Tridolon hunts are going exactly as before? Tridolon hunts take *substantially* longer since going to retrieve lures takes *substantially* longer. Maybe they're the same speed in a group, but solo? You're kidding me right?

Open world is working as it has before. Working does not equal fun. There is significantly more travel time to Open World Missions now. The time to cross the map in Plains of Eidolon has gone from ~6 seconds up to over 20. Per mission that's 4-6 times you're crossing the battlefield to get to objectives, and with each mission that leads to a significant amount of time that's wasted idly coasting along. Minutes. Per mission. Do a hundred bounties? That's an extra hour and a half spent flying around, where you didn't need to with Itzal.

They are still going regardless, longer or not, removing blink did not kill that content and it isn't a proper example of something being ruined. Things taking longer or shorter periods to do is arbitrary, anything can take longer or shorter times to do in this game.

Any semblance of a good time in:

    Tridolon hunts...

    General Open-World missions...

    Archwing pursuit...

Or pretty much anything that gives you a big open space and requires you to move across it, since every archwing is now little better than a brisk walk.

I don't play this game to spend 5 minutes running through huge empty spaces to get from one mission objective to the next, I play this game to actually play those mission objectives.

Archwing combat is still useless just like it was before. Removing blink doesn't make archwing more useful for combat. There's a reason why nobody plays Archwing missions, and that's because archwing combat is miserable.

What does archwing combat consist of now? Going to the veil, bashing your head into a asteroid for energy, and then ramming yourself into enemies while spamming invulnerability and holding down the trigger for 20 seconds to kill them? Does anybody even play any of the actual archwing missions? Removing Itzal blink and replacing it with a useless tether did literally nothing to improve that.

Giving universal blink and removing Itzal blink are not dependent on each other. Universal blink is a great idea, not arguing against it. Removing Itzal blink though took a bunch of mediocre content and made it even worse.

Tridolon hunts are still going as they always have, as is open worlds, and Archwing's functions in combat was again not particularly shifted by anything DE has done within the past year, mildly improved perhaps by the universal blink but still minimal change.

Your grievances seem misplaced at best if not fully misinformed.

"Something better is coming" doesn't excuse them breaking it now.

I'm sorry but what did they break? To my awareness they've only done like two notable changes to Archwing in the remote past which was changing the 1 for Itzal and giving all Archwings blink, most of Archwings function in combat entirely like they have been for ages, just with an overall boosted mobility now that frankly fits them in better for Railjack content.

If you want to move fast use Amesha as your archwing and Naramon dash with Zenerik energy to cross the map. At this point it's faster than Itzal since the Nerf.

If you want to be invulnerable to AFK use Amesha as your archwing.

If you want to be able to do Railjack missions and not die in 1 hit use Amesha.

Literally the only reason to ever use Itzal any more is for cosmic crush on Eidolons and for cosmic crush while farming razorback APUs...

It went from mobility being the only thing archwing is good for in the open world to nothing that archwing is good for in the open world. Unless you're still early on the focus tree in which case you use an archwing and movement in the open world is just miserable.

If you want the fastest archwing for map travel it is still Itzal, that is all I have stated.

Every other example is irrelevant because as I just notified you, DE doesn't consider their combat/kit designs where they want them to be and are actively changing them as we speak. Their current state is temporary and not where the official designers of this game want them to be for the current state of the game.

Well probably Itzal not that bad for open worlds, but I don’t want use those underdog there, because my frames offer much better utilities. So we need it inly for fast traveling.

And Itzal is still the fastest Archwing so still optimal tool for fast travel ontop of being good quick looting in open zones as well, it has not lost its place there.

In regards to Railjack we were already informed late last year that Archwing was getting a major overhaul in the future because DE doesn't agree with their current state for Railjack and want to change them so they compliment the mode better. DE doesn't agree with the current state of Archwings for combat either.

I understand and like the logic of why DE did this. But I don't like the way they did it. Just beefing up stats won't work. I would prefer them to be tankier, yes, but where most of their threat comes from their equipment and "abilities" then just a stat saying they have x more health.

While more intelligent enemy encounters would be nice we have to be honest in that enemies still die far too fast for improved ai/tactics to matter, even within railjack scaling. Whether one tapped or CC'd or just dealing with stealth frames there are just so many methods to instantly invalidate the units that the time spent on such custom behavior would be wasted.

Say it with me kids: We can fight these guys, it's just not enjoyable.

I can put together a loadout that would trivialise Veil Proxima. That doesn't mean it'd be fun, or that there are no problems with how things are currently. I'd personally rather Warframe not be a game where you win missions from the Arsenal screen.

I mean they're generic enemy mobs that you handle in a generic enemy mob killing fashion, not sure they deserve any special attention on the front of enjoyment in that regard. guess they could be tankier for more engagement potential though some clearly might take issue with that.

I'm going to make a guess and say you don't play with people you know IRL, or your friends list and clan is filled with randoms you don't really care about. If that's the case, then i can see where are you coming from. But some of us play with people we actually know or care, and if you want to play on your own from time to time, it's nice to be able to avoid those 'GO AWAY, I WANT TO PLAY ALONE' situations, because not everyone takes that nicely.

