    Aye

Perhaps small percentile damage reduction sided with armour from the synergy?

I was thinking more along the lines of Hallowed Ground giving half as much armor as Iron Renewal currently does. When using Renewal on Hallowed Ground, it would double the armor bonus (to match current) and stay on you even when you move off of the Hallowed Ground. If this sounds like it would make Oberon too tanky, they can easily make it so that the armor from Iron Renewal doesn't stack with Hallowed Ground's armor. Effectively keeping what many people loved about the old Hallowed Ground while also giving it the new synergy.

This would make Hallowed Ground be able to not only be a key for synergy but also have its own strengths. Though it would be nice if the range was increased to match Reckoning.

Range in general is well needed for Oberon

That and giving back the armor to Hallowed Ground. If DE gives us the magic grass effect for it as well, all I would need to say is "Hey, the magic grass gives you armor!" and I swear people would be swarming to the grass like a Garen main in League of Legends :P

    Reckoning needs a buff.

Vs rad proc'd foes, it is a damage gain of some 500 - impact, one would think considering how reckoning works...which doesn't scale greatly

    I suggest thusly,

Boost its range to match that of hallowed ground

Turn the bonus damage to rad proc'd foes into multiplicative damage.

    Eg.

3x-6x damage multi on rad proc'd foes scaling with power strength

Last time I checked, Reckoning had a longer range than Hallowed Ground (Currently looking at my Oberon right now). Though having Hallowed Ground range increased to match Reckoning would be a welcome boost.

As much as i like the idea of Infinite Renewal... Limit it to 50 Meters so he's on parity with Trinity. People have to be close, but not cuddle range.

They have to cuddle up if they want Iron Renewal. Good luck finding the Hallowed Ground in the chaos of battle in time for that with its current range.

Before i begin, you guys came up with amazing tweaks with Oberon and made it to where people do not denounce my ability when i bring my Broberon with me (yet sometimes i ended up with 4x more kills and saves than they had in the past) and there is only a little bit i think is needed to fix, which my top two is the FX of hallowed ground and the armor debuff of reckoning when used in tangen with hallowed ground.

with hallowed ground visual FX, some of us, one of them being Rob from Agayguyplays, believe that the FX was going to have some of the new Earth remaster look added to it, a garden placed on the field by the energy of the fairy kind/druid/paladin warframe.  I was really excited by this shared idea because it would almost hit close to home with my King's Grove, a hallowed ground rework of mine.

The armor debuff to enemies, on the other hand is of a higher concern.  the debuff is not really that strong and is not very showable until you throw them to the ground 5-10 times. this makes the cost of 50 energy for hallowed ground and 100 energy (if nothing is done with effeciency) a very high cost.

well that is my feedback for the rework seeya.

Oh, also the drain of energy from oberon's renewal 20.3.1 is a little bit fast at increasing in energy drain.... maybe tweak it to increase in cost more slowly?

If the armor shred were based on the opponent's total armor instead of their current armor, it would be much stronger. I have commented this in AGayGuyPlays video and he mentioned that most warframe armor shred is from current armor. Though I believe there is an argument to be made that this is the only one which requires 2 abilities to be used in combination, let alone one of them being a 4 so it would cost quite a bit of energy, the most energy of any warframe to strip armor from their enemy.

Is there someone out there that is able to collate all of these ideas and form a voting table for us? It really would give DE the focus they need to make our community imput heard clearly. It may end up becoming the standard by which DE bases their future reworks. I think it would save us all a lot of headaches and for DE the hassal in combing through all of these seperate threads trying to find a consensus. If someone has an idea to add to the table, then they can ask to have it added. All we as a communit have to do is vote on each section of the reworks individually and or as a package deal per section.

There is a lot of noise and chatter going on. It can be difficult to keep track of it all. This way we have one central place to go to make our voice heard as a collective.

I am sure DE would be able to comb through the threads. Currently this thread has been working as Oberon's Rework Thread. I believe in DE that they can at least read a thread (though this is questionable since Xenogellion practically handed them a wonderful idea for Oberon's rework in one of his previous videos).

I really enjoy the rework, though i think the renewal duration time thing should be looked into. Oh and i know DE is working on it but i think hallowed ground should get like a border so it is easier to see. oh and i uh, can hallowed reckoning maybe get a look at with it's scaling with range?

ty for buffing oberon DE. :heart:you

Actually AGayGuyPlays has suggested that Hallowed Ground have magical looking grass (using resources from the upcoming Earth update) and possibly plants from the Silver Grove to tie in its roots to nature as Oberon is described as a Druidic Paladin.

because it is a simpler thing to do, not changing power mechanics, just changing how the numbers in existing powers work

Actually it isn't as much of a change as it is reverting it back to pre-rework mechanics while giving it the synergy bonus of the current mechanics.

