    •  Passive Suggestion sounds interesting. Would need to be tuned absolutely perfect tho - if its too much it could be sort of perma invisibility, if its too little it would be the same as the new passive. Id rather prefer to have the old disarm passive back but fat chance (pls no argument about how its a dps loss on mind controlled targets because AUUGHGH).
       
    • There seems to be this huge focus on mind controlled targets needing to kill stuff. Making them spectres could help. Enemy AI always was stupid and they always did crap damage to each other. So if you want them to kill stuff you either buff their damage massively or program better AI. Chances on that i dunno. Id propose raising a mind controlled targets HP and aggro level and buff them in the only area they ever where useful : being distractions and punching bags
      (like seriously i keep reading about how mind controlled targets suck and im like whats new. If its a bursa or a select other few types here comes the pain train but anything else i just  mc to get it outta the way or as distraction. Yes let me stand around and wait for my minions to slowly kill one other guy maybe. What? Id think Nyx sucked too played like that)
       
    • Bolt suggestion sounds nice, however if its still gonna be str scaling, eh dunno.
       
    • Chaos is fine. Added aggro would be neat. You could change the current useless aug to have the old disarm. It would be a foul compromise and loss of a mod slot but hey, beggars etc.
       
    • Very Yes on forgetting the damage/nuke part of absorb. Id maybe add a longer stun on enemies or something when poppin the bubble

    The disarm is gone, what is actually better now? A valuable CC tool exchanged for the laughable, tiny damage from mind controlled/chaosed enemies.

    Oh right CC is dead by design, never mind. Enjoy the "press 4 to make map ded" meta, ill go play something with multiple viable playstyles.

    Nail in the coffin. Hows that added oh so great extra dps from mind controlled enemies now that they dont lose their guns? Doesnt matter squat? Oh no! And then they replace it with this. I mean its workable, once upon a time there were no passives so it be just like that again, yay. Still pisses me off. The rest of the rework stuff is so-so but this one demonstrated just such a lack of understanding.

    Problem is DE and the "CC is dead" crowd have joined forces - you can escape the "dont use CC it makes everything slower just kill everything" whining by playing solo but if the developer itself reinforces that and actively designs against the playstyle, welp.

    Bring back the old passive. Work an aggro manipulation mechanic into the skills - like mind controlled enemies having a higher threat rating and being targeted more/preferably. Stuff like that. No effortpost, feedback got ignored even when they didnt have a spaceship update to sort out.

    If Chaos would make enemies 100% ignore you that would be quite op. You always had the random chance for any chaosed enemy to randomly decide to shoot you. Difference with the old passive thered be also a chance the enemy deciding to randomly shoot you wouldnt have a gun. They replaced a wide area disarm with nothing. Quite a change.

    Moot bickering, its done and DE moved on.

    I disagree hard with this notion that Nyx isnt/wasnt effective because the enemies couldnt pump out dps comparable to saryn or whatever or that she relied in any way on dps of mind controlled/chaosed targets. All her skills were purely to disable enemies so you could ignore them or blow em up with your guns, the things with (normally) a bazillion more dps than the enemy or (generally) any of Nyx skills. But thats how i played and maybe i did it wrong, purely my opinion.

    But then i dunno, people who are used to delete rooms with one ability played her and she of course doesnt do that. Mind controlled enemies cant kill S#&$, Absorb the skill which is on 4 which should usually end the world does do piddly damage. What a sucky frame, lets level her and then go back to playing a dps frame. Or lets go on twitch and demand that shed be changed to a dps frame because thats every frame and we never cant have enough dps frames and we are bored or whatever. DE obliged and turned Nyx into something (Disclaimer : Purely my opinion) which does CC worse than before and still isnt a dps frame. Then everyone went back to playing mesa and now all there is are occasional threads on how absorb needs to be a proper nuke.

    Yea think thats the obvious trap they fell into. If your content is repetitive/cant sustain players alone you gotta offer radically different (optimally viable) ways to play it. Just look at Diablo or the like - same S#&$ for years but different builds and the randomized drops leading to (mostly) different setups kept it fresh.

