DrMegavolt
Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present my first Warframe expansion concept. Inspired vaguely by HugintheCrow's Grineer expansion and Almighty_Jado's Legion of Tau, I present to you: Something massive is afoot in the upper echelons of the Corpus Consortium... something that will shake the Origin System to it's core... This will be divided up into several parts, all of which will be edited into this post, and posted separately in this thread. Part 0: Corpus tweaks, new enemies, teaser for Part 2, and Sergeant rework. Part 1: First Corpus Reinforcements (new weapons and items), lore teaser Part 2: Operation Scourge of the Rails, the Freebooters, Animo 2.0, new mission types, new enemies, Corpus lore Part 3: Second Corpus Reinforcements, Operation Blood Feud, more Corpus lore Part 4: The Corpus Ziggurat Armada, new enemies, new quest: Skybreaker Prologue Part 5: More Corpus lore, new main story quest: The Railjack, Part 1 >>RAILJACK LAUNCH<< Part 6: The Mothership, new main story quest: The Railjack, Part 2, new Raid: Deus Ex Machina Part 7: New quest: Outpost R505, new Tenno/Void lore, new enemies, new faction(ish) [ALSO! If HuginTheCrow agrees, the timeline could meet here, and this would be when Operation Shadow Marines happens] Part 8: Operation Blazing Dawn, new Sentient lore, new Raid: Oath of Vengeance Advance Warning: I have no clue how to balance statistics, so I will only describe the general behavior of any enemy types I create, and not give exact or even estimated numbers. Advance Warning 2: The Corpus don't have much lore right now, so a lot of this stuff is based upon my personal speculation and headcanon. Consider it a fan-fiction in expansion-concept form. (also yeah I made that logo myself, using the plain black Warframe logo and Paint.net. and yes, that is the Corpus logo merged into the Lotus logo) PART 0 - General Corpus changes and prelude to war: Sergeant Rework: The Sergeant needs a rework. Badly. So I made this, originally back in late 2017, but it seemed only right to overhaul it and include it in this Corpus-themed expansion: Spoiler Lore Sergeant Viasia Kiiv, better known simply as The Sergeant, is the Corpus Board's invisible hand in all the comings and goings of vessels in the Origin system. From the command deck of her imposing, mile-long Obelisk-class battleship, The Sergeant watches from the shadows, her scouts and proxies standing guard over Corpus operations throughout the system. As commander of the Solar Rails, she is charged with overseeing thousands of ventures, and is responsible for Corpus ventures into the Dark Sectors in search of lost technologies and Orokin relics. Intelligence reports indicate she has unearthed ancient Tenno cryo-vaults, and is shipping the still-frozen inhabitants directly to the Zanuka laboratories of Jupiter. Someone must put a stop to her, but it won't be easy. The Sergeant is like a phantom of the endless night - always hiding, always lurking, always on the move. However, her primary command center has been found near Phobos, and her ship regularly makes port there. Boss Info You will battle the Sergeant on the command deck of her ship, a large triangular room filled with control consoles and holographic readouts. In the front of the room is a raised platform where The Sergeant will be found at the start of the fight. She is equipped with a Lenz (which functions as expected, with its dual-pulse explosion) and is highly acrobatic, leaping and diving from cover to cover while taking shots at the Tenno, clinging to walls much like a Tenno can. Throughout the fight she is protected by Alpha-3, a flying defense drone similar to a bigger Osprey but equipped with a Plasma Repeater. The drone is not hard to kill but moves fast and dodges shots like an Osprey. It continuously regenerates the Sergeant's shields, making her virtually unkillable while it is active. While Alpha-3 is active, The Sergeant will also occasionally melee the Tenno with a Serro. Once Alpha-3 has been destroyed, The Sergeant becomes more evasive and gains the ability to cloak, while Senta Turrets around the room (similar to those triggered by normal Security Cameras) come online. At the start of the