I do this all the time, since most would likely consider me "one of those people", so any interaction I have online is with people who are not on the 'same level' as me.

But this is just my interpretation, just as it is clear your observations about this other person are yours.  You cannot truly know a person through an online medium just from one particular encounter in one particular environment.  That is to say just because Person A acts one way here doesn't mean that is "the way they are".

You're right about one-time interactions not being an accurate representation of a person's personality. You're also right that some people act differently online than IRL. However, there are lots of people who would dispute the idea that you can't get to truely know someone over the internet. Just because someone acts a certain way under certain circumstances doesn't translate to one personality is right and the other is wrong, but rather that you know this person more/less than someone else does.

That being said, this person in particular made it very clear to everyone that their presence is strictly professional... in a game... While I can appricate that they take their position seriously, being unable to humanize yourself with others, even on the most basic level, should automatically disqualify you for a position where the sole purpose is to mediate and interact with said others. It just didn't make sense that this is the person who decrypts what people are ACTUALLY saying versus taking every little thing at face value, because let's be fair. It's a game. People are relaxed for the most part and it's the last place where you want to put on your professional game face. Obivously use discretion in what you choose to share, but in no way should anyone be expected to operate at a strictly professional level while "enjoying" a game.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that this is not the first time I've interacted with this person. There have been plenty.

  2. So just a little while ago I had the pleasure of chatting with a fellow player who, although consistant and concise, lacks the ability to humanize themselves with other members of the community. I found it a little odd, considering human nature makes us WANT to talk to other people and build relationships regardless of their duration, quality, or even logic.

As the conversation progressed (there was about 6 of us total who were major contributers to the conversation) I noticed this player was unable to understand the satire and sarcasm that was being expressed. At first I thought that it was a forced reaction, given their position, to act oblivious and get down to the nitty-gritty. So naturally I struck a private conversation with them to try and figure out what was going on (well, that wasn't the only reason. The other reason being they used their position to force my hand under the guise of non-compliance) and found out that it wasn't a voluntary reaction, but rather this person clearly doesn't understand human nature at all. I think 4Chan put it's best, this person was an actual Neet (personality wise anyway, they were what you'd expect a neet to be)

I found it disturbing that this person managed to get where they are, given they're sole purpose is to interact with fellow players and moderate an otherwise band of unruley people. They lacked the charisma that one would expect from someone in their particular position.

So I guess with this being general discussion, how many of you have had the pleasure of dealing with an individual ingame who makes it very clear in the way they act that they're incapable of operating at the "same level" as other players?

  3. I just want to clarify by saying that my main complaint with Ember isn't the damage, but the FX of  her ult.

IT'S BLINDING!! Dial it back, seriously. Every match with an Ember is just terrible and the asshats always choose the most obnoxious, bright colours because they know it's annoying and makes aiming and general gameplay impossible for anyone else in the match with them.

But to talk about damage... I just finished a round with two embers. Both leading in kills, neither ever firing a shot. I'd love to say I got a whole bunch, but unfortunately I was unable to see due to the blinding effects of their ults CONSTANTLY going off.

Makes someone want to start network manipulation in order to drop these players, seriously.

  4. Did her fourth need tweaking? Absolutely. But to completely change it and then make it more precision driven was the wrong direction. If you want precision, you have a primary, secondary, and a melee weapon for precision if you want to be rewarded for it. Aiming percentage, headshots, combo damage, etc. are all precision type "rewards". Powers are just that, Powers. They should look, feel, and act like something supernatural or above and beyond what is "normally possible". It seems the over riding issue with all of the "it's OP, nerf it" threads is that the powers equal "4 to win" which basically equates to map clearing. You want them to be more team oriented, silence the complaining, and still have them have that over the top feel and play? Simple, change the ranges, change the energy consumption, give it a recharge or cool down period, basically make it so that it is impossible to clear the map for an entire mission.

As for the 360 issue, leave it in. That adds to the fact that this is a power erupting from a character able to draw on those primal forces and not something so controlled it has to be aimed like a sniper rifle. AoE's are a standard part of warfare. It is asinine to think a faction as advanced as the Tenno would not use this type of warfare to fight. When I throw a grenade or use a M203 40mm grenade launcher, it doesn't explode in a cone or only cover a front arc, or only hit what I aimed at. It obliterates everything inside it's AoE. That's what it's for. Again, tone it down, don't change how it works or looks.

Please DE, stop changing things that are cool about the game to fit complaints and start making these signature powers you have given the frames fit the game instead. Mesa should not be a auto turret that renders the rest of the squad moot when she fires up Peacemaker, but to take such a cool power and basically just turn it into a glorified primary was the wrong approach. There are already enough primary weapons in the game.