    Warframe now is just max deepeess and everyone burns thru the little content bites and then gets bored. They try to counter that by introducing bullS#&$ty immune or spongey enemies it seems. Its partially a player made problem. When arbitrations were new i actually pugged again and it was pretty fun for a while but then the speedvas started filtering in and the ol "dont use chaos it makes everything slower" song started again. Everything which isnt max dps meta exploding a room in one second must die but oh no we burned thru the starchart and now theres nothing to do. And DE actively supports this with their design. Just look at the murked Nyx rework. DPS and armor stripping introduced into what used to be a pure CC frame. And a CC passive sacrificed for a lousy dps gain. Still pissed after all this time better stop before rant about ~~*rework*~~ again bai

    Mind Control: Good to get stuff outta your face. Bursas are nice little doggie friends. Damaging them to boost their damage is a thing but its kinda clunky. Some sorta channel would have been better

    Psychic bolts: Used to be a mini chaos sorta but they changed it to this because corrosive projection is meta, so yes feels out of place

    Chaos : How dare you insult Chaos, repent now >:V

    Absorb-Assimilate : Woa im invulnerable! Everyone fixates on this and wants it to be a nuke because CC is dead

    Seems you didnt notice the passive and who could blame you. This used to be a powerful disarm but people cried because it was bad for the dps of mind controlled targets (lolololololololasfjhfashfsdkfhs) so now its a useless "chance to miss" for the enemies.

    Anyways have fun. Despite the rebotch Nyx is still a pretty unique, fun frame 🙂

    Answered your own question kinda. Nyx is/was a CC frame. Then people complained that she doesnt kill stuff as good as (all the many many other, readily available) DPS frames when you press 4. So they shoved some meta gimmicks into the kit to appease the larger community and now shes neither a good CC frame or DPS.

    Its still hard to stay away after like hundreds of hours sunk into this game played as Nyx main but i occasionally read the forums to see if theres a glimmer of hope for a rework of the rework and all i see is threads about (censored) absorb. Absorb absorb absorb to the nth degree. Absorb needs to be a real big boy nuke and all will be better! Is that all people did with the frame, run around in the effin assimilate bubble? Lord have mercy. Jesus. Oh christ. And the only tiny fixes coming out are all related to absorb too. Effin eff.

    DE doesnt know what to do with Nyx and the recent feedback doesnt help really. But seeing as DE apparently actually just wants to flush CC in general down the toilet with recent designs (new bosses are all bulletsponges with total ability immunity from what im reading? Stopped playing before the new fortuna boss came out) maybe turning Nyx into a DPS frame is the right idea. Yikes.

    Ya dunno, now that the skins are out maybe theyll look at metrics again and if less people are playing the frame maybe just maybe theyll have another go. If the same or more play all is fine in Nyxland. Its prolly not a priority either way. But maybe as demanded by the community there will be some number tweaks to absorb again, oh boy. Maybe now itll be a good nuke and you can press 4 good (Spoilers : No. Absorb cant be too powerful since Nyx is a "CC frame" you see)

    Im amazed this stuff still manages to trigger me so hard. Sorry, peace out >-<;

    This. Plus anything but a bursa, bombard or corpus tech takes ages to kill anything. How can you play Nyx for any length of time and not notice that enemy vs enemy dps is crap in general and the primary use for mc is to get eximuses or whatever out of the way and youre better of using, you know, GUNS to kill stuff instead of waiting around for mc targets to slowly do it. Different strokes i guess. But yes the HUGE DPS LOSS apparently warranted gimping one of Nyx strongest CC tools. But who needs CC nowadays anyways right

  9. Old Passive + Chaos was confusion+disarm in a wide range. Powerful defensive tool imo but bad for reasons (DPS LOSS ON MC TARGETS!11!) so not anymore. Loki has the same thing, its called radial disarm and everyone likes it, how curious.

    I dont have much hope (ive read praise for the lame ineffectual, weak miss chance passive - the one which has to be disabled to work right with absorb) and cant be bothered to get triggered by this botch of a rework anymore (quit playing, Nyx was the only fun to play frame for me) but if im getting this right theyre gonna push Nyx skins soonish, so maybe theres a chance for some positive development.

