Maybe it’s not in the patch notes because it’s unintended.

Or we could just assume the worst and blow up on the forums. Your call.

first of all, im not blowing up.

big difference between blowing up vs letting de know how i feel n asking whats going on.

if its unintended, an eventual reply from DE that it is unintended would be nice.

unfortunately i dont believe that to be the case. we shall see.

  2. i play on xbox n we just got the railjack revised revisited whatever update. the sentients are now harder. what exactly got changed on them i dont know, but i have 50 murex III badges. ive played enough to feel the difference. a guy in my clan with over 80 murex badges cant keep frost bubbles up to save his life when before today he had no problem even on the last ship. im pretty fed up with how many nerfs and changes dont get into the patch notes. what exactly is going on here de? u do know that being 'transparent with players' doesn't work when u cant bother to put things in the change log. kinda sick of this n would really like DE to consider this before they conveniently leave more stuff out of patch notes.

WTF This can happen ? I reached with a buddy after 8 hours enemy level 7500 in arbitration survival, both with revenant using only messmer skin. At start we wanted to do a quick  30 min run, ended 7.5 hours later lol. We planned to look if there is a cap after enemy level 9999, since i reached  999.999.999 mio credits and it does not go higher. We wanna go again with good setup since we were almost not prepared escept bramma. This can ban me ?

i honestly think it had more to do with how she was using the 3rd ability. just before this DE made it not work on the wolf of saturn six and i believe they adjusted more right after. but the exact strategy she was using at the time was already being looked at by DE as being exploitative.

The person who did 24 hour solo Kuva Survival with Revenant was outright automatically banned by the system (no trade ban or anything). I don't think that person ever got their account back. You can see that person's reddit post history promptly stops after that ban.

ur talking about olga, and i believe getting ur facts wrong. she got trade banned, not banned from the game. not too mention that this most likely had more to do with how she used revenant n his abilities getting tweaked afterwards as an 'exploit', using the 3rd ability and rapidly switching her mouse sensitivity to kill with it. thus i believe her method of gameplay is what was suspect. its quite often that pc players get trade banned for 2 weeks when doing something like this, but its far less common for console users, as we dont have cheat engines or macros or aimbots that could be causing this level of gameplay in an exploitative way.

There is an auto ban system that long missions like this can often trigger due to unusal mission rewards it just does trade bans first.  Long missions like this can often be flagged as an exploit by that system when that happens what you do on the actual mission doesn't even matter.  The thing I have seen in the past is a group of 4 people doing a long mission all just using spectres to kill stuff and them basically hiding they considered just doing that to go a long time in a mission an exploit.

first off, he did nothing that is bannable. i dont think u quite understand what people have gotten banned for during long runs, cuz its never been the long run itself. its been things like blocking off areas with drop ship supports, people purposely causing enough lag to slow down a timer, and people other than host exiting n reentering the match to throw down those supports quicker or activate buffs n powers that never deactivated due to oversights in the code... stuff like that. thevirusgalaxy and his clan hold several long run records, and he doesn't 'exploit', he just runs as long as he can with the tools at his disposal. i should know, i help him refine builds, n i have several top runs on previous events that we've done together. if we know of a bannable exploit, we avoid it. if we know of something that seems like an exploit, we show it to DE. case in point, if DE considers any of this an exploit, they can change it, they have video documentation linked on their forum.

if we are being honest, virus and other long run people are some of DE best testers. without virus would u even know that defense literally breaks down after 560 waves? in case u were unaware, he had a previous one cut off at 564 just like this one did at 561, the next wave just never spawned. he's also got video up of that. i think if DE considered long runs themselves a bannable offense, most of my clan n most of virus's clan would both be perma banned.

Cool, I normally only use Ivara for spy missions, now I am gonna try using her in defense too. 👏

just to be clear, using ivara like this to cloak the target only works on defenses with a living, moving defense target. she cant cloak the cryopods.