I thought the same thing about adjusting efficiency (such as making each shot count as one energy) or making it last 10 seconds (mods increase this) and have a cool down of 1 minute or something, or even just changing the range, but the community had already spoken. At that point, there was no point in even making that argument anymore. This isn't to say that it's useless now, but you are right that there is nothing separating it from the primaries/secondaries, with the exception that you can precision aim with both the latter.

I feel Mesa will never be considered a "good frame" (same tier as Loki or Saryn) ever again, but that's just the way it is. Will I still use her? Sure. She's a tank. But will it ever REALLY be anywhere close to the same? Nope. Fell in love with peacemaker. Not just for the $&*&*#(%& range, but because of the animation, the feel, and the sheer usefulness of being surrounded and just pressing 4 to thin the crowd. Now, if you end up getting surrounded, be ready to use a revive or hope there is a big enough opening to escape.

Remember what DE said though... "She performs the way they originally intended now." What I find funny is that Mesa got nerfed and the whole community ejaculated simultaneously, but as soon as the news about Mag broke out, everyone went into a frenzy... Well you call for nerfs, and you get nerfs. That's how this game works. Once the ball starts rolling, they have to keep going to balance. This is definitely not where it's going to end. There will be PLENTY of nerfs in the future. Some you wouldn't even expect but since all the other frames were nerfed, this unsuspecting frame became OP by comparison.

The community will kill this game, strangely enough. What DE fails to realize is that they could simply lose the few players that cry about their toy not being the top pick, and pick up more. Tenno's are super soldiers. Just like the Master Chief, or Nathan Drake (comparatively to his competition) or even Mario. People don't want to be regular. You can do that in your every day life. You want to be the badass because it's an escape from reality. But yet, people keep asking for reality to be injected, slowly killing the game.

Just my two cents. I'm not mad about the Mesa nerf because she's still viable for me, but there were better options than an FoV 4th.

  5. While she is not as good of a turret as before she is amazing in a general build for solo work where you only want to use peacemaker to hit specific hostiles and that's it. Bit like the whole heavy gunner in front lancer behind I never used to use peacemaker because half the time she would shoot the @(*()$ lancer first this change allows me to target the gunner and only the gunner.

I appreciate your opinion dude, but I'm not really talking about Mesa's ult viability. Just discussing 360 AoEs in general.

Though I appreciate the need for skill over 4tokillall abilities, some frames with the ability to dive into a crowd, hit their ult and if not kill, stun(in some fashion) a group of enemies surrounding an ally giving you time to revive them before the next onslaught is just nice, and makes you feel like a bad***. I have been looking into new ways to play mesa more technically, and though I don't like my favorite lazy exp farming method gone (takes less time to do a grind, making it more efficient), I'll roll with it cause I love Mesa as a whole and want to explore more gameplay options, and will definitely try some new builds with her once the Update comes out. This isn't about agreeing with or disagreeing with the changes, wether a "nerf" or "boon" This statement is about accepting that things change, and I will roll with it and adapt as best I can as a player.

Tl;dr: I don't think all aoe ults should be replaced/removed, maybe toned down if it's such a big deal (similar to old Excal Javelin Nuke to what it is now) and/or maybe provide more of a status effect to it that lets you use your other abilities to finish groups off, making you work a bit more for it.

Sorry for the late replies, had to go grab a roast. Decided that was for dinner but didn't have one apparently.

To clarify I'm talking about 360 AoE effects. While I can appreciate that they're useful (So was Mesa's) they're not necessary and promote the wrong style of gameplay according to the mass of the community. The big argument during Mesa's review was her AoE was too big while some argued it was too powerful (it wasn't, by any means) and as much as I hated to, I had to agree. It was. After using Mesa's new ability, it's actually a breath of fresh air. Before, the frame was boring. I loved the art style so I kept using it, but the frame's ult was boring as hell. With the revamp, it's better than ever (while not pissing off every frame she plays with).

But think about it. She's rooted to the ground during her ult. It has a FoV AoE that gradually shrinks with use. While I really like this, there are other frames that can AoE instantly and still move. Take Mirage and Prism, Oberon and Reckoning, Saryn and Miasma, Rhino and Stomp, Loki and Radial Disarm, etc. It doesn't make sense to root Mesa and nerf her range/AoE while leaving every other frame mobile and deadly. While I can appreciate the boost in damage, it doesn't nullify the fact that she's immobile.

There is no reason, short of CC, to have a 360 arc on AoE. While anyone can appreciate CC, it usually immobilizes enemies which makes the frame OP.

  6. I see what you mean, but prepare yourself for lots of salt from other players man

It's fine. I understand where they'd be coming from, since I was in the same wagon, but really, this makes the game more fun. Adding challenge helps reduce the illusion of "grinding" and end game is just player opinion. No one is telling people they have to run T4's, they just want to.