If this person is actually someone you care about and I assume inversely cares for you then you shouldn't be afraid to tell them when you need some down time and be open to sharing that kind of basic level of communication, and if you do feel that way you need to explore how healthy a relationship you have to that person that you're afraid to be honest with them on such a matter. if you need to jump through loops of deception and secrecy with your friends to keep that relationship working odds are that's probably not a very healthy relationship to be in.

If you actually read the post, or have been hassled before you would know some of us shouldn't have to be forced into a corner to essentially tell someone to eff off.

Some people dont take no for an answer....have you ever seen a guy get pissed for getting turned down at a bar or club lol

Then you ignore those people because they probably aren't healthy or worth being around to begin with.

I agree overall the exalted weapons have to be looked at again. Not gonna lie my Baruuk is pretty decent currently as well lol

tbf baruuk probably has one the better end exalted weapons right now, arguably the best in the melee category now if we're being honest, with valkyr, excalibur, and wukong following behind in that order.

truly i only think the exalted weapons for excalibur and wukong need all that much attention right now, as these weird inbetween melee cases that both perform less than some standard melee weapons can while also providing nothing of extra benefit/utility to compensate for such loses. baruuk as noted is thriving right now as an exalted frame, with his incredible aoe range on its own his serene hands are put above all other melees for the time is available as nothing can compare to that sort of aoe coverage, and its damage is more than adequate enough in tandem to make it a very worthwhile burst of aoe clear when earned, especially now with his new elemental augment. for valkyr, her claws come with immortality and innate lifesteal which easily compensates for the base claws not being incredibly overpowered on their own, though i will acknowledge this could use some adjusting such as with parazon removing immortality while hacking, and maybe even just allowing some of the exalted weapons passive to work when in gun mode, but she only needs at most qol upgrades. with exalibur and wukong their melees however lack distinct values outside just being melee tools, they don't have notable aoe like baruuks does, or power passives like valkyr, they're just melees but with sometimes lower damage values than other melees, excalibur i suppose does have his waves but after the range changes to the game they just don't go far enough and move fast enough to be a stand out attribute, and that's stuff worth addressing as it means their designs are just now inherently broken.

excalibur they could just increase the range and speed of the waves he sends out so far as gradual steps to test powering his melee up, for wukong i honestly think they just need to buff that ones damage though maybe keep an eye on the range he can acquire while doing so; I don't play wukong a lot but I have seen some crazy ranges for that staff and we don't need him becoming baruuk but with no trade offs, especially when the rest of his kit is already incredibly potent.

  11. We don't really know, he's just well...off somewhere plotting. We haven't seen suggestions of him coming back for the New War yet, but I'd hazard a guess he'll appear eventually in one way or another for his relevance to this whole plot beat, especially since he was arguably the first warning to the Lotus about this whole affair coming to pass.

We're pretty early into the new War honestly, we still haven't even had space grandma shown in-game yet, so there's probably plenty of time to bring more characters into the conflict.

Lately, there have been a lot more misses than hits though. Equinox, Excalibur (though the skin itself is not bad, DE screwed up with the colors and some details), Octavia, Atlas, Wukong, Ivara and now Nova (I am probably missing a few).

I think you may just not like deluxes.

By half decent, I hope you meant disgusting. That skin is absolutely awful, which is why I suppose people were expecting a good skin now, not a tennogen.

If DE is gonna screw up this bad again, it is better to not waste time with it in the first place.

DE should really stop teasing deluxe skins if they intended to change everything and release a half baked skin instead, kinda like most of the recent content actually. Don't show the concepts and we won't be disappointed twice.

Apart from the helmet it's an entirely fine deluxe with a very enjoyable secondary special effect to it.

But again there will always be a miss at some time or another for artistically driven things if you stick around long enough and see enough pieces, just gotta move along to the next.

  14. Bad skins happen, look at Ember, just gotta deal with it. She has a half decent first deluxe, and odds are someday she'll get a third, not to mention she has quality tennogen options (which frankly her coming deluxe could qualify for) to work with. If you don't like the look it's far too far in development to expect a change in course now, and why it took that creative direction change we'll probably never know but it's not an especially common occurrence so (at least to such a noteworthy extent) so I wouldn't consider it worth fretting over either as such a non-trend.

I'm not feeling particularly fond of the skin either, and if they don't do anything interesting with it's bundle items I can't say I'll have much interest in buying it - third deluxe ever to prompt such sentiments, but such is life. Everyone has a miss or two once in a while.

  15. DE didn't plan for this either I imagine, they're behind massively for Nightwave to the point they've had to recycle and extend several times over an intermission and its rewards and that's probably not something they were going for. The lack of forewarning isn't the best but DE probably in kind didn't think they'd get so woefully behind on Nightwave they'd need more extensions past what they had done.

This happening though is not due to a lack of effort, but rather DE just over extending themselves, a bulk of this miss is probably in thanks to DE devoting all their energy late last year into getting Railjack and Liches to us before the year ended lending to our next season not even being put into development until the start of this year. That said they are working on the next series now at least but it clearly needs more development time to finish than the perhaps month or less it's been in production.

