I find the best way to display my displeasure is to vote with my feet.

I've been playing Warframe since its founding days but I've uninstalled it this year, due in part to moves like this, as well as an increasing dislike for the creative direction the game is heading in.

Don't be pulled in by "but I've spent X amount of money on the game, I can't just leave". You totally can, and it actually feels quite liberating.

I was almost tempted to check back in but flicking through this topic has firmly convinced me not to.

Agreed. 10 years, thousands of hours, thousands of dollars, but this was the last straw for me. They're completely out of touch and I have better things to spend my time on.

because they can't afford it. This is about the price. People are mad that its too expensive

No, it's about the principle of it. $90 means nothing to me, I spend more than that on takeout and drinks every weekend. I've spent more than 10x that on WF stuff. But when 2/3rds of that price is stuff I do not want or need (Aya + plat) and cannot remove from the purchase, when that stuff has blatantly been stuffed in just to jack up the price, and when they've layered on the FOMO to push people into wasting their money on a bunch of junk alongside what they want, it's morally wrong to reward them for being scummy.

  3. This is an absolute joke of a response and arguably even more tone-deaf than the initial packs.

    1. They are still abusing FOMO psychology to push people to buy without considering whether it's wise to do so, despite DE's previous position against post-Founder pack time-limited exclusives.

    2. They are still dramatically overpriced with no option to purchase incrementally, despite the very obvious solutions already discussed quite widely.

    3. The principle problem with the packs to begin with was that the price was artificially inflated with aya and plat. I am a ten-year veteran with zero need for $40 "worth" of aya (in an odd amount which can't be used conveniently). I likewise have zero need for more plat -- I'm floating ~3.5k plat that I have no real use for and have probably as much again in spare stuff I can't be bothered to sell. Throwing more plat doesn't make it a better deal for anyone outside of a brand new whale.

    4. God forbid you make a more sensible change (pull the plat and aya, reduce prices) and then comp/refund people who bought the original bundles if they ask for it.

This response actually moved me to change my Steam review to a negative, really disgusting greed on display here.

Okay admittedly I shouldnt have said that, Im just really tired of hearing it. As for when I started playing, it was just before Nekros was added back in 2013. 10 years ago. I was exclusively on Xbox One then and eventually moved over to PC. And yeah, I know about the time before Second Dream was added. However, DE has been making Warframe a long time. Their original attempt was Dark Sector, playing as a human; Hayden Tenno. Over time they've been trying to slowly tie their games together (now we have the announcement of WF 1999 which would be about 20-30 years after Dark Sector which took place in the 70's IIRC). I think its fair to say their plans for Warframe's to be an extension of the actual character have been there since the beginning.

We all know what Dark Sector was, and it was always an aesthetic predecessor. Nobody ever bothered talking about what was under the skin of warframes because they were the characters, in the same way that LoL players didn't care about who the summoners were.

what about new players being trolled by a vet?

That's part of what I'm saying. Add a votekick function and you'll see people getting kicked all the time "for being noobs", "because they have [frame]", and any other reason you can think of. Votekick systems, overwhelmingly, are used to kick people for gameplay choices and experience level (both too much and too little), rather than to get rid of AFKs and cheaters.

Only to the leech, which is kinda the whole point.

Blatantly false. That's like saying that votekick systems in PVP shooters are only disruptive to cheaters because they never get used against anyone but cheaters. It's completely out of line with the reality of how systems like that are employed by players.

  6. Votekicking is vastly more disruptive than someone AFKing.

If you're going into pug sessions not fully prepared to carry the entire cell, you only have yourself to blame. Assume that all three of your teammates will be useless or AFK before you deploy and you'll be fine.

  7. So basically even more information stripped away and hidden behind additional clicks and mouse-overs.

Jesus wept. I get that you guys want it to be shiny, show every player's warframe, and match the new color themes. It is worth the price? The loss of functionality is killin' me, Smalls! Don't get me wrong, I like having more items visible at once, but if we're doing that why not do what people on reddit have already suggested and have a stacked list with much smaller icons, the names, and drop counts?

Solar rail conflicts were cheesy, they where neglected and unbalanced. Perhaps with balancing and care from DE plus player assistance - aside from telling them it was trash - we can cook something that was once served raw. Just because rails where unbalanced, doesn't mean it's going to be a copy paste disaster. Look towards the player driven content, community, and competitive nature. Something that ties warframe together, a never ending task to work together and complete a meaningful common goal. Something that you can carve you're name into, outliving your warframe career.

