ghoffman1928
why use Sacrificial Pressure when Primed Pressure Point is better even after Sacrificial set bonus? does anyone really sacrifice 30% damage just to do some 41% extra damage to sentients? Which actually only equals out to about 13% extra damage to sentients when you consider 165% vs 137% + 41% = 178% if the bonuses are even additive if not multiplicative. Or am I missing something here?
(PSN)FunyFlyBoy
Pretty sure that 41% works like any other Bane mod which means it works off your total melee damage.
rapt0rman
Well, for one thing, you're missing that you sacrifice 30% base damage for +41% damage to senients and 22% crit chance. Second, +faction damage is multiplicative and applied after all other stats, it's exponentially more powerful then base damage. That said, there are situations where Primed Pressure Point is better than Sacrificial Pressure. Edited October 14, 2018 by rapt0rman
ElGuirrix
As others have said, the bonus damage to sentients is multiplicative to your total damage, so you'll do significantly more damage to them. On top of that, sacrificial steel increasing your crit chance by a significant amount pairs well with blood rush to make your crit scale a lot faster. So I'd say you would use those two depending on the weapon and if you're willing to spend the extra forma. Otherwise every melee is perfectly fine using primed pressure point. (PSN)EpICFreeDoMZz
I treat the sacrificial mods more like an in between. So like better than the base but not as good as the prime. For example its not that hard to get the sacrificial mods, just do the sacrifice quest but prime mods are a bit more complicated. You have to get them from baro or try trading for them which is a pain. Plus there's also the fact that a few sacrificial mods don't have primes yet, namely sacrificial steel. So its a direct upgrade.
Loza03
For regular use, you're basically sacrificing base damage for crit. So, generally, you'll get more use out of it for Crit-focused melee's, especially since you'll get Blood Rush to scale faster. So, if you're willing to spend the Forma, use them on Crit Melee's, and the regular on status Melee's which don't benefit from crits as much. Spoiler for Chimera Prologue Spoiler A good example would be Paracesis, which has very high crit stats. With the Sacrificial mods it hits 62% crit chance, meaning that Blood Rush takes it to guaranteed crits upon 1.5X multiplier and red crits once you reach a 2x multiplier, which is very easy. And it only scales up from there. Given it's innately high multiplier as well, the Sacrificial mods are preferable on it.
Supe84
All the thing with sentients aside, when you combine the two sacrificial mods together, you get 275% crit chance with maxed sacrificial steel, which will give you more damage because of the way crit works. edit: the sac. steel will also give you more sentient damage. Edited May 30, 2022 by Supe84 mentioned sac. steel's addition of sentient damage
gamingchair1121
Heavy attack builds If you didnt know, your crit chance is doubled on heavy attacks, so if you have true steel on (+120% crit chance), you instead get +240% crit chance. Sacrificial steel is +220% crit chance, and with sacrificial pressure, on a heavy attack you will get +550% crit chance.