If DE keeps nerfing everything, then what is the point of endgame? Might as well cap off everything at level 150 and be done with it

The point it always has had, to test you at the highest levels of gameplay/progression and otherwise provide challenge, without balance endgame doesn't exist and that means making sure tools stay in line and randomly over powered tools don't just get to exist outside the boundaries.

But on the comment of DE keeping to nerfing things, first this is a live service game and it will always need balance management as it will we always have new balance aspects introduced to it until they day it dies, secondly  DE hardly nerfs anything ever and that has become a sincere problem for this game, they could do with more attention to this games balance, not less. Melee 3.0 was a marvel of an update that brought life to near the entire melee category and involved blanket nerfs to the highest power levels to achieve, we need more of that.

It does. Umbra was a man so Excalibur appears male. Obviously they're not really either gender anymore, just a humanoid technocyte puppet, but the frame often keeps the original person's traits - Grendel was fat, Hildryn was a lifter, Saryn was tall, Nehza was short, and so on.

I don't think the lore means they couldn't, but does explain why frames have consistent secondary characteristics - they're all derived from the same person.

Correlation does not equal causation, a single case of us knowing the sex of a frame pre transformation doesn't really confirm any theories on the overall matter of what makes a frame look the way it does. We have no recorded history of all the hosts for each frame, and you claim there are trait ties between a frames host and their frames physique but we have seen quite literally none of the physiques of any of the frames hosts including that of Excalibur Umbras, you offer up height differences but that isn't an option for this game because of mechanical limitations that give all frames the same effective height, and I also already noted as well some frames do have rather extreme body types that don't fully match up with that of a human predecessor outside the vaguest outline of such. What kind of body type would one have to have to inspire something like Khorra? Nekros? Oberon?

The notion that they look they way they do because the Orokin (like most of humanity) like to anthropomorphize things, which goes hand in hand with how playfully they themed each frame, fits far more than this theory that these very bizarrely shaped only somewhat humanoid heavily themed post mutilation by ways of super virus to the point of unrecognizable innards frames somehow are still sticking to their hosts body type contrary to well...all of that. Even if we are just going off the baseline design and not a conversation on how they can be changed, it just seems a stretch to think their initial physical outcome is just them generally keeping to their hosts form given the entire transformation process.

If DE nerfes the riven for it, then I don't care about that, as long as they don't nerf the actual gun it self. The gun works fine without a riven, and once people see that, they jack up the price of the rivens, so its partly the players fault on one hand for nerfs. But as I said, as long as the gun it self doesn't get nerfed, it will be ok, as for the riven, that I don't care if it gets nerfed

DE don't base nerfs off the price of rivens so far as I'm aware, and the weapon is full well strong enough on its own to warrant a nerf entirely.

“Female Excal” - I was wondering if this topic has ever been talked about? Has DE ever said No to this idea?

It's brought up on the forums, less frequently with the devs, they addressed it once on a devstream with the response that there were no active plans for it at the time and that they'd rather similarly themed frames than just remodels because they believe they'd be more worth the effort, but that comment was a very long time ago and DE has gone back on aspects of that sentiment since, such as the development of deluxes.

DE have never made a definitive no to the notion, but mostly because this is Warframe and they recognize how often they flip on ideas they thought they would have never explored in years prior, but they've also yet to indicate all that particular an interest in pursuing this concept either. DE did initially design the game with gender variants in mind, but it was axed quite early due to their lack of upfront funding and the need to be as efficient as they believed was possible with content/frame/class creation.

It'd be an interesting area to explore though, I certainly wouldn't say no to a throwback male Ember skin, or a male Valkyr, having more varied options could be quaint in that regard, and for DE it could be an easier variant of deluxes they could sell for a nifty profit not to mention the cross application for tennogen it could achieve.

    19 hours ago, (XB1)KayAitch said:

For lore one of the later quests (called The Sacrifice) explains why frames are gendered, and an earlier quest (the Second Dream) explains why the frame's gender has nothing to do with 'yours' (for the slightly nebulous game story idea of you).

The lore doesn't really explain at all why they're gendered, it just explains what they're made of which are distinctly different things, from human to warframe they go through extreme physical manipulation and them appearing masculine or feminine is incredibly unlikely to be of relation to them maintaining their human form. You could similarly look at the infestation we have to see how little the disease cares to preserve the sex characteristics of their hosts species, hosts generally come away immensely warped and only vaguely reminiscent of their original form at best.

It isn't explicitly stated but the real reason frames look human is probably just because the orokin are the height of human vanity and of course would craft their war machines in their image, such as our species sort of does anywho ie all the humanoid mecha robot machines we fantasize about and put into film/television. If it was just the frames reflecting their hosts it gets iffy on its own anywho as frames tend to even while humanoid in overall design lean towards physical exaggerations and wonky distributions that just wouldn't work for a living person. (there is also room for discussion with deluxes which are possibly canonical as with the inclusion of some of their cosmetics in the leverian, of which physically alter the physiques of frames to a notable extent, much like a gender variant would)
