Revenent Danse vs Grineer Arctic Eximus

Recently fought an essence carrier, as stated a grineer arctic eximus. I flipped into Rev's 185% strength Danse Macabre, which usually obliterates anything nearby, but it continuously dealt 0 damage against the eximus. According to Danse Macabre's description, it changes to the most effective element that would damage for the targets it hits. As the opponent was grineer, Danse should have swapped to Corrosive damage (Toxin + Electricity) neither of which involve the Cold status type. Sadly after several seconds Danse was still causing 0 damage.

Either this is some eximus/pyrus carrier -invulnerability to status- bug that DE hasn't fixed or Revenent's Danse is programmed to change types AFTER dealing 0> damage to an enemy to 'Register' the type for it to counter.
