  1. I'm almost certain oxium isn't exclusive to oxium ospreys anymore.

I believe they can be obtained from canisters in Corpus missions but you have a better chance of shooting a target with a bow and arrow while blindfolded while also riding a horse than it ever dropping from those, and even if it does, it's only like 1 or 2.

  2. Even if we gain a new farming ground, Oxium is still difficult to obtain. You have to kill Oxium Osprey in order to get the resource, this wouldn't be so bad if they didn't try to kamikaze the instant you throw a pebble at them. Now in addition to that, they would blow up not only if they hit you but also if they hit a wall so you have to have PERFECT positioning in order to make sure it doesn't kill itself. That isn't easy when you have every other enemy in the room trying to shoot you causing you to seek cover so the Oxium Osprey would probably end up plowing right into the cover you just hid behind. THEN to add insult to injury, after you have been able to somehow kill the Oxium Osprey before it tried to make close friends with a random wall, you are rewarded with 1 Oxium. Congratulations, you're 1/600th of the way there.

Seriously, they need to change this because right now anyone who didn't farm Oxium prior to the change is basically screwed. They need to either:

    A) Multiply the amount of Oxium dropped by x5 - x10 (better consistency to compensate for low spawn rate)

    B) Allow it to drop from more than Oxium Osprey (like Infected Osprey)

    C) Change it from a "Unit Specific" resource to a "Planet Resource" like every other resource for better consistency.

    D) Reduce the amount of Oxium required in recipes by at least 50% (It would still be valuable but when you get about 8 Oxium per high level run, being told you would have to do it again 74 more times is rather insulting)

    E) Have Oxium Osprey drop Oxium even if they Kamikaze into a wall or you (How many times have you dodged a kamikaze dive just to have it blindside a teammate behind you? It happens more than you would think.)

  3. Yeah,I doubt the change over wasnt intentional(even if it was it probably would have been reverted by now),a theory which is amplified by the fact that Corpus just outright seems to refuse to even attempt invasion of those planets.

Ever since U14 rolled out and Kappa mysteriously changed ownership getting Oxium is seriously motivation breaking.

The low acquisition-rates of it always were a problem but as long as those "solutions" were around it was workable.

    Not anymore though.

You are either damned to hope for osprey spawns in high level def/survival/md(which might or might not happen)or run Baal for 8 oxium a shot(which still is faster for me than high level def/survival/md).

And Im saying that as a CB player, cant even imagine how dull and outright motivation breaking that might be for new players.

That last sentence couldn't be more true. As I have stated before I am a new player, I did some research on most of the warframes so that I could decide on which to pick up first and which to aim for ASAP and the Zephyr was on the top of my list. I discovered that Oxium was a drop from Corpus so (since I like the bow) I rushed the Cernos as my first weapon I ever crafted. Then I aimed for Baal, doing my best to try and navigate the confusing path for me to get to Europa ASAP and now that I am pretty sure that only 1 planet stood between me and the promised land, my dreams were crushed.

Also this change is something I thought they teach in Game Design 101 in the list of "What Not to Do". If your game has a resource component and you make certain resources harder to obtain than others, players WILL find the most efficient method in order to obtain said resource. You can not, and I repeat NOT simply remove the max efficiency method and think that it will fix everything. You have to compensate in some way because that "high efficiency" method may have been the source of 50% of the total amount of that resource gathered by the community, so removing it would in turn double the difficulty to gather the resource in question. I am dead serious that right now, I feel more excited whenever I am able to kill an Oxium Osprey than I am killing a planet boss.

  4. We could hit Oxium deposits as byproducts of Cryotic excavation, but Oxium would be harvested in much smaller quantities. 1-5 per drill tops.

So each drill would be about the same as a non-defence/ mobile defence mission. Seriously, the limiting of Oxium is just bad design. It's like the drops from Destiny, make something difficult to obtain and players would focus on the most time efficient method, simply removing the method won't solve the problem as you still have a resource which is now even more difficult to obtain. Even before the changed Baal, it would still take a long time to get enough Oxium for a single item, now it seems like you have to farm for days to get the same amount. For example, many warframes require a hefty amount of resources, (excluding credits) we can assume it would take about 5 hours to get enough, Zephyr requires 600 Oxyum so now you have to add about 4 days (if you're lucky) to get enough Oxium. This doesn't make the game fun, this is keyboard breaking levels of frustrating. Orokon Cells are the only other resource I know which drop in the single digits, and you rarely ever need more than 1 or 2 for any single item. They need to either:

    A) Give 1 or more missions like Baal

    B) Reduce the required amount of Oxium in crafting by 50%

    C) Increase the amount of Oxium dropped from 1-5 to 10-30 (or something like that)

  5. Or why does it have to be specifically from Ospreys? Why can't it be a resource drop like every other resource? It would at least make the drop a bit more consistent and not wishing this game had friendly fire when a team mate doesn't know how to dodge the kamikaze dive and you lose your chance of getting any Oxium from the Osprey.

  6. This is also frustrating for newer players who were hoping to be able and obtain a Zephyr warframe. I did the math and found I would have to go through Baal 20-30 times max to get the required amount of Oxium. Now with this change I would have to do that mission 60 times. This is a resource so rare that they can't simply remove the one good location to farm it and not expect a back lash. I seriously feel like farming Orokin Cells would be faster than Oxium and recipes usually only ask for 1 Orokin Cell, not 200 per part. I will admit, I am kind of new to the game, still trying to get the hang of some things (thankfully Metal Gear Revengence is a great teacher for the acrobatics) but I loved the concept of the Zephyr. It's really depressing when you have this all planed out, to obtain the Baal nav point and then get 600 Oxium just to have the next patch give you a right hook to the jaw and say that plan will no longer work.