Why did you have to say that, I now want a prime accessory Railjack skin (they did an OK job on the orbiter one a while back)... 😐  The prime accessories sadly have steadily been getting worse. We have to due a new operator skin soon. 😞

they still havent bothered to fix the last one that they broke. this is exactly why i didnt get the mesa prime accessories, not paying for operator stuff when de doesn't care to fix it when they break it.

as far as the orbiter, i wish they primed the orbiter... its a prime liset skin, and doesn't affect the orbiter at all. then we got the prime filigree scene, which is cool, but we really need these 'scenes' extended past the front room, or made into sets, where we can choose the scene in each room. that said, they still need to fix orbiter coloring in my opinion. its just kinda lazy that while colors apply throughout the entire ship, the color slots are mismatched in different rooms. for instance, the tertiary color is the metallic in the front, but the accent is the metallic in the operator/transference room, n crap like that.

that said, a prime railjack skin could be pretty badass.

Yeah, there's that too. DE have a bad habit of bottlenecking EVERY #*!%ING NEW THING through whatever newest content island is. OK, we just released Fortuna, so... Every new Warframe and weapon and cosmetic and system will be locked behind Fortuna. Want to use your Archgun on the ground? Get to Rank 5 with Solaris United, because we said so! OK, now we released the new Juptier stuff, so obviously everything we release is going to cost Hexenon for the next few months, and also probably drop from Disruption. Now we have Railjack, so of course new weapons and quests and even #*!%ing RESTORES are going to either cost or involve Railjack. Hey, you want to get your Arcanes to Rank 5? Hold up, we have a RAILJACK Event in the works. Railjack Railjack, Railjack. Railjack? Railjack, Railjack!

No, there's no reason the Restores needed to cost Railjack components, other than they're being coincidentally released now. If they were released last year, they'd have cost either Hexenon or Toroids.

ill comment on the rest of ur post after i get some sleep, as i want to answer thoroughly, but you made some very valid points and put forth very interesting ideas. ember fireball exalted weapon? shut up n take my money! lol

as far as resources costs, i normally would 100% agree with u, and yes, DE does this all the effin time, but i feel like they actually made some good effort in dispersing the new resources this time. ive seen pustrels from mining on the plains, ive seen the cubic diodes from corpus missions, carbides from grineer, copernics from the void (and i believe orb vallis as well) so for the first time in history, i dont think that including them in all the new blueprints and research is bs. i actually think they did that well this time.

Even if there was a public test server people would still rage and complain because its what they do every, large update or change in warframe always brings these people out of the woodwork to complain and rage when they havent even had a chance to try the new changes

yup, lowly console player here to rage before i get the update (joking)

seriously though i agree with u. they do test, to think otherwise is slightly asinine. i do sometimes wonder if they do so thinking from a players perspective, ie 'how is this going to feel if i have to grind it' rather than just 'is it mechanically working like we intended'. i really dont think some of them understand things from the player perspective because they dont grind and are used to using commands to get what they need. i realize that as developers and testers, they dont have the time to actually do the grind, but if even a few of them did do it the hard way, i wonder how many things would be better for the community on initial release because of their internal feedback.

i also agree that public test servers would most likely be a distraction or hindrance. not to mention it would most likely lead to the people still unhappy with the changes calling the people that frequent the test server DE shills and other pointless arguments along the way.

When threads started appearing about it I was a bit confused as Prisma Veritux has been on my AW for ages and unlike most I do enjoy a bit of AW now and again. Somebody in an old thread helped test and we confirmed it as I have very few AW melee weapons. I'm wondering if DE all play sword-style as I can't think of any other reason they haven't fixed it yet unless it is intentional. There have been plenty of threads but not a single word from DE.

interesting. guess im busting my veritux back out. always been more of an onorix guy.

im going to start by saying that both of u made very valid points that i dont want to argue against or dismiss.

that said, im going to attempt to show u my pattern of thinking on this matter. i feel like restores are necessary and add to my gameplay experience (and that of many others) for multiple reasons.

