Normal skins for Prime weapons

Not the first thread on this topic, I know,  but... why isn't something as simple as this already in the game ?

I mean, we have it for frames, so why not make the default skin for prime weapons available ?

I would even pay to get something like the normal Gram or the normal Spira skin on the prime variant.

 

Could someone from DE tell us why something that simple and so requested is still just in our dreams possible ?
