  1. I'm probably just overthinking this but I started to think about the comparisons between Xaku and Sans from Undertale. Most obvious being Grasp of Lohk and the Skeletal form but I kept noticing more similarities the more I thought about it. Even if this is entirely coincidental I thought it'd be funny to point out everything I noticed. Xata's (Truth's) Whisper. Xaku augments his weapons with Void damage. In Undertale, Sans attacks are augmented by "KR" (commonly assumed to mean Karma or Karmic Retribution) which applies a poison effect to all his attacks - Grasp of Lohk (Void). Along with functioning like Gaster Blasters they are described as stealing enemy weapons, sort of like Telekinesis. - Xaku's passive gives him dodge chance. And using The Vast Untime increases this from 25% to 75%. Dodge being something Sans is known for in his fight since he's too squishy to take a single hit. Vast Untime also halts the duration of his other active (non-subsumed) skills. Sans also has some ability to mess with space and time, due to him setting up attacks via blinking, changing the players position and even stopping time outside of his fight in one instance. - The Lost Each of the sub-skills have names that could fit into the concept of a Judge, being Accuse, Gaze and Deny. Sans is known to act like a Judge for the players actions. (I could also say The Lost refers to The Lost Child but I think that's a stretch even by this logic) - Gaze causes enemies to be stunned in place, which could be similar to the Blue Bones mechanic where you have to stop moving to avoid taking damage This thread is intended to be more light hearted and not to be taken too seriously. I kinda just wanted to post my thoughts about this somewhere. Also random Xaku-Sans image I found ages ago because why not
  2. I know that the focus of this update is more involving the enigmatic mythology of The Man In The Wall/The Indifference but I couldn't help but think that they sounded a bit too different in this update. It wasn't jarring in The New War, but that might have been a result of them not having as much of a speaking role. I was kinda surprised at just how much dialogue we got. I'm a bit conflicted on if that's a good thing, or if it makes Wally less special to have spoken too much. Regardless, I couldn't help but feel that Wally's voice was quite tonally different from how it was in the past. Given the scene at the end of the quest with Wally and Entrati I'm curious if this implies there are multiple Void entities, and if that might explain why the voices have changed overtime. Where as in the past we had the more mature and fatherly "Hey Kiddo" compared to the more jovial persona we've seen in Whispers in the Walls.
  3. Marelok, Phage and the Login Milestone weapons
  4. Hi, with the new Grimoire I wanted to pair it with Yereli. I know that it grants 200% crit chance while moving, but I don't quite understand the technical aspect of it. So, for the Grimoire that has 20% crit chance, is that additive, giving you 220% crit chance, or multiplicative, granting you 60% crit chance? I'm mostly just curious if I should build the Grimoire to not have a Crit Chance mod, or if a Crit Chance mod is still needed.
  5. This doesn't seem to be listed on the changelogs but I noticed earlier that the Grimoire can't be chat linked.
  6. I do admit they could have done better foreshadowing between the Vessels. I just assumed Wally was controlling it. But from my understanding. The Vessels were created for each of the Entrati. I believe the two that meet at the end of the quest are Vessels meant to represent Entrati and Loid. Assumingly DE doesn't need to state it, but it's clear Entrati and Loid were in a romantic relationship. And that firm yet caring hand reminded it of their love. There is a moment where you can see sadness in the Vessel, like it remembered how much it loved.
  7. We had created monsters we couldn't control. We drugged them, tortured them, eviscerated them... we brutalized their minds, but it did not work. Until they came. And it was not their force of will, not their Void devilry, not their alien darkness... it was something else. It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly broken thing...and take away its pain.
  8. To? I wanted to try a less spoilerish title but I couldn't think of it without making the title seem misleading or irrelevant to the topic.
  9. Honestly I agree. Plus there are Glyphs that just straight up cannot be obtained anymore either because the creator moved on, or other reasons and I'd like to see them return.
  10. Incomplete? You mean like a 95% chance it'll fry our brains and self destruct? Yeah, those odds seem safe enough. (I'm joking but that's normally how it goes)
  11. My only real disappointment with the update was that the Vessels didn't really amount to much from a gameplay perspective. Watching Whispers in the Walls at Tennocon, I was under the impression that Whispers In The Walls and 1999 were going to be completely seperate updates (which is still the case) but I assumed that the transition from Whispers to 1999 was purely a Tennocon exclusive thing for showcase purposes. Don't get me wrong. It was still a great transition, but I thought once we played the update that we'd actually play as the Vessel instead of the 1999 Demo. I respect the decision to have the Vessels be non-combative from a story telling perspective, but with such a grand set piece I had imagined that it would be something we could control, and even customise due to how generic and bland it appears when we see it in game (When I say bland, I'm not saying that in an insulting way. More that it gave me the impression the Vessel was a template for US to customise later on.) Hoping in 1999 or in an update after that, we get "Vessel" gameplay. If we can hide a moon inside a different dimension, I don't think getting the Vessel out into the "Indifference" Landscape is much of a stretch.