     

     

  10. New passive is boring, ineffectual and straight worse than the old disarm. I dont see DE cranking it up to a point where it would maybe actually be useful, like the suggested 60% and even then its worse since its for only Nyx. Its strange to me that everyone seems to be in agreement that Lokis disarm is good and yet the same thing is bad on Nyx? Whatever.

    Added aggro for MC targets, yes

    New iteration of psychic bolts is super clunky and i agree a corrosive modded weapon can do it better. I still think the armor debuff is a gimmick shoehorned in there because corrosive projection but if it was actually spammable without the awkward press to disable it would be actually somewhat powerful and worth building into but we cant have that on Nyx, too much power!

    Disguise side effect for Chaos sounds neat but prolly wouldnt be done since you can stretch it to like 30 secs duration with a much lower cooldown, almost Loki style perma invisibility. Small invisibility or evasion boost sounds good too.

    Good old Absorb. Id agree it needs an additional window. Id be content with it being a panic button/defense ability, but now its just a confused mess. People want it to be a proper nuke but we cant have that on a CC frame (!) so add some boost to it but not too much and it needs to cost alot of energy since its so powerful....i dont even know.

    But since DE itself is now on the "CC sux and is outdated" (see link, many lols) train maybe everyone will finally get their wish and one glorious day Nyx will just be revamped into a DPS frame (since we have so few of those) where MC is a direct damage spell to one target, Bolts is dps to multiple targets, Chaos is aoe dps and Absorb is the big room go boom 4 nuke and then everyone will play her alot, hooray

    To clarify on your absorb suggestions: Everything inside the absorb bubble would get the reduced visibility? And by "Light" you mean just straight daylight?

    The reduced visibility would be cool but the light thing sounds abit Equinoxy and also wouldnt that mean that the ability would just be plain weaker indoors in general? 😛

    Absorb i dont even know. Some numbers are different, it costs more energy? Everyone wants to turn it into a nuke apparently. Spoilers: it will never be as potent as any nuke the dps frames got

    Warning, rant: If you want something which can nuke theres dps frames, play those. Why does Nyx need to become one too, again, theres lots of dps frames already, play those! Even if youre into the "CC sucks" meme is some variety allowed please? Theres plenty of dps frames PLAY THOSE if you want dps! God forbid we have something different which doesnt fit the "meta" (id argue Nyx is, or to be precise was very meta but eh, if youre only used to pressing 4 i guess not), it must be destroyed and crammed into the dps mold. One of us, one of us. Rant over

    The passive should be reverted, the changes to leashing should be reverted and there should be some aggro manipulation worked into the skills instead of these corrosive projection and moar dps gimmicks. Im not very happy with any of the rework and i hope DE will return to it...in two years or so -.-

    Again : Random tiny miss chance for only Nyx is better than an area wide enemy disarm? Someone explain that moon logic to me someday (And no enemy dps against each other is crappo in general, not worth the exchange). As a compromise you could just give mind controlled enemies (to be clear, enemies affected by 1) their guns back, no need to gimp the entire set.

    2.Psychic Bolts: Imo the armor strip is just some ill fitting gimmick they threw in there because all the cool kids use corrosive projection. Currently since absorb damage is (and always was and always will be since they obviously dont want to make it a nuke on par with any other dps frame) bad theres nothing else worth building into strength for. Youre sacrificing or at the very least compromising everything else to be a one trick pony armor debuffer. Toss that out again, revert to spammable bolts with guaranteed rad proc and give affected enemies a higher aggro rating

    1.Mind Control: New leashing bad, id agree. Guess that was their solution to mced enemies not being controllable and all the complaints related to that (currently all you can do with ANY friendly is tell them to follow/stop following. Id imagine any solution to give friendlies more indepth instructions with markers or whatever to be super fiddly and impractical in battle anyway. So whatever, its not needed for mc targets, why, stop pls). Just revert it, let em roam freely again and add a higher aggro rating to em too. That way even if theyre being completely useless and just taking cover or something theyd at least draw fire more or would be a more reliable distraction in general.