  9. Just now, (PS4)TwilightGrim said:

    i ask 2 things:

-- they have power strength effect percent of health used, not number of orbs

-- have the armor debuff be effected by total armor and not current armor

why not increase Hallowed Ground's range so it can keep up easier with Reckoning and Renewal while also giving it half of Iron Renewal's armor buff and just let Iron Renewal work as normal without stacking with Hallowed Ground?

D_Scott has said they want to give Oberon a weekend and come back Monday.

Also they said 'We give them an inch and they want a mile.'

@[de]Megan I"m unhappy with this apparent backhandedness sounding response.

That's insulting to hear that from Scott. Even on paper Oberon's rework is incredibly flawed. Only moderate amount of energy, high amount of energy required, and the ability required to make your abilities decent has half the range when compared to the abilities it buffs.

Saryn isn't a good example. She changed from 4 spam to 1 spam. No one really uses the synergy DE added because in most circumstances it's just a waste of time and energy. Just like Oberon.

While I am not arguing that some abilities would always fall short of the others, what I was meaning to get through with mentioning Saryn is that at least they have a clearly defined use. The ability for Oberon which still falls short is his Hallowed Ground and sadly we're stuck spamming it so that his Reckoning and Renewal can actually do SOMETHING. Right now his shift in play style feels as annoying as trying to level up a melee weapon with a Limbo as a team mate spamming Catacysm + Stasis so only he can have fun.

Given up on giving feedback. My thread which was well thought out and structured just got mashed into this stupid megathread to be lost to the ages for all time. Just look at the reworked rework. DE are so far off the mark as to how to balance / rework this game I don't really see the point anymore.

Yeah, this seems more like an "Ehh, this should keep them quiet for a while" and not an actually well thought out process. I mean some of these problems even seem obvious just on paper. Yes it's nice Hallowed Ground got wider. No, taking away it's natural armor utility and forcing you to cast it to make Renewal and Reckoning slightly viable just makes it an extra step.

Let's take a look at Saryn for a moment, probably one of the best reworks so far. Each one of her abilities can stand on their own and have distinct uses while rewarding players to string them together AND has a way to regain energy. Oberon on the other hand has 1 AoE Heal and 3 abilities which on their own deal very little damage and spread Radiation... really?

Well im much more optimistic of his potential. You should be running Zenurik for any caster frame honestly which helps severely with energy upkeep. Stack that with energy siphon and efficiency. Also with renewal being a toggle now you can run rage feeding his energy very effectively and keeping his armor buff up which actually gives you more armor default without any power strength then a maxed out steel fiber would. With a maxed steel fiber you'd get 315 armor. With iron renewal base you'd get 350 armor as it gives a flat plus 200 base armor and that goes up with power strength. So you could get even more. So slap a steel fiber get that 315 then mod some decent power strength I'm guessing you could get iron renewal to buff you by like another 370 base armor that's 685 armor plus health Regen he's capable of being tanky now. Not to mention you can also give that armor buff to the team helping the squishy frames out A LOT and giving the Tanky frames even more of an edge. His reckoning strips 30% of the enemy's current armor. That goes up with power strength so if you can get it to strip 75-80percent off bat on first cast you should make a huge dent in their armor even stripping completely in like 3-4 reckonings. Honestly Oberon is a very strength heavy frame now and a lot of ppl are missing that. His HG status chance, armor buff, heal/HoT, armor strip, etc all go up with power strength. If you get his power strength up their he's very decent. The biggest issue is energy upkeep so efficiency, Energy siphon, Zenurik energy overflow, and rage are your best friends. I don't think that many ppl have farmed the focus to have Zenurik energy overflowed maxed that's probly the main issue. Thats mandatory for Oberon IMO he's gonna be very hard to manage otherwise.

But what I am saying is that you shouldn't NEED to have all this energy regeneration to use Oberon. Saryn can pop her own spores, Limbo and Octavia can regen energy passively, Nidus can get energy with his 1, these are warframes which are very combo heavy. They give energy and reward you for using their abilities together, so why not Oberon? I am an Oberon main, heck, he was one of the first Warframes I absolutely loved playing. But energy was not the only problem, I believe that there should be more of a reason to stand on Hallowed Ground other than "I need healing".

Bonus percentage armor on HG was removed in favor of Iron Renewal which is much much better as it gives a flat base bonus armor rather then percentage increase and now HG has radiation status procs innately within it's radius. So I disagree HG is more useful now. It has a wider range covers more ground, more benefits/synergies, wide and continuous radiation proc distribution and everything the first had including status immunity it's only missing the armor buff which was moved to renewal which you're gonna be casting the most anyways. The old 20% armor buff of the old HG was completely negligible and did little to nothing, more so nothing. Even with power strength it was no where near worth it. The new armor buff is a different story.

