Um first off lemme just apologize if my following post seems abit off. i've just had a nightmare and just.... well im shaking and crying at the moment... and im a six foot something dude so that isnt really a thing that happens.

 

anyway to the acual relevent stuff.

 

I'm posting this at 11Pm ish in .. mountain? idk what ever time zone dallas texas is in. So that it wont get entirely overrun in the flood of the very type of post im gonna be talking about in a minute.

 

We know that DE listens to us. and they take our time and money very much into consideration. if the livestream doesnt prove that then idk what would. The people who produce this game are really good people. So i think we should kinda chill out with all the backlash and stuff. They made a mistake. everyone does it.

 

i dont have any of the frames who were going to be nerfed and i entirely agree with all the posts saying that they are unneeded. and with the hundred+ threads about them i think it's community consensus that we dont want this. And after its not sleepy-time in canada-land anymore. they're going to peruse the forums and basicly just go "oops i dun goofed" and then get rid of the planned nerfs. 

 

i suck at ending things. so i'll just post the thread with this.

What those people don't get is. When you invest into a business, in this sense they invested in this game. You're not in control of the business/game. You merely help it develop. If the business succeed you succeed. If the game succeed you get fun and enjoyment out of that. You don't buy stocks from a company then go up to the boss/president/CEO and start telling them what you think they should and how they should run the company just because you brought some stocks from them. That is not how it works.

When you spent money on platinum you basically put your trust in the DE that they'll do their best to make the game enjoyable to the best of their ability. It's also a risk since it might fail, but by spending money you're putting your trust in them. Buying Platinum doesn't mean you control the DE and can order them around. You can give them ideas and advice base on your personal experience with the game (Beta tester).

Alright then. From my personal experience with the way DE does things. (An example being the current mod system which was implemented. Not many people liked the mod system when it first came out in U7. People wanted the old mod system back. However DE said they were going to experiment and see which work better and implement the better one before release. Or something along those lines)

 

My guess is they'll do the change and see what happens. If a lot of people still complain about it then DE will either change it back or try out a new idea. Beta testing is sort of like cooking. You mess around with it till you find the right taste that suits you. That is exactly what DE is currently doing. So the only thing we can do is let them make the change and see how things go.

yeah that makes sense... it kinda upsets me seeing all theese people just saying theese awful things about the dev team and like... S#&$ did you WATCH the livestream? that @&#(&*@#$# was so sincere when he was talking about how bad he felt about devalueizing anything we put tiime and or money into. like. i wanted to hug him and say its all ok bro you do what you gotta do.

As Steve said during the livestream, DE's balances and changes have rarely been small or subtle.

 

Given that, I don't know why they're shying away so much from completely dumping certain skills and starting from scratch. The periodic tweaking of skills that will never be great skills, because of their core mechanics, is endlessly frustrating to watch. Bullet Attractor. Shield Polarize. Absorb. Well of Life. I just wish DE would do what they're best at, deal with the anger and the controversy, and completely replace some skills and totally switch out the mechanics of others (how great would Shield Polarize be if it was primarily a team buff instead of primarily an enemy debuff?).

Only thing that irks me is the proposed changes to Overheat, mind you I haven't bothered with Ember since I 30'd her, so it doesn't bother me at all.

 

Nerfs are a part of good game balance, and it is fair to say that any nerf will upset people (nobody likes losing their favourite toy) but people get over it.

 

Just trust DE to do their job, and instead of crying, try constructive criticism. It works much better.

 

+1 to you OP, for having the sense not to be a crybaby like others though.

DE should just link this page as soon as the game opens, before you can actually log in. That and hope most of the playerbase are literate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_release_life_cycle

aye but with how big it's getting they'd have to post it in a bunch of european languages as well... idunno how many people in canada know german or russian but i barely know spainish and im like three hours away from mexico

Sell your account to someone that wants it.

My freind did that not to long ago after he got permantly burnt out. He sold his account with an excal prime to someone in our association. it was a win win. he got the money he spent on his excal prime back. and the other guy got about 200$ worth of premade weapons

if its this thread we'll we're all just reveling in the somber relization that the majority of the playerbase are giving the gamedevs more greif than they deserve. and as for the community.... well we're in the same boat there..

What are you talking about? Most of them don't even read GD... *@##$ing in WF feedback is where its at.

true enough. WF feedback seems to be filled with people who dont have any genuine intrest in being a part of the community, and just here to voice their really bad greviences and back them up with really bad evidence... seriously....

 

"We should buff the lato because i cant the seer to drop"  ... idk if that convey's the message right but you get what i mean?
