CaptainF41c0n
Right now, due to all of the awesome dual mods, any gun mod slot doesn't seem to allow the players to create their perfect build, whether it is a full critical hit chance build, full elemental build or high magazine capacity build. I propose for the development team to implement a way into letting players gain more mod slots towards their weapons, without making the guns overpowered and ending up breaking the game. Ways to add the mod slot could be either using a Forma (must have the weapon at max level first), or an Orokin Catalyst/Reactor, or both and would also reset the weapon rank back to 0. This would make it hard but doable for players to gain a mod slot, and at the same time help them in to making their perfect weapon build. Adding a mod slot would not increase the capacity that the gun can hold, (whereas a catalyst does), and so the player can choose whether to use many Forma's or a Catalyst/Reactor to super charge their weapon and still have sufficient space for their build. This idea would not only be great for players, but would even help DE gain more money from players choosing to buy more platinum for Forma's or a Catalyst/Reactor (or a totally new resource if this idea gets through). I hope this is considered into the game. Thank you. Limit of mod slots - 12 (maximum of 4 can be added) DE can choose whether adding a mod slot would increase capacity, if so, 10 is enough per mod slot. porkabakin11
This would unbalance the game so much it is not even funny. Edited September 4, 2013 by porkabakin11

CaptainF41c0n
How would it unbalance the game, they are hard to get plus it does not have to add any mod capacity.
Stormandreas
How would it unbalance the game, they are hard to get plus it does not have to add any mod capacity. because you get 8 mods. This is PLENTY to overpower any weapon. Any more and all weapons will just one shot level 100's. 8 slots gives you plenty of space for freedom of damage choice etc. but not so much its restricting. CaptainF41c0n
8 doesn't seem like enough right now with all of the new dual type mods and normal mods.
Renathy
Nope. It would still unbalance the game, no matter how much you try and balance it out. That's why you have Forma and Polarity slots. Use them, they benefit you more than you know.
xGryphus
No to that - with 12 mod slots for weapons there would be no more builds (not mentioning perfect builds) - people would just throw up every possible damage increase. Just by the way - there are no perfect builds - just optimal builds for specific weapons and playstyles.
porkabakin11
I am going to estimate you are not in late game, acrid doesn't need anymore slots.
Korevas
Formaing every slot available right now still leaves you with points left over. Thus, more slots would be a straight upgrade, and we really don't need more of that.
Cabadath5
No.Weapons are already ridiculous since they shoot TWO freezing-electro-incendiary-armor piercing bullets at once (seriously sounds like something my 6 years old nephew would come up with while playing with his toy guns) but if you add even more slots what next? If someone wants to add an increase in clip size then WHOOPS that fire rate mod has to go off. Doesn't matter if the initial max mod cap doesn't increase when you add a slot.People would just forma the shiz out of the weapon.

CaptainF41c0n
That would take a very long time to do though, or the player would buy forma/catalysts and then the DE would gain more money.

Toom1275
I use 9 different primaries and 7 different secondaries to make up 10 different builds to take depending on what mission I use. I try to make the loadouts for each of my weapons different from the others, tailored mainly to enhance that weapon's natural strengths, while fitting in the mod slot limit. I enjoy being able to make my weapons (and frames) into a kind of swiss-army-knife of an arsenal, with each piece providing its specific function. Having all the mod slots I want to put everything on at once, or just putting all the power mods on all frames, would make things pretty bland build-wise. Grandarex
You weren't the first to suggest something like this, OP. And all of those times, people disagreed for obvious reasons. I would also tell you "No", but it looks like others have done the work for me. Thanks.
Rafarix
The fact is that you are not suppose to be able to have everything on your weapon in the first place. You can mod your weapon with nothing but damage or give it a better fire rate, as well as other things like extra ammo/clip etc at the expense of damage. The point is yes there are a lot of nice new mods out there, but you are never suppose to have everything.
PeripheralVisionary
If we had 10 slots or 12, I'd have the perfect gun. Edited September 5, 2013 by PeripheralVisionary
skinotik
I made a similar post a while ago. I was pledging for 10 mod slot (just like warframe). My argument were that 10 slot would require 9-10 forma to really maximize a weapon and with increase in mod quantity over time 8 slot would eventualy feel small. Furthermore, atm, +dmg and multishot are mandatory. So we only have 6 real slot to customize. I hope DE will fix the damage stacking with their new damage model. If not they should think about adding slot.
Altey
I would be better if we could place 2 SAME MODS in 1 weapon.
Karma_Ghost
I would be better if we could place 2 SAME MODS in 1 weapon. That would be ludicrously overpowered. Imagine pistols with 2x Hornet Strike, 2x Barrel Diffusion, and 2x Lethal Torrent. That's 440% damage, 360% multishot, and 120% fire rate for 6 slots.