the first and biggest being that powers are a major component of what makes this game unique to me. powers are what make the frames different and unique to me. i dont play most shooters, and in fact hate most shooters. games like CoD are, imo, repetitive, pointless, horrid games that are turned out every year or two with little to no value added, no progression thats meaningful, and have no reason for existing other than being cash cows. i do indeed realize that im not speaking for everyone, or even close to a majority of people when i say that, but it is how i feel. this is a big part of why warframe appealed to me, because its not those games, and it gave u multiple ways to play. u can play it as any other shooter, u can play it as a ninja, u can play it as a power spamming void demon. in my early days of playing warframe, one of the most fun things to me was team building for long runs, finding synergy between power sets of different warframes. this also mitigated alot of the grindiness. in my opinion, many ealier attempts at limiting powers, especially at the start of fighting the 'press 4 to win' mentality, came too close to forcing the shooter aspect. granted i completely understand fighting the press 4 to win mentality, but id rather it be through power synergy, still leaving playing a power spamming void demon viable just with more nuance, technique and choice between viable builds, like what they've been trying lately. the removal of solar rail conflicts and introduction of conclave was a big scare to me. 'oh crap, they just removed something unique for the matches in literally every shooter ever' i said. the introduction of energy restores was one of the first signs that DE wasn't trying to slowly become an mmo CoD. they made it viable to use powers to kill things without having nuke power on 4, because u could give urself energy to use a combination of lower dmg output powers as needed. many other changes, like the fissure system, again returned that feeling 'oh crap, its becoming just another shooter' though not as directly, because it made more matches into 5 minute, rinse n repeat style things by removing most of the motivation and desire for most players to stay in a match longer. that change in particular also made several match types virtually identical (pick up 10 reactant, do other objective), not totally identical, but close enough to make it all feel to me like some homogeneous soup that has no unique parts, much like repetitive matches in a shooter. i would much rather hang out with my friends for hours in one or two missions while spamming powers and having a raised risk reward as we go along, than loading in to 40 different matches that all feel the same and arent challenges. again, i realize that this is very much a playstyle preference that not everyone shares, but warframe gives me that option, and restores help make it viable.

moving on, cuz that first point got far too long, i feel restores help new to medium players. its a middle ground between 'i dont have energy' and 'ive farmed a full set or two of arcane energize'. i feel like this is the demographic that restores were made for. they are still at a point at which there is a real trade off between using resources to either build restores or focus them into new gear and progression. they keep them in the game with more experienced players when things get a bit rough, where as without them, there would a bigger divide between the 'haves n havenots'

granted all of that boils down to points that you two raised, where it becomes a question of economy and game design. im open to seeing those factors changed, as long as it doesn't invalidate variety of playstyles, which i believe to be a core principle of what makes this game better than other shooters. i hope that if u read this far, u can see that while i completely agree with u on many points, i feel those aspects need to be adjusted before im ok with parting with the use of restores. hopefully u can also see why i become defensive (probably overly defensive) when people push for things that could even unintentionally reduce my option of playstyles to one more in line with 'its a shooter, should be played like all other shooters, n powers are just flair'. just to be absolutely clear, im not saying either of u, or anyone else, said anything close to those words. its just that removing or limiting restores could lead down that road if the underlying reasons i stated for having them dont get addressed as well.

What I do believe - what they've demonstrated - is that they can be reasoned with. Sometimes, about some things, with enough public pressure and enough noise, especially in situations where their original stance is both ancient and also not very solidly justified. I believe the Hema is in exactly such a state.

And incidentally - than you for humouring my examples.

im really growing weary of this whole thread due to people seemingly wanting to 'win' the conversation over getting anywhere with the situation. not saying u or anyone else in particular, just a general vibe, so im going to respond as briefly as possible.

in general, i believe they can be reasoned with to an extent. i just also believe there is usually, not always, but usually, an ulterior motive behind most of de's changes to warframe, of either a) drawing players into content that de is trying to hype, b) bringing in new players, or c) it falling in line with plans de has. in the last case, the change and the actual public demand for it are often seperated by vast amounts of time, and de is using years old feedback to give the impression that it listens, when in fact those changes simply later became convenient for de's new goal.

that said, the reason that i dont think they will be willing to change the hema cost is because its only one of two things (in my memory bank) they have directly said no to doing. to my knowledge, no change in the history of warframe falls into the category of 'they directly said no, they simply will not do it, and then later changed their minds'. hence why i have repeatedly said in this thread and at least one other, that the better plan to sway them into making the research for hema more attainable is by asking for mutagen samples to be more easily gathered. it just seems like no matter how many times i say that, people quote everything else i say and ignore that part.

and as for your last statement, no problem. im here for discussions, not pointless bickering (in fact the original reason i joined the forum was for lore discussions and theory crafting). even if i disagree with someone, i do try my best to respect them and hear what they say. also, we're on the same side here, i agree that grind should be reduced. i just honestly think that DE's claim of wanting to do so is a thinly veiled attempt at quieting down the biggest complaint about the game while they draw in new players with hype for railjack, liches, this event, the anniversary, and upcoming content like next months corpus stuff, new war, and duviri paradox or whatever it was called, as well as tennocon, when they get the biggest hype of the year. but i digress. i hope ive at least gotten my point across well, even if we still disagree. ive seen other posts of yours, some of which i liked/upvoted/reacted to, and u seem like u can be fairly logical. i hope to have other discussions with u in the future, preferably on topics that dont feel like beating dead horses to me.