Solar rails worked great in their principle to be endlessly exploited for their treasures and riches. From these exploits ICE alliance for instance has long been remembered after 6 years passing beyond just PC Warframe. Such epicness came from the political and rail feats. Plus their members worked incredibly hard to reach their goals. As in the older events, they reached top leaderboards as individuals and clans, they've even gone as far to be within the top 100 of the kill leaderboard. Yes ICE had high taxes for the purpose to look like the bad guys, but in doing so, made them infamous. It also made them poorer with more enemies. But none stood up against them. What if, you where known to be the good guys? Ones that defeated ICE and brought reduced taxes?

Everyone complained they couldn't win after their first attempt and wrote on the forums complaining about taxes on one particular node. They hoped and pray someone else would fight ICE, but the next guy would just think the same thing.

    What about console solar rails?

If you think 100% taxes set by a mega-alliance that used meta-exploits and DDoS attacks to prevent people from challenging them was fun, you don't have a valid opinion.

  9. Speedva with a few hundred of both consumable because, just like last time, pugs make it take far longer than it ought to and forget (or "forget", despite the things costing basically nothing) to bring their own. Can also do Rhino so you can just stand on a rock and play tower defense for the entire fight.

Oh, and something with innate or mod-derived punchthrough to shoot the heads from behind when they target people who can't DPS and just run away from the hemos instead.

  10. Because D2 went F2P.

That said, I've tried D2. I've put around a hundred hours into it, and I can already smell the wall of frustration around endgame content. I'm also well-familiar with Bungie's garbage-tier community relations from the Halo 2/3 days, so I have zero interest in getting over-invested in it. It's not a bad game, but Destiny was always a lackluster ripoff of Warframe married to the crappy Halo: Reach movement and gunplay, D2 is no different, and I don't really have much interest in it when I can play WF now and Halo CE, 2, and 3 once they unlock in the MCC. Those were Bungie's glory years anyways.

It's nice to have populated PvP though, I will give it that.

Heavy attacks wont have the potential KPS the s2w has had like ever. They are not agile like s2w. They might deal high damage but wont be as effective when it comes to getting many kills

The virgin slide spammer vs. the chad Broken Bull spammer.

You could already combo BB into BB by chaining a slide attack after every five spins to stop the stagger, but now that we can roll-cancel out of melee animations (INCLUDING the BB stagger) it is massively more forgiving.

Also, yeah, other people already covered it, but trying to talk about anything without excluding rivens from the mix is mistake #1. That's also not anything special, performance-wise. The fact that you're still using PPP and CO on the same build and not using SS says all we need to know.

I'll give you a tip: one of the main reasons slide meta was meta was mobility. Not even the mobility of slides themselves, but the total lack of mobility from stance melee. This is why I *@##$ed up a storm in 2.9 when they removed quick melee. Yeah, it's still more mobile than pretty much anything in stances... but 3.0 made certain stances mobile enough that they're not annoying to use. Blind Justice and Cleaving Whirlwind are two of these, which give you good momentum while also providing uninterrupted streams of fast, wide-area attacks. The other main reason, of course, was MS. MS was what let you run with no base crit mod and still be able to feed into Berserker readily enough to build combo for BR. It didn't hurt that it was really damn powerful on its own.

So, in short: slide attacks still most definitely have a place, but their principal utility now is for closing small gaps and chaining between combos to avoid bad animation frames, not skating around. You'll still kill stuff fine at most levels that most players play at, but there's no real reason to abuse your hands like that any more. And I ain't gonna lie, some stances look really cool, and I'm glad to finally use more than two melee weapons.

  12. People who are focus farming but don't want to play SO/ESO for whatever reason.

Don't complain, it's more efficient distribution of affinity for you if you're trying to level more than one thing at once. If you want to level things naturally, maybe don't play the one meta affinity grinding mission on the whole starmap.

I would also look into the ENB. There may be a setting to prevent it from interfacing with Warframe (or other programs), or to only interface with Skyrim. I'm sure you could find some support from the Skyrim modding community to this end. Since modding isn't a thing here in Warframe, I'd say any help you get here will be minimal at best.

You're not paying attention. The ENB injector only interacts with Skyrim. DE's anticheat scans your whole system rather than just checking for manipulation of WF's files, which will not stand up in court if they were ever sued over it -- as someone else pointed out, beefier game companies have tried and lost.

That said, thanks for the warning, OP. I think that pretty much anyone who plays Skyrim/FONV/FO4 on PC these days is using an ENB for each, even if only a performance-enhancer one. Certainly know I do.

Imagine getting banned because you're using a graphical enhancer for an unrelated game that doesn't touch WF's files at all. Sadly, with the invasive nature of DE's anticheat and lackadaisical attitude of many of DE's support staff, that's reality. Good luck OP, but the forums won't help you. Support probably won't. Your best bet would probably be tweeting at Steve or Reb asking for ENB to be whitelisted going forward for all players (which really is not unreasonable, given the combination of what it does [graphical enhancement] and what it doesn't [affect WF at all]). Even that's a crapshoot though.