    3.Chaos: Yes

  14. Disarm is superior to anything imo

    Im really struggling to post this since its a horrible compromise and waste of a slot to get something back which should be a given - But in theory one could take that useless chaos augment (Chaos sphere. Maybe the psychic bolts one too) and change it to apply the old, superior disarm so that everyone whos so happy with this new Baruuk passive (it really is lol) can keep it. I need a shower now i feel dirty and degraded

  15. 1.Mind control : Every recent MC suggestion basically wants to turn this into making MC targets specters. Fine i guess? Problem was and is always their damage just doesnt hack it unless youd boost it thru the roof and like mentioned they cant be controlled anyway - and on top of that with the changes to leashing theyre now glued to you so unless youre right in the middle of the brawl they do even less now. Theyve always been useless for damage and only useable as a distraction or to just get the affected target out of the way.

    (What id want: Revert the leashing so they roam more again, add an added threat/aggro bonus to affected units so they become higher targets)

    2.Psychic Bolts: Kinda like the suggested mechanics of that actually. Id exchange the armor strip (Corrosive Projection is meta, if we give that to Nyx everyone will play her!) for higher aggro on affected targets and readd the rad proc aswell. If its refreshable with chaos that would negate it not bein spammable anymore somewhat

    3.Chaos: Sounds great but also super broken. Make everything affected totally ignore everything except other hostiles and each cast expands the range and gives overshields? Yes pls. I can already hear the speedfarmers crying when the whole map is locked down and fighting itself XD

    (In all seriousness, they had at least the wisdom to leave chaos the hell alone somewhat, doesnt need changes)

    4.Absorb: Again this fixation on damage. Itll never be as good as miasma or any other aoe the dps frames have unless boosted thru the roof and with the timid changes they did they cleary showed they dont wanna do that. Stop trying. Whatever. Enjoy the invuln on demand, altho iirc now it costs more energy? (Havent played in a while, forgot)

    (Absorbed damage should be converted into knockdown duration of enemies in range. 1 second added kd for every 5k damage, something like that)

     

    Its telling when alot of these suggestion threads dont even mention the passive. Biggest screwup of this "rework" - huge loss to CC capability replaced by some ridiculous, miniscule, laughable, unoticeable rng miss chance which totally gets bypassed by aoe. I hope everyone who cried that enemies get disarmed and lose their precious dps against each other or whatever silly reason is happy. Revert it

    (i said myself posting feedback is useless because nobody in charge reads this anyway, but hey, was bored and felt like it >:p )

  16. Sorry to be pessimistic but theres nothing to be gained by posting feedback here. Theres been plenty of actually good (not "moar dps, absorb isnt miasma yet") feedback threads, all ignored.

    Theres two new frames and railjack on the way. They already revised this "rework" with the (bad) leashing change to mc and the (meaningless) damage changes to absorb. They did their dues to satisfy the screaming twitch hordes or whoever asked for this hot mess and now theres more important stuff to be worked on. Forums moved on too, nobody cares anymore, its not news anymore.

    We got this because their metrics showed a tiny playerbase for Nyx. If youre not satisfied, dont play the frame. Maybe if theres a further drop they get back to it, if theres even resources for that tho - or if they even care to begin with and not because steve got spammed on twitter with stuff like "nyx bad moar dps" (Sometimes id actually want to know what exactly caused this "rework"). My personal opinion of course too

    Ill prolly come back for railjack to play the story stuff or anything major that isnt the umptheenth ghoul alert but otherwise im done. Every other frame just bores me, none other plays like Nyx (Hit 3 and take a leisurely stroll thru all the infighting. Killing stuff?

    Its not even that the frame is unplayable now, but these ill thought out changes are so obnoxious and pervasive (Used chaos, enemy still has his gun now, enemy shoots me since new evasion passive is garbo. Thanks. Used MC, enemy makes a beeline straight to me and stands next to me doin even less than with the old leashing/AI. Thanks alot. Bolts dont have the rad proc and arent spammable anymore and since im not str built since thats opposed to chaos and MC - the things Nyx is good at - and absorb isnt a damage skill but utility and USELESS FOR DAMAGE i just made the enemies green for 6 seconds. Wow! But hey id just need to sacrifice everything else and i could do corrosive projection! Thank you) playing just made me salty and i got plenty other games which dont do that.

