggested amount of Health Percent Per Tick(HPPT) goes 1/2/3/4% per spore. Now this might not seem like much, but you need to keep in mind that enemies will have multiple spores, usually 3. This brings that up to 3/6/9/12%, which puts enemies on a ten second "clock". Of course this can be increased or decreased through use of mods, like any skill, but within reasonable levels for something precentage.

Miasma: Before the nerf (and it is a nerf, darling), this was saryn's signature move. I say signature because there were some of us, myself included, that actually had OTHER builds. But this was, by far, the most useful. As it currently stands, it's not only complimented, but completely reliant, on both Contagion(forcing a frame with lowered health into melee), and Spores. And unless there's a perfect execution every single time, the damage won't be up to snuff for any content beyond pluto. You know: the towers where all the fun prime stuff, the raids, and any further "Endgame" content would probably be (or it's equivalent after they get rid of the void). Now I can't speak for everyone, but I'd like to be free to not have to stick to OP frames like Excal to survive lategame stuff and I'm sure others agree.

My suggested amount of HPPT goes 20/22/24/25%. This is a heavy hitting skill, as advertised in her promo video, that still requires a few seconds to really pay off, and is still compliemted (and NOT dependent) by her Spores and Contagion (or something better, baring no signifigant changes to Saryn's survivability based on the current trend of hotfixes and updates). Like spores, mods can increase or decrease this amount, but the changes wound't be as extreme as pumping up damge by 200% or something.

Now unless I'm wrong, this should accomplish two very important things.

First, it lets Saryn players feel powerful in lategame play, with her damage being much more consistent and scaling wonderfully with any content that could come along, and encourages different sorts of builds more than it might already.

Secondly, it reduces salt from players who were outpreformed by saryn players puts saryn in a very unique spot, with a very distinct-but-functional flavor to her kit.

  7. Some doesnt mean Everyone, and just because of those few, DE doesnt gona do something so stupid.

Clipping? are we gona really talk about it? If you need 100% real physics on a game you wont find a single one, you want DE to fix it, because it just bothers you, they wont, like they wont get rid of the shoulders and the belts of Rhino Prime when using Rubedo skin, and they will probably still poping up when Palatine Skin comes this week

And why not also add, an option so i can get my warframe witouth the helmet? so i can see her face?

Because we don't even know what they are under those things.

Vor calls the tenno light, the codex entries suggest that they look like orokin (which we don't know how they look, regardless of how easy it is to assume they look human), Tyl Regor calls them lizards. In order to have helmetless tenno, we'd have to know what the tenno are first.

And clipping when it's completely heinous and obvious should be something they consider, considering the took steps so that syandana didn't bugg out as much with trin's tail/skirt.

U wot m8? Trinity Prime has so many cloth parts flying around that I can barely understand what's going on my screen, it's really annoying.

For Warframe this is a baroque-like period where everything must have absurd amounts of cloth physics, I really don't understand it.

When equinox came out, i was able to brush it aside. Oh they have their new movement system so they want something that looks good when moving. But trin prime...and now saryn alt. Cloth physics are nice in small doses like mesa's bandana or the scarves/capes. But really trin has way too much going on all the time.

  8. DE likes to make things complicated when all they actually need to do are:

    -Revert EHP nerf

    -Improved amor

-Give Molt the snow globe treatment.

    -Reduce overall power cost.

-Give Toxic Lash an active damage reduction even when not blocking/parrying.

-Give Miasma a 100% corrosive proc w/c is non stackable, -25% enemy armor and casting Miasma would refresh the proc debuff while doing a new set of DoT.

    -Improved power range.

Seriously they can just do all this and paste this in the patch notes and everything would be okay.

I'd say have venom and miasma do ticks based off of precentages instead of damage. That way the S#&$ters get what they want, which is saryn not being able to "kill steal", while people that actually played saryn still get a frame that can not be completely terrible all of the time.

  9. Why? Do you want that old, stupid and empty press4towin Saryn?

Having damage that works on actual runs would be nice. Draco is still kiddyland by comparison and saryn's kit is not only broken, but clashes against itself. After all now it's just pressing 1 over and over instead of pressing 4; that's not at all better and you know it.