fight, a holographic decoy of The Sergeant will spawn right next to her. This decoy has only shields and cannot use any abilities, just its gun. Once 1/4 of her health is depleted, a second will spawn, then a third at 1/2, and a fourth at 3/4. The decoys cannot be killed, but will dephase for 15 seconds upon "death" before reforming. Their attacks are notably less powerful than The Sergeant's, for balance reasons. Appearance (apologies for horrible photoshop) The Sergeant resembles the Broker Jen Dro, but with blue stripes on her jumpsuit, and replacing the skintight hood with a ski-goggle like high tech visor and a spiky blond crew cut, and has numerous Corpus tattoos. Her decoys exactly resemble her, but flicker occasionally, and shed fragments of blue hardlight instead of bleeding on damage. Alpha-3 looks like a half-size Raptor with the same color scheme as The Sergeant. Voice Lines Mission start: "Oh hello, <Username> - fancy seeing you here. Say, were you looking for your frozen friends? Too bad - they're already on their way to Jupiter!" "Tenno? On my ship?! Impossible! No matter, I'll see them out, personally. *laughs*" "You came all this way and went to all this trouble, just to find little old me? I'm flattered, I really am. Still gotta kill ya though." "The Board is quite interested in you Tenno types. I've already got sixteen advance bids for your <Warframe>!" When starting battle: "I suppose you're feeling all high-and-mighty after foiling Old Neffy's plans on Venus, but this is Phobos! This is my domain, my ship, my rules!" During battle: "Alad V owes me a couple dozen Zanuka proxies, in exchange for live Warframes. You can be my down payment!" "I'm just warming up!" "You ever seen what a Serro can do to scrapmetal? Now picture that on yourself." "I eat Infested Golems for breakfast! You Tenno are just a midday snack!" "The Grineer couldn't stop me, and neither can you!" When starting Phase 2 (after Alpha-3 goes down): "You'll pay for that with your pretty cyborg shell, Tenno!" When deploying decoys: "Betcha can't figure out which me is me!" "Hey Tenno, wanna see a magic trick?" "Hardlight Specters! Handy things, aren't they?" When defeated: "By the... Void... We serve... Forever..." Corpus Tweaks: -Crewmen and all their variants (save for Prod Crewmen and Riot Crewmen (see below)) are now smarter about hanging back and letting the robotics do the heavy lifting. -Level 15+ missions, which lack Prod Crewmen, now have a new enemy: Riot Crewmen Spoiler Riot Crewman Appearance: (again, sorry about bad photoshop) Riot Crewmen resemble Corpus Techs, but with orange suits and equipped with an Arca Titron and a Sonicor. Behavior: Riot Crewmen are crowd-control specialists, charging into the fray with their Sonicor to blow foes off their feet, then get in close with their Arca Titron and keep their target(s) staggered and focused on dealing with them while ranged units focus them down. They're rare spawns, like Techs. They can also perform flying slam attacks with the Arca Titron, causing Electric procs on all nearby enemies. Uniquely out of all Crewman-type Corpus organic soldiers, Riot Crewmen have Armor health. -Corpus enemies now actively cluster inside of Nullifier bubbles. Not a lot of them, just three or four. However, Nullifiers also try to hang back and don't swarm players as much anymore. -Projectile flight speed on the Crewman Dera slightly buffed. Teaser for Part 2: Spoiler What could this be...? Overwatch Osprey: Part 1 - Corpus Reinforcements #01: Introducing: The Acceleron heavy railgun, Vectra multifunction pistol, Synchron regenerating plasma rifle, and Zera energy blades! NOTE: I lied, I'm gonna try and estimate stats for these. Please don't hate me. Acceleron: Spoiler Description: The Acceleron is a massive handheld railgun, born in the R&D labs of the colossal Luksor Nanocomposites Corporation, one of the largest guilds within the Corpus Consortium. It's designed with but one purpose in mind: Obliterate anything in its line-of-fire. Now you may be thinking that the Acceleron is just a reflavored Opticor, but there's one key difference: punch-through. The Acceleron does not deal as much damage as the Opticor, but its bolts have ridiculous