Most ults don't do nearly as much damage as Mesa's peacemaker does hence the problem.

Ignore Saryn for that comment she is getting a rework and we have no idea whats going to happen at this stage.

But the damage wasn't the issue. It was the AoE it had.

  7. I didn't need to adjust my build, thankfully. Short of replacing Vigor for Stretch. Overall it's not nearly as bad as I once thought it was going to be.

But it brings up a very curious question. With this "nerf" Mesa is now a very technical frame, requiring skill to use. This is what the community wants, right? Skilled players reaping the benefits of frames, not everyone? So my suggestion is removing ALL AoE nukes from the game (Saryn, Oberon, Ember, etc) and replacing them with more precise ults.

It doesn't matter how useful it is, just remove it and replace it with something else. Let's be honest. There is zero reason why they should exist, but a million reasons as to why they shouldn't. No more AoE damage ults, just technical.

Disagreeing with this, but with the Mesa "nerf" makes your opinion invalid. The idea is to remove "4toWin" frames, which is only accomplished by removing all scrubbie ults.

  8. Unfortunately, it's not rare.

But don't let that hinder your admiration for them. It's all on your preference, after all. I worked my &#! off to get an Omega Golden Lotus Kubrow... You have no idea... But after it was done, and I had it... I didn't care. Now I changed it's pattern to Nexus, and made it multiple colours that I liked. Not to mention most armor covers the lotus pattern on it's head, so really it was stupid to even continue on that road.

Breed until you find what you like, then run with it. Spend a little plat and get the colour and patterns. You'll never be bored again.

  9. It would be cool to have a Grineer-esque warframe. Have abilities like that dog summoning crap or something. Appearance wise, Grineer are ugly, lol. One man's opinion. I'd never use it, but there are tons who would so I'm all for it!

  10. Buffing frames is not the direction DE is going, unfortunately. It seems that players are unable to comprehend that "warframe ult. abilities" means "Warframe ULTIMATE abilities" and thus, they want them nerfed because they're too ultimate? They want the game to be a shooter, nothing more.

I honestly feel at the rate the community is going, they should simply switch warframes to "power armor" and remove abilities altogether, and just call it Warframe: Generic Shooter Edition. That should make the cry babies happy.

  11. Ballastic Battery is where the most attention is needed. There is a lot of potential with that ability but it's squandered with it's current setup.

I've had an idea with it that it shouldn't be a single shot, but an entire magazine or clip. Hear me out first, before you flip out.

If you increase the amount of affinity or damage required to fully charge it, and give the damage a MASSIVE increase, you can make it useful. That should be affected by power mods.

Now, at basic, it only affects the next bullet fired. However, if you increase duration using mods, you can effectively cap it at an entire clip/magazine. You can increase it in increments like 5%, 25% 50% 75% and 100% of the clip/magazine of whatever weapon it's equipped or whatever way they want. Overall damage, however, is divided by the amount of rounds in a clip/magazine, this way it's ability isn't being squandered on low capacity weapons like the Vectis or Hek.

EX. Soma P has 200 round magazine. Say the damage was 5000 blast (as an example) it'd be 5000/200=25
Hek has 4 shells. Same damage at 5000 it'd be 5000/4=1250.
Vectis has 1 round. Same damage at 5000 it'd be 5000/1=5000.

This way, it favours fewer roung mags/clips, but is still useful on higher capacity weapons.

    Just my two cents.

  12. Have you actually played Destiny or have you just SEEN it? To be quite honest, you don't know what the hell your talking about.

Destiny is a far from polished game, and took about a year of screwing players over to get things right. Not only did it take a year one players have to experience what is an effective beta, we also had to shell out $100 and now another $40 just to continue playing. Destiny is ridden with game breaking bugs and exploits that ruin the experience.

The only thing going for Destiny at this moment is the art design, that's it.

Destiny's team knows next to nothing about balancing weapons, as entire weapon categories were constantly being nerfed to the point of being unusable or buffed to god their weapons. On top of that, it took Bungie months to fix balance and bug issues whilst constantly ignoring major problems in their Weekly Updates. From what I've experienced, DE has done a great job with interacting with the community, unlike Bungie who neglects almost everything the community has to say.

Gameplay wise, Destiny is beyond repetitive. You play the same mission that takes place on the same map with the same enemy spawns with everything that you do. Weekly Nightfall missions, which are supposed to be challenges, are just rebranded missions that you've already done multiple times over. How is going through the same missions over and over again fun? At least Warframe has randomly generated tile sets that add a little bit of variety.

Destiny falls flat on its face compared to Warframe. In my opinion, and many others, Destiny is a disgrace to the gaming community.

Dude, Destiny runs and looks better than Warframe. Apparently, "you don't know what the hell you're talking about."