  12. here's my thoughts: why are u trying to discourage spamming plates? does it hurt ur gameplay to have other players running around with near infinite energy? why ruin the game for people that like using powers?

this game isnt call of duty, its not pvp based, the places like conclave where it is, the gear wheel is disabled, and if it was meant to be a straight forward fps, it would be, and we wouldnt have powers.

gd, get over urself, not everyone plays like u, and thats perfectly fine. u dont want to spam plates, then dont. but u dont have the right to choose how other people play or choose what the devs of the game make available to us to allow for various playstyles.

  13. telling u that being in a clan by urself means more grind isnt flaming u for that choice, its being honest with you. a clan based objective like dojo research is geared towards multiple players. choosing to do it alone inherently means more grind.

but again... my whole point here, with all of my posts in this thread, is that DE flat out said no to reducing the cost. if u want to get anywhere with this whole thing, fight for increased drop rates. they didnt already flat out say no to that. choose the better plan of attack instead of beating a long dead horse and expecting to get fresh meat.

Well, given how that was their stance basically defending a really bad decision, it doesn't mean that DE is going to be set in stone, especially since they have demonstrated that they are willing to basically undo grinds (like the 1.0 Railjack costs) if it suits them.  In other words, I don't think DE sticking with Hema's original cost is as set in stone as a lot of people think it is.

to be fair, theres very few things that they have just flat out said no to. many things they say 'not at this time', 'we'll be looking at it moving forward', and other such statements. i can honestly only think of 2 things they've flat out said no to, n thats hema cost reduction and rereleasing founder pack items. at least one of those two things is about as set in stone as it gets, so its logical to think the other is fairly set as well.

i think a cost reduction would be fine, and great for alot of players/clans that dont have the hema researched yet, but i also think asking for this is basically beating ur head against a wall.

regardless of how set in stone the decision is, i think the better approach here is to ask about drop chance increases for mutagen samples, because they haven't directly said no to this.

i understand that from my previous posts you may get the impression im against u here but im not. im simply trying to help by attempting to redirect ur effort into what i see as a more viable path to the goal: these research costs being more attainable

  15. 42 minutes ago, Iamabearlulz said:

All in favour of banning those defending Hema's cost from the forums, as they clearly cannot be trusted to give valuable, reasonable criticism and input?

hardly any of us are defending the cost. at least for myself, im not defending any of DE's decisions. what im doing is saying that i think all those asking for a reduced cost are basically talking to a brick wall. im saying DE wont listen to these arguments, not that they shouldn't. mostly because they already said they wont change it. its like people asking for a rerelease of founder pack exclusive primes, just not gonna happen. pretty big difference there in my opinion.

edit: just for clarity, asking for a mutagen sample drop chance increase is a far more viable argument than reducing the cost. they flat out said they wont reduce cost, they didn't ever say they are unwilling to adjust droprates.

does DE even read these things?

in my opinion, not really... unless its already what they want to focus on. theres a list of things i could point to with countless feedback threads that never got answered.

I avoided it because I don't consider it relevant. Yes, the Railjack change was done with the express purpose of boosting Railjack participation. I don't recall the same argument being made for bait blueprints, however. If I recall correctly, the argument around those was simplifying the system and culling needless grind. The same goes for moving from crafted Arcanes to purchased Arcanes. I don't recall there being an issue with player adoption of Operator Arcanes, nor do I remember claims that more players needed to engage with them, for whatever reason. I don't recall anything of the sort for Cetus Wisps, either.

My point here is that just because this has been discussed before and DE have shot it down doesn't mean it's not up for debate. Especially these days when long-held "traditions" are being challenged by fairly ambitions balance changes, I don't think bringing up Hema is out of turn.