punch-through. It also does not deal Area-of-Effect damage. Firing it requires a significant charge-up time, but it is hit-scan and very accurate. It also has a scope, though with only one level of zoom. It must be fully charged to fire. Note that this weapon is so powerful, it will push the wielder back 2 meters when fired. Notes: What can I say? I like big freakin railguns. Also, as seen in the drawing, the fins on the barrel flare out when charging, and the gun vents Energy-colored gas after firing. It's unique dual fire modes make it a force to be reckoned with, as it can either fire plasma bolts, or charge up to fire an explosive plasma grenade. Notes: I always wanted a pistol that had dual firemodes. Unfortunately, enthusiasm died down as fast as it had come when extensive field testing found the disc was unable to power more than a large pistol. The Cycron was born, but remained an expensive and peculiar weapon, used only by some. That is, until now. AnyoCorp and associates proudly present the Synchron, a versatile plasma rifle powered by a new and improved form of Dr. Vonn's plasma disc. This weapon is capable of discharging radiative electro-plasma pulsed beams powerful enough to melt through Grineer alloy-armor at 100 meters, all while rapidly regaining charge whenever it isn't firing. DrMegavolt
Also, because someone asked on Reddit - Yes, this will be building off of new Corpus lore established in Fortuna when it comes out. Until then, I'm only going to set the stage for my grand schemes and storyline. And a free teaser: it will involve the Corpus answer to Fomorians. I honestly don't know which to go with, though I'm leaning slightly towards the jetpack, because of A: All the jetpack Corpus we've in Fortuna teasers, and B: Grineer Powerfists behave similarly but use teleporters. Precisely because I read your stuff and have the same complaint about the lack of lore for them is why I started making this! Besides, you were doing the Grineer, and doing a bloody fantastic job of it if I do say so myself. DrMegavolt
Update: Still not done with part 2 yet, college n stuff, but I have a little teaser for you in the form of a hypothetical trailer "script": Spoiler *Open to a Corpus hangar, as a Condor transport enters through the crackling blue air-shield, landing and opening its hatch. From inside, a Corpus agent, wearing a fancy uniform and Opulas robe steps out, flanked by a bodyguard and a Helios. He is approached by two bulkier-than-usual crewmen, wearing dark gray suits with blue stripes and wielding Synchron rifles.* Ultima Elite Crewman 1: “Sir, your weapons please.” Agent Kelos: “Ah, yes. Very well.” *hands over an Arca Scisco* Ultima Elite Crewman 1: “Thank you.” *passes the gun to another crewman* “This way please, sir. The Board is expecting you.” Agent Kelos: “Excellent.” *the agent, his guard, and one of the crewmen head off down the hallway. Cut to another hallway, where the three of them reach a massive door, flanked by four more Synchron-wielding crewmen* Guard: “Identification please.” *the bodyguard hands a datashard to the guard, who inserts it into a pad, then withdraws it* Guard: “You’re cleared to proceed. The Board is waiting.” *the massive door slides open, admitting the agent into an enormous room, dominated by a colossal hexagonal table with the center cut out and an opening in one side. The room is mostly in shadow, but for holograms in the center region and a single light on each of the twenty members of the Corpus Board of Directors, arrayed around the table in comfortable but blocky office chairs.* Board member 1: “AnyoCorp is a disgrace to all of us! The Fortuna situation is out of control!” Board member 2: “Give them more time. We can profit from this yet.” Board member 3: “Shut up Felzin! I say we cut our losses and-” Chairman: “I’ll stop you there. Now, let’s have some quiet, shall we? Our guest has arrived.” *gestures at Agent Kelos* *the room quiets down abruptly as Kelos walks into the center of the table* Agent Kelos: “Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. I am Agent Kelos, Special Investigator for Union Security. I was not so long ago assigned to investigate the disappearance of former Chairman Frohd