  1. In all honesty, Banshee is my go-to for disruptions. Her 1 modded for 100% armor strip is a good option to stun-lock demolysts. Replace her 4 with radial blind or gloom for survivability. So I wouldn't give her my vote.

Frost though? Yikes. Gara retired Frost in my eyes. Frost's 1, 2, and 4 don't scale well. He mashes his 3 and just...stands in one place? Awesome! (only it isn't awesome)

Yeah, I became aware of this after devstream 113.  I assumed as much, so I'm not taken aback by it.  But it's fine, I have no qualms about starting from scratch on Switch.  The Switch has been my preferred platform for the past year, and it probably will continue to be until PS5 and Xbox Scarlet are released in a couple or few years.

There won't be cross-platform Steve confirmed so, no idea where you got that from.

It was an assumption.  MS and Nintendo allow cross-platform play with Minecraft, Fortnite, Rocket League, and other less notable games.  It was fair to assume Warframe would be no different.  However, since the Switch version will most likely be operating on a different build of Warframe, it makes sense that there wouldn't be cross-platform between MS and Nintendo for this game.

I don't see how the Switch is going to be any better, personally. Portable, sure, but it's hardly the optimal machine for gaming and you're still going to run into a bunch of issues.

Oh I'm not expecting the Switch version to be better.  I whole-heartedly expect the resolution and performance to be the lowest of any platform available.  And Nintendo's track record with their online services isn't the best either.  But the Switch has been my favorite platform for almost a year.  And I'm also ready to move on from the PS4 to the PS5, when it arrives in two or three years.

And what exactly are you going to be playing?

A secondary-screen of Warframe is a wonderful thing.  I've played Warframe for several hours, portably, on my Vita.  It allows me to enjoy movies and tv shows on a separate screen while grinding mats.  The only downside are the forced touch screen controls, they're necessary to access the L2, R2, L3, and R3 buttons while using the Vita.

The Switch has all the necessary inputs.  And so, the Switch will be the optimal secondary-screen experience for Warframe.

An easy "win" for DE and Nintendo.

I look forward to playing Warframe portably, without needing the touch controls as you do playing portably on the Vita.

For me is a good idea, when warframe account can be linked together (be same) for xbox and switch. Same account independency by platform. Is something planed?

Because Warframe isn't game for some hours. It would be nice to have same account on both consoles. Can't start playing warframe from begin (on switch) 🙂

PS4 with Xbox or Switch?  Nope.  Sony doesn't want their ecosystem to mingle with any other companies' ecosystem.

Xbox with Switch?  Maybe.  Nintendo and MS have played nice by allowing crossplay with Rocket League, Minecraft, and Fortnite.  So Warframe is a definite-maybe.

They don't gain anything going crossplay as a market leader but every other platform does.

Denying crossplay and locking third party game accounts to the Sony ecosystem is anti-consumer.

When the PS5 and Xbox Scarlet are released in two or three years, gamers will remember how stubborn Sony has been on the topic.

Personally, I'm already leaning towards a Scarlet over a PS5 because of all the crossplay nonsense with Sony.

The only reason I'd play it on my Switch is if I could play the same account on both PC and the Switch without losing anything. I'd never transfer my pc account to switch and not be able to play on pc.

There's still a chance that Nintendo will allow players to log in to their PC account on the Switch.

For example, Nintendo allows Minecraft players to log into their MS account and unlock Xbox achievements on the Switch.

  10. Even though nothing has been set in stone yet, I'm fairly certain that I will be unable to transfer my PS4 Warframe account to the Switch when the Switch version launches.  Four years, 3k+ hours, $850 (give or take)...all stuck on PlayStation platforms.  Now I'm beginning to regret not buying an Xbox One and beginning my Warframe experience earlier on that platform.  Because you know MS and Nintendo will be allowing cross-platform play between those systems.

I'm very pissed off at the moment.

I get that part, but do i Lose my PC progress????
I KNOW the Founders stuff doesnt come with me, but thats not what i meant
IF you transfer from PC to Switch, would you loose the PC progress?

I assume that'll depend on Nintendo.

Nintendo might decide to be less rigid than Sony about allowing cross-platform information sharing.

Chances are good you'll be able to sign in to a Switch with your PC Warframe account.

    Sorry. I meant Nintendo-PC cross-platform. . .

Doubt PC and Xbox will ever get-together.

    Ah.

    I can see Nintendo-PC cross-platform play happening.

Wait, so when you transfer in general you dont keep it on PC? Well there goes my fun with Warframe on the switch then 😕

Yeah, if DE offers a transfer option, you'd lose your founder gear in the transfer.

Namely your Excalibur Prime, Lato Prime, and Skana Prime.

Just like with the PS4 transfer, DE wouldn't want content to exist on the platform that isn't available to be owned by everyone.

    Edit: sentence structure, for clarity.

  13. So the Game Awards is airing tomorrow, 5:30pm PST/7:30 CST/8:30 EST.

Personally, I watch the show for the world premieres.  Games previously announced but have yet to show gameplay footage and/or games being shown for the first time.  This year there's a rumored thirteen games making their first appearance.  Will you be tuning in to watch?  What games are you hoping to get more info on?

    Myself?

I assume Red Dead Redemption 2 will show some gameplay and announce a release date.  Death Stranding will show some gameplay, no release date.  Metroid Prime 4 will show an extended trailer, no release date.  And my fingers are crossed for any new Cyberpunk 2077 or Starfield info.

I've got a couple in mind

    Hydroid

    Nidus

    Inaros

    Atlas

Nidus - a personal favorite of mine.  My go-to frame for any infested mission (sans rescue).  Strong CC, good direct damage once your stacks are built up, and strong survivability.  I'm looking forward to his prime variant arriving in a few years.

Inaros - I didn't like his kit at first, but he's slowly gaining appeal for me.  Negation Swarm is one of those "must-have" augments that changes Inaros from a sorta-tanky frame into a scary-good-tanky frame.  I just love running through grineer magnetic doors without consequence.

Hydroid - I haven't spent any time with him in years.  He was considered one of the weakest frames in the game for a while.  I believe his rework has put him back near the top in terms of damage?  But I wouldn't know.

Atlas - probably the worst of the options here.  He's in desperate need of a rework.  Even though he has one of the coolest first-skills in landslide, the rest of his kit is lackluster and doesn't scale well into the endgame.  But you'll want his mastery xp, so at least give him a try yourself eventually.

  15. Anywho, I played for a few hours last night.  Began and finished Saya's quest, did about a dozen bounties.  Aside from a few glitches (different bounty rewards than what my squadmates got, flashing lights and affinity numbers not disappearing from my HUD, squadmates getting stuck in capture animation, etc) I was surprised at how good the experience is on the Plains, considering how busy the servers are at the moment.  I think the content added with the Plains will keep me occupied with busywork for a while.

It's nice to have an excuse to play Warframe again.

    My thanks.

Where is this supposed “escape menu” listed as a means to leave the PoE with all saved progress? The “abort mission” option is all I see and I’ve lost progress by leaving via that method since sometimes other players want to stay. I need a way to leave WITHOUT losing any progress/rewards.

Go back to Cetus to officially end your session in the Plains.

If you leave squad (rather than abort mission) while in the doorway between Cetus and the Plains you'll be met with a "mission complete" screen.