    No dude disarming is bad because then the enemies cant do their superior damage (ps this is sarcasm)

    Regarding OPs question with Chaos use:

    I guess the only reasons you'd maybe want to pub is maybe arbitration defense (absolutely possible to solo but such a drag) and excavation (excavators die so easily, ya dont pay attention and one droned dude takes half their health) and maybe sorties (if youre not full on trash rivens and endo). When i still did those before i had said trash rivens and vitus coming outta my ears and then a trash rework came around which made me so salty i stopped playing i actually never had anyone complain at me in arbies. Really good pubs on average whereas in "normal" pubs you could get the occasional ADHD 24/7 speedva hydron farmer mewling at you for using chaos (oh no now i gotta run all over the map like a mong to kill those chaosed enemies, diverting me from my routine of running all over the map like a mong to kill not chaosed enemies).

    So if you for whatever reasons pub a normal starchart mission i guess be nice and dont spam chaos until theres actual pressure. Its stupid but the OGOGOGOG FAST subset wont pop an artery and everyone is happy. Better advice would prolly be if you actually need to pub anything sub-arbie on the starchart for any other reason than its a boring defense alert or something and having other people around might be entertaining up your Nyx game brah. Or do what you goddamn please and ignore em. Its pub games after all, if they wanted something specific they shoulda used LFG.

    On higher levels everyone understands the value of CC in general in my experience. Anyone complaining at you there if you use Chaos well is prolly stupid.

     

     

     

  18. Good lord, if that`s the kind of feedback DE was basing this rework on im not surprised anymore. Not talking about the OP but some of the responses. Literally "CC sucks, more damage"

    My last two cents on this: New passive is trash, if i could get one thing id have this reverted. Not bothering making an effort post laying down the reasons why again, not interested in further discussion again. Theres been alot of good feedback threads by alot of people all obviously ignored for the "i dont play Nyx at all/i played for 10 mins but i think she should have more damage" crowd. I dont get it. Saryn and Banshee already exist, you can play them now. Must be all the Nyxes constantly joining Hydron farms and slowing things down. Well whatever, damage is done. Peace out

    Ok something like a corpus tech can actually kill stuff. My arca plasmor (or anything but a rank 0 mk1) can kill stuff even better and id rather have that corpus tech along with all his buddies disarmed so that they cant shoot me, my team or any objective. By your logic that would make dodging stuff very easy so thats the best thing, right? Additionally a disarmed enemy would run up to other enemies and tie them up (the melee brawl, like you said) which additionally made em easier to mop up. Not the case anymore. This is a huge loss in CC ability in exchange for the weak damage even the better enemies can do. Is there a secret Nyx pacifism thing i dont know about which ive been violating all this time by using guns and killing stuff myself?

    Prolly shouldnt have replied to this in the first place since im arguing for a lost cause anyway. 2019 is gonna be busy with actually important new stuff like Railjack so i doubt there will be anything reverted or anymore relevant changes with Nyx. She got the rework everyone apparently was screaming for, be happy now

    With the old disarm passive the bombard maybe wouldnt have his rockets anymore to begin with. And you prefer something which is by your own account so unoticeable it might aswell be bugged over it? I disagree. Thats all.

  21. The leashing changes seem to have made mind controlled enemies worse.

    Several times id mind control an enemy in a chaosed pack and instead of staying there and attacking like it used to be theyd make a straight beeline to me ignoring everything. So since Nyx is squish despite this fabulous new evasion passive and i really dont wanna be next to anything i now got some useless dude next to me whos gonna attack me as soon as mc runs out if i dont kill it.

    Wo asked for this. Even in a defense a "guard" next to me or the objective is a potential risk and less effective. I want them away from me or the objective drawing aggro somewhere else in that case. Was the argument that they dont stick to you if youre more mobile and so theyre not with you doin their amazing damage? This might be a difference in playstyles but i cant for the live of me imagine babysitting a mind controlled target for any lenght of time in any mission where youre not somewhat stationary/around the same place. Mayyybe if its a bursa id keep it around for abit but anything else? Painfully painfully slow and useless for anything but a temporary distraction. Youd have to give them a damage increase well beyond what we got now to make that effort worthwhile.