Bek and the fate of his Ambulas Project, and in the course of my research, I discovered something of tremendous importance to the entire Corpus Consortium.” *pulls out a datapad and does something with it, causing a holographic recording of the end of Ambulas Reborn to appear and play* “As you all know, Bek’s manufacturing facility was raided by Tenno, under the direction of renegade executive Ergo Glast. They succeeded in reconfiguring the Ambulas proxies to destroy Bek’s flagship from the inside out. We had believed the Animo processor and all data associated with it lost with Bek... until now.” *the first hologram fades, replaced with a schematic of Pluto’s orbit and debris from Frohd Bek’s flagship* “A single escape pod was launched from the core section of the vessel. Its passage was registered by our monitoring satellites, which found that it contained no life-forms, only a powerful energy source and some kind of computational equipment.” *the holographic schematic follows the escape pod as it descends through the atmosphere, eventually crashing in an uninhabited region* “The pod landed somewhere in the frozen wastes near Communications Relay Station 88, going largely unnoticed. However, a macro-trace through our planetary communications grid revealed a steady stream of anomalous data being transmitted from Relay Station 88 to thousands of network nodes throughout the system. I had my top analysts study this phenomenon, and after several weeks of study, they concluded that only one phenomenon could cause these patterns: sentience.” *cue shocked expressions from the Board* “Coincidence? I think not.” *closes hologram* “Ladies and gentlemen, Animo lives.” *cut to black*

I think not.” *closes hologram* “Ladies and gentlemen, Animo lives.” *cut to black* Hyped.

DrMegavolt
Okay, does that mean you're now stalking me/this thread, or is it incentive to post again? Either way, I'll just say it now, I'm still working on this, it's just that A: Fortuna happened, B: I just started playing Destiny 2 (you know how it is when you start a new game), and C : College n stuff. However, a little tidbit I can tell you - I now have a direction for this expansion concept's story to take: The Gathering Storm will bridge the gap between Fortuna and Railjack with a special quest. If HuginTheCrow agrees, the timeline could meet here, and this would be when Operation Shadow Marines happens While it could be difficult to fully synchronize our threads (Main issue: Shadow Marines start at completion of the Archwing Quest, which is around Mars Junction, here you have stuff happening already after Ambulas Reborn, after Pluto Junction), you are welcome to use the Shadow Marines, as they are meant to remain an existing special operations force even after their spotlight-time passes. DrMegavolt
Neato, thanks. I just wanted to include an appearance by the Corsar Corps, since their whole thing is being the anti-Corpus patrol.
Unus
Heh, now that you seem to be a bit more active, perhaps you'd be interested in a little invite to an "Outer Design Council" sanctum were all a part of? No, I'm NOT inviting you to THE design council, what I AM saying is that I and Mr. Crow, Wolf, and Jado are all a part of a Discord that allows Design Councilman and "commoners" to mingle and socialize. Makes it fun to collaborate in real-time. Whatcha say? That aside, wish I had anything to contribute on the topic at hand, but, oddly, Corpus suffer from neglect in my territory storywise. Got guns, got units, got a tiny smattering of Tileset mentions, but, nothing I think would be relavent to your project. DrMegavolt
Oh sure, that sounds, well, fascinating if I'm being entirely honest. I have very little idea what the Design Council actually does exactly beyond being DE's foremost community advisers, so you can see why I'd be interested. By all means, feel free to drop me a link when you have a chance. Thanks!

The latest Warframe is a product of their collaborative work, as was. . . Nova, I beleive? Welcome suh, can make our little quadrangle a pentangle. Just gotta wait for my Thanksgiving festivities to be finished and I'll send it right your way, assuming one of my associates doesn't get to you first, heh.