Again, all of them? So reducing the cost of Cetus Wisps a year after Cetus and the Plains were introduced is "pushing newer content?" Reducing the grind for fish bait over two years after fishing was introduced was "pushing newer content?" What about reducing the crafting costs for Apothics at some point last year? What about increasing the drop rates for Juggernauts last year, and then just the other day for Pheraldic Pods blueprints to 90%? What about the current increase in reward drops from regular missions by scrapping the lower-amount versions of basic resource rewards? Hell, what about reducing the grind for Harrow by pushing his pieces to Rotation B of Defection in addition to Rotation C? I mean, if you believe that all of these things count as "pushing newer content," then your definition of "newer content" itself could easily cover the Hema.

More to the point, I have multiple examples of DE reducing grind because players asked them to reduce grind, DE looked at it and agreed. Their stated goal for 2020 was, in fact, to reduce the grind - they said as much on one of the recent Dev Streams, though possibly not in these exact words. I'm not expecting charity, but I'm equally not expecting a stone wall of stubborn refusal to enact changes because the people working at DE are not cultists. They can be reasoned with - as we saw with self-damage.

If you're going to accuse me of omitting parts of your post then fine. But try to actually address my examples rather than offering a blanket statement about why they don't count, if you want the same regard in return.

see, this is a good start to a list of examples, but yes, most of that is indeed still pushing new content. it was a year after the plains were released when they brought out the other eidolons n made retroactive changes to the plains after orb vallis, like animal conservation n floofs, and DE were definitely still in 'play the open worlds' mode. they were talking in interviews about how people still play the other open world as part of the hyping of fortuna. so yes, changes to cetus wisps and operator arcanes and fishing and such were pushing people to play the open worlds more, which when lumping together open worlds was still new content, n if not lumped together was still revolving around them still putting out content on the plains.

the apothics seem to have been changed around the time that "kill a silver grove specter" became a nightwave challenge or shortly after. nightwaves were, and to some extent still are, newer content.

the juggernaut stuff, i cant put into that category, so ill concede that point. +1 to u.

resource mission rewards, at least in my opinion, weren't changed enough to be worth mentioning as reducing grind.

harrow, that could go either way. on ur side of the argument, he is not new content. on my side of the argument, the chains of harrow quest is a prerequisite to newer main quests like the sacrifice, chimera prologue, etc. even though u dont have to have harrow built to complete them, making him easier to farm does give the impression of an easier flow forward into other, newer content.

a big part of my point here is that DE says one thing and does the opposite constantly. yes, they said in stream that the 2020 goal is to reduce grind, then they made the kuva lich system, and the grind of those weapons stick at 80 formas, and 96 times leveling up the same weapons. yes, they said they were getting back to doing competitive events right before a year where they heavily slacked on competitive events n scrapped one of the two they had planned n the other lacked a leaderboard n became a participation event. yes, they said raids and solar rail conflicts would be coming back. yes, they said they would fix operator outfits. they lie through their teeth sometimes.

changes like self damage had very little to do with response to player demand, and far more to do with pushing this whole damage 3.0 thing and pushing kuva weapons.

if you dont think DE is a stubborn stone wall of refusal to things not in their current plan, go ask about one of the things in my 'they say one thing and do the opposite' paragraph, like solar rails, operator outfits, raids, etc and u will get radio silence.

hell, u remember the change to vacuum? was that based on player demands? no. if it was, it would've been done sooner, made universal, or fetch would've come with those changes instead of later. they did that when they did it because carrier prime was about to be vaulted, and helios prime was being designed. no one would've given a damn about helios prime or dethcube prime if vacuum was still carrier exclusive. they react to statistical data and player numbers, not player wants and demands.

even in railjack, they are reducing the entry cost, not the grind. most of the good avionics still have like a 0.2% droprate, the best engines n such still have like a 2% mission rewards rate, and then have a layer of rng that could leave u with a great vidar reactor or a bottom barrel one, after u grind for the drop.

basic end point, just because DE says they want to reduce grind, or that they listen to the community, doesn't mean that its true when the ulterior motive of getting the player base invested in what DE is pushing doesn't also exist.

  19. my biggest thought, this would actually end up causing more outrage for multiple reasons, including but not limited to, a) what a few people have already said about not getting the feedback needed to act upon, b) increased wait time for content, c) extremely longer wait time for content on consoles and d) DE doesn't actually listen to much feedback so it would essentially be extra wait for nothing.
