Weapon Swap Changed? PS4

So, when did Weapon Swap order get changed? I don't remember this being announced;

 

Used to be:

tap Swap to toggle between primary and secondary

hold Swap to select melee

Swap from melee returns to primary

 

Now changed to:

tap Swap to toggle between primary and secondary

hold Swap to select melee

Swap from melee returns to Previous Weapon (pri or sec)

 

This change totally messes with me, used to the Former Swap Pattern (since its the same way Destiny does it)

Seriously DE, don't make pointless changes that don't improve anything, all it does is screw with peoples' ;'muscle memory' and piss them off.

Note this is PS4, not PC. may be different across platforms

I do Not Believe this is a Mandela Effect, the control scheme Did change at some point.

 

when I started playing last year I wrote a macro program for my controller to track weapon swaps and change out rapidfire/antirecoil automation settings. It's programmed to work on the Old swap pattern, not the Current one.

human memory may be fallible, but the code isnt

 

 

any rate, the point is moot. Its annoying that DE would change parts of the interface; but as we all know they aren't going to change it back. I've already reprogrammed my controller to account for it.

Originally, I believe it probably was switching from melee back to primary. DE did change it, quite a while ago. It was changed on consoles shortly after PC. As far as I recall.
