  1. I would prefer that the repercussions of this event didn't impact anything outside of Archwing missions.  Instead, the hubs are mostly decidely NOT Archwing-related.  So, people are punished in the regular game for not playing Archwing. That's bullS#&$.

oh well i'm just referring to opinions on archwing as a game mode, the on-going event is its own little thing.

though i agree, archwing probably wasn't the best choice of combat for such an event, at least in its current state.

  2. IMO Archwing plays exactly like flying WFs. I really dont see how people can hate it really. It basically just a mission type, and itc basically the same game/grind youve been playing.

Why are people acting like it needs to be a full fledged stand alone game? I dont understand this. Yes, WF was bare bones in the beginning, but AW isnt meant to be a standalone F2P game. Its simply a mission type.

from what i've observed people seem to think AW is too much of a standalone mechanic, not too little.

  3. As far as I'm concerned, it's like that on purpose.

People hated it when archwings used the stats of the frames, and now they hate it when they don't. So people are going to hate either way, and stats not carrying over is the lesser of two evils there.

And saying "that's all it has" in reference to gameplay being intuitively and mechanically similar is massively misleading. That's a huge amount of similarity.

    again similarity =/= connected

    not the same thing.

and the minor stat shifts from frames did not remedy the amount of disconnect occurring with this new game mode. there was and still is an enormous gap between the archwing mode and the rest of the game.

  4. I'm honestly still not sure why people insist Archwing is so separate from the rest of the game.

Same game modes, same modding system, same movement, same movement controls, same damage types, same AI behaviors, same everything. You can shift seamlessly from one mode to the next without even having to change the way you've practiced moving and modding your character.

I'm still waiting on the combo missions though. That one in the archwing quest was really cool.

Having the similar aspects is hardly the same as being connected.

As similar as archwing is to rest of the game mechanic wise, that is all it has. It has it's own frames essentially, own weapons, own mods, its a completely separate game mode with very little connection/interaction with the rest of the game.

  5. The main reason I have been disappointed with the Archwing content is that it is too separate from the main game. Instead of feeling like an extension of the original gameplay, it is separate enough that it may as well be an entirely different game.

DE has always focused on the "Space combat sans spaceship" aspect of the Archwings. But the way they operate, they may as well be spaceships. The small amount of crossover from your Warframe stats and mods was not enough, and then they removed even that. So even though it looks like you are a Warframe wearing a jetpack, it does not feel like it. They may as well have given the Liset guns and made that the new game mode.

I seriously doubt this will ever happen, because it would mean redoing or undoing most of what they already have, but there really needs to be far more crossover between normal and Archwing gameplay. Let us use our normal guns and melee, let us use at least a couple of our Warframe powers, etc. Adding more missions that transfer from one to the other would be nice, too. Like the last Archwing quest mission, or something like using your Archwing to infiltrate a ship because your Liset cannot get close enough.

Archwings are not characters on their own, they are a piece of equipment used by the Tenno. And yet DE has been treating them just like Warframes, with their own stats and sets of powers. I really want to like playing Archwing missions, but it lacks the connection to the rest of Warframe that it really needs. That, and it needs way more mission variety.

    This essentially.

When archwing was announced I was expecting it to be a fun new extension of the gameplay we already had, except now we got to explore space. But instead of receiving some sort of extension of what is a very fantastic game, we seemed to have been given this entirely new game mode that is barely interlocked with any aspects of the presiding game. Our frames don't matter, our mods don't matter, our weapons don't matter, nothing outside archwing has any real use in archwing.

To me archwing in its current position is just a mini-game for when you are really bored and want to do something new for a change. And even then I'm discouraged because then I'd rather hang out in relays, either way I'm not getting anything done for the main game, at least in relay I can have fun conversation.

  6. Oh don't worry. The grind is nowhere near over.

And now I've got Nova Prime to farm for myself. Oh joy.

At least I got the Chassis on the first try. I despise Survival.

Edit: Loki Prime still avoids me like the plague.

i can't even imagine the pain that'll be, the new prime stuff probably has like a .0000000001% chance to drop.

i feel you on survival though, i used to not mind it but then i did 60+ runs for loki chasis and it became my most hated mission type.

  7. Pretty neat thing you're doing here, I'd volunteer as tribute as well if I wasn't so confident I'm a tragic player. Though if needed I can be dragged in as some proxy.

But on another note, my list of desirables is:

    mag prime systems

    nyx prime chasis

    nyx prime systems

(yup all i want for christmas is nifty prime frames ;-;)
