Copying Warframe files from another PC (steam)

Question

Hello,

does anyone here know the proper way of transferring the game files (I use the Steam version) from a PC to another, without having the launcher starting a big update?

I have extremely limited internet, so I cannot afford downloading anything bigger that 1GB.

I checked around but I'm not sure if those methods are up to date.

Thank you

I do this often enough.  So copy everything in Steam>steamapps>common>Warframe as well as appmanifest_230410.acf which is under Steam>steamapps.  That manifest is essential, and if you don't transfer that file, Steam will force you to redownload the entire game.

You might want to export > import the registry values too (Assuming all the paths to the game and launcher EXEs will be the same)? I use the standalone version but I assume the steam version would have similar.

I imagine the Steam version's DownloadDir & LauncherExe paths will be different than mine and you may need to 'correct' them if the new install is not exactly the same as your old one (like if you had your steam games on a different drive letter or something). Mine are like the following with the main ~20GB game being on G: (my SSD storage) and the Launcher files stubbornly refusing to go with them because..."reasons"?:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Digital Extremes]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Digital Extremes\Warframe]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Digital Extremes\Warframe\Launcher]
"DownloadDir"="G:\\Warframe\\Downloaded"
"LauncherExe"="C:\\Users\\MyUserName\\AppData\\Local\\Warframe\\Downloaded\\Public\

Won't Steam backup work?

That surely should work. It's just slow waiting on Steam to archive, then you have to transfer to new install...but it should work and be the easiest way as far as not fooling around with sorting things out manually.