    And even if id absolutely want a mind controlled target at all times its not like you cant just release your current one, move on and get another at any time you want. Oh no my Eximus isnt here if only it was leashed to my back. If your current crop of enemies doesnt include a higher level enemy you maybe are fine killing them on your own. If theres one with them hello new friend. Maybe some people get really attached and give em names, i dunno.

    My understanding of MC was always a "fire and forget" thing. MC a big boi in a crowd so theyd all turn to him, optimally a punching bag like a bombard or gunner. MC a bursa so he gets off me and starts driving all over the place causing mayhem (well not anymore). Yes, sometimes they just took cover, sometimes theyd run around like chickens, mostly they didnt do much. What they always did was draw aggro, optimally kill a few enemies and then die. I musta been doing it wrong, having a mindcrontrolled "guard" sticking as close as possible to you with their amazing amazing amazing damage is much better apparently.

    This "rework" is all kinds of bummers. But is anybody at DE reading forum feedback threads anyway or is the main channel nowadays steves twitter. Big Meh 😐

  22. Beginning to feel like a broken record but regarding the Passive, it should just be reverted. Its bad and Arcknight9202 pretty much put down all the reasons why. Big downgrade in CC capability in exchance for a puny miss chance (we still dont know the exact number, doesnt feel that high) and that amazing precious damage from mind controlled targets.

    Hightened threat for Mind Controlled targets sounds good. Also them getting their weapons back sounds interesting, id make it default actually - no need to gimp the passive anymore and you get your extra damage from them, win-win. The suggested extra control stuff sounds...fiddly i dunno. Id revert their leashing and make them roam more again altho that might be down to preference (i dont need an ineffectual guard sticking to me i need that fool out there causing a ruckus). They sure should go farther away again if a higthened threat thing would be implemented - whats the use of em drawing aggro while theyre right next to you

    Psychic bolts "marking" enemies sounds like a really neat idea, you could even retain the current armor debuff. Theyd be higher priority targets with less defenses, sounds useful

    Absorb. I dont get this urgency of having it do more damage. Its already an invulnerability/proc scrubber/mobile shield on demand and with assimilate you can even (slowly) walk around and stuff. ITS AN ULT IT NEEDS TO DO MOAR DAMAGES OMG OMG DAMAGES DAMAGES I NEED TO KILL STUFF FASTER ON HYDRON. I think i mentioned it somewhere already but if you insist on DOMAGES make it do void damage so it could have some utility vs sentients or prolong the knockdown effect maybe even according to the amount of absorbed damage. Being able to knock down an entire room for seconds (maybe one extra second per 10k damage, i dunno, im not paid by DE to do math/fine tune) sounds pretty good to me. As to the suggested pull, i dunno. If you dont kill stuff youll come out of your bubble in a throng of new friends, sounds very risky.

    Or just say eff it because CC sucks anyway and make everything a version of "room go boom" and corrosive projection. Thatll make everyone play Nyx

     

  23. Usually dont like armchair deving and i was fine with how Nyx was before (absolute minority here i guess) but to be constructive instead of just saying how S#&amp;&#036; sucks (pardon), some suggestions:

    1) Mind Control: Shooting the mc target to make it do more damage is kinda interesting.

    • CC Variant: The MC target should maybe become a higher priority target for all other enemies
    • Damage Variant: Instead of shooting it you could maybe "charge" it up by expending more energy. Should be a decent tradeoff - you absolutely want that sucker doin more damage you spend more energy and expose yourself by standing there and charging

    2) Psychic Bolts: I have absolutely no idea.

    3) Chaos : Fine as is (yea i just remembered how too much range used to be kinda bad because you couldnt recast it when some faraway enemy was still alive, fun times. An example of a good fix)

    4) Absorb: Fine as is. Maybe make the reflected damage void damage so you could scrub sentients with it or make the knockdown effect on enemies more prolonged

    New passive is just worse than the old one. Old passive enabled spammable disarms (0% ranged hit chance vs Nyx, the team and objective), now its some tiny miss chance for only Nyx. "But MC targets losing their guns was bad for damage!" - yeah woopdiedoo, got your wish, a reduction in CC capability for that precious amazing damage mind controlled/chaosed enemies do vs each other. This should just be reverted.