Yes he has more utility but it's just the "utility" comes at a HUGE energy cost which is extremely hard to keep up, his armor shred is made pointless if your team mates use Corrosive Projection (because in a team based game, having abilities and mods which can be detrimental to team mates is such a good idea), and Smite's "Scaling" is nullified when you remember ARMOR EXISTS.

  15. 1 minute ago, (PS4)destroyerchris1 said:

That's already been addressed. They're working on the visuals though that can mean anything.

That is correct. What people don't like is the scaling is so low it's non-existent, Hallowed Ground may be wider range but offers LESS utility (bonus armor was removed), his base stats are still too low (seriously, a little Armor and Energy would go a long way), and his Reckoning + Hallowed Ground remove from current armor and not total.

I'm doing a big write-up of all of this stuff right now. If you want, I'll link it here when I'm finished. It contains most of these suggestions along with a few others.

Has anyone suggested giving Hallowed Ground the bonus armor back? This could be half of what Hallowed Ground + Renewal currently gives. When you use both abilities together, they would work as they are now. The bonus armor (whine not the most) is meant to be an intensive for players who are even at high health to get onto the carpet so when you do cast Renewal, the bonus would be given to everyone. Either that or just Oberon has to be on Hallowed Ground for Renewal's armor buff to be given out.

You've listed pretty much everything I listed in the patch notes thread.

The reason I don't like Hallowed Ground is because it doesn't really do its own thing. It doesn't amount to much unless you use other powers on top of it, which just means you're needlessly chugging energy down.

I agree. Hallowed Ground has turned from an interesting AoE carpet of "Come at me Bro!" to something you need to cast to make your other abilities viable.

I LOVE THE RENEWAL! it's so amazing if built right!

We're not really critisizing Remewal. It's probably the best of his abilities now. What we don't like is the lowered damage of Smite with so little scaling that it's a joke, the lack of visibility for Hallowed Ground, and the backwards thought process for why DE thought Reckoning + Hallowed Ground should shred current armor and not total armor.

  19. Now that we have this update, I would like to update what I believe would get Oberon the changes he needs

    1) Make Smite scale off of enemy Health, Shields, AND Armor. This would allow much stronger Smite to hit decently hard for end game content.

    2) Make each one of Smite orbs deal ~7% (EACH, not total) of the initial target's Health, Shields, and Armor like above. You can boost this to 20% base if you make it so orbs can not hit the initial target. This would allow Smite to be more strategic, targeting the largest threat and using their bulk to their friend's disadvantage.

    3) Make Reckoning + Hallowed Ground armor shred based on the target's total Armor, not their current armor. You can keep the non-stacking loophole. This is because (for example), off the top of my head, 2 Corrosive Projections would screw over Armor shred of the current system. Let me explain. Let's assume the enemy has 100 armor for simplicity, 2 Corrosive Projections would turn that into 40 armor. Let's assume that we're shredding 50% of the enemy armor since most builds would be in high 40's to low 50's. The current system would leave the enemy with 20 armor left, meaning you might as well equip Corrosive Projection yourself. I HATE when your team mates can be detrimental to your Warframe's skill. But if this combo worked off of Total Armor, this would mean Oberon equipped with Corrosive Projection can remove 80% of armor BY HIMSELF! That is insane and would definitely give him a good role to provide as a tanky offensive support.

    4) Not only make Hallowed Ground easier to see,but please give it a small boost to those tho are on it or increase it's radius. We need an better way to keep team mates on the magic carpet which gives all team mates a weaker form of Nidus' Godly defense.

  20. 8 minutes ago, LokiTheCondom said:

It does actually, you need higher power strength. Max power strength (without Energy Conversion) needs like 4-5 casts

That means that the Armor Shred takes off a percentage of the target's CURRENT armor. I am confused why not total ??

  21. I believe that Oberon's rework HAS potential, but it as a LOT of refining required.

    1) Smite needs to scale harder. I have said it once and I would say it again, by the time scaling matters, it still does nothing.

    2) Hallowed Ground NEEDS to be easier to see but I would like to see (but not mandatory) a bit of a range buff to it as well

    3) Reckoning needs to remove Armor from the TOTAL armor. I am not sure whether or not it's a % of their current armor or it's glitched so it doesn't remove armor at all. Though a bit of a damage buff could be useful as well, at least with the Reckoning + Hallowed Ground combo.

    4) He could (but not required) to have a small armor buff by 25 or 50 points.

  22. I would say I miss the Armor given naturally by the original Hallowed Ground. I just wish Oberon has a method to gain energy (like many of the combo heavy reworks prior to it such as Saryn and Limbo) to become more consistent. Seriously, healing a heavily wounded friend can take white a bit of energy, which is effectively paying for their mistakes.

This takes me back, haven't seen that glitch in years.
I might still have a pic on an old harddrive of 18 Tenno just destroying enemies on Xini.

It's odd that this glitch is years old and yet I have only ran into this glitch once and have never heard of it ever happening. Is it truly that rare?
