  1. just checking if they have fixed the issue, it was one of the reasons I stopped around deimos and I´m surprised they still haven´t fixed this issue

just keep on posting and linking in every update post please everyone till they actually recognise and fix the issue or revert the system to the state before the quality/color degradation update

  2. This update really messed up the optics of the game. I suggest firmly to revert back to the 2008 version - sure maybe it was more performance intensive - but at least the brightness been accurate.

Also why does this company does not calibrate their monitors? The colors allways seem off, the "color correction" is shameful and should rather be called "color destruction".

And now it even fails to accurately display brightness?

For me the orbiter is to bright, the places where light shines on. The HDR (meaning the the autoexposure not the gamut) is missing in the menu, I can't turn it off or on.

Playing around with brightness and contrast cannot achieve correct grey scales. Even when correcting for the bright scenes, it breaks the dark scenes.

For me dark scenes are correctly displayed but there is no way to correctly display brights scenes. Nor can use HDR (the gamut) on normal, or even on HDR displays as the implemantation is lacking. Even with a HDR screen, Win10 HDR on, the option stays greyed out and I don't want to use it anyways because it would just make the bright scenes even brighter.

The funniest thing is the derelict now which shines in glaring blue color and everything is bright and moshy - which is actually nice.

Snow/Light scenes are unplayable now, because its just blinding.

    To sum up:

    Revert or

make autoexposure optional again (there is still no game out there where that actually works good anyways) or

give as option to use the 2008 light model add a warning that it maybe is less efficiant and that brightness is then correctly displayed.

Then please invest like 50 bucks in a colorimeter and let someone calibrate your monitors so you can actually see things like other (we) people see, maybe give the design department also better monitors.

    For the Future:

If you want to play around with light, why not with ray tracing or voxel global illumination?

edit: Also removing "8 bit" code, so on PC many people actually have 8 or even 10 bit monitors - is that the reason why also colors look washed out now? Does the hotfix mean the engine was downgraded to TV/console output levels?

  3. DSR is not a from of AA, you can use DSR and ad any form of AA you want.
DSR is just an easier way to use Downsampling. Of course it has similarities to OGSSAA but it has nothing to do with MSAA or MFAA as these do not increase resolution in terms of textures/shaders and so on. Like Downsampling you force the Game to run on a higher resolution (as an example 4k) so any effect that is based on resolution: Shader-, Particle-, Filter-, Postprocessing-, Texturefiltering-, Tesselationeffects and so on hast to calculate at a higher resolution. The GPU send then a 4k image to your monitor and he scales it down to his native resolution. Even though you lose 75% of rendered pixels, you still get benefits in form of better effects, sharp textures, less aliasing, viewdistance and more details at higher distance.
The quality of your image increases.
The Diffrence between DSR and Downsampling is only the fact that with DSR the GPU itself scales the image to native resolution BEFORE it sends it to the Monitor, this makes it alot easier to use Downsampling. Normally it has alot of difficulties to set up downsampling with DSR dont.

If you need any source on that, just tell me, i´m using downsampling for about 6 years and was very happy when nvidia announced that they would integrate this into their driver.

MSAA is a ressource efficient form of AA that is very easy to implent in any game, and has nothing to do with changing resolution. MFAA is just a even more efficient and better quality form of MSAA that is interchangebale with MSAA without even changing game code.

DSR/Downsampling not only helps with aliasing but improves other parts in terms of image quality in a game.

The max resolution you can use is depending on game code and api. So even though WF uses DX11 and could use higher resolutions then 4k, it still has a bad coding and so it buggy and normaly dont allow you higher resolution then 4k.

    ---------------------------------

I would like to play @5120x2880, for my monitor (2560x1440) this would be the best option, in games like BIoshock everything looks awesome and beutiful, ever image is very clear and has so many details and there are no distance effects. Hope DE will fix this, becouse in my opinion it is just another bug in wf that this resolution wont work.

    ---------------------------------

@Seeker you see that your chart and "text" isn´t about DSR right? It is about MSAA and MFAA and has nothing to do with DSR.

p.s. sry for my bad english, sitting here in germany

  4. I´m not sure if it works, because i dont see a diffrence:

If you have a Nvidia 980/970:

    1.Download Nvidia Inspector

    2. Start it, go to control symbol, select "Warframe"

    3. look for a line called "enable Multi Frame..." and enable it

    4. push apply button

And then tell me if you can see a diffrence, or if you find a way :D

p.s. have find out thatbyou have to use msaa for mfaa, you can activate this in nvifia inspector too

  5. "Players can no longer sell Large Restore Blueprints of any variety for credits."

This was the best thing about Syndikates -> now they just suck again -.-

This was very useful and motivating long term, pls bring it back!
pls DE let us sell them for 100k so Syndikates would be  still useful!
