Equinox Maim not working properly

So i played arbitrations and got the 300% bonus on equinox so naturaly i wanted to try my Maim build, after some time i started noticing that enemies wasn't getting slash procs when they reached low hp. some enemies weren't affected at all ... i think this is related to the new drones,  if an enemy has been connected to a drone and then stepped out of range of the drone then Maim wont work. (if i detonate Maim it still works) .. hope this makes sense kinda hard to explain... picture below is an enemy affected by Maim but not getting damaged.
