I'm not sure if this has ever been suggested, or if it has, possibly not in a way I thought of: Basically, in an effort to make builds/mods easier and more open and free flowing, I propose this: Weapons, Warframes, anything and everything that could possibly take a forma, can be made a 'universal' slot, if a forma is used and attuned to every polarity (excluding Umbra, but it can be added). It would be a long grind with hundreds of hours spent on Sedna, but would ultimately provide a more positive quality of life since some mods and polarities have to be ordered, and that darn Cryo Rounds mod is that awkward polarity different from the other elementals. Or maybe that riven you have is in a similar situation. The way I would see this best working is after a mod slot is polarized, it can be polarized again with the other remaining polarities. After all polarities are applied (Umbra not required, but can be added) it would instead get a Tenno/Lotus emblem, signifying that that slot has been fully mastered/polarized. This opens up the builds for more optimization and allows freedom to swap between truly unique playstyles, even if they will become more cookie cutter, it would not require having multiple different versions of a weapon with specific polarized patterns. In total this would mean your average weapon would require up to 27 forma to fully maximize, but obviously this is probably closer to 10-15 Forma for the purpose of setting up specific slots to have extra flexibility while the other 4-6 formas are dedicated to the core weapon mods. tl;dr: Warframe Aura Forma but for all weapon/warframe slots, requiring heavy investment to unlock rather than just one catch-all forma.