  12. I imagine that the Infested was always able to assimilate non-organic matter, (See Grineer and Corpus ships) it's just that it struggles depending on the material or even just the technology itself. Like. It might have been able to assimilate the material, but not "control" the proxies. My best guess is it wasn't very compatible with the tech from Corpus proxies. All Alad V did was make a strain that was able to figure out how to properly assimilate Corpus robotics and use their design to its advantage. While everything is still up in the air, I have a feeling that the stuff we see in 1999 might be the origins of the Infestation. Rather than being a computer bug as we expected, their Y2K disaster was probably the emergence of a very primitive Infestation outbreak that was able to assimilate 90s era tech. There's still a lot of questions on the table. For example, is Y2K responsible for it? Or was it just poorly timed? It seems the two characters we meet blame Entrati for the disaster. Though it's hard to say if he started it, or The Indifference did it when it followed him. When I first saw 1999 at TennoCon I thought it was really odd/lazy that they had the Infested animations and body framework but looking at it now. It may have been a deliberate design choice due to the fact we'd probably be able to pick up on those details. Random fun fact: I did a bit of exploring during the 1999 segment, if you go to the train to the left where you spawn, and go to the back of said train. You can crouch under and find Man In The Wall as your Operator taunting you even back in 1999.
  13. Yeah, I didn't think it really told anything new, but I think it hadn't exactly been written down either. I can't even remember if the name "Technocyte" is even in Warframe or if we're just calling it based on Dark Sector.
  14. When checking on the Terminal after the quest, this can be found under "The Conflict" file It's not much, but I can't remember the last time we had information about the Infested itself. Yes, while we have places like Deimos. Most "Infested" Content involves the Infested as a side character or cannon fodder to whatever story is being told. It's rare that we ever actually recieve "Infested" lore. I do hope some day we can get a proper update that dives into the lore on the Infested, rather than being the decoration for other characters like the Entrati Family.
  15. I've noticed playing in Public games, people struggle with another secret door. Large central tile for combat, has a side room with glass windows and two locked doors on either side. If anyone is struggling with that one, go to the central platform in the middle and look at the supporting beams.
  16. Began playing Warframe in late 2014, I believe it was around the time of Mesa's release and the Alad V Mutalist event. There has been a lot of ups and downs in my journey in Warframe, both in game and outside of it. But my love for Warframe still burns as bright as it did during The Second Dream. I intend to stick with Warframe hopefully until the end. That being said, I hope Warframe never shuts down. And even if Warframe did shutdown, I'd hope DE can make the preperations to make Warframe playable after the official servers shutdown.
  17. Probably going to seem like a weird thread, but I have a strong memory of years ago when I used to rock Rhino Prime that I was on an Assassination mission on Ceres and I got killed by some enemies in the room. What struck me as odd back then was instead of just having a regular ragdoll or stock death animation that sometimes occurs. I remembered that my Rhino got split in half, similar to the effects given by Slash deaths. It's been such a long time that I've wondered if it was a freak bug, or if it was something that got removed years ago. I've never really seen anyone else talk about this sort of thing either. P.S. If you're curious. Reviving worked as normal. There was no weird Fallout 3 scenario
  18. That wasn't what I was suggesting. I was meaning I'm bothered by how activating Empower counts as an activation for "On Next Ability Cast" scenarios, wasting it.
  19. Will there be any improvements to Abyssal Exterminate as a gamemode? It felt really lackluster. I'm guessing a lot of resources went to the QoL update (which I'm thankful for) For instance, it bugs me that there are no new enemies, and that all the missions play the same regardless of what syndicate you bought them from. The operatives in mission aren't even Syndicate based either.
  20. There's something ironic about how in an update dedicated to Quality of Life, the important part of progression for this update's content is a huge inconvenience. Not a slight against DE, just sort of funny that it happened.
  21. That'd be cool. Whenever your Sahasa finishes off an enemy open to a Parazon finisher, it triggers whatever Parazon mods you have on your Parazon. (Including non-finisher specific mods if applicable) For example, Sahasa finishes an enemy, and it triggers Live Wire, "Shock enemies within 20m while Hacking" but from the Sahasa finisher instead of hacking
  22. I honestly feel the same way about "On Next Ability Cast" when using the Helminth ability Empower. Empower itself cannot be buffed by any means, and I will frequently forget to activate it when setting up for a "On Next Ability Cast" scenario For Clarity:
  23. It's probably still too early to comment on but I figured I'd make this thread anyway. While I absolutely appreciate many of the changes that came with this update there are still some stuff that I feel has been left out that could do with some touchups. I'm sure I'm not the only one so thought it might be interesting to share other QoL things that could be improved upon in the future, or in subscequent patches. I've made two posts prior to the update, but for the sake of not repeating myself it's probably easier if I just link said posts.
