Purchasable Item That Locks 1-2 Riven Stats For a Certain Number of Rolls

I've seen a lot of people asking for the ability to lock Riven stats and I think it would be a good compromise to create an item that gives us that ability. Maybe you could lock up to two stats for 5-10 rolls? It could be a rare reward and/or purchasable with platinum.

If DE sold the item for plat it would go against their ethos since it would give you advantage on RNG.  Thus it would basically encourage gambling since your odds of getting something good increases.   This is most certainly a lootbox type trap and I would 100% rail against this with all my might.    Imagine if you went into a casino and the house said if you give us some money up front we will rig the slot machines to be slightly more in your favor but the house will still win on average.   Yeah...predatory.

I personally feel the main reason people get so S#&$ty about rivens is that they get jealous that somebody else got lucky and got a riven that made them a cubic buttload of plat and nothing to actually deal with the power (albeit unnecessary power) that the riven provides.  I feel it is purely emotional.

The only thing that would twist my arm is if you are allowed to lock one stat the riven becomes UNTRADABLE.   But even then this would destroy plat price of rivens since the odds of getting a damn good riven go from about 1:500 rolls to at worse 1:100 rolls.

Asian games are -> that way.

Diablo 3 only has you reroll one stat at a time on something, thus locking everything else. I wouldn't mind only getting the ability to reroll a single stat, but 3.5k Kuva for a completely random reroll is a lot of Kuva in the end.

This is what the Riven Transmutes should have been.

Rivens already make many aspects of the game trivial. The slight saving grace they do have is their RNG on rolls. Weakening any aspect of that is just a horrible idea in my opinion.

So lucky people and/or people with a ton of plat can have OP Rivens, but everybody else is sol. Got it.

Only if it locked in the minimum value of that stat

Why?

I was more thinking about the idea of it being locked behind plat. That is typical asian MMO business and doesnt belong in the west.

Ah. I completely agree. But considering this is a company that deactivated the rerolling on pets because some guy whaled on it and that's not the avenue they wanted to go down for Warframe, I doubt that'll become a problem.

Works in theory, but in practice all that happens is that a tiny minority of players who have a ton of time to invest in Kuva farming get these powerful Rivens, and players with a ton of money buy them. Most average players don't have access to them in practice. Being able to reroll specific stats on a Riven while leaving the rest untouched would pop the bubble of the Riven Market since god rolls would be much easier to obtain, meaning more people would be able to actually buy them since the price of a good roll would go down and you wouldn't get whales trying to sell them for 7,000 plat or higher.

More accessibility to a market is never a bad thing for the masses. It's only a bad thing for people who don't want healthy competition.

this, exactly. it will makes good riven much mroe common and pop out the bubble of the so-called """"""god riven"""""" at 10K or more ( total bullcrap ). by working, grinding and this time, more controlling your RNG, you would take the time to build your ideal riven, which will in turn makes this type of thing more common, more people to actually farm rivens, since they wouldn't be TOTALLY RNG anymore, because you would have a certain control. which is always good, on RNG. more control over Riven quality for more player = more good rivens = less higher price, which can only help and stop being an object for rich players with thousands plats or rich players with tons of cash to put in the game, and help people who have neither the time, nor the cash. i can only go with this suggestion and hope it makes it into the game one day!

Why not also put that item in a loot box tat is only purchasable with cash with a % chance of getting it. And also make the loot box purchases only available to people who bought the season pass and if you preorder the expansion it would give you there of these items for free as s bonus