You described a pay structure with Destiny that's common across lots of games. This isn't exclusive to Destiny at all, so you can really call it a strike against. It is still common practice with a lot of games, and it's the way it was before games like Warframe came along. You pay for expansions. How is paying the developer for expanding upon a game now somehow a fauxpas? Warframe does it for free because they know people will dump $10s to $100s of dollars into plat to get said items, instead of the tedious grind that's prevalent in both games.

As for the tilesets, are you kidding me? Warframe ISN'T repetitive? Oh, sorry, it's not AS repetitive. Yes, it is. Just like Diablo, rearranging the tileset doesn't count as "variety." Also, the artstyle (though a personal preference) is ugly. This applies across the board. Look at Chroma, and most Grineer-based weaponary.

You could also argue that Warframe has more weapons. That's great, except 85% of them are utterly useless, and the last 15% will get nerfed. It's a joke. People complain about the direction Destiny went but when you spend money on Warframe only to have all your work S#&$ on after the dev's decide that a bunch of random asshats on the internet know more about their game then they do, completely forget what makes their game great, and decides that the vocal minority should dictate how the game should be developed, you begin to see which is the bigger evil. At least with Destiny, when you spent money, you know what you're getting. Warframe? You'd be lucky if it wasn't wasted.

  13. Free does not equal good. My God, people are cheap.

Destiny looks intensely better than Warframe and is far more polished. It shares the exact same pay structure of most games available on PC and consoles.

As for story, who gives a rats &#!? You want someone to read you a story, ask your mother. I've never looked at a game on a shelf and said "Hey, this story sounds interesting!" It's usually, "Hey, this looks good. I'll try it out!" Story is an after thought. People only *@##$ about it because, like any game you overplay, gameplay gets repetitive and they want something else to look at, but within the same game to prevent boredom, and they want a reason to come to the forums and argue about what's canon and what isn't.

So story aside? Destiny has FAR fewer bugs. I don't care if I don't like your game, but if your game is better designed then it speaks leaps and bounds about it's quality. Destiny is higher quality than Warframe. Warframe is just easier to obtain. After that, people want validation and someone else to justify pinching pennies for them.

  14. Woah guys, I never said my friend or me sold anything.... Jesus. I was wondering. What would happen. Calm down.

So no sueing or charges? I think he payed from PayPal.

Yeah, I'm calling BS. Clearly, money changed hands.

  15. I honestly hope you get in a lot of trouble.

From what you're saying, you sold "your friend's" account because "he/she" was done playing. Key word here is it was SOLD. Now that "your friend" is deciding to get back into the game, "your friend" wants their account back?

First thing, that's called fraud. Unless your friend plans on purchasing the account back, your friend is technically scamming the person your friend sold their account to. I believe theres a word for it... fraud? Yeah, it's called fraud, and it's a federal offense.

Second, that's a really crappy thing to do. I mean REALLY crappy. This is why it's against the rules in the first place. "Your friend" is trash.

Third, it wasn't technically an "illegal" transaction. In warframe? Yeah, it's a bannable offense. But if your friend is frauding someone else, the buyer can contact paypal support, and the receiving paypal account will be locked until the full amount is paid back, and even then the account would probably be banned. Paypal doesn't give a rat's a** about Warframe's EULA.

I REALLY hope "your friend" gets EVERY little thing coming to them.

  16. I'm not going to go so far as to say the OP is a moron for bringing this up, but it really begs the question... why does it matter?

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against it at all. If DE decides they have the time for this while ensuring ALL other content is on track and going strong, sure. Why not. It won't make a lick of difference, but it'll help coddle the crumbling egos of race warriors. But if this is going to interrupt other content just so they don't get called racist by a bunch of cry-babies who can't help but find something to victimize themself, then we're going to have a problem.

You need to learn to let things go. Honestly, if they dropped a patch tonight that made all the NPCs black, white, asian, etc... in equal numbers, are you really going to feel better? The answer is no, you won't. Because in your head, you've already victimized yourself and anything done from this point on will seem like a patch on a bigger issue.

If DE does it, they're going to have a lot more problems. If DE doesn't do it, they potentionally lose 3 players. Take your pick.

  17. I'm not sure if this is the right section, but I didn't see one for companions... Albeit I'm very tired and may have just missed it.

Anyway, have you ever started incubating a kubrow only to have it hatch and see it's all light brown/grey with a crappy pattern? We all have! Yet, you have to wait for this genetic defect to finish incubating just so you can pay to get rid of it? Pfft. Even the game knows how crappy it is and you have to PAY someone to take it.

Anyway, what if there was an option to launch unwanted incubating kubrows out of the airlock instead of waiting for it to finish? Mind you, this is just an idea, there could be other options, I suppose. This one also offers a different view from the front of the liset, where you can look out and see thousands of failed kubrow bodies floating around in space.

    Just an idea.