  10. Well if it toggle-able/auxiliary , im sure its fine though im not sure about the skirt since it seem latched on the body

Different model, which is why it can glitch away in the codex entries and however the thread starter did it.

Like here. Also it seems the skirt's continuation into the main model sort of just makes it into a corset when the skirt's gone. Really it just looks nicer this way. Less barbieframe and more plantframe without having too much going on.

    WFl98WX.png

Actually it looks like a short-sleved shirt instead, looking at it more.

  11. Thats silly, the whole point of the skin is to give her a brand new look, and suddenly you want to remove parts of what makes the look unique? To butcher a design just because you want her without a skirt? I think thats not only frustating but rather a disheartening thought to those who took tge trouble of not only designing it but modeling it as well.

We can give it to limbo. Not like his design can get any worse.

Well Mirage doesn't have a skirt so her noble animation works with HER frame. They're not going to make unique alt stances for each frame based on the stances of other frames.

The skirt and flower are beautiful, to be honest.

Which is why I don't mind it being toggleable/an auxillary item. Those that like the skirt can enjoy their terrible taste, and the rest of us can have a better saryn.

  12. This. The skrit is a clipping nightmare and the flower...just doesn't look very nice. Saryn looks way better without them, and they can be placed into the auxillary slot for players that still want them. Really it's all a bit too much, and a lot of detail is lost by being hidden by the skirt, like the plant-like growth on the leg or the texturing along the hem of the "boots". Also I want to use my scarves.

  13. That's a bit harsh to say as long as DE is still actively working on her (basically she's in open beta right now).

And you're already giving up after just a week of playtesting ...?

To be fair, it really does feel like they're either half listening or not testing things before relasing them.

"Saryn's molt is gone too quick!"

And they double the duration instead of one of the suggestions to have it actually last longer.

    "Saryn's kit chugs energy!"

2 energy back per spore! Too bad we can't use fleeting without gimping ourselves.

I don't know if someone dressed as saryn pissed in their cherrios, but they seem dead-set on making her worse and worse for no reason other than spite.

  14. as much as people want to farm to get "faster" into higher content, you should probably realize that the frame or changes isnt the problem at this point, its the way we rank up as well as the missions. i mean cmon, are you honestly saying youd like to play warframe just pressing a single button and just sitting there? i actually enjoy games by paying attention, being active and investing my time having fun, not by ranking up to do the same thing over again once new content comes in.

i do agree with you to an extent on how the approaches of certain changes are being made but even those are applied to how warframe is currently played to progress per se.

They need to rework more than just saryn. Melee is just pressing one button and more and more frames are getting focus on part of the game with the least development. Yes, I know they're adding charge attacks back (and clunkier than before) but it's STILL PRESSING ONE BUTTON.

Saryn's kit would be great in a stealth-oriented game. But warframe is as much stealth as it is a game about single target combat.

  15. The issue with DoT is that it is far too inconvenient at late to end game. Saryn before the revist only need minor adjustments. Many players used the 4th as a panic button when there weapons were reloading / being pinned in a corner / clearing a group quickly to revive teammates / when weapon damage starts falling off at late game. With a duration fixed DoT that moment of needing to clear large groups very quickly is no longer applicable, because you not only have to waste far more energy to cast multiple abilities, you then have to wait for the dot procs to actually kill the affected targets. Try waiting 8 seconds with a group of lvl 120 bombards amd heavy gunners shooting at you. I bet that you get put down before activating spores, molt and then miasma. Then waiting for the ticks to kill your targets. It is far more effevtive to run with a tigris/ tonkor/ boltor prime/ quanta vandle etc etc and corrosive projection.

SO now you waste more energy and do massively less dps than the pre reworked saryn. When this update hits the consol I will be sure to number crunch the hell out of the reworked saryn and compare it to my current builds.

If you browse the feedback forums, a few people have. General concensus is that, while possible, it's putting saryn at a disadvantage to get to her old power level by sacrificing survivability. And survivability is a must in any late-game content.

  16. No pls. Her skirt and flower are like the main reason I like the new skin. pls, no pls

(though I gotta say it doesn't look too bad without them, I think vines would be pretty cool tbh)

Well maybe not outright remove, but make them removeable. Like nekros and valkyr's extra dangly bits.